Good morning.. no the first pic is not of my daughter but a former student of mine. As I listened to his beautiful playing I kept seeing the 9 year old boy, with questions, questions, questions, he never stopped talking and always had that smile on his face.
Second pic is DD amongst the giants, she really seems mature to me though. She has come a long way since her difficult first semester. She's coming into her own! Had a lovely dinner afterwards, counting blessing-not calories but skipped ice cream which I'm proud of. An early goodbye this a.m. And then I will shop at an Aldi's which I never get a chance to shop-I hear it is dirt cheap! So yeah!
Hives went away and have not returned. I'm guessing it was the last dose of anitbiotic I was on.
Beautiful day ahead- warm temps and sunshine and open road ahead, I'm blessed. NYKAREN5 -
Morning, all... Thank you for the comments on the painting - it's as finished as it's going to get. Contemplating my next one, and hope to take pics in Arkansas that I can turn into landscapes when I get home. Got more to learn, though. Me and Bob Ross, we're going to be tight.
Also want to learn to create my own picture frames. Corey bought me a table saw for Christmas, so I can rip lumber to whatever size/thickness/length I choose. And we have a bunch of reclaimed wood available to us.
Have been diminishing the sweetener I use in my coffee week by week, and I'm down from seven Splenda per 12-oz cup to just two. (I like (OK, liked!) my coffee very sweet). Taking the leap to none at all is in the offing. Maybe by the end of this week. Everything I read says those who use ANY artificial sweetener, gain weight. Period.
Physical therapy once more today - might let Corey go on his own so I can accomplish a few things around this joint. Three weeks from today I'll start the new job, and will be gone at least one week of that, so it's finally lit a fire under my butt. Well, today anyway, Slept every time I sat down yesterday--literally never got out of my pajamas. Just changed into another pair of PJs after I took a shower after dinner. And I slept for seven hours last night! Haven't had a day of accomplishing nothing (except finishing that painting) in, well, apparently my entire adulthood. Was lovely and restful. And a little weird.
Love y'all!

Penny Enjoy your time with your grandchildren
Lisa I quite enjoy your creative descriptions of the crapweasel. Enjoy your trip. The stained glass painting is gorgeous.
Fourlynne, Carmen, Diane Welcome
Barbie Sounds like a most beautiful day in Seattle
Lanette Hope your tomatoes have a warmer day and love the message
Beth So sorry to hear everything you and your DH are going through <<<hugs>>>
Becca I often braid my hair into several broads, put them all in a pony, sleep on it and get the best compliments at work
Ginger I have those same eating patterns from time to time. For me it is something that feels off or missing so I keep eating to fill it but nothing sufficed hence the overeating. I think a lot more about what someone here said about is it worth it for 5 minutes of pleasure. So yes forgive yourself and move on. Love your journal and nearly died laughing at the "eleventy million calories" I am still laughing
Joyce Thanks for sharing your story. I think when we share these types of stories and tell the secrets so much good can happen. Other people come forward. We share our pain together and the world heals a small bit. I am so sorry that happened to you. NO child should ever be treated that way. You are an amazing woman now and by sharing your story; I am sure you have helped many
Katia That is so funny that the company basically told you they are sending short people. Hope it goes well.
Meg So sorry to hear about Benny <<<hugs>>>
Karen Love the Olivia video!
Sue wow what an exciting trip, can't wait to see pics!
Sharon Are you originally from Grassy Lake?
NYKaren Beautiful pics
Well thank you all for your support and kinds words. We were extremely lucky that we flooded on the day the the water was at its worst. So the water levels are receding now and I feel safe to leave my house. It was a lot of wet vac work yesterday but from having two major floods in the past, this wasn't too bad. We didn't have to call anyone in, we handled it ourselves so that tells you something. All your prayers helped because it could have been so much worse. As long as it doesn't rain and the river keeps moving swiftly we should be out of danger.
Needless to say I am exhausted but love seeing the dry floor!
Take care everyone!

