Did one segment of Tone Trouble Zones DVD, held my plank for 2 min 53 sec (it wasn't as hard this week as last week, but still hard), then the extremepump class.
After exercise stopped at the Salvation Army. Got a blouse, don't know how it'll look under the sweater I have. Then bought Vince his rye bread (they finally had it!), then went to Aldi to pick up just a few things. Came home, got dinner ready, boiled water for tea to take to bowling, put a load of laundry in the wash (Vince couldn't get over how much static there was when he took the sheets off the bed). Next, bowling home for dinner then ceramics tonight. Vince will probably finish his part of the lighthouse welcome sign, then it'll come back to me.
Cathy from Alberta - don't worry, I put my sheets back on the bed after washing them, too. If I do need to fold some (at one time I had an extra set for our bedroom), this is the way I fold them.
Kate - welcome back!
M - how I wish I could put my sheets out to dry! Our HOA won't allow it. I hung them out when we lived in our second house and absolutely loved it.
barbie - how nice of you to do that for your friend. I do hope it isn't something serious
Rye - I have a hard time saying "no", so I know where you're coming from. Sometimes, tho, we need to just say "I'm sorry but I can't"
barbara - if you go to walk.jog.fm/popular-workout-songs, you can search by BPM
Happy Birthday Yogi! Hope you get something real nice.
Penny - I always look forward to your posts and will miss you terribly. Come back soon -- very soon
Felicia - welcome back! I was just thinking of you the other day! Awesome pics
drkatiebug - you are so organized it's almost sickening....lol
judefit - I haven't gotten any video. I wonder....is that a good thing or not.....lol
katla - dh won't have anything to do with an Apple phone. He hates Windows 10, too. He feels that Steve Jobs feels he knows what is good for you. there are things that dh wants to do and just can't
Went to ceramics then mahjongg. Maj'd 3 times, but always on hands that I had done previously. Oh well....
Joyce - so sorry you're feeling so poorly. Please get better fast

Went to Y this morning and did core exercises on the machines then walked on the treadmill.. Afternoon was book club, The Woman in the Photo. Great book about the Johnstown flood in PA.
Felicia - love your pictures of Cabo. Looks like a great place to go when it is so cold everywhere.
I recently went through my linen closet and rounded up towels, sheets and pillowcases, mattress pads, and spreads which I donated to our local charity. Now it is much easier to keep it neat.
Joyce - I am 78 years young. I just talked to my sister whose birthday is today and she is 76. I though she was 74! My we are getting up there. My goal is go stay active and healthy for as long as I can.Anyone else that old?
Lisa - I had a hard time finding your blog. Any easy way to find and bookmark it?
DJ - Hello to you too. Miss you!
Time for bed.

Yogi: Happy Birthday you handsome boy!
Felicia: Love the Cabo photos. Our cruise stops there this Friday. You've got me considering the camel ride excursion.
Barbara: Free app called Insight Timer has over 7,000 meditations- guided, unguided, all languages, a wonderful variety of topics and guides. I use it daily, have about 20 guided meditations bookmarked because they were so good, or are intriguing and ones I want to try soon.
My word for 2018 is 'release' and today I took a major step toward that. Advised my superiors and HR that I am RETIRING February 28th. My department is going through another reorg, and so thought it would be better to gracefully erase myself from any future designs our Director has for me. I'm elated, overjoyed and practically giddy with happiness. I will turn my energy and attention to being a proactive caregiver to my DH. Funds will be tight, but I'm sure we'll be fine.
For now, Mars the Leash Loving cat is settled in his room at the PetSmart Hotel, and we are packed and ready for our flight to San Diego. Will spend a day with my sister and her family. She, her DD, DDiL and I all have January birthdays, so we'll celebrate tomorrow night. Wednesday, we sail away on the MS Oosterdam. Will check in when I can.
Stay well friends. You are inspiring, amazing women.

My friend's medical procedure went well but she was exhausted and isn't sure if she'll want to walk in the morning. It was a relaxing morning for me. When I got home, I rode my exercise bike and watched some more figure skating that I had recorded.
I got started setting up a spreadsheet to keep track of my steps. I was able to enter the steps for December that I'd recorded on another thread and find out that I averaged 17,015 steps a day in December and so far in January my average is 17,184. All I'm interested in is step count so I don't need any fancier apps. I map my dog walking on an app called "Walk for a Dog" but that's purely for my entertainment.

