FelicIa - Have a great holiday! I'm sure you will be back running again now you've got the coeliac under control. I have a friend who was late diagnosed and she is now one of the fittest people I know at the age of 61. She's just done a 10k and last year walked 400 miles in 6 weeks.
Well girls, my pigs cheeks were wonderful. Meltingly soft and very flavourful recipe. I've never eaten them before so I had no idea what to expect. I've seen celebrity cooks doing them on TV. We've got another meal left to freeze. Hooray! DH approved.
Looking forward to seeing the family tomorrow. As always I'm a bit nervous about the b&b, but I've Googled everything I could Google. I hope it's worth the huge price we are paying. DH hasn't given me his half share yet. Hope he doesn't have a heart attack! We'll be leaving just before 12.30 after an early lunch. Parking in my son's front yard.
Barbie - Great pic with the trousers. (Pants) You look very happy.

felicia you will get back to running, one step at a time. Keep your eyes on the road ahead not behind. Enjoy your vacation with the kiddos, sounds like fun.

Allie: I think Tom ruined the marriage on his own. He's been a J*ck*ss as long as I've known you. His girlfriend was not ethical but it is the married person's responsibility to be faithful. I hope he gets his just reward and you get everything you deserve in the divorce. :flowerforyou:4

Heather ~ Had to look up pig's cheeks. Ugh! Glad you enjoyed them.
Becca ~ My kitchen is covered in appliances. I have all the frying pans on top of the microwave. But, it works for me.
Felicia ~ Have fun on your vacation. Sounds like you have a lot of fun activities planned.

Barbie Thank you for posting that inspiring photo! I would like to see one more of you wearing them (I am thinking two Barbies could fit into that one pair of pants). I can't wait until I can post a picture like that on this thread.
Cheri and I had a nice lunch with her husband and daughter. It was great to catch up. Cheri is doing an AWESOME job on her weight loss journey, and looks better than ever! She and Mitch shared some tips they learned from the "Naturally Slim" program. For example, eating only when hunger level reaches the "3" level. I have long been in the habit of eating automatically, eating when not actually hungry, & eating when only a little bit hungry. The last time I had great success with weight loss and a healthy lifestyle, I followed a number of simple guidelines: Logging all food, keeping protein shakes at work for emergencies, eating only when hungry (but not too hungry), doing resistance & aerobic exercise, getting adequate sleep, and keeping trigger foods out of the house. I need to get back to those guidelines. I am slacking in 3 of the 6 areas.
Our local grandkids have been here for the last couple of days. They have been great, but they are ready to be home. Mom will be here in a few minutes to pick them up. Their other grandparents are transitioning into assisted living and it has been really tough on everybody because of an adult child who has been living with them and mismanaging their affairs. This adult child has been angry and in the way as the other adult children are helping with the transition.
Jillian has Champs in the morning! She qualified in 3 events, Backstroke, Butterfly, and Freestyle. Yea!

JoyceHaha! You asked about my blue dishwasher, and truth be told its just a plain white dishwasher with the blue protective coating still on it!!!! Haha! I couldn't bring myself to remove it!!!

Hello all: It is blessedly cooler today, not raining, just cloudy. Did my yoga this morning and talked to my best friend who lives in Parker, CO. She is probably going to come visit in October. I am really looking forward to her visit as she has not seen our new place yet. Will get the RV ready for her as she is allergic to cats and would be miserable in the house with three of them.
Gloria - Good to see your face, stop in again when you can and let us know what is going on with you and yours.
Karen and Cheri - Cute pic, glad you got to meet up.
Barbie - Great picture, wow!
Well I need to go out and check on the critters to make sure they all have water and let horses out in the pasture. Everyone take care, Sue in WA3 -
Katla. Yep it was nice of him to call, but actually they are in a line and are instructed to call home! Hense the excited tone of his voice. I know I would have just boohoo'ed if I had answered the phone!

Allie - good that Tom is leaving for FLA for a while and you can have the house to yourself for packing and stowing away valuables you run across.
Heather - DH is the same way about loud thumping bass. It almost makes him go postal, especially when trying to relax and sleep. Worse than fireworks! Glad you can get away, hope the B&B is better than you expect! DH was telling me about Dunkirk - he's a WWII buff. What a sad memory for your dad; mine was in a pretty bad situation on Adak Island in the Aleutians. Never said a word about it other than he had a picture of him holding a baby fox and a photo of a dead Japanese soldier. Lots to ponder about our upbringing by fathers who went thru this war and kept so much inside.
Becca - glad your son called! Love your tidy kitchen - I bet people would hire to help them get organized. You know, if you ever would want to do a little part-time work, there are services called something like "help at home" where the person comes in and does what you are doing for Prudence plus a little light housework and gets paid, not sure how much, but the person is an employee and gets paid by the service. If I didn't have so much on my plate right now I'd look into it. A couple hours twice a week for some extra cash might be nice at some point. Good that Prudence seems to have "gotten the message" - did you stop by to take care of her pills this morning?
Barbie - neat photo of the "smaller you". What a great testament to your hard work!!
Katla - so sorry to hear of DH's car woes! Sure hope this repair is the last for a long, long time.
Well, I went to see the doc this morning about my "tingling" hands. She's an orthopedic doc - thinks I have nerve impingement due to my weightlifting (upper body) and need some physical therapy to see about strengthening back muscles. I think that's great! I told her I didn't want to give this up and am glad for the opportunity to have someone critique and help me along the path. The PT place is right next door to the gym I go to. My appointment is next Thursday morning. In the meantime, I am to reduce the upper body weights a bit until the therapist gets me back on track.
That's the catch-up on this nice cooler day! Have a great evening!!

Its Thursday, and Prudence has yet to knock. I guess, she has moved on to either doing her pills herself, or having someone else fill the pill container. Kind of a double wammy with both son gone, and neighborly friendship gone too. Enjoying not being accountable to no one though. Even logged my food for the day today. Husband and I walked for 50 minutes this morning. Took a bunch of items to goodwill! Now I need a new laundry basket! Used that to pile it all and just handed the basket to the goodwill worker. On our walk I left the cute snail rock but found this one!

Hello, all,
Just checking in... Still alive, still contemplative. Montana (and especially camping without my husband) reminded me of a number of things, including how good I actually have it. It was a much-needed reminder.
Appointment this morning with a new local doctor who actually heard what I had to say, unlike the VA medic-critters, and have hope of some changes. Steroid shots in both knees this morning, didn't know they could do them here, but saved me a 180-mile round trip to an orthopedic doc, so yay for new doctors who listen. Fingers crossed they work for me. She's a tiny little thing, absolutely beautiful, hoped she could understand what I'm trying to accomplish, and she did. Thus the shots.
Love y'all--been reading all along, and so proud of y'all. We don't tread an easy path, and you tread it with grace and style, and venting here helps us all maintain our balance.
Allie, proud of you in particular. Proud to see you reaching for your own life and not just holding your breath for this to be over. You are strong, and you are loved, and that's obvious.
I'll be back full force in August. Thanks for your patience with me as I've been on my internal journey. For that, you get a picture of one tired Egg.
Love, Lisa in West Texas

Hello Witty Women!
It's another glorious day in Texas... HOT outside, freezing in my office. I suppose I can be glad to be chilled, as once again, we had layoffs and once again, I survived the cut. Our team is down to a meager five people, now - so there is even more work to go around - but, that is all to the good. One HOPES that at some point, they will stop laying folks off so there are enough people to get the job done...*sighs.*
I have always said that the Loan Modification Department was going to end up as three people in a broom closet... and we are getting closer to that every month... I just hope I am one of the three. Nothing like trying to find work in a world saturated with people who have been recently laid off from the same type of work... and being well paid and older than the rest of the available candidates... I would just as soon skip that, Thank you very much!
******************************
Becca - I was also admiring the blue dishwasher. LOVE that it's just the plastic sheet left on... I also like the decals on it... I can't quite make out what they are - birds? fish? Both? But it looks cool. I wish my kitchen was half as well organized... it's more like controlled chaos at my house... I really need to start taking one cupboard at a time and cleaning it out and organizing... Hugs on your empty nest... From the newsfeed, I see you are still walking the dog.... but, I suppose that is just for the exercise... not because you are a big ol' softie. Loving the Rock pictures!
Kate - It's been AGES since I have been to a movie theatre... mostly because it's hard on DH to sit in those narrow seats... He makes up for the lack of cinema visits by downloading a ton of movies that we watch at home.
Heather - The pigs cheeks - in hard cider? Or just your garden variety apple? Sounds good, either way... LOL. Enjoy the visit with your Darlings... Was Edie in Pirates of Penzance? Or just some other random pirate production? She is adorable!
Barbie - I second the idea of seeing you in one leg of the old pants... You have really done some fabulous work! you are an inspiration to us all.
Josephine - Does the sweet face in your profile pic belong to a grandchild? Pull up a keyboard and tell us about yourself. And take heart... it's not FAST and it's not EASY - but it IS basic math... Calories in vs Calories out. You can adjust the numbers by eating less, or exercising more... whichever works best for your life. Even if you only lose a pound a month - it's a pound you don't ever have to see, again - and hey, that month is going to pass, anyway... what you weigh at the end of it is up to you. Hugs!
Katla - Hugs! Hope you get to visit with your horse, soon.
ORMother - Have a great vacation! And gratz on staring the running, again! If my knees weren't so much *kitten* I might take it up. But, with the arthritis from "heck" I am going to just stick to the elliptical.
Margaret - Sorry about the car!
Allie - *sighs* I don't know what TomCat gains by delaying the deposition... really. I hope it is over with, soon - just for your peace of mind. Any word on the Temporary Alimony? I just hope he does go to Florida and leaves you a little breathing room for a week or two. And can you say Karma? Sure y' can.
Karen - Great picture of you and Cheri! And what a cutie your DGD is.
Sue - Hope you have a great time with your friend! And how nice that you have a place she can stay without suffering from the cats.
Lanette - Hope your PT is as great as mine was! And you can hardly go wrong with strengthening exercises - Back Strengthening ought to be good for your whole core...
Lisa - Good to see you, Sugar! And pictures of Egg are always welcome. Alas, these days, my cat experiences are all vicarious. But there is only so much I can handle taking care of... and I am at max capacity with just myself and my DH. So glad the new Doc is listening! And - just remember - for the knees... quads, quads, hammies and more quads! Hugs!!

Well, DH had a temporary crown put in, this morning - so, I am uncertain as to what dinner might entail... probably soup for him. I will find something that fits the budget tonight - since I used up one of my two days of Not under budget, last night...
I am a little bit miffed with the Dentist.... I scheduled my cleaning for the same time as DH's crown - and when I was done, I asked the Dentist how long it would be for DH to be finished... I figured if it was long, I would just trot down the street to the gym - but, she said "five minutes." Uh huh. Try and hour! *sighs* They could have told me it was going to be longer when they had a hitch... but no. So, I didn't get my strength training done, this morning - which puts me behind on the week.
July Goals for the week 7/23 – 7/29
400 calories under budget 5X: OOXXX
Weights/Abdominals 3X: OOX
Planks 3X: XXX
I actually have met my planks for the week - maybe I will do extra planks and just accept a short strength week. I don't want to burn out my poor old body trying to work it hard two days in a row - and I don't really have time to do it, either.
Anyway - I have much to do before I can head out for the gym... I still have to do my cardio - because by the time we were actually done at the Dentist, I couldn't even get that in. Oh well...
I do have an NSV, though... because with all the lay-offs and dental aggravation - I have managed not to stress-eat...
Hugs for Everybody!!

Hello ladies! Just checking in. My DH has a job interview with his present company down in Arizona tomorrow morning at 8:00am. All the prayers and positive thoughts would be appreciated! We really liked Dodge City Kansas but that is not with the company he's working for now. Hopefully by Monday night we will know what we are doing and where we will be going.
This will be our home wherever we go.
