Happy Birthday Marni!
Gorgeous quilt Charleen! My quilts are much more basic-log cabin, churn dash, 9-patch etc...and a few t-shirt quilts for my kiddos.

Charleen quilt takes my breath away.
Marni stunning pictures. Happy Birthday tomorrow! :flowerforyou:2 -
Good evening. Just a quick check in. I'm rocking my granddaughter to sleep. Five days on plan. Still lacking on the steps. I don't remember who said it but I like the idea of having a sleeve to put it in so I can wear it around my ankle.
I think I will see what I can crochet that would work. Of course it wouldn't pick up my heart rate. I'll have to think on it.
Tomorrow will be an eating challenge. We have a big event at church in the morning followed by a church wide potluck fellowship. The church is providing fried chicken then the members are providing the sides. I signed up to bring potato salad and rolls last Sunday when they passed around the clipboard. I had no idea that Monday I was going to decide I was tired of being tired and start a life change on Tuesday.
It will be alright. I can do this.
Sweet dreams everyone

Lenora: If I'd had the opportunity to muck out stalls as a kid in order to get to ride I'd have been in heaven. I envy your childhood self. I wouldn't mind mucking out stalls on occasion now, either. Later this spring seems probable. DH needs his eye surgeries done so he is no longer trapped at home when I go off to play with horses. :flowerforyou:
Sherry: I love the cartoons and read the third one to DH. He laughed too. "At my age "getting lucky" means walking into a room and remembering what I came in for."
Marni AK: I love your ticker and the wildlife pictures. Thanks for sharing. Happy birthday, you sweet young thing!
Gloria: I love the term Januarians. My dad was one. You always impress me because you do so much between raising grandsons and working. You have a great attitude and I admire you. :flowerforyou:
SGCFab55320: It took a while for me to lose the weight and I'm happy that it came off at a safe pace. It is staying off, too. I've been holding my own for a couple of years now. I stay with this group for many reasons, and keeping myself focused on staying at a healthy weight is right up there. Friendship is right up there, too.
Cheri: Smaller clothes sizes are the best NSVs! Your DH noticed and that is even better. Congratulations!!!
Lanette SW Washington: We love hummingbirds, too. They seem to like our fuchsias in summer and our feeders all winter, even in the snow. We've really fallen in love with them.
Paula aka pyanko: Welcome to a great group. I am also a user of Systane. It sure helps when my eyes get dry. I also use it to combat itchy eyes when certain things are in bloom. It does a great job of washing out the pollen.
Today has been full of things to do and also included my riding lesson. I had a great time riding and my sometimes naughty mount was a cooperative and willing to do what I asked of him. He got to go out for a trail ride with his owner earlier in the day and it must have put him in a good mood.

Night, night, ladies!3

Went to the Newcomer social tonight. I was glad to see that they had salmon and chicken. Had a little of each. But no veggies (except for mashed potatoes), they did have some sort of Thai rice, had a bit of that, tried to pick out the veggies. Then a salad (no dressing) and just water to drink. I'm glad that I took my soup and shirataki noodles with me
Remember when we were having the Halloween social I was going to borrow a wheelchair for one lady (she's severly overweight needs to lose weight for knee replacement, but I can't get over her diet). Anyway, she wanted to go to this social so her hubby brought her. We could tell that he didn't think it a good idea. I found out later that when they were leaving, he evidently fell off a step and just cut his arm, but she really can't afford to have something happen to him. As it is, he was supposed to get his knee replacement around now but he put it off until early May. He said he needs someone to stay with her, which is true. But it really needs to be someone who is there 24 hrs/day. He has commented how she kept him awake because she was in such pain. I really feel for him. I'm thinking that I just may make a pot of soup for them and a lemon cake.
Marni - happy birthday! Love all your pics
Cheri - awesome NSV!!
Charleen - your quilts are breathtaking

DrKatieBug/KarenVA - I'm so excited, today I ordered 3 pair of leggings from LuLaRoe. Can't wait to get them.
Marni, not quite your birthday but wishing you the happiest day. Love the pics. I showed the picture of the twins to my husband, he loved it. He lived in Alaska for several years when in the Air Force and stationed up there.
Barbie, I know you must be excited. You're gonna be one busy lady if she likes to walk as much as Shasha. Anxious to see pictures.
Per Chris' suggestion I put my fitbit on my ankle while on the treadmill this morning. Wow lots lots more steps. I was surprised at the difference. I shall do that every time I walk
Charleen - the quilt is beautiful. You have such a talent. I'm still searching for my talent
Janetr OKC2 -
Hey now....
Gloria and Lanette - I love this little Kindle Fire! I wish I had known they were this great when I originally bought that store brand hunk of junk! I would have gotten this instead! Just got done streaming a movie on it from my Popcornflix app and it worked great! And the battery lasts longer too. I am so much happier with it's all around performance.
Katla - I thought those minion memes were pretty hilarious too, especially that one!
Marni - am loving the pics! And Happy Birthday to ya!
Charleen - such a gorgeous quilt! I love it!
OK, here's a few more memes before I say good night...
OK, good night ya'll. Hope everybody sleeps well and has sweet dreams! Love ya!

