Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .
Good Evening Friends,
I just want to do a quick check in to let you know I’m still with you. I’m reading what I can which is not keeping me up to date at all. I do love to hear about your victories and successes. It puts such a smile on my face. I am sorry to hear of problems and sadness among others. Please know I think of all of you and will get my act together one day and get back to daily reading and posting. I wish you all good health and happiness.

Terry in VT - feel better fast
Penny - how exciting! Thanks for sharing
Gotta get back to the ice dancing.
Michele loving every minute of being in FL4 -
Barbara, I have been getting electrolysis to get rid of my "old lady hairs". It has helped immensely and isn't stupidly expensive.
Joyce, your kitties are very cute! Hope your stroke recovery keeps going. My mom had MS, ended up in a wheelchair eventually.
Penny, so nice to hear from you! Great photo too. Martha Stewart huh? Never did like her much, oh well, my opinion only.
Becca, glad hubby had one procedure already, hope his next one happens sooner rather than later. Keeping you both in my thoughts.
Allie, sure hope you get your separation stuff settled soon!
Sorry, had more stuff to say but my tablet had it's own idea and I lost my post. Grrr....
My back is starting to feel better, but I guess I've been compensating with my right hip because now it really hurts. Seeing my chiropractor tomorrow, hopefully she can help. Had a do nothing day today. I kinda enjoyed it! I did do a bit in what will be our grandsons room, if we ever get to have him overnight, soon it will be ready for him.
Hope everyone has a great day/night!

Thanks, Mary. I Will increase weight tomorrow and drop back reps a bit.

If the image attaches properly, this is PupPup, my funny valentine. She's a mix of Shih Tzu and Poodle, and just an absolute delight.

SueBDew -thanks! You as well as everyone on here has helped me/us with our journey to a healthier lifestyle! This is a great group of ladies and a fantastic place to come for motivation and especially support!
Janetr - when I go up in weight I cut down to 3 sets of goblet squats at five reps and restart the 5 Week program with 7 sets of 7 reps of swings. Then follow the program for slowly increasing the number of sets. Let me know if you need any other information!

Machka: Congratulations for your cycling medals. WTG!!! :bigsmile:Machka, WOO HOO on the medals! Well done girl!Machka - congrats on those medals. You guys deserve them
Machka - you were busy! No wonder we didn't hear from you! Wow, it really hits home how active you are when you see those medals. Thank you for sharing.
How fun and wonderful! I have to say, as a swimmer I’m jealous. My mile swim event I did last fall? I got a T-shirt for raising over a certain amount of money but I didn’t even get a piece of fruit or bottle of water afterwards because they decided to pack up everything before I finished ( last, but 10 minutes BEFORE the one hour time was up.). I finished to a completely empty building ( the lifeguard took off before I had exited the pool!) with my husband and the cleaning lady being the only people left. I was appalled, humiliated, angry, hungry and thirsty. We stopped into a 7-11 to buy me fruit and a bottle of water afterwards.
The organization ( swim across America - cancer research charity) is the only group swim activity like that I can find but I’m never swimming for them again. I guess that makes me petty, but I’ll donate to some other group instead.
Your adventures ( and pip’s and Wendy’s hike group) make me long for similar camaraderie and fun rewards like the patches and medals, but not enough to run or cycle (that would be s safety hazard anyway) - lol
Thank you, everyone.
Last year was full-on with all the events and everything. This year hasn't been quite so heavy ... yet. But it is starting to ramp up now.
Rye, I have a friend who does all sorts of swims everywhere ... maybe I should pay more attention to what exactly he does, but he and his wife have picked up medals and various things from their swims.
And that is really too bad about your mile swim!!
I've been on a century (100 mile) ride like that once ... couple hundred riders out on the course of various levels (you didn't have to qualify to enter) so there were riders who completed the 100 miles in 4 hours and some who were still on the course at 8 hours.
There was a feed station at one point, then a big loop back to that feed station, and then the final leg home. I was going to do the loop first and then stop at the feed station, but for some reason right at the last minutes I decided to stop before the loop. Good thing I did! There was hardly anything left then, and there were still probably about 50 riders behind me. By the time I finished the loop and stopped in for some more water, that's about all there was ... just water. And there were still riders coming into the station for the first time.
Then when I got to the end, they were packing up to go and asked me if I thought there were any more riders out there ... um, yes! Quite a few!! With heavy sighs they decided to stop packing up and wait just a bit longer. I was not impressed!
On all the events we organise, we make sure all the riders are taken care of however fast or slow they are.

