janet love the organized system for your ribbons
I am planning on a big decluttering and purge of non essentials as I do every New Years. Love to clear the decks and looks like we may be snow bound a little so I will have every excuse to stay indoors this weekend and focus on cleaning and organizing.
Beth the pics of your house in the snow are lovely, looks like your getting the major snowfall once again. Here we are expecting maybe 4 inches and everything comes to a standstill!

We are home after a simply wonderful Christmas. We were lonely as soon as we got unpacked. Will post picture of
DDILs crown pork roast we had for dinner last night. We all told stories of Christmas memories. Such a blessing to be close enough to visit with our family. Got a new iPad and am busy trying to download my apps. Love all the pictures and Christmas stories. I also feel very lucky to have you all in my life
LISA- loved hearing the story of your daughter at the mall and the kids with their daddy dolls. We came out of a camera shop and were backing out when a man began waving at us.DH rolled down is window and the man (who was actually a mailman) said, “I just want to thank you for your service”. We have a special TX license plate with a medal on it. It made DH feel really good.

Beth - wonderful pics
Well, we went to the movies, then friends of ours came by to look at the decorations and to give us a bag of grapefruit for us letting them use the condo. Really, they didn't have to do that.
After they left the doorbell rang. I thought maybe they forgot something. But it was Pete and Denise -- they came a day early.
Well, going to get to bed right now. Boy, in a sense them coming early screwed me up. I had things planned for them coming tomorrow. Well, we'll just adjust.

Hi Sisters, I did not have the best of days today. After I went into the office, I went for a walk with my youngest daughter at the local park. We took my dachshund Honey, my MIL dachshund Mitzie (I am looking after while she is out of country) and my daughter's Chihuahua Molly for an hour's walk. Got back to the car to find my purse had been stolen out of it. I had made sure the doors were locked but did not realise that the hatchback part was not locked. My new phone was in the purse as well as my eftpos cards which can be used with "Paywave" for up to $80 purchases without needing to know the pin...
I went back to the office and hopped onto my computer and the internet banking site and checked my cards. The thief had already pay waved it for three purchases. One was at the local gas station where my daughter's boyfriend works (and was on duty at the time!) I immediately cancelled the cards online and ordered new ones to be mailed out. Probably won't get them till next week. Then I went to the police station and made a report. The very nice cop on duty told me that they will send a constable around to the gas station to look at the cameras...THere is a good possibility they will be able to get a face, and car registration plate from the gas station cameras... Then I transferred money into my daughter's account and pulled some cash out so I could get dog food at the grocery store. Then I went around to my second daughter's place and borrowed her spare phone so at least I can stay in contact with family until I sort another phone out. I will go into the phone company tomorrow to report the phone stolen. I have got the police report now and perhaps the insurance company might cover some of it, though maybe not since the hatchback was apparently unlocked...
Some good things: My driver's license was in my van, not my purse. My credit card also in my van, not my purse.
All my photos off my phone are saved onto my computer already. All of my audio books can be easily transferred with Audible app onto a new phone when I get one. Payday is tomorrow, so there was hardly any money in the account for the creep to steal. Luckily we will still be able to cover our mortgage and other bills tomorrow! All they managed to get was about $160 worth plus my new phone. (I lost the old one galloping on the beach a couple of months ago!)
So it could be worse. I was able to buy a bottle of red and I am drowning my sorrows now and counting my blessings. Loveya, Wendy9 -
Joyce I will pray for your speedy recovery right now.6

Made it to pg 58.
Lisa - Just read the story of the kids and their special dolls. It is great to know that good people still exist. This was a special Christmas gift.
Heather - Your cancer friend has such a warm smile. She gave you all such a great gift in making another memory with you.
Wendy - I thought everyone was a little Canadian. Lol. We are such a melting pot.
Marcelyn - that is a lot of stockings!
Allie- I am so sorry that you were uncomfortable in your daughter's home. So disrespectful to yell at your Dad. I guess he was not taught to respect and honour your elders.
Thanks to all of you for your concern and support for me in the situation with Larry. I don't know what to think. He seems to blow hot and cold daily. I have wondered more than once in the past if there are some mental health issues in the mix.
Saturday we had friends in for a nice ham supper with all the fixings. We had a very good visit. It was Larry's idea.
Sunday I worked, we went out in the afternoon and then I went to a beautiful service with my cousins. Candlelight and Carols. Standing between such great singers was intimidating but I knew all the words and I have enthusiasm. We drove around and looked at a few light displays. My cousin gave me his new Christmas CD but I haven't listened to it yet.
Christmas Day we opened gifts and stockings with Chico. Larry got me a new phone. Now to get it set up. We went to Christmas breakfast at Jheri's and did gift exchange with them. Keira was my little sweetheart and snuggled me a lot. She was very excited about everything. Jason and his little family came over a little later in the afternoon. We exchanged gifts and then it was on to my sister's. It was good to see everyone. I played crib and crokinole. I did, of course, over indulge.
Today was a sleeping in day. It was a good day to be inside. -33 celsius this morning....BRRR! We did venture out to get my phone set up properly but after looking at the lines that will wait. We also went to my DS to eat leftovers for supper. In between we phoned all 3 of Larry's brothers.
Back to work tomorrow and not excited about that.