Penny - I'm sorry about all your flight problems. The video was cool. I really enjoyed it.
Rita - Hugs to you. Enjoy your visit.
Katla - I have wonderful memories of growing up with horses. My Dad actually used to break horses for other people. He had a very gentle and intuitive way with horses. One of the perks was that we kids did a lot of riding. He always made us ride bareback. I remember riding my horse up to the neighbour's to watch "Zorro". I miss riding (Docs and family say No!). I don't miss mucking out. Riding, roping and rodeo.
Lenora - Yes. CPP is early retirement at 60 and regular at 65. You pay in all of your working life.
Thanks for sharing your DMGD's story. DGS is 14. Hopefully we have some answers next week. I miss the "old" Greysyn. We spent so much happy time together.
Sherry - Love the minions.
Marni - Happy Birthday to you. It's too bad the chatty waiter ruined the romance. It sounds like you have a good day planned. PJs and movies could get pretty romantic. (Just saying)
I'm digging your photos. Keep them coming.
Pip- Will we be seeing photos of your finished quilt? The last quilt I did was just squares of all kinds of old denim. I had almost forgot about it until I unearthed an old journal. Sure wish I had a photo of it. We have a quilt that Larry's great Grandma made . I am hoping to find someone who can restore it to former glory.
I love the pic of You and Rocky.
Cheri - Nice NSV. Isn't it nice when someone notices the changes?
It's an event when we get to the Ikea in Calgary. We never leave empty handed.
Paula - Seems like we have similar goals. We also have 7 grandchildren.
How is your husband doing?
Charleen in Colorado - the quilt is stunning. What is this one called?
Grace - You can Do This!
Does anyone here use a restricted time span for eating? I was reading about having your last meal at 2 p.m. I found it interesting but one change at a time for me.
DB stopped in after dialysis. He looked so drained. I wanted to tuck him in, feed him soup and watch over him. He insisted he was fine and had errands to finish. Some days are better than others. 2 days off for him.
Our Christmas party was a success. I didn't win anything as I forgot to put my own name in for the draws. There were some phenomenal bowlers among the staff and some that were terrible. Lots of laughter which I was aiming for. The pizza was a hit. All in all I think it went well. DH complained that it was boring but if you won't participate then yeah, it will be boring.
I found my decree absolute today but not what I really need. Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and spend more money. I do have a few places to look yet.

I've been at the ER with my daughter since about 11:30. She called me crying, saying she was having severe abdominal pains. She was on her way home and I told her to go and I would meet her there.
When I got there I thought she was passed out in her car. I had to get a security guard to help me get her out of the car and wheeled into triage. Her bladder isn't functioning properly. They did a CT scan and a sonogram. Her Fallopian tubes are distended and filled with fluid & she's got cysts on her ovaries. The ER doctor is consulting with a gynecologist right now.
I'm so tired. I've been up since 7:00 yesterday morning. I'm supposed to get up in a couple of hours and get my grandkids ready for church.
I don't see it happening.

Marni Happy Birthday!
Grace Sending you strength. Sorry about your daughter.
Cheri You go girl! Once you go from obese to overweight the sizes change rapidly with each 5 lb loss, it's pretty phenomenal. You will be in 14's before you know it, then 12's...
Sharon Ask Mary about intermittent fasting. It's her preferred way of eating.
Janetr You are going to love those leggings...and you have opened up a can of worms, you will be so hooked!
Off to work in a few minutes. Here is the bag of veggies I am taking with me today:

Good morning Ladies.
I guess my body is so used to getting up really early for work it just doesn't know it is the weekend and it's ready to move at 5:30 am. I'll take a new later if I get too tired, not much planned for today.
Grace, I do so hope your daughter is OK, sending prayers.
Charleen, your quilts are absolutely stunning! I admire your talent, and patience.
Barbie, anxiously awaiting the arrival of your new fur baby. She is so lucky to have found such an awesome forever home.
Marnie, Happy Birthday! Hope you had a wonderful day. I am also, enjoying your pictures and tales of Alaska. I spent a day in Ancourage after a cruise and found it amazing. It is a beautiful city and full of hanging plants. The people were so warm and inviting. I loved every minute of my time spent in Alaska and would go back in a heartbeat.
Sherry, I thank you for making me chuckle first thing in the morning by sharing the Minions. It will be a wonderful day because it began with a laugh. Keep 'em coming. I think you had mentioned that you were a big rig truck driver. That is the industry I am in and have always admired the women who take on the challenge in such a male dominated industry. All of the women drivers I have are wonderful. Pat yourself on the back for doing a job that many men cannot handle.
Cheri, many, many congratulations on the smaller size! You go rock those jeans girl!
I made the cauliflower pizza crust for dinner last night, not as crispy as I would have liked but pretty tasty. I may not have baked it long enough or the sauce made it soggy. I will experiment. I will post the recipe when I get it right. I saw quite a few recipes for it online if you want to try it sooner. I topped it with Trader Joe's turkey bologanaise sauce which I find rich, satisfying, and very yummy. It comes in at 120 calories per serving (1/2 cup) which was enough for my personal pan pizza. MFP has the pizza crust at 65 calories per serving and I figured I had 2 and I added 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese for a total of 370 calories total. Not bad for a very yummy and satisfying dinner. The sodium in the sauce is a bit high at 620 though, but I'll drink more water today.
On my mall walk yesterday I did decide to try on the size 4 pants and THEY FIT!! A bit tight but I could zip them up, so I had to by them! Although they are of the stretchy blend material and more forgiving than pure denim, I just had to have a size 4. I just may have to hang them on the outside of my closet door inside out so I can see the size label every day as incentive.
And they were an additional 15% off! I'm stoked! When I began this my goal was size 10. Don't let anyone tell you that it is impossible for women of a certain age to lose weight, I am proof that it is not true. I was convinced I could not so I gave up until I began this at age 57. Just remember it is a slow process, you didn't put it on overnight and you won't take it off overnight. PATIENCE! One small change at a time and they will add up to a healthier lifestyle.
I must begin my day...love to everyone!

Grace sending strength that your DD recovers quickly.
Chris I am so happy for you, you are really in the zone--WTG!
Cheri I love nsv's, enjoy the compliments, you deserve them.
Today I'm headed to the gym first, then a nice walk and catch up with bff and finally off to the grocery for a week's worth of meal planning.
This "Januarian" is looking forward to a new month, and the promise that winter is getting shorter. Countdown to our anniversary trip to Morocco is getting real-3 weeks to go, I will be dealing with anxiety all the way up to takeoff-so bear with me, skip my posts or send me strength!! NYKAREN3 -
Morning, all,
Chris - thanks for that shot in the arm--I'll be 57 on my next birthday, and that lifted my thought process.
Happy birthday to Marni and all the Januarians.
Hugs to those who struggle - Grace, I hope your daughter's doing much better.
Charleen - you are truly an artist - it's a beautiful design.
I've been reading, just not posting for a couple days, as I've been in a sort of fallow state. Hard to explain--not depressed, it's actually quite pleasant. Just "Keeping Quiet," as Pablo Neruda would say. And, came out of it two pounds lighter, which is pleasing, as well.
Will be working a couple days extra these next two weeks, as the publisher is taking a week and a half of vacation. Should be interesting--much less stressed about it than I would have been only a month ago. But, I'm sleeping in almost every day--well, for me, 5:30 a.m. is sleeping in. I slept eight hours again last night, and woke rested. Such an amazing thing. I do believe the Synthroid is working for me--and if not, I've got some awesome placebo effect going on. Don't even care which at this stage, just so amazing to NOT feel exhausted for the first time in a year or so.
Headed back to the laundromat--just popped back home to read and snag another cup of coffee.
Love y'all, and while I don't comment on all, I do read about your lives every day. It is much like being surrounded by a group of friends, all chattering at once. I take much joy in that.

Chris, at my lowest weight I wore size 4 pants and loved being so thin. Then three medical professionals told me that for bone health and my age, I should add some weight. Since good health is my main goal, I followed directions and added the weight. Now I wear size 6 in the summer and size 8 in the winter with flannel leggings under them for warmth. Weight 110 and wearing size 4 was on my bucket list so even though I'm heavier than that now, I cherish the fact that I achieved my goal. Congrats to you on your size 4's. How cool that you took a photo and shared.
Grace, sending hugs to you and your daughter.

Congrats Cheri that is an awesome NSV
Charleen beautiful quilt, you are very skilled
Shannon I only eat between 12:00 - 7 pm and fast for 17 hours every day and I love how I feel
Grace Oh my, so sorry to hear about your daughter - hope you get some rest
Chris Size 4 WOW! Those last words in your post really touched me, thank you
Plan to spend a lazy day at home. Will plan my meals for the week. Going to try some lower carb vegetarian meals this week and see if that tips the scale a bit. I feel like something is wrong with me that I can't lose anything. It seems like I would have to starve myself. Right now I weigh 213 and MFP has me on 1500k, do you think that is too high? Even though I am very physically active, I set it on sedentary.
On another note, YES to the leggings addiction, the best fashion craze ever!
Have a great day everyone, love this group, you are all very special and what we are doing together matters!