Lisa - We know you have a level head and will approach the situation with tact. I'm sure you will find a way through this.
Okie- It is just great that you could take a vacation and actually lose weight. Were you doing the hula?
Allie - Sending you hugs at this difficult time. I will pray for a quick resolution.
Shouldn't your attorney be dealing with Tom? I think you should ask to be reimbursed for time lost due to his lawyer's no shows.
Machka - I hope you had a great weekend with your hubby. We all need our away time. Seeing your medals is inspiring.
Rita - Is it time for another walk? Take me with you as I could use a mood reset.
Penny - Such a great story! You look so good.
Rye - I wouldn't swim for them again either. It is deplorable the way you were treated. I would think there would be some health and safety issues as well. I hope you find another charity event that you can swim for.
Terry - Are you drinking cranberry juice? It is my go to.
pstegman888 - PupPup is so cute.
So started the day tired. Boss wanted to know why there wasn't a truck crew scheduled for today. Hmmm....remember me? Not part of my job. I didn't know it wasn't scheduled right because I don't do scheduling any longer. I changed schedules for the truck that was rescheduled. Oh well, it got done.
Now he's handed me a sheet with everyone's results for our store goals and I have 25 people to talk to and come up with plans to better our numbers. Excuse me? Isn't this supposed to be part of the evaluation process? Tomorrow I continue training my young friend so that he can step up to be an Assistant Manager.
And we have the rescheduled truck.
Went to Service Canada today. It looks like I better get busy on my disability challenge. It will make a considerable difference for the last year before I took 65. The accident definitely affected the pension I will receive. The difference between what I could get monthly now and the disability is about $400. I thought maybe I could just do the pension and not have all the stress of challenging but that it quite a difference. It would have been better for me if my injuries had been caused by a car accident and not covered by WCB at the time. Excuse me while I have my little pity party before I pull up my panties and get to work on this again. In the mean time all of my licenses for the green medicine have expired. Larry is livid that I have never ordered and am now expired. What can I say? This medical stuff is expensive.
My son in BC is not happy with me. I expressed my opinion that he shouldn't post photos of him and the new squeeze on Social Media that my grandson is also on. He says Creedin is okay with it but I know he is not. Both Creedin and Courtney have been texting me about their Dad and the new girlfriend. Ryan spent a week with her in Quebec and now she is going to visit him in BC for 10 days(Holly will have the boys). He says she is going to come out for a month in July and wants to meet us. I have expressed the opinion that I don't really want to know about or meet anyone either of them are dating until it is serious. He says this may be the one he marries. Is he kidding? He needs to be divorced first. I don't agree with either of them dating before the divorce is final. My opinion and yes I know they will do what they want to do. I wish Ryan would go back to counselling.
Tomorrow it's work, making appointments and getting Larry's stuff ready for the accountant. Mine is a T4 so that is done.
Ready for a vacation, ready for late mornings, ready for coffee on the deck, ready to listen to the birds and to smell the flowers.

TERRY sorry to hear you have a bladder infection, do make sure it doesn't go on too long. Couple of years ago I had UTI, did all the usual things, water, cranberry etc but ended up collapsing and in A&E, so scary. Don't want to scare you but I warn everyone about not neglecting bladder problems. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Still not doing well on eating front, think I need Pips boot
Happy Valentines Day

Busy morning ahead due to a minor panic last night. My work laptop crashed about an hour before I was finishing it up, and it took me the whole hour to nurse it back to life without having to do a full factory reset. Which would have put me in seriously bad shape. But, after I got it back up and running, I copied all my files into my personal Dropbox. Just in case.
This morning, I'm uploading finished applications, reports, etc. up to the home server, which I have a direct VPN into (think of it as a second computer screen, sort of a picture in picture, that I can open to access it). However, it slows down massively during the day when 34 staff are pounding on it, so six a.m. my time is a great time to do that, as it's four a.m. where most of the rest of the staff are. I've been remiss getting them uploaded, so I need to get this done.
Love y'all!

Terry - I have had bladder infections a lot in my life, not so many nowdays, and they NEVER went away without antibiotics. I'm not a fan of antibiotics generally, but I always rush to get them at the first sign of cystitis, which I think is one of the most miserable things in the world. Once a niggle turned into a full blown UTI. Took ages to get over it.
Valentine's Day today. We had a lovely presents exchange this morning, including the book about running that I had ordered for myself and had to give away to a friend. Going to have the blinis and a chicory salad for lunch and fillet steak with a small blob of garlic butter and fennel and spinach for dinner. We will open a bottle of our best red wine. I'm going to do kettlebells and line dancing as my bonus calories this afternoon. Did some different weight bearing exercises this morning, based on one I saw in the MFP email and another one that was on the TV last night - walking burpees.

Have to admit...yesterday was Fat Tuesday. I had some chocolate cake and Girl Scout shortbread cookies. You know, today I feel ikky. I think I just may be ready to eat just when I'm hungry, at least that's what I'm going to try (again) for Lent this year. What's everyone else. What a cruel twist the church did, making Lent start on Valentine's Day.
pstge - what an adorable pup!
Going to the Y now.

