I like this merman that turned up today
He’s magical!😍1 -
Saw this earlier today. Anyone wanna go get soup?

Still a decent cyclist after more than two months off the bike. Wish I could still run without my knees exploding though.

California was on my bucket list of places I wanted to visit and so far it’s what I expected and more. I really like the aesthetic and there’s no way I could ever run out of things to do.
I had my first in and out burger and I think the hype was true for once! It’s a very good basic burger. Sooooo many Asian restaurants and I hope I get to eat at one of them this trip.
It’s my first time being on the west coast and when we went to the beach we got to see some dolphins and a baby whale from the pier. A pelican was diving for fish.
The houses are beautiful! It was intimidating though just flying over the area as the ground went from desert to a gigantic sea of orange rooftop housing. The sheer amount of people that live here trips me out. I do think though that if I ever figure out how to make crazy amounts of money that I could see myself living here. The too many people thing does spook me though, I like my space to just exist by myself.7 -

this makes sense for me personally in a lot of ways. i think many people can relate to this. what further nailed me was the reference to splitting the orange for everyone. i remember my mom telling me when she was 5 she had her first orange ever. she was so malnourished during the war that my grandmother took her out to the countryside, where she begged and traded one of her coats for a dozen eggs from a farmer so my mom and uncle could some get some nourishment. they had been displaced from Latvia and had next to nothing. it's no wonder she went on and on about me finishing all the food on my plate as a child - as *there were kids starving all over the world*
she continued to have a love/hate relationship with food/body image that was passed down to me. i wish she were still here so i could say - mom - it's ok.....you made it through that time, and i'm grateful anyway as you did the best you could!11 -

This hit pretty deep... I remember my father forcing me to finish everything on the plate...
Never really connected it to the fact that he basically came to this country as a boy about my son's age with nothing...5 -

I was just thinking that. Not until we're older we come to understand our parents rights and wrongs. Which in turn, we can teach our children better. She would be proud of you ❤3 -
The next time I go on a 3-6 month hiatus, my return post will be...
