We had some pretty bad weather supposed to happen today. So painter did not come. Has not rained a drop. Oh well. The money will just stay is our checking account a little longer. Contracter 'finished' their part today but they told us the would tack down the old roof tiles that had come up some along the gutter line with our old gutter guard. The new gutter guard does look streamlined. We will have to give him a call to let him know about tacking down these roof tiles. We got our new home and auto insurance today for the year. Another $2000 spent. I am wondering if we can either stop our AAA or decrease the level of plan because this auto insurance has a real good road assistance plan built into it.
Michele, yes Charlie did have C-Diff. Several times, They did talk about a stool stransplant several times but the antibiotics worked each time. With his colon removed now he never has it. I sometimes wonder what is wrong with my colon. Today was one of my 'bowel days'. It was a bad day. I was incontinent twice. One time was when we were going to the insurance office. Driving there I knew I needed to get to the bathroom so Charlie let me out at the door and I rushed in. The bathroom was at the back of the big office. It was to late. Luckily the bathroom was well equipped with a lot of cleaning items. I had no recourse but to take the offending underwear off and put them in a glove and go commando. Felt weird. I have an appointment with family doc Monday so that will be a big part of what I talk about. For lunch I had pineapple in 1% cottage cheese and mini carrots. Many meals it is just about 10 minutes that I have a belly ache. Last night was cheese pizza and no belly problems. Some of my stool today actually looked fatty.
I know there are some golfers here and follow the PGA tour. We have a course in a neighboring town, well it's actually part of metropolitan Evansville that has a real nice golf course and it is a courses on the Web.com tour. they are having the tournament this week. I would love to be a volunteer. They say it is the toughest course on the Web.com tour. the Champion's tour has had a tournament here. Champions tour is golfers from the PGA tour who have turned 50.
Kim, beautiful photography!. I have several members, all children of one of my uncles, that are the same. One lives in Seattle and her pictures are of the coast, whales, light houses. The others all do nature, birds, flowers, butterflies, etc. I am amazed. One of them is an underwater photographer with the either the navy or marines.

Hi Gals,
Sharon – take Stress Leave!!! I did it once and it was just what HR needed to go with the other complaints that I knew nothing about to have that cruddy boss let go. You never fail by taking care of you!
Allie – now that you know Tom is hiding things (computer passwords) I would recommend you don’t talk to him about it, you might “give away” some tidbit your lawyer can use to prove he is being dishonest and you need to get your fair share.
Carol – yes I took them, with the help of a very good camera that I borrowed. A bath with Epsom salts might help the muscles and bruising relax…
Mia – love the color!
Beth – sending ((((hugs))))) less calories than peanut butter cookies!
It’s my turn! Rori is coming to San Francisco and I’ll get to meet her! I am super excited!
I did my mammogram today, so that’s done – it’s a bother to get done, but I know it is a good thing to keep on top of.
Thanks to all who appreciated the photos - they were fun to take

Kim: Specsacular photographs. Looking forward to meeting you, too.
DJ: I'm so excited for you. A cruise, with a friend, and birthday to celebrate. Me jealous? Yeah, just a tad.
Eyelids are feeling heavy. The four legged alarm was up at 2:45 this AM, and I didn't get back to sleep after getting him settled. Off to bed. Will be back to chat with you again soon.
Stay well, friends. We can do this.

Today was the day we were supposed to start practicing dances for our performance at the county fair, but it got postponed until next Thursday. I used the unexpected free time to work in the yard and finally use my new QuickBooks 2017 program on my laptop computer as well as continue to transfer files from the desk top computer to my laptop. We watched the season premier of "Fargo" (one of our favourite TV shows) and it looks like it will be as great as the past seasons. I ride my exercise bike and knit while watching TV. The rain started just before the dogs' bedtime walk, so the walk was very short. Now they are in bed waiting for me.