NY Karen ~ Lovely daughter.
ARTISTs ~ You are all so very talented. We have three paint by number pictures that my MnL did many, many years ago that are beautifully framed. They depict New Orleans where my FnL went to school at Tulane back in the 30's. Other than that, our art work is mostly Oriental related framed tapestries and wood block prints.
Pip ~ Your Air Stream looks great. I actually liked the upholstery but guess you want brighter colors.
Meg ~ So sorry for the loss of your beloved Benny.
Joyce ~ Sounds like you had a fun party for your 40 yr old daughter.
Penny ~ I agree with you on the fact that most American children have to have every waking moment filled with activities and electronics. Whenever I look after my two grands, I have to listen to "I'm bored" over and over.

Good morning all! Happy Monday! Well, I will start with an update on the trip to TX. As you know, the visit with DD and her DH and grandbaby Joaquin was absolute HEAVEN! We got the cleaning and repairs done, gave DD and SIL their first night out since the birth. Before they left for the movie, we all had dinner together. As we sat, ate and talked, DH and I were talking to the kids about DH's good luck with the convenience store lottery tickets. He bought a ticket our first night down there (he got lost while he was out exploring and a very kind police officer gave him directions back to DD's home) and he won $500! THEN, our last full day there, we went to visit his Aunt's grave (this is the Aunt who left us some $$ when she passed last year). We stopped at a convenience store close to the cemetery to get waters, as it was quite warm walking though the cemetery. Well, he bought another scratch off ticket and this time won (hold your hats) $1000! We gave the $1000 to the kids and they were speechless. They had just gotten the bill from the hospital for Joaquin's birth. DD had to stay an extra day, bc J wasn't latching on and feeding well, so the bill was about $2000 more than they had expected. It felt really good to have won that and to be able to help them out!
Now, the driving part of the trip was both wonderful and horrible! I did the majority of the driving (wonderful) the first day and DH slept the majority of the way. 12 hours, beautiful weather, my music playing, and the thrill of "going"! Day 2 was the day of storms. So some white knuckle moments and DH slept until we got into Dallas (then he woke up stiff, sore, and CRABBY!) On the drive back, DH was awake the majority of first day and complaining about the route. We went back through Oklahoma. Oklahoma...lots of farmland, lots of cows, and we were on a smaller highway that ran through towns (I believe one part of the highway was the historic Route 66). We spent the night in Joplin, MO, which is jut across the border. Day 2 started at 9:00am and I did the driving and DH slept almost the entire 12 hours! Hurrah! I have to say, of the states I drove through (INdiana, Illinois, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri) Missouri is by far my favorite as far as scenery. The bedrock that lines the highway was just stunning and trees/land were beginning to green up. And driving through a bit of the Ozarks was beautiful. Mind you, staying on one highway, I am aware I wasn't seeing the best of any state, I am sure. I won't judge or misjudge a state based on the scenery from the road. I would like to drive through Arkansas again, as I couldn't see much due to the storms. The time spent traveling through Illinois was the most boring for me. Flat farmland; nothing growing yet. I do have to say, that the Texans do everything "bigger" it seems. Their highway system was astounding throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth region! Not only expansive and a testament to all highway designers and builders everywhere, but the little decorative touches (little stars and detail on the buttresses) were appreciated by both DH and I. When DD took us to downtown Fort Worth to visit her office building, she also took us to a park that has these massive "umbrella" structures, that look like very artistic, large umbrellas that are able to fold upwards on windy days. They are there to shade a group of tables and chairs for people to sit and enjoy their lunch, talk, read, whatever. There is also a little water pad for kids/people to play in during certain times of the day; along with a waterfall feature near the tables. Very pretty and relaxing. I can see why she often has her lunch here.
Meg- So sorry to hear about Benny! Sending hugs to you for this loss and sending prayers, strength, and courage to you for everything you are going through with DH. Sending love, my friend!
Re- Good luck with your tests and your days in the pool at your mom's place sound divine!
Pip- Love the Airstream! I think the curtains will add a nice pop of color! Love the pattern of those curtains!
Beth- Hope you are on the mend and back to full strength soon!
Heather- Your spring walk sounds wonderful, and yes, I am sure the aches/fatigue from the walk is our bodies way of telling us to ease into our routine! Bea looks quite proud of herself! Rightfully so! Those first steps are monumental! Did you know that the average baby tries and fails to walk more than 400 times?! I think that should be our goal for ourselves; if a baby can keep falling/failing and getting up and trying again, why should we give up after just a few attempts at anything?! Go baby Bea! You got this, girl!
Lisa- Your glass painting is just beautiful! I am in awe at the creativity and talent on this site!
Ginger- Wow! Your art journal! Really very beautiful! Here I am content to just remember to journal every day! LOL! I feel like a slacker. I DO like the idea of index card art! I may steal that idea. Going to look up the challenge and see if I can find more details. It might be a good time to kick off a new habit or artistic outlet.
Penny- Have fun with your family/grandkids!
To all who have been abused- My heart aches for you and I sit in admiration of your strength and courage! Sending thoughts of love, comfort, kindness, and invisible "capes" to wear over your invisible armor; because you truly are Superwomen in overcoming adversity!
To all who are suffering with illness, injury to your selves or your spouses-Sending thoughts of healing to you all!
To the babies- Love and cuddles to Olivia, Mia, Bea, and all!
To the newbies- Welcome! Great group of ladies! Jump in, tell us your goals, feel free to vent or search for answers among us!
April goals:
Getting back on track! Walk daily! Follow high protein diet! 1 pound of veg a day! Water!
Well, there are more of you I wanted to respond to, but have run out of time. Kids are here and ready to play. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)6 -
Good morning everyone! I know on occasion we have hit on the subject of cellulite. Well the good news is cellulite does disappear as your body fat percentage goes down. No weird or expensive gimmicks! Just hard work! I am witnessing it disappearing. Working towards complete removal of it! Anyone else with similar observations?

