Sorry to hear you are not feeling to well right now but like others mention before, your progress is great progress. I may not comment all the time but I have followed your progress since the very beginning. The fact that you keep trying no matter what kept me motivated when you kept losing. I sometimes don't lose for a week or two and it gets to me but you have kept trying even when you have other issues going on in your life which makes me kick myself and keep motivated. Keep going your doing a great job!!3

you have gotten some great advice , I want to remind you every lb you do not gain is also a victory . you can do this ( maybe not quite 200 in a year but you are starting with a high weigh so even at 2500 cal you should loose quickly ) Think hard about what foods you choose to surround yourself with . the more healthy low calorie foods you can keep around you the better . try hard to add lots of fiber rich foods they keep you full longer . and keep healthy low salt nibbles around, decreased salt intake, helps keep you from holding water weight . so plain almonds ,and walnuts are healthy snacks log them . as well as any veg cooked or raw to eat out of hand when you just must put something in your mouth ( breaking the nibbles habit is hard if you try to not have snacks so switch to snacks that are going to keep you on track ) and make friends and keep posting so you will know you are not alone !

I wanted to share this article with you because I know you want to lose a lot, very quickly, and I just really feel like you need to understand that while it might feel great to lose a lot of weight fast, in the end it can be really tough on your body and it can set you up for failure in the homestretch. I know a lot of people have been giving you this advice but it still seems like your daily calorie goal is pretty low. I worry about you getting sick from lowering your calories too much too soon.
Someone here advised me to lower my calorie goal gradually and and re-calculate for every 10 lbs lost. It's great advice and it hasn't hurt my weight loss.
You and I started this journey the same day. Yours was one of the first posts I saw when I came here. I've been trying to lose weight for years and this is the first time I've ever felt that I could do it and keep it off in the end. And it's because of all the support and encouragement and also really helpful, real world information, which is something that I never got from my doctor.
When I started, my goal was to lose 45% of my weight. In three months, I've managed to lose 4.5% already and my calorie goal has been pretty easy to keep up with over that time. Some days I over do it and try to make up for it the next day. Someone else here suggested that you should monitor your calorie goal over a week and I think that's reasonable. I've also noticed that if I stay too low for too long, I stop losing. So I up my calories and miraculously start losing again!
I used the calculator here: https://caloriecontrol.org/healthy-weight-tool-kit/assessment-calculator/ to figure out how much my goal should be. But I don't take the recommendation from where it says, "to lose weight". I take the number of calories it takes to maintain my weight and multiply that by .8. So basically, I'm at 80% of maintenance to lose. And it has been working well, as long as I follow it and also as long as I stay away from sugar. If I eat too much sugar for too many days, my arthritis flares up like there's no tomorrow. Cut out as much added or refined sugar and high fructose corn syrup as possible, and you might start feeling better. Let me know if you're looking for strategies to to this because it's super hard. Sugar addition is real.
I think your goal was to lose 200 lbs in one year and pretty much everyone said it's dangerous, don't even attempt it. Your doctor should be telling you the same thing by the way. You've already lost 5.2% of your starting weight! Which is amazing! You have certainly put the work in, and you're seeing progress which has to be rewarding! The bottom line now is that you are no longer on a diet. You are eating healthfully in order to feel better. You will need to eat this way for the rest of your life, so you have to make choices that you can sustain. It is so worth it, YOU are worth it! And you can do it!

You are doing fantastic!0

At 1 lb per week, the "normal" amount you should expect to lose in a year would be 52 lbs. Double that is 104 lbs.8

Wow you're doing great!!0

How is it possible to be down 2 pounds one day and up 9 pounds another. Something off there.5

Many things can cause water weight (which isn't fat).
Water can be retained in the muscles for repair, if you've done new-to-you exercise.
In females, hormones cause lots of water weight issues (not your issue, but just FYI).
Eating more carbs or sodium than your body is used to will cause water weight. (I can't remember the scientific reason behind it.)
Travel/flying can cause water weight. I gain like 8 pounds in one flight.
Excessive temperatures can cause water weight.
I suspect you indulged a bit at Christmas, and now you're seeing the carbs/sodium water weight, plus the extra food actually still in your system. Get back on plan, do what you know to do, and it will come back off in about 4-6 days.
I went up 4 pounds overnight due to Christmas eating. It's all good.10