A most productive day. I'd say it was a successful day. House is clean. Daughter on her own today so no grandkid stuff. My food intake was almost perfect (76 gr. protein 9 gr. carbs and 105 gr. fat - a little high on the protein but very happy with the 74% of calories coming from fat). Hosted our dive club meeting tonight and talked about upcoming dive trips.
The only downers are the frogs are driving me crazy with their noise. It is like a rock concert outside and I'm thinking ear plugs might be needed to get to sleep. And the worst... I got bit by chiggers a week ago and I'm well into the agonizing itching and weeping sores stage. It's awful. I hate hate hate chiggers and can't believe I had them in my yard since they've never been a problem before. I'm assuming they were hiding along the fence we were tearing down since they don't like being disturbed. Believe me I'm going to be doubling up on the bug spray when I go out to finish the job!

Oh what a beeeeaaa-uti-fuuuul day!!! Yep I sang that! The senior luncheon was fun. We have a new coordinator and she isn't very friendly! We came in and she was barking orders! I sang today, because a nice gentleman asked me to. I guess my friend who I ride with was standing next to the coordinator and my friend commented,"well that was nice". The coordinator said,"she needs to work more and sing less". My friend replied, "what is she not doing that needs to get done??". The coordinator didn't say anything. I told my friend thank you for sticking up for me!! I was polite to her, and will continue to be, its just sad to see someone so frowny! But its not my business.
I rec'd some cheese bread that husband has attacked already! Tonight I made my famous chicken fried rice. 6 cups of prepared white rice, 8 slices of bacon cut small, 1 huge hunk of chicken breast cut up small, and 4 eggs! Combine until smiling son looks at you with thankful eyes. Oh I also drizzle with tonkastu sauce. If you google 'bulldog sauce', you can find it. We like it because its not too soy saucy, and has a mild sweet flavor. There is maybe 2 cups left, which son will inhale for breakfast and take for his lunch!
Went shopping today and found good deals! It was military recognition day so we get an extra 10% off. We have $19 left for the rest of the month, but I am thrift queen so we shall be fine. Thank goodness we don't have a trip to Portland for a doctors appointment!!
Be well all!

After last weekend's efforts, this semi-long weekend will be a recovery weekend. Hoping to get out for short bicycle rides (50 km-ish) where we'll stop at a café for lunch and I might even take some photos for a change.
Then I really need to get busy with my grad school homework. I kind of fell behind when I was training for last weekend's events.

Love you, Girls!
Sarah - I would expect that you will cross the magical line into Onderland before me... the Puffy Princess tends to linger... The cow! But, I will be doing squats in your honor as you arrive in that magical land of Lightness!
Kim - Oh my gosh - the colors on those pictures is amazing - you could use those shots for a camera commercial. Gorgeous!
SueBDew - looks like you and DH had a great time... But, I imagine you are still glad to be home.
Heather - I have LOVED all the pics of your family fun. Keep em coming! And have a wonderful time in France.
Lisa - GRATZ on your vacation and the upcoming start at the new job. I know you will ROCK IT!
Karen/VA - HI!!!
Michele - I know, right? I wouldn't think of that either - guess we just aren't criminals at heart, eh?
Mia - Love the hair! You wild child.. such lovely spring colors.
Becca - $19.00 and ten days... I know you can do it! Queen of Thrift, I bow before your Smiling, Singing Sweetness.
Thanks to all for the kind comments about my internet stupidity. Perhaps nothing will come of it - but, I would pretty much expect to be written up. It's just something that I would do, if I were the boss - so, I could hardly expect any less. I had that moment of " I have no idea what you are talking about " when my Boss said I had been uploading to a non-sanctioned website... Uploading? What are you talking about? Then I was like... oh crap. The pictures... *sigh* Oh well. It just keeps me from getting too comfy or cocky, doesn't it?
Anyway - we can only live one day at a time - so I will worry about whatever happens when it happens. Until then, tomorrow is JAMMIE DAY!!
Hugs for Everybody!!