Wow, Rori, that's exciting. I'm glad you'll be able to be there for your husband. I know they're sorry to lose you. I'll for sure have to meet up with you when I'm in Denver visiting my daufgter/family. Enjoy your trp, sounds fantastic.

Rori, I'm excited about your running cruise. Post pics and updates as much as you can! I will be there vicariously. Wendy4

Hello, Lovelies;
Somebody made my butt sore... was it one of you?!? LOL. Man, I have done one lower body workout with the trainer, and a follow up LBW on my own... and I can feel every muscle below the waist. I am thinking that is a good thing.
Tomorrow will be a third LBW -since Wednesday night is my first Arm workout with Camryn. If she does as much for my upper body as she has already done for my Lower, I expect to be buff and tough by Summer. She is just a child - 25-ish, about 6 feet tall and all legs. Lucky for her she doesn't have a PERFECT body, or I might have to hate her... but she is a very sweet girl and seems to have chosen exercises that fit my stated requirements - for quads, quads, hammies and more quads with a hip chaser.
So, my request for upper body was to learn some free weight stuff.... we will see what she comes up with.
Points for having a personal trainer: I feel like I push myself harder when she is there than when I do the workout myself... my thighs still burned, but not as hot... lol. I am thinking if I continue to be pleased I will have to try and squeeze a few more sessions out of my budget in the future.

Pip - Love me some Yogi! Happy Birthday to the Big Dog.
Felicia - Sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind... Looks like you had a fantastic time.
Joyce - Hugs! Hope your docs can get you all squared away!
NYKaren - Love that you are eating out of your freezer... If I had better organizational skills, I would do the same... except for produce and dairy, I could probably eat out of my freezer for a year... *sigh*
Kay - Can you come work my house over? I clearly need someone of with your skill at organization!
Lisa - Good luck on the warehouse deal! Got my fingers crossed.

Well, Ladies, I posted a 14 pound loss today... Apparently, MOST of the 20 pounds I thought I had gained was water... and Thank God for THAT. So, the wages of Sin, this holiday season was six pounds.
I am thinking it was almost worth it to eat literally every danged thing I wanted, at any time of the day or night for nearly two months. Almost...
But, clearly, that sort of behavior cannot last. I am back to at least staying under calories every day. Still eating some of the exercise calories - but, for now, I am just happy to be leaving a few calories on the table.
After a week or two of that, I will see what I can do to shave down the amount I am eating.
Hugs and Love;

Rye - It seems you need to say No! for your health. Someone once told me that No! is a full sentence. No apology or explanation needed.
In Alberta you get a 15 min break if you work 4 hrs, anything over 5 hrs you are entitled to an unpaid 1/2 hr break, 6-7 hrs you get a 15 and the 1/2, 8 hrs is 2x the 15 min breaks and a 1/2 hr. These are the minimum.
Katla - I do hope you work up the courage to knock on your neighbour's door. Who knows what your support might mean to her.
Barbie - It is always good to have friends and to be there for them.
Felicia - Glad that you enjoyed your time in Cabo.
Margaret - Sending love and prayers for whatever your family emergency may be.
SueBDew - You sound like a very young 78. I am 63 but know that is just a number. My sister who is almost 4 yrs. younger than me does not let herself be in the world like we do. She's heard of exercise but doesn't do any. She is diabetic but just takes insulin instead of being aware of what diet could do for her. I think we need to keep learning and doing to stay young. I am always open to new things and it sounds like you are also.
Rori - Your cruise sounds fantastic. Also, congratulations on your upcoming retirement.
I woke with a raging migraine. Larry dosed me with CBD oil as everyone says how wonderful it is for migraines.
I am wondering - Can I be allergic to the stuff. Today within 5 min. of taking the foul tasting stuff I had my head in the toilet. The first time I tried smoking the green medicine I had an asthma attack. Maybe it's just not for me? Today made me realize that I need to practice sprints. The nausea beat me and I had to change clothes 3x today. Larry had to shampoo the recliner because of my slowness. Whew! What a day! My boss was not pleased when I called in sick and reminded me that Inventory was on Wednesday. Yes, I know that. Did he think I wanted to be sick especially because unlike him I do not ever get paid for sick days.
There was nothing much else in this day. I am feeling better and plan to be at work tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed for good news from disability.
I keep writing down book suggestions from this group and maybe one day I will get to reading some of them.
Take care

