Bit of a update i have heard from the doctor about my thyroids i have a appointment on the 12th and its most likely ill be in for surgery as early as the 15th. So bit of good news. Now bit of bad news i was told by income support (the people that pay for my medical trips and what not) that they may not cover my trip to see the doctor and if they dont cover it i have no way to get there.9

That sucks. Do you need special transport or can you just hitch a ride with someone? Not to condone getting into cars with strangers you met on the internet, but if anyone in your area is reading...?2 -

I'd thumb it if was a opinion but i doubt anyone will pick me up(not to worried about being kidnapped or anything) If there is anyone in my area traveling and would take me I'd be more then open to that but its a 8 hour drive

That's terrible. Are there any nonprofit organizations, service clubs, church groups, etc. in your area that might provide funds for your trip or transport you themselves?2 -

You could set up a "Gofundme" account. I am sure there are many people who would help out with a few dollars...3

I can spare a few to help get you there, is that your post?0 -
Honestly, watch the show “Extreme Weightloss” on YouTube. It’s by Chris and Heidi Powell, they train people to lose hundreds of pounds in one year. I didn’t have that much to lose but I.T motivated me so much and taught me so much about consistency, dedication, nutrition, exercise etc. pretty much all the episodes are uploaded by multiple people on YouTube5

More or less by the time they look into it and decide to help or not and even if they can help by the time i get the money for travel it will be past the date of my appointment3

I'm so sorry that you're in this difficult situation. One thing that I suggest you consider, if you have not already, is how you will handle your ongoing medical travel needs. Assuming that you are approved for surgery, you'll need additional trips for the surgery itself and for follow-up care. This will require an ongoing source of transportation support at least in the short-term. Perhaps once the surgery is completed and initial follow-up is done with your current doctor, you can transfer to a local doctor. That is something you may need to plan ahead of time.
Have you reached out to your local United Way? United Way agencies commonly have the knowledge of and contacts with other community groups who may be able to assist you. At least they do here in the US. I'm assuming they probably do in Canada as well. Perhaps United Way staff could point you in the right direction, in terms of what nonprofits and other groups to contact.5 -

Everyone supporting BJ ought to post his gofundme link on their social media
getting a video together even 30 seconds saying what it's for would really help3 -

I'm going to try and do a Video done up but I'm really bad with words and worse when it comes to being on camera i may have to write what I'm going to say first.

YES
write down exactly what information you want to share. Edit it, get someone to check it, then just read it out
create a Twitter account, make your post with the gofundme link and video your 'pinned tweet' then get everyone to retweet it
happy to help if you need it1 -
Is it not possible for your current doctor to refer you to the nearer doctor? So they send all your test results etc over? I realise you want to get this surgery as soon as possible, that's very understandable - so maybe try and set this up for afterwards. It isn't just the financial cost of travel, it's a hassle for you as well. Plus if you need more urgent treatment having a doctor locally with all your records is a good idea. Good luck with it all in any case1

Unfortunately it don't. It states "services which are not available in their immediate area of residence" and there is a doctor that is 2 hours away that dose it too but he's booked up and long list to see him. I dont have said long time.0
