Can I be in again please with a target of 80 miles?
8 -
I'm in for 70 miles this month. Nothing amazing, but happily maintaining a lower base while focussing on strength and cross-training. A 10km 'race' booked, but with the elevation that it has, I won't be 'racing' that in any way what-so-ever!6
-
Total WAG here, but going to say 113 miles based on my quick look at the calendar.
Welcome to all the new crazies5 -
I am in this month for 50 miles. That is subject to change if my hammies don't do as well as I am hoping they will. I should get a good idea of where I am at tomorrow. It has been 6+ weeks since Boston and I am very pleased with my restraint not to run. And I didn't even kill anyone, so May was a total (zero mile) victory! Bring on June!
Welcome to all the new members! So good to see so many new faces. @silkennash - Good luck on your first marathon!8 -
I'm back. I'll set a goal of 30 miles so as to not overwhelm myself.11

I am in for 150 miles this month. May the Texas weather have mercy on me.8

Hey, I'd like to join/follow this thread. I've completed day one of week 2 of the C25k program. I don't know how many miles that would be for June, but I think I'd like to shoot for being on week 5 of the program at June 30. That is conservative enough I hope. I currently walk about 6 miles a day most days. So far I'm enjoying it, though it is a much different muscle set that is sore afterward.10

Hi
I am new to running. My wants to be a runner but my body is not there yet so I am a walk/runner. I would like to set a goal of 60Km for the month of June. Here is too a successful month good luck everyone!
I will clock my km's weekly.

In for June challenge. Goal: 100 km. May was way off the mark as I was not motivated enough. This time going to make it work. No thinking and planning, just running. Goal is to run 4 times per week.6
-
I'm in for 150 this month with an event goal of finishing my first official half marathon.

Doing 115 miles again this month, letting the added distance sink in along with all this wonderful heat. Sticking with my daily double on Wednesday and I'll be upping my long run towards the end of the month (I think it barely makes it onto this month's schedule)4
-
@Sliedur - W2D1 of C25K? Wow, you found us early in your running career! Don't be intimidated by those us who run a lot more than you do. I may be running 6 days for 50+ mile weeks now, but I started out about 3 weeks behind where you are right now. Marathon runners are made, not born.
@need2move2 - Welcome! Being a walk/runner is fine. That's where most of us started. Some move on to continual running, some decide walk/running is their thing for the long term. It's all good.6 -
I'm in for another 25 miles this month.5

Yay! 'Cuz this group just ain't the same with out the regulars! (And I need comeback company and inspiration).5 -
Friday will be W4D3 of C25K for me. Right now, I go about 2.2 miles combined walk/run per session. Vacation (2 days driving in each direction, then 4.5 days at Disney World walking walking walking) means I will miss a week of C25K, so I ought to be finishing W7 at the end of June.
By my math, that's 20 miles for June.8 -

@juliet3455 I need that for my son in the army. He's just out of OSET and stationed at Ft Stewart and is having a rough go of it. Someone shoved him down and stole his phone and he had to get stitches. And he got in trouble just 3-4 days in drinking.
Where did you get that? Like at a Ranger Joe's?0 -

From High Mileage Road Warriors to Low Mileage Plodders, Middle of the Pack Racers, Elites, Trail Hounds, Treadmill Thrashers, Track Circlers and Winter Warriors. Race Masters to Race Haters.
Some enter events just for the excuse to travel, collect a Race Bib, Finisher Medal and a Unique Shirt.
Others enter events for the additional Training Motivation from a hard date on a calendar.
Then there's some Lady in Australia who runs multiple HM distances in training just for the fun of it. ( she now has more HM distance fun run's than I have HM's ).
Mothers who are amazing and have amazing talented daughters. etc, etc.
We all fit into this group. No question is out of Bounds or Foolish.
Wisdom comes from Experience, Experience comes from making mistakes and self discovery.
As any athlete knows you will have good days/weeks and bad ones so - "Embrace The Suck"
Have Fun and Run - just a little further than last month/year.
Elites? We got elites? (Looks around.) I missed them. I haven't seen anyone here faster than me. But I've seen all the other types you list.
Oh, you mean *I* am an elite? I don't think so. I get around pretty well for a 61 year old guy, and I have a couple of medals saying I'm an elite master for age grading well; but the real elites will blow past me like I'm standing still. Even the real elite masters will leave me in the dust; there were a couple guys over 65 that finished well ahead of me in my PR 8K and 10K races, and when we're all healthy I shouldn't even be the top 60+ runner on my own team.
I'll confess to being a High Mileage Road Warrior, a sometime Track Circler, a Winter Warrior, and maybe even a Race Master. But I'm not an elite. Those guys get free shoes.16 -
Only in for 200 this month as taper against Banff takes up almost half the month, then I race Banff and I expect my legs will be feeling it until July
@MobyCarp lets face facts, you're the challenge group elite for sure!
4 -
@MobyCarp you're elite. Own it.1
-
@JessicaMcB you're mileage is double mine with a similar schedule. You're a beast.0
-
I'm the elite. Enduring Lots of Idiotic Training Everymorning!16
-
Actually, @MobyCarp is beyond elite. He is l33t. So l33t.4
-
My goal for June is 100 miles. I haven't been running much the last month or so. Hopefully I will be able to build my endurance up fast. Good luck everyone! Can't wait to see updates.4

I'm in!