Wish I could line dry my clothes. It would save me loads cause I have to use the laundromat. Allergies and desert dust prevent that.M - how I wish I could put my sheets out to dry! Our HOA won't allow it. I hung them out when we lived in our second house and absolutely loved it.
Meanwhile, I wish I had a clothes dryer!!
They do sell them here, but I'm not sure where I'd put it.

Have you talked to a doctor about using that stuff? You really should only use it under medical supervision, with a prescription of your own.
Also, does Larry use it regularly?2 -
Day 2 of this course begins! I took the later bus ... that works. And now the lecture is about to begin.
I don't mind the 3-hour lectures ... actually, they are reasonably interesting. It's basically what I've done for work for much of the last 8 years or so, only I haven't put it in those words. Evidently there are terms and definitions for what I do!
I did get a walk in after the lecture but then decided to go back and try to make some headway on the tutorial material. The tutorial is 2 hours long, and I was in there 1.5 hours in advance of it for a total of 3.5 hours of working on it all.
While I don't mind the lectures ... I'm trying to figure out how the tutorials tie in. Maybe at some point I'll stumble across the "why". Meanwhile I'm doing the stuff, a type of programming, and I'm getting the expected results ... I'm just not sure why anyone would bother doing all this!
And then I hiked up the hill to catch the bus. In total I walked 6.3 km, it was a bit of a rest day for my legs.
Shortly, I'm going to get back to work on this course ... and see if I can't locate that "why" somewhere.

Rori - Congratulations on taking that retirement decision. Retirement is beyond wonderful! Just make sure that you don't get overwhelmed with care giving and still have a life of your own. There may come a time when you have to hand over that care, for your own sake.
I will be thinking of you on your cruise! Enjoy! Not sure about kissing camels though.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxx who is back to yoga this morning in her new top.4 -
rori big ((( ))) to you, I know youve been contemplating this decision. Enjoy your cruise!!
Re. I can feel your burn from here. Sounds like the trainer is 150% worth it. One reason I decided to stop the grocery shopping—I was wasting money as well as food. And it only took one burst of energy to clean out the freezer, the fridge took a little longer. But I am saving money—and the planet. Win win!

Morning all... afternoon, and evening...
Rori - so pleased for you! And so sad I won't get to take advantage of your amazing knowledge base... Hope your cruise is amazing and wonderful and everything you hope it will be.
Re - thanks. Nothing back about it after the one cryptic message, though. We'll see what the day brings. At least there's some interest.
Sharon - Yes, you can be allergic to it.
Sleeping well these days. It's a lovely thing.

Good morning, afternoon and evening ladies, woke up to about 3 inches of snow. I wasn’t expecting that. Still fairly warm at 31 degrees (-1c). Busy day ahead at work but hoping to check in once and a while.
Felicia, he pic of you snorkeling looks like so much fun. I’d love to do that.
Joyce, I hope you get your medication squared away soon. Be careful in the shower.
Margaret, orry to hear of you have a family emergency. I’m sending good thoughts your way.
Cathy and Michele, I have a king size bed so the sheets are expensive. I am down to one set so I too put my sheets back on the bed after washing.
Rori, congratulations on retiring! I am green with envy. Happy Birthday! What day is it? Enjoy your trip.
Barbie, glad your friend’s procedure went well. Good for you starting a walking spreadsheet.
Lisa, hope the deal with the warehouse goes through. That will take some pressure off you.
Sharon, sounds like you had a rough day. Glad you took care of yourself and took a sick day.
Machka, you always make me feel like I do nothing! Lol
Lisa, glad you have been sleeping. It makes all the difference in the world. I’m so lucky I don’t have problem sleeping. My DH on the other hand does. It least he is quiet when he can’t sleep. I never hear him. He usually just turns on the little reading light and reads.

