    Im back after having hip replacement surgery 3 months ago. My goal will be to ride my stationary recumbent bike 100 miles in the month of August.

    I would like to join - even tho I'm late. I need accountability and and incentives with logging this every day and seeing what others are doing will help.

    11 aug - elderly inlaws duty, so no excercise achieved
    12 aug - longish walk (1 1/4 hrs) on welsh beach before journey home
    13 aug - greenwich park short walk to help put life back into perspective (elderly and v v unwell mum this time)

    Always a good day when I can get out to paddle, even if it kicks my butt to do it. Got to see lots of rays, schools of fish, a shark, a manatee, and a turtle. Even better day when I can see lots of critters in the water while paddling. :)

    We've been training for this for the past two months and chose this particular one because it fit in our schedules and was relatively flat. We started strongly, but at the 200 km point, I broke a tooth (the tooth was in questionable condition to begin with) which made the remaining 200 km a little more challenging than I had hoped. Breathing through my mouth was painful, so I was reduced to breathing through my nose. And eating was painful, so I ran rather low on energy. I was hoping to finish within 24 hours, but I guess an extra 45 minutes wasn't too bad. :)
    We rolled into the start location at 7:45 am on Sunday.


    Aug 15 - 0.5 km walking (7 min) ... airport.

    Aug 16 - 3 km walking (35 min) ... to the beach and back to stretch things out.