Have a few questions about Facebook for anyone who is on FB. What does it mean when you are friends with someone, you can see their posts, but when you go to their homepage and don't see your name listed under their "friends".
Also, when you look at their "friends", there is usually a button on the right that says "add friend". What does it mean when this button doesn't appear next to one person's name?

Good Morning all! Happy Valentine's Day! Sending lots of Love to you all!
Suebdew-Two and a half year old Grace found the baby in her piece of King Cake. At daycare, that means: 1) She gets to keep the baby token (that is a big deal for them), 2)She gets to be Queen for the day and choose our songs, activities, movie, etc., 3)She gets to wear a crown. This will happen on Thursday, due to today being Valentine's day (party day) and Friday being Chinese New Year (party day). Three parties in one week! The kids will have a ball, and I will be wiped out by Friday!
Lisa-Yikes! Glad you were able to pull everything back up and save it! Do you need more RAM?
DJ- So glad to see you, even if you are just checking in! Hope things ease up a bit in your life so you can swing by and visit more often! Miss your voice! Sending hugs
Janet-What weight of kettlebell are you using? You looked fantastic in that photo you posted!
Mary- Wow! An hour commute! That's over a half a tank of gas a day!
So...I had one of my King Cake cinnamon rolls yesterday, it was really good and because I made it a bit healthier, the calories weren't as bad as I thought they would be. BUT... then I made the guys a cheesy noodle dish. I quickly got on mfp and did the calorie math; it fit in my calorie allotment, but was definitely not on my list of acceptable foods. I had a cup of it, anyway. Funny thing, it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be.
For those of you that have found me and friended me on facebook; I posted my last post yesterday. I will be back on in moderation in 40 days. I am giving up facebook for Lent. Although I do not attend church regularly, I am still spiritual and have found the "sacrifice" at Lent is good for me to focus my thoughts and be mindful of others. The past couple of years, I have done the Sunday fasting, to keep the people who are starving in our world, in the forefront of my mind. I am now doing that every Sunday, not just during Lent. I am giving up facebook for a couple of reasons. 1)I spend Waaaay too much time on there. 2) lately, much of what I am seeing on facebook is making me angry, frustrated, and putting negative, ugly thoughts in my brain. So...I give up facebook to keep myself in a healthy state; I am also giving it up so that I can keep my family and friends (whose posts are giving me negativity) in my thoughts and prayers as they struggle with stuff and hoping it will make me more mindful about what I am putting out...negativity or positive vibes? I'd rather be positive.
On a side note: DD and DSIL took Joaquin into ER yesterday morning. He has a double ear infection and the flu. Tamiflu and antibiotic for his ear infection! Poor guy. DD called me on viber last night and he was just laying on his mama! Too tired and hurting to move much. So hard to see them sick! I know it is something small; but please send prayers and good thoughts to Joaquin; so he can get back to being a healthy, busy boy!
Well, time to make some valentine pancakes! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

We can hide our friends list from other people. Go to Settings > Privacy and where it says "Who can see your friends list?", you can select from a whole list of options. If they've selected "Only Me" you won't be able to see their friends list. Many of my friends have it set up so that I can only see mutual friends. That seems to be a common privacy setting.
If you can see some of their friends, and there's no "add friend" button, it means that the person has made some selection to limit requests or maybe you are friends with them already.
There could be some sort of block in place as well.

Checking in and saying Happy Valentines Day to everyone. Loved the story of the twin lambs. Challenge should be my word for 2018 instead of gratitude. Just joking, I'll stick with gratitude, it keeps me on track.
Yesterday was difficult and today will be also. Spending time with DH relatives. Wonderful people with hearts of gold but their lifestyle is so different from ours. They eat sugar and carbs and don't move much. I get a bit antsy when I don't get my walking in. They can't visit us because I rented a second floor condo without an elevator and none of them can do stairs. I didn't even think about it when I rented the condo. They have bad knees and backs and other health issues. Even is impossible to go to the park and sit because benches are "too hard". Yikes...
Oops I'm griping. I'm sad. I love these people and I see such a change in their health from a year ago.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .
Happy Valentine's Day to all my dear friends.
I'm staying busy and to be honest, counting the days until DD moves into her apartment the end of March. She will still be very close so we will be Doggy Daycare for her Rhodesian Ridgeback, Beans. I know our lab, Maggie will be happy about that as they have become buddies. But as busy as I am and as much as I miss spending the time to read every post, I am not stressing. I just accepted that I would keep up my logging but spend much less time with all of you for the time being. You are like sisters to me and like family, I still feel so very close to you even though I'm not seeing you as often.
My dear, dear friend from Charlotte finally decided to move here and then found out she may have some type of cancer of the blood. They did a bone marrow test yesterday to know for sure and it will be two weeks before she gets the results. I am praying that she gets a good report.
DH got me beautiful flowers for VD, which he doesn’t do often. He knows I love them but he is too frugal to spend on something that only lasts a few days. I don’t mind since he does so many nice things for me.