Just had delivery of my new glossy black electric kettle and the switch has difficulty staying down. I can get it to work, but it doesn't want to stay down. Grrrrrrrrrr! Hate having to go to the bother of returning things via the post office. DH is out doing a big shop. Have to see what he thinks when he gets back. Botheration!
Having a delivery of a new garden parasol tomorrow. The old one broke.
Just made Spinach and Feta Pie. It's in the oven.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxx
PS - I've ordered Pokemon decorations for Max's birthday cake. DH is shopping for supplies to make the chocolate fudge cake. It's the same one as I made for all their christenings. Wonderful recipe.

Naiomi: The photo is beautiful. What a lovely retreat.
Penny: I think you have an excellent insight about kids being happier with device free unscheduled time. The TV always seems to be on at my grandchildren's house. :grumble:
Lisa: I use liquid stevia as sweetener in my coffee. It has not caused any negative outcomes. It also doesn't make coffee very sweet. It is less bitter. I've gotten used to it and like it just fine. Stevia doesn't have any of the negative impacts that artficial sweeteners can cause.
Sarah, ON: The pest control company told us they're sending a crew of men from a tribe whose members are small in stature. I can't wait to see them--and get our mess fixed.
Pip: Getting your summer bike out is so optimistic, especially after the winter we've had. WTG!!!
Yoga this morning and I hope it is not cancelled. I rely on it! Friday's yoga was cancelled because the gym had no electricity. I was so disappointed. :ohwell:

Someone here lost their fur baby, I'm so sorry
Your baby is up there hangin out with our rocky5 -
I think we're keeping the kettle. You have to hold it down a bit, but it works on the second go now. At first it was on the fifth! It looks ver nice.
Katla - I hate it when people have the TV on all the time. It just seems so rude. Our grandchildren are limited to half an hour before bath time. Max likes to use the laptop for his computer programming course (at 5 !) and Edie likes to play the BBC children's games with me on my tablet. They do have the radio on quite a bit though at breakfast when I'm not there, but they know I'm allergic to artificial noise and always turn it off for me!!! I am grateful. I do like peace and quiet. They are very good about not having phones etc around while we are eating. My son often turns his off nowdays and then can't find it. DDIL sometimes leaves hers behind on purpose when she goes to the beach etc.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxx
