Machka, your hair is beautiful. As you can see by this picture, mine is short, gray and thin. Getting it cut tomorrow as it is over my ears a little.

Thanks ... and I like yours too. It suits you. I also like the description of silver. :) I have thought that if I ever got completely fed up with mine, I'd want it about that short.

Went to the deep water class. The plan for tomorrow is to do a strength training with bands DVD.

Lenora - Steve is a guy who was a consultant when Vince worked for Mars, Inc. That's how they became friends. Is that why my phone sometimes "dings"? Now I know. How did you turn it "off"? Go into "settings"?

Joyce - I've been watching Jeopardy, just haven't seen it in the last few days. I'm sad that Austin left. He was so cool. He seemed to have more of a "win some lose some" attitude.

Sharon - (((BIG HUG))) What adorable grandchildren you have

Katla - I'm so sorry for you and your hubby. I hope he didn't hit his head. Please keep us posted

exercised, stopped at the Salvation Army, then went to David's Bridal. They steamed my dress, too. Went shopping (got a sweater, not like I needed another sweater), had lunch at Chili's (chicken breast, mixed greens, water to drink, steamed broccoli)

Lisa - NOW HEAR THIS -- when you get to NC and get settled, we MUST get together, maybe Greensboro? So glad things worked out so well for you

I like to order "a la carte" or a child's portion or the food without the bun. To me, the bun is just "filler". If I order "a la carte or the childn't portion, then I don't have to take something home with me

terry - those pics look like something that would be on a jigsaw puzzle.

I agree that a few nights in jail will certainly help Tom's perspective.

Had to sort-of clean out the one closet so I could hang Denise's gown and mine up and came across a skirt set I had that was a 3/4. I couldn't even button it! And to think that at one time it fit me (way back when). I also found a pair of pants that I wasn't crazy about how they fit me. They were a 6P. In petites I need at least an 8. So the Salvation Army will be getting a few donations.

Lenora, it is a dirt road. In some places it's like blacktop because it has become so packed down over the years. Yes, the winter can be rough. But I love being curled up at home in front of the wood stove.

Allie, I hope Tom gets what is coming to him. Don't understand how people can be that way. Good luck.

Machka, once you go short and see how easy it is to take care of, you'll never go back to long.

Bad eating day today. Think I was bummed because when I weighed this morning I was up a little more again even though I've been staying within my calories. Got to get back on track again. It's been cooler here so maybe I'm subconsciously eating more to prepare for the coming winter?

Going to spend the day with my daughter tomorrow while DH is going with a friend who has a truck to pickup the doors. I'm hoping they are still there as I'll be disappointed if they aren't. I'm really looking forward to turning them into foot and head boards for our bed.

Olivia and I are going to look for some shoes for me and black pants for her. My feet have really bothered me the last two days and I'm hoping to find some in extra wide that would be good for my feet while still looking fashionable for wearing at work. Won't be easy to find. The specialist gave me some ideas as to where I might find some. We are also going to a garage sale and to habitat for humanity and see if we can find a nice but cheap dresser we can convert into a island for our kitchen. Busy day.

So I guess I'd better turn in and call it a day. Wishing everyone a good night.

    Terry

Before they take off to get the doors, they are going to load up the truck with all the items we've been wanting to take to the dump. I'll be so glad to get it off the porch.

I grew up with short hair, sometimes quite short. I didn't grow my hair long until my early 20s. One of the reasons I've kept it long since then was because it is so much easier to take care of than when it was shorter. I've got just enough wave in my hair that when it was shorter, it had a mind of its own and would do all sorts of weird stuff. I would spend an hour each morning with curling irons and gels and hairsprays and everything trying to get it to look relatively normal.

With the long hair, I'm in and out of the shower in 10 minutes, and if my conditioner is working right, I can have it combed out in about a minute ... or if I want to dry a bit of it, maybe 2 minutes. In the mornings, I wake up about 35 minutes before I have to leave the house to catch the bus, but have made it (shower and all) in 25 minutes. :)

Now, if I cut it so that it was about an inch long all over my head, so that it stood up, that might be different.

Karla, when I am on the floor, I can't jaunt stand up. I have to crawl over to a couch, bed, etc and then stand from there. But sometimes the floor is my most comfortable place. When we had Charistmas here, I loved to sit on the floor. Lots of kids on the floor so lots of kisses.

Lenora, why has us No a C-PAP forced you to lay on your back? I lvjust e being on my side and I use one.

One of our best friends left a message tonight that he is in the hospital. He is one of the three guys that is in The Over the Hill Gang with Charlie at Karaoke. He has had heart problems before and a couple of stents. He was in cardiac rehab the other day and the nurse stopped him because of the EKG changes he was having with excersise.mhe had a stress test and it had to be stopped. He has a bad aortic valve along with bad arteries of the heart. He is scheduled for open heart surgery Tuesday and the doctors said he is bad enough he can't go home. I'm not sure if he and his wife understand the seriousness of the matter. Insurance these days just don't have you stay in the hospital 4 days before surgery. He is very obese, loves his beer and more beer and then more beer.