Joyce - Sending you much love and hugs and I will be thinking of you today.
Also best wishes to Lenora. You must be feeling very frustrated right now and just want to feel ok.
Wendy - You have been very philosophical about the theft. Well done.
I have done my exercises and am now having a coffee. I've made up one of the beds and DH is going to do the other. Three extra rooms will be in use! It's nice to have a full house sometimes, but not for too long. Got to wash hair and titivate and do a quick hoover. They are arriving around 4 pm so I'm going to put ganache on a banana chocolate chip bundt cake I did in the IP ages ago. (DH doesn't like banana flavours ) Then DH 's younger daughter is coming late on the train after work in London, so I will offer the others Indian vegan snacks with a couple of dips and some Margaritas or Aperol Spritz, before we all troop down to the pub. Later I have no doubt there will be karaoke as we all like a sing song!
Love Heather UK xxxxxxx4 -
Joyce, my dear - I have no words, just know you're valued and loved. Please check in when you can.
Sue - am so glad my daughter's Christmas experience warmed your heart. It did mine, as well, and so glad your husband was thanked for his service. I think those words mean more to our generation, as the reception when they came home was so different than it is now.
Sharon - all the support in the world in your travails with Larry... but the unpredictable part of his behavior remains unsettling.
Wendy - So sorry about your purse being stolen. Insurance may pay anyway, and as long as you've stopped all the cards and disabled the phone, you may be able to get out of it with minimal financial damage. I hope that's true, for your sake. It is like having a friend stolen, losing our purses. One of the main reasons I don't carry one.
Got a new planner yesterday with the Barnes & Noble giftcards we received for Christmas, and Corey got a cookbook. Do love a clean new start to a year... Also picked up a small hardbound journal on clearance, and will be putting all my passwords in it today. There are a lot. Need to get them offline, though. Too much like having a purse out there that opens your whole life, even if it is encrypted.
Love y'all... tough start to a New Year for so many... my thoughts are with you.

Allie Hope your dad is better soon. Sorry you are dealing with this right now. Glad you have Alfie to comfort you.
Wendy I am so sorry your car (an extension of your personal space) was opened and your purse & phone were stolen. Besides the loss, there is a sense of violation and deep disappointment when something like that happens. Creep, indeed! (((Hugs))).

Done and a success!
I added half a small sweet potato, one small carrot, a little bit of cauliflower, and a quarter of an onion. The original recipe has none of that, and I've made it with none of that before, but it can be a bit on the thin side. Sweet potato, in a slow cooker, becomes a thickening agent, so I figured I'd add that, but like I mentioned, I wanted lots of veggies, so I thought I'd pop a few more in.
With the naan bread and rice, it was so filling. There's still lots left for tomorrow.
I also made an apple cherry crumble with fresh cherries but canned apple pie filling. Unfortunately, I should have used more butter in the crumble, but it isn't too bad. And it is also very filling!!
It was a good thing I ate lightly earlier in the day, and then did all that exercise!! I was absolutely stuffed by the time I finished all that!!
There's enough apple cherry crumble for another couple days!!

Did a 30 Minutes to Fitness DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do Paul Katemi's ASAP DVD
Joyce - oh no!!! Lots of prayers for you
Wendy - I'm so sorry to hear about your pocketbook, but it was a good thing that your license and credit cards weren't in there. I know the feeling. My wallet was stolen out of my pocketbook, even tho the pocketbook was in the trunk. The only thing I can think of is that they broke into the car, popped the release for the trunk that's in the car, and got into the trunk that way. The trunk wasn't broken into. Since then, despite Vince's protests, I have that mechanism for my trunk disabled. He complains all the time how it would be so much easier if he could just pop the trunk open from inside the car instead of having to use the key, but the only time I re-enable that is if my car needs some sort of repair where they need to get into the trunk. As a matter of fact, if I need to re-enable it, I would have to look at the owner's manual to find out how to do it -- that's how infrequently I do it. I think in the last ten years, I've probably done it at most 2 times. At least you won't have to go thru the hassle of putting a hold on your credit. But you still feel violated, I think anyone who has had a purse/wallet/whatever stolen can relate
Allie - good thoughts being sent for your dad
Denise and Pete are still sleeping. Went downstairs and exercised. I do that as soon as I can in the morning so that I can wear just my underwear and a sports bra and no one sees me.

Alison ~ Prayers said for your dad!
Wendy ~ So sorry about your purse being snatched and your new phone missing.
Carol in GA1 -
Sue in TX I have not had a crown roast in years. There are delicious!!!
Sharon has Larry had any medical evaluation for what is going on. When there are changes like there could be a medical reason.
(((Wendy))) like Lisa I do not carry a purse. I have wrist clutches that stay attached to me when I shop. My new car does not have a trunk latch so even if they can get into my car they cannot open my trunk. I am used to how I have to open it now. For me it is a minor inconvenience compared to the peace of mind of how difficult it is to get into my trunk of my car.
(((Lenora))) you are already sounding better. You were right about the lights in the hospital. I am glad they did not trigger another seizure. Sometimes common sense in lacking. Sometimes reporting this type of behavior to a nurse helps. I hope you never have to be there again.
(((Joyce))) sending healing thoughts.
Allie prayers for your dad.
Going to another painting class today. Looking forward to it. Below zero here. I am glad I have so many plants and hot water heat keeps our home comfortable. Eight hours with one break in sleep.
