Are there any protein bars that don't taste like a stick of chalk?

Special K ones are pretty tasty

Robert Irvine's Fit Crunch6

The Oh yeah! one bars are pretty good in my opinion (especially the maple donut and white birthday cake flavors) =p it makes you feel like you're eating something cakey(unlike the taffy texture quest bars have). You pay with a litttttle more carbs then some others but the macros are still worth it imo (i think 24g carbs, and 21 gram protein)5

Kirkland bars, oh yeah, pure protien are good.8

I like the quest cookies and cream and vanilla almond flavors the best... These aren't the most popular, but I like them way better than the others. The cookie and almond bits seem to help with the texture.
But really? Like, actually delicious? Actually a healthy candy bar? No. Lies. All lies.15 -
Pure protein - most of theirs taste pretty good, esp. strawberry9

I don't mind the chocolate mint Clif bars. But they are not Mars bars for sure.7

My goodness there are tons of them. Pure Protein Peanut Butter Caramel is out of this world. All of the Zone Perfect ones are yummy, as are the Special K. What ones have you tried?5 -

Oh Yeah ONE Birthday Cake and Almond Bliss. Also the Grenade ones are pretty awesome as well. FitJoy has a few good flavors - the best being their Christmas/Holiday selection which includes Peppermint Bark and Gingerbread Cookie.3

Smart forLife from Costco or on line.
They are more like a rice crispy square covered in chocolate.
About 20g protein for under 200 cals.
Premier are cake like with little crunch balls in them. Mint is good.
About 30g protein for 300 cals.
Cheers, h.

Peppermint Bark protein bars --- sign me up!1 -
Clif Bars taste very good. Luna bars are pretty good as well.5

I like Clif Builder peanut butter chocolate bars. They're crispy and don't have that thick, gummy consistency (Quest) or chalky flavor (ThinkThin). I also like Muscle Brownies, though some people think they have too much of the chemical "protein bar" flavor.5

Another vote for One Yeah One birthday cake bars here. I also enjoy the coconut almond ones, too.
I know this isn't a bar, but Lenny and Larry''s Lemon Poppyseed cookies are quite nice, too, imho.2 -
I like the Power Bar protien bars. My favorite is the Peanut Butter Caramel. Reminds me of a snickers. The Vanilla ones are nasty tho!0

Yup and pretty surprisingly tasty.5 -
I eat the ones from ALDI several days a week. Greek Yogurt, Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Strawberry. They offer 10g protein and are pretty balanced. They taste good. I am not too fond of the super protein bars, the ones that are closer to 20g. For protein loading I drink a Body Fortress Chocolate Peanut Butter shake with offers 30g per scoop and little if any fat or carb. Of course the price from ALDI is pretty good. https://www.aldi.us/en/grocery-home/aldi-brands/fit-active/pantry-items/pantry-detail/ps/p/fit-active-strawberry-protein-meal-bars/1

I've tried Quest cinnamon roll and another one I can't remember the name of.1

Where did you find them? These are my 2 favorite chocolate bars and if I could pass them off as protein bars......
Now wondering if I can find them in Canada.
Google here I come.5 -

A friend brought me some over from the UK... I have not seen them in the USA.1 -
Quest bars are gross. They don't taste like chalk, but they're sickeningly sweet. Otherwise, they'd be pretty good.
Zone protein bars DO NOT taste chalky. They taste like candy bars, but not sickeningly sweet like Quest bars.
This thread is so informative. Now I'm on the lookout for Snickers protein bars!2 -
Allright @Chef_Barbell You are just mean.
Only place to find them is one retailer on Amazon.ca that want $268 for a case of 18. Almost $15 a bar.
Even on Amazon.com (that won't ship to Canada) they are almost $7 a bar.
Just mean......3 -

I know... and I ate all of mine a while back.0 -
I like Think Thin Brownie Crunch or Espresso chocolate. They also came out with a lemon one that is pretty good. I've tried the others mentioned here but I like a higher protein low carb bar like think thin that has just the right amount of calories for me too.0

Thanks for the research @Tacklewasher.
I can see I will be bringing back a couple of boxes of the mars bars when I go to the UK next month, if I can find them.
I wonder if they deep fry well.
Cheers, h.3 -