Totally enjoyed my time this evening with my cousin and husband. She is so the oldest of all the cousins but at this age we feel like we are all the same. She is 73 but you couldn't tell it and she sure does not want to even be referr d to as elderly! They will take in so,e of the local sights with my sister tomorrow and then go to The Ark Encounter Sunday. My brother works there and will get everyone in at half price. If you have never heard of that, it is a full size replica of Noah's ark

Pip: I love your dog's photos. What are their back-stories? Where did you find each one, & did you get each as a young pup or an older dog? I have a dear friend who is in love with labs & having a hard time replacing the old girl who passed away last winter.

SueBDew in TX: I'm so happy to hear your bowel didn't have an obstruction. That is very good news. :flowerforyou:

Barbie: I hope you enjoy your new refrigerator.

janetr: I love the "How to quit your job like a pro" card

Rori: I'm so glad you are having a great vacation in California. My favorite photo is you & your DH with all the pumpkins. You are beautiful and he is a very lucky man.

DH has gone to bed and I'll be going up shortly. I've set up the coffee for tomorrow morning. The pot has a timer that will turn it on at just the right time for us to have it ready and waiting when we first wake up.

Penny, love your comment, especially the part about the guys with their knickers in a twist, made me chuckle!
Terry and Machka, I love both hair styles!
Sharon please listen to your counselor and stay safe! One thing a former coworker was told was to pack a bag with a few days worth of clothing, some toiletries, a week or so worth of any meds you need, some cash and/or a credit card and have it stashed somewhere outside the house. If you have your own vehicle, you could stash it there, or with a very trustworthy friend. Just make sure he can't find it, that could accelerate the situation in a direction that you don't want it to go.
Allie, your place looks really cute! I don't know your story but from what I've read here, it certainly sounds like you are much better off.
Pip, the photo of the dogs is so so sweet!
Today, went well, no formal exercise, but I did do a fair amount of walking at work, and it was fairly busy, so didn't have much of a chance to eat stupid stuff. lol There's a lot of Halloween candy at work right now, nice for the customers, but a definite downfall for me! I tried eating an orange as someone had suggested, probably would have worked better if it had been a better orange, it was a little dry.... It did help tho, so will try again!
Must get to bed now, the alarm will be going off way to early again tomorrow! Hope everyone has a great day!!

Hi all! Done a few hundred words of my memoir, which is enough for a Saturday, so I am rewarding myself with talking to you.

Rori - If you are reading this could you contact Kim for us. Her email is blocking anything I send her and I don't have a cell number for her. You may have as I think you two met up. Anyone else who met her and has a number, could you just find out if she is ok. The fires will have been pretty close.Thanks.

Trying to organise going up to London to see DH 's daughter and my cancer friend. I have tried to see my friend, but she always seems to have other commitments, including the hospital. It's difficult. I think we are just going to have to go ahead and see my step daughter and hope to fit my friend in in the evening. We also want to catch an exhibition of Jasper John. I might have to catch a late train back on my own or even stay over at a hotel.
It's complicated by the fact that I am flying up to Glasgow soon for our girly reunion. :*

The butcher has aquired a ham hock for me and 8 pigs cheeks. They are in his freezer. I will also get some chuck for spicing and shredding to freeze. Game is beginning to come in so there will be partridge, pheasant and venison. I want to buy a lot at once because I have been collecting loyalty stamps and now have enough for a 20% off purchase. :D I will collect it all next week when I know our travel plans.

Tonight is tandoori chicken kebabs with my new tandoori powder. I remember the very first time I went to a tandoori restaurant in 1968 in London. I thought I was in heaven. I didn't want to wash my hands after I'd eaten the chicken on the bone, it smelled so heavenly! It's still one of my favourite things. We often use monkfish. Yum! I'm going to have cauliflower rice with it.

DH 's football team is playing my team this pm. :o I can't bear to watch, so he will take himself upstairs and I will watch Hope Springs.
He heard the other day that Ireland has been accepted to play Test Cricket for the first time. (International) The CEO of the Irish cricket team is someone DH used to captain for his local team years ago. The CEO was around 16 or 17 then. DH was an adult. He has emailed the team's address to see if the guy remembers him.

    Love Heather UK xxxxxxx

PS - Lisa - happy to see you are following your dreams. I always agree - IF NOT NOW, WHEN?

Happy weekend ladies! I've had a pretty good week. Work was busy, but uneventful. Weight was down yesterday, which is always good. Today we will be going down the street to watch the OU - Texas football game with neighbors. There will be two OU fans (hub and I), one TX fan (the host), one who likes both (the hostess) and two who don't care but want to come for the fun. The food will be tempting as always. I am taking a veggie tray with yogurt dip to be my main snack and then will fill in with the tempting stuff. I'll probably also eat a big green salad before I go.

Heather - I hope you get to see your friend!

Allie - I hope you can get things lined out so you don't have to keep taking off work.

Lisa - Congrats on the move! Good luck!

Evie - I do pretty good with eating some apple slices when I want something sweet.

Sharon - Stashing a bag with a trusted friend sounds like a great idea! Stay safe!