Could DH have made a New Year's resolution? For the first time in 33 yrs together he is regularly complimenting the meals I serve. It's only lunch (more like a big mid-day meal), he cooks his own breakfast and doesn't eat in the evening. All the decades I worked, he cooked for himself on weekdays as our hours were offset. I usually managed a meal or two on weekends. He's saying things like "That was tasty" or even "Thank You". Won't ask why will just be grateful for as long as it lasts
Ginger Hooray for momentum! Look at all those checkmarks, veggies, fiber, carbs, wow!
NYKaren hope there's a pic of your DD at platform 9-3/4
Felicia snorkeling in life vests? What's wrong with that picture?
Joyce ((hugs)) Wednesday must seem very far away. ;{
Margaret holding good thoughts for you and your family
Michele, I am with Vince about the iphone and Windows 10. Touchscreens are not my friends. Windows 7, 97, 95 and 3x were fine but truly, just give me a keyboard and a DOS prompt.
Rori Have to laugh at myself. Already have Insight Timer, used it for centering prayer then promptly forgot about it. Thanks I'm sure that will be just the ticket! Congrats on retirement plans, sounds like your timing is just right. Safe travels.
Re "happy to be leaving a few calories on the table" great attitude!
Sharon no paid sick days? You and Rye and Karen in VA have my sympathy. Working without benefits sucks.
Snoozed timer again ;}
Mindful and WARM Hugs to all,

Rori ~ Congrats on your decision to retire. I think you will love it.
Felicia ~ Looks like Cabo is a bit of paradise.
PIP ~ Yogi looks really cute in his “man” clothes.
Joyce ~ Sorry you are having trouble with your numb finger and inability to sleep. Hope the doc can help you. Did I misunderstand what you said about taking narco’s (narcotics?). Maybe you are on too much medication.
Re ~ Glad you are getting good results from your exercise.
Sharon ~ So sorry your migraine is so bad. Hope it goes away quickly.
Linens Once Again ~ All the comments have made me realize that I need to purge all my extra sheets, table cloths, saved curtains, etc. All my talk of my DH being a hoarder and there I am right with him. So many things that I have not or never used. Ugh!
Temps in the 50's today but will go back down over the weekend.
Driveway is being dug up and hopefully we will get new concrete poured soon. It was a real mess and we were lucky to be able to replace some of it at a good price.

Felicia you look like you stepped into a slice of heaven!
Sharon So sorry for the migraine. I suffer them too, but as I’ve aged they have become less severe. Hope you feel better soon!
Sheets one drawback to letting the kits sleep snuggled to my side in bed is that one of them occasionally horks up a hairball etc in the middle of the night. We have to quickly get up and shed the sheet and replace it with one of the clean sheets rolled up in the cedar chest (inheritance from my mother) at the foot of the bed. We could not manage with one set of sheets. I have 3 sets, and when the universe sent one of us sickness (and we sweat through the sheets with fever) and one of our kitties hairballs we did regret not having a fourth set one weekend. We just used a queen sized flat sheet and safety pins that day, iirc. I do have 5 or 6 queen size sheet sets - but no queen size bed anymore. You ladies have inspired me to purge those! Thanks.
I will start to take the tree down later today. But first, Mr Kidd Kirby is purring up a storm with the cuddling requests. So happy not to have to work until 4 pm today.

Hi all! Back from my first run of week 2, c25k. Managed it fine and all my downloaded music worked fine. Thanks again for the suggestions. Glad to say my knee is holding out, though I am conscious of it.
The lane is absolutely filthy with farm equipment trundling back and forth and the verges all ploughed up. Grrrrrrrrrr! Then it all washes downhill and blocks the drain at the end of the road. That was one of the objections DH made to the planning application. Flooding is not good news for the council.
I saw the horrible b#÷×+×÷ at the village hall after yoga. He has schemed to keep useful on the Parish Council, even though he has moved out of the village, with an eye on getting his plans passed. Grrrrrrrrrr! He was fixing some notice boards, but I just walked out without saying anything.
DH is having anxiety over the proposed building and hasn't slept well this last couple of nights. Plus irritable bowel. I hope it subsides soon. (He is prone to serious anxiety attacks)
I know it will affect the value of our house. I think we ought to tell the estate agent, but DH thinks we should wait and see if the planning is accepted or rejected. It will come up on any search and they will wonder why we haven't declared it, I think. He may decide to tell them, but I'll let his conscience decide.
Lisa - Hope you hear something good about the warehouse. It would be such a load off your mind.
Yoga was great and we all looked at our teacher's recent wedding photos. I so love my group and teacher and will miss them all dearly if/when we move.
Love you all, Heather UK xxxxxxx3 -
Rori - congrats on the retirement decision! The stars lined up for it! Enjoy, enjoy your trip and the birthday celebrations.
Re - when you said someone made your butt sore, why did I think Pip stopped by? LOL! So glad you are back on track. Your journey back to health has been amazing!
Sharon - sorry to hear about your migraine and the CBD. And your tummy sickness! I haven't had a horrible sick to stomach migraine in a long time - used to have them regularly and the only thing that stopped them was imitrex. I guess the CBD products work well for a lot of people, but not all. When I was working, we also had the 15 minute break and half hour lunch break rule which must have been a WA state law. Though it could be circumvented a bit in a union contract along with overtime hours for folks with very staggered workdays who worked 44 hours one week, 36 the next to average 40 per week.
Barbara S Oregon - how nice your DH is complimentary on your cooking! What a great thing! Hope it lasts forever! Mine does pretty well when I actually DO cook, lol. I have to remind myself to compliment him as well. I guess I was raised "if I'm not complaining then take it as a compliment" BUT, we like to hear the words nonetheless.
Joyce - sounds like you are doing better but I too am worried a bit about your unstable BP. And numb finger! Thank you for catching us up on ALL the girls! Hope Michelle finds the source of that pain, how worrisome and aggravating. I still have pain after my gallbladder surgery - doc says it's scar tissue and/or adhesions so will have to live with it unless it causes physical problems. Glad you are enjoying the ice dance competition!
Wendy - love your "Feel it Still" running song! They play it on the radio here and I listen to it when I do strength training - not at top speed, lol.
Heather - can you post a photo of your new running top? It sounds very nice! So sorry to hear that nasty bugger is still working on the development. Don't blame your DH for being upset. Our homes and peace of mind are so important. I'm sending a little Italian fanoosh to the developer. It's not mean, it's just wishing him good luck on his endeavors elsewhere. Far from your neighborhood!
Lisa - how neat to get a nibble on the warehouse. Crossing fingers a buyer will come through quickly!
Carol - I hope the driveway project is the last thing that will need to be done for a long, long time. You should have had a PBS show about your floors, dishwasher, etc.
Need to wrap it up for now. Heading to town this morning. Our community is very sad... both Sears and KMart are closing in a few months. They carried a lot of things that Walmart doesn't so I'm going to buy sweats, a vacuum that takes bags if they have any, and check out dishwashers. I know there will be big sales starting in a couple weeks but I'm not willing to wait. When they leave, there will only be Walmart and Home Despot as my DH calls it for good deals on appliances.
Have a good day ladies!
Lanette
Drizzly SW WA State4 -
Good morning, ladies.
It warmed up just enough to make icy conditions yesterday, so that was fun. Forecast today includes freezing fog.
I went grocery shopping yesterday with a ton of lunch ideas, but none of them entirely cohesive. I made extra fish for dinner last night so I could bring it for lunch today, completely forgetting that I made enough chicken salad yesterday for two days. I bought sweet potatoes and black beans to reproduce a vegan recipe I made once. I bought frozen sushi rolls (it's a thing) and frozen fruit. I bought two different kinds of salad mixes, with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. I bought fresh salsa and chips to make a taco salad using chicken breast I cooked on Sunday. I may resort to a spreadsheet to sort out my menu, kind of like Tetris but I'm fitting calories into my day instead of shapes in a box.
I folded sheets yesterday and thought of all of you.
Felicia - Beautiful pictures. It looks like you had a terrific time.
Ginger - way to fly, girl!
Today is my deadline for choosing a gym. I know to reach my fitness goals I'll need to take up an exercise program. Planet Fitness makes the most sense for cost and location, but my health insurance company offers a significant membership discount for a gym that has more amenities (including a pool). Unfortunately, I haven't received my insurance card yet and I need that to even inquire about the discount. The Planet Fitness new membership discount ends tomorrow so I'm crossing fingers that the card arrives today.
I'm off to tackle my menu dilemma.