I realize the size 4 is vanity sizing, I am no where near 110 lbs! I still have extra padding which is what I want to lose.

Lower carb and high fat and especially more protein is the combination that works for me. Eating protein every 2-3 hours Keeps me satisfied.

Marni, hope you had a wonderful birthday!
Gloria, your job situation sounds good - you can discuss issues with co-workers and move on. At one point I thought about working for a few more years, but was in a dysfunctional work group and the stars lined up so I left last August. It has been an adjustment - I've worked someplace forever it seems, it's part of my identity and reason to get up...so it's been fun finding the new "me".
Grace, hope your daughter is OK and they are getting to the source of the problem.
Barbiecat, I admire your stamina - getting your exercise in. Do you ever sit down? LOL! I read somewhere we should be up and moving an hour for every hour we are sitting in front of the TV (and I'd add computer!). Can't wait to hear more about your new dog.....today is the day!
Chris, WTG on the size four. What a great non-scale victory!
Lisa, I'm trying to catch up on the building sale scenario. I think I need to start over at page 1 when I get a chance. Anyhow, good for you losing 2# and getting some good sleep!
Will check in later-

Chris ~ Congrats on the Size 4. When I weighed 110, I still wore a size 12 pants. Every figure is different. Mine is short and round. LOL
Marnie ~ Have a wonderful day. Your dinner out sounded like fun. Sorry about the chatty waiter - I hate when that happens.
Grace ~ Prayers for you and your daughter.
Karen ~ Your veggie bag looks yummy.
Gloria ~ You are a wise woman. Being able to talk to a co-worker as you did is a talent I wish I had. I would just have a meltdown and cry. I am constantly having to "put my big girl panties on".
Charleen ~ Beautiful quilt. So much talent.
Michelle ~ You have more will power than anyone I can think of...with maybe the exception of Barbie. I cannot imagine taking special food to a dinner.
Barbie ~ Could you walk both dogs a the same time? So excited for you.
Sherry ~ Thanks for the cute toons.
Joyce ~ Show us a pic of your new stove. I love getting new replacements.
I am negotiating getting the exterior of my mom's house painted. I seem to have gotten and good deal and just hope a lot of extras don't pop up.
Off to walk my Pom!

Had a great visit with my bro and DSIL. We parted agreeing to do it more. We live 1 1/2 hours apart but grew up inseparable (he is 1 year younger). And still are very close.

Good morning! Have much to do today so just popping in to keep up with my reading. Love this group. It feels like a chatty group of friends. I really don't have any women friends in this town, and I miss having a best friend to go to coffee with and just "have". This kind of feels like it fills that gap. Thank you all just for being YOU!

was up at 5, went grocery shopping at 6:30am and then came home put it away, and have a bacon cheeseburger meatloaf in the oven.. and will do a roast and oven roasted potatoes .. trying to do most of the cooking so dont have to do alot during the week..
yes I am still cooking for Tom ,but after this week and seeing the lawyer, who knows what will go down....took the puppies for a walk and Tom is off to Walmart and a haircut...
so some quiet time..putting my feet up ,cause I am tired..6 -

Lanette, I don't do well sitting down for long. When I have to sit (at a meeting, in the car) I have my knitting but as soon as possible, I look for a place to take a walk.
Allie, this is a tough time for you whether you cook for Tom or not....just keep taking it one day at a time and put one foot in front of the other and you'll reach the destination of being away from Tom and building a happy life for you.
Time to leave for the airport to pick up Bess. Yes, we are very excited.

Sharon in Lethbridge: I envy your childhood self. Riding horses, roping and rodeo sounds like a great way to grow up.
Grace: You need to rest and a missed day of church will not hurt the grandkids. Sending prayers for your daughter's health and wisdom for her doctors. (((HUGS)))
Karen: Your bagged veggies look wonderful!
Chris in MA: Congrats on the size 4!!!!! I haven't worn a 4 since I was 4 years old. I am wearing 8's now, thanks to MFP. I've discovered I need large long sleeved tops because the smaller ones have sleeves that are too short. :ohwell: Lower carb plus higher protein & fat also work well for me.
Barbie: It has been a long time since I had to sit for a long meeting, but I always prefer the back row so I can get up and move. Have a safe trip to the airport to get Bess. :flowerforyou:
We had a tasty breakfast this morning, but much higher in sugar that is usual for me. I have a heritage sourdough starter that came to Oregon on the Applegate Trail, a spur off of the Oregon trail that led to Southern Oregon. I exercise it by making sourdough waffles from time to time. I'll need to burn off calories on the exercise bike in the garage today.