Hi all!
DH has gone off to cricket. We were talking this morning about what to have for dinner tonight and I got out some minced beef for chilli. Then, just as I was getting on the rowing machine I remembered we were going out tonight for dinner at the pub with DH's cricket friend and his wife. I'm still going to cook the chilli, have it tomorrow and leave him some for while I'm away.
Over the grandchildren's stay we missed out on two days official exercise. I lost half a pound and DH lost a pound!!!!!!!!!!
Missing them so much, but we've got a lot to look forward to. My French trip, my trip to London with my girlfriends, Max's 6th birthday party. Phew!
I'm plucking up my courage to put the wifi printer onto the new modem. Mainly so I can print out my boarding card for Sunday.
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxx4 -

Hey all! Good morning and happy Friday! Safe travels to those of you on your way...
Just wanted to share a little "eureka" moment I have had with my meals/health. I have been dealing with major heartburn every night. I have been trying to figure out what food(s) is causing it. I just realized that with my DYS now working about 45 minutes to an hour away, we are having dinner at about 7:00-7:30. I go to sleep most nights at 8:30-9:00. It dawned on me that is just the fact that I am eating a "meal" that close to bedtime, then laying down...hello heartburn and regurge (sorry if TMI). So earlier this week, I switched up my dinner to be just a protein shake or yogurt and fruit. Since it is not what DH and DYS are eating, I usually have it by 5:30/6:00. Three nights of no heartburn! Woo-hoo! Sleeping so much easier!
Love and hugs to all who need them ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)6 -

KJ - Great thinking! It obviously works well for you. I couldn't do without a "proper" dinner, with main, dessert and cheese, followed by one bonbon. Four courses. I have the main sometime between 6pm - 6.30 pm, the dessert around 8 pm (stewed fruit and homemade yogurt ) , the 1 oz of cheese soon after that and a bonbon around 9 pm. If I don't have a 'real meal' I feel deprived and then will start picking and raiding the fridge. :noway: We go to bed much sooner than we used to - soonish after 10 pm usually, but we read until 11 pm. I like to read to calm my brain.
Tonight will be later with our socialising. Trying to decide what to wear.
Had my lovely Hot Asian Prawn Soup for lunch. A heavenly hit for 250 cals. I save it for when DH is out.
Haven't tackled the printer yet.

Good morning!! It's cloudy and may rain today. TGIF!!
Have a great day!
Marcelyn I sure understand those chiggers. They are awful here in Arkansas. Make sure you have long pants and socks and shoes. All you have to do is brush by a shrub and they'll jump on you. I talked to a guy that told me he dusts himself with sulpher powder. If you can shower when you come in because they don't attach to you for 2 days.
CityjameLondon I agree about having a proper dinner. We eat about 4:30 pm and I have a snack later on.

Happy Friday everyone (or Jammie day), I am looking forward to a restful weekend.

Margaret: I love the "Faith, Hope, Love" plate with the hyacinths. It is a lovely photo and wonderful message.
Yvonne in TX: Kickball was a game I could play, so I liked it. Softball was hopeless for me. I couldn't hit the ball. I had energy, but little coordination or skill back in the day. Nowadays I can hit a yellow jacket with an electronic bug zapper. Perhaps my glasses improve my aim. I know I'm motivated and that is likely the real deal-maker.
Alison: We have a supplemental insurance that picks up the cost of an annual eye exam.
I found this online: "Original Medicare, Part A and Part B, does not generally cover routine eye exams for eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, Medicare Part B will cover an annual eye exam every 12 months if you have diabetes or are at high risk for glaucoma."
Lanette: DH got his glasses yesterday and drove home from the eye doctor. He is a much happier man.
Joyce: I've had similar experiences with embarrassing loss of control but not for a few years. I threw undies in the trash more than once and used quite a lot of Immodium in my daily life. I still have it available but I rarely need it anymore. MFP was a change agent in many ways. I stopped indulging in things like Starbucks Coffee with tons of sweet stuff in it, among other things. Their non-dairy creamers didn't protect me from lactose intolerance. Maybe it was the sugar and not the creamer. I don't know. I use sugar in cooking but stevia in my coffee now. I hope you are able to figure it out.
Barbie: It is interesting that your dogs go to bed when it is their bedtime. Our current dog waits for the last human to go to bed and gets up with the first to awaken. Our last girl went to bed when she was ready regardless of what people were doing after she reached a certain age.
Re: I hope the internet business at work comes out with minimal negative consequences. Can you take your own computer, phone or tablet in and use it on break?
Heather: If you and DH lost weight while the grandchildren were with you despite missing your regular exercise, it is clear how busy you really were.
Lanette: Thanks for the baby giraffe photo.
Dana: Dolly has soulful eyes. What a charmer!
Yoga today, and I plan to go out to the stable and help set up for an event this weekend. They have a guest presenter coming in who will be doing a cutting horse clinic using a fake cow that operates by remote control. I plan to watch part of the clinic and will take a picture of the "cow" if I can. My teacher will be a student in this clinic. :flowerforyou:

Hi ladies. It is a gorgeous, sunny day here which really lifts my mood. I have had several melt downs the last few days. All the legal stuff, not-so DD#1 and her Easter antics, and then DH’s visit with the financial advisor and coming home with choices to make on Medicare, supplements, social security….omg it’s just too much. I was already a little worked up over him retiring soon…it just makes me very nervous. But now to be hit with all of this at once is crazy.
I went to my counselor yesterday and she really honed in on what she views as a power struggle with DD#1. I’m not sure I see it that way. I think it’s more of a common courtesy thing; why would you schedule something without telling anyone until the last minute, schedule it at the same time, and then blame the other person? DH and DD#2 were witnesses to the conversation, so I’m not totally crazy! LOL.
I also have a request…if anyone here is a member of s-anon, would you consider being a long-distance sponsor? You can email me privately. My little group has no sponsors and the only other group in NE is in Lincoln. I emailed them but never have gotten a response.
DJ: happy belated birthday!
Mia: your cutwork is beautiful! So is your new “do”!
Kim: gorgeous pictures!
Sharon: I hope things get better at work, or at least you are able to not be so stressed by them!
Heather: good job on the loss!
Lisa: being from an old military family, I have heard that phrase about kids for years! I hadn’t heard it for a while, so your story brought back memories.
Sarah: hope you feel better soon and find your way to onederland!
Allie: hang in there; I’m sending you good and strong thoughts!
Dana: wow your foot/leg did improve and I hope it continues!
Michele: doing the cougar workout!!! Now that sounds like something for me!!!
Beth: sending (((hugs))) your way
DJ: I have cruise envy! Where are you going?
Lanette: stick to your guns! Love the giraffe photo!
GRIT: NO they do not ever grow up…see my remarks about DD#1. But I do feel for you! All that family drama is wearing on one’s soul. Take care.
Kim: you and Rori will have such fun!
Kelly: ah, yes….eating then lying down…no good! Glad you can control it now!
Dana: I LOVE your dogs, especially Dolly. I just love hounds!!! Can she come visit? I am missing my Benny Beagle.
OK ladies, time to get up and give an exam. We still continue to slog on with the legal issues…looks like DH will be taking some kind of plea deal, which does not make me happy, but I have accepted that I have no control over any of this. Thank you s-anon! Take care, Meg from Omaha

Just a quick question: Have any of you seen a message board for breastfeeding moms? My DD is on MFP, but hasn't been logging in because of all of the calories she has to consume to produce milk for Joaquin. Wondering if there is a board that can help her with the "best" food options, types of exercise she CAN do or basic breastfeeding mama health advice. I hesitate to throw this question out to the masses on MFP; because I have seen some of the trolls and the message boards they set up/frequent. Thanks for any help! Kelly2
-
(((Meg))) be very kind to yourself. I agree you are on overload. The magic word now is NOOO! Try to only do the things that nurture you. Best you can let go of the rest. I would put not so DD#1 on the back burner. She may be under tremendous stress too and reacting irrationally for reasons you do not have the energy to handle at the moment. As it Frozen LET IT GO!
Love that song!
