Michele, it also means that Easter falls on April Fools Day. We can tell the kids to go find eggs we DIDN'T hide.

Kelly thank you. I've been using the 15# kettlebell, today I will up it to 25# and cut back on the number of reps and sets a little.
I've usually done them by this time but my cheek is a bit swollen and sore from the dentist drilling yesterday to put the crown on my tooth that broke. Waiting a bit for the Advil to kick in, which I'm not supposed to take due to the gastric bypass surgery but Tylenol does nothing for me.

I should not have stepped on the scale ☹️
Happy Heart's Day!
I weighed on Monday & was down a pound from Saturday. But today I was up that pound.
I'm having trouble tolerating vitamins and mineral supplements. I get terrible indigestion, bloating, reflux and pain. My belly is hard and uncomfortable this morning. Anyone else have these issues?
I'm trying to take:
Centrum for women
Calcium with minerals
Magnesium
Omega 3
They each cause it. I've been trying only one kind per day to see which one. Its all of them - except the omega(possibly)

Today is Donor Day!
"Donor Day is a holiday that celebrates all those people who have helped save people’s lives by donating blood, marrow, tissue, and even organs. It’s a holiday that drives home exactly how amazing and giving the human spirit is because it pays tribute to so many people who have donated of themselves, often to help save the life of someone they’ve never met." Reminds me, I'm overdue to make a donation.
Allie - What a mess! My parents-in-law have a reverse mortgage, and it worries me a little when I think about what that could mean down the road. I don't begrudge them the funds at all, but I just hope it doesn't end up becoming a financial burden for us when the time comes. You have so much on your plate right now... take as many naps as you need! Everything can wait for an hour or so while you recharge.
Penny - I'd love to see your island paradise. It sounds like the perfect retreat!
Mary - Sorry about John's injury. That sounds nasty! We've got a pickleball league here and I've thought about going to watch. Don't know if my knee would be up to playing, but I'd like to see what it's all about.
Becca - I made skinny spinach lasagna a couple of nights ago, and we're still eating it. Yummy is right! I've never met a lasagna I didn't like.
Joyce - Thank goodness your nephew was persistent and went back to the ER!
DJ - It's so good to hear from you! Thank you for checking in!
Janet & Mary - I've been intrigued by the idea of kettlebells, and you've inspired me. I think I'll find out of there's a place here in town that can get started on how to do them right. The down side of living in a small town is that we don't have the resources I had in Austin. No lap pool, no belly dance or tai chi classes, etc. I mostly stick with things I can do at home these days.
Kelly - Oh, poor Joaquin! Ear infectious are so miserable, and the flu on top of that! Hope the meds make him more comfortable soon.
Loving all the pet photos!
Onederland, I have reached your shores! Never dreamed I'd be so elated about a scale reading of 198. And I finally caught some figure skating last night, so yesterday was a good day.
Philip and I had a good time sitting on the sofa last night and looking at tiny RVs on Craigslist. We've got an ancient shell of a fiberglass travel trailer that we want to renovate, but we're thinking about buying one that's useable in the meantime. It would save us a lot of money in pet care fees when we go visiting. We found a lot of suitable ones for less than we'd expected to spend.
Now it's grey and drippy but birds are flitting around outside my window. Time to get some breakfast and get to work.
Be good to yourselves today!

Pip, that's my 11 year old self kicking in. Saying "Happy VD" for "Valentine's Day" used to be silly when I was a kid. Sorry if I offended anyone
Lanette5 -
Janetr- that is a big leap in weight. Make sure to take it easy! Let me know how it goes. I hope your cheek feels better!
Yvonne - let me know if you need any information on the kettle bell. I do a progressive overload program where you slowly increase the weight or the number of swings to continually increase muscle strength and stamina. Keeps the metabolism at its peak performance.

Betsy , When we visited my in-laws in years past, the only way I could get through it was to decide that the visit was for them and it was unlikely that anything would be the way I wanted. Food, activities, and topics of conversation were nothing that I would have chosen. Best wishes for your visit and a safe return home.

Laura I take calcium and D3 and have none of the symptoms you describe. Has your doctor recommended all of the supplements you take? Can you get some of them from food?1

Happy Valentines Day dear friends..
Janetr- I was at the dentist for a crown yesterday too. Unfortunately, I have to have some other work done. Not looking forward to doing that in April.
Puppup is the cutest dog I have ever seen also. Never heard of that mix, are there breeeders for them?
Had really bad stomach ache last nigh and was getting worried might be another small bowel obstruction but it finally eased up. Not eating much as per doctors instructions last time. He told
me that now that I know what it feels like to stop eating and drinking if I think I have it again. So far today had a cup of tea and just ate a soft boiled egg. Had a few pains after the egg so will not eat anything else for a few hours. I WISH auto-correct would stop trying to help me!!!
Better get busy.

Michele, in regards to Facebook, if your name doesn't appear in the persons list of friends, I think that means your not friends with them. Does that person appear in your list of friends? They may be friends with one of your friends so if that friends name is in the post you would see it. I think it would mean the person who posted has their privacy settings pretty low. As for the "add friend" button not showing up, possibly that person has their privacy settings higher. That's all the insight I have for today. Hope it is of some help.
Allie, I'm not going to yell at you for feeling bad for Tom. You two were married, after all. It's hard to break a habit of 20+ years, but please do not take that feeling into the courtroom! I agree with a few others who have said you should ask for compensation for when Tom's attorney was a no-show. That is pure incompetence on his attorney's part, in my opinion. I also understand wanting to talk things thru and skip the trial, you just want it over and I think that's a very reasonable feeling at this time. Just please, please, please, don't settle for less that you deserve!
Kelly, hugs for Joaquin, poor little fellow. I'm sure he will bounce back quickly, the beauty of being that age is that it doesn't seem to take too long for their systems to get back on track. The antibiotics and tamiflu I'm sure will help!
Terry, I have never gotten rid of a UTI without the help of antibiotics! And the last one (thank heavens not a regular occurence!) was really quick to react to the drugs. Such a relief! Hope you get some relief soon too, so uncomfortable!
Lisa, so glad you were able to save your laptop! Must have been a panic filled hour, I know it would have been for me! Also, good for you for realizing that you can't confront your daughter when you are feeling angry. It will be much better to talk when no one has to be on the offensive or defensive!
Rye, I think that's just awful that no one was there when you were finished your swim! Did you contact the organizers and let them know about the shoddy treatment you recieved? I don't care how long it takes, there should be someone there until the last swimmer/biker/walker etc finishes.
Well, this was supposed to be a quick drive by posting! lol Weigh in today, up 1.2 lbs. Not a huge surprise. I have not done any exercise this past week because of my back. I am feeling better every day, but still nowhere near 100%. Seeing the chiro today, hopefully she can help. I also plan on asking her for some specific strengthening exercises (which I shall do faithfully!) to help prevent this from happening again. Must go feed the cat.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day! (I have a couple small steaks out of the freezer for us. Will be tasty!)

Lanette
Lanette ... nope, didn't offend me ... I remember being 11 years old! My YS claims that I have the soul of a 7 year old! LOL!
Yvonne ... congratulations on the weight loss! My mother-in-law did not have a reverse mortgage, but did have a home equity loan. Our attorney helped us through that. But the big stinker was her leased vehicle! Cost us a fortune ... couldn't just hand it back in to the dealer ... we had to sell it to him and the price was not fair in my opinion ... so we still owed thousands of dollars on the lease out of her estate.
Allie ... I don't know what you're doing with your Dad's estate, but an attorney really is the way to go (I know you're fed up with them by now). He put holds on credit cards and payments and filed paperwork that we wouldn't have known how to do on our own. Ours did not charge us a dime until the estate was settled ... he took his fees from that.
Happy Valentine's Day, ladies!
You are all loved!

Hi, I am fairly new to this app. I just recently started looking through the community portion of it. I have attempted to be a part of some of the discussions. But, received no replies, hugs, hearts or even a friendly welcome. I know it can be difficult for some to be accepting of a newbee. But, really? My apologies for sounding frustrated. I am hoping for some support and to be supportive. I am hoping to find it here. I have been fighting my weight for over 20 years. And, feel the need to stop fighting. I'm really getting to old for it.(lol) Thank you for your time. It is greatly appreciated.
My Goals for February are
1. Log my food every day (so far, yes!)
2. Be a part of a discussion here or another on a daily basis
3. Walk! Walk! Walk!
4. Be a positive support to a least one member

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY ALL YOU LOVELY LADIES!
Lisa, can I go with you to Rome? I'm only across the boarder in VT. lol
Yvonne, Woo Hoo on the weight lose. What a wonder feeling!
Allie, you do what feels right for you. Just remember that you are the advocate for you and you need to end up with something that will work for you. Can't go back and have a do over. ((Hugs))
To all of you who are struggling, I'm sending healing and strength to you. You are all in my thoughts.
I'm feeling much better today with hardly any pain and not too uncomfortable. I think I just might not have to go to the dr for my bladder infection.
Well back to work. Terry3 -

Vickie - just keep jumping in! Many of us only skim these posts so if you (or others of you) feel ignored, it's not on purpose. I found that if a person asks specific questions - like what do we recommend for strength training, do we like our gyms, etc., you'll likely get good responses. And we'll get to know you better.
And the time of year makes a difference - today we have the Valentine's Day theme, lol.
Your goals look very doable!
I wish this app was set up more like Facebook so a person could click on a smiley face instead of just "Hug" and "Like" and "Insightful", etc. Often none of those really fit.
It's been a busy couple months with new gals popping in and I'm losing track
Have a great day!

DH said it was the best steak he had ever had. The fennel was amazing. I did it in the IP. The wine, from Lebanon, was heavenly. I think I am within calories if I just have one truffle and no cheese.
This afternoon I did some kettlebell swings and some line dancing moves while I watched a hospital programme. What could be better than that? My cleaner was cleaning.
Welcome Vickie!
Reading my very inspiring book about running that DH gave me for VD. I think I am obsessed! Who would have thought it! I always said I couldn't run - knee, hips, ankles, blah, blah. Nor did I know how good it makes you feel. For the newbies, I have just taken up the Couch to 5k programme and I am 68, so never say never!

LOL! Lanette and Pip I kind of like Happy VD! It IS the gift that keeps on giving! Very appropriate!
I have to share a laugh with you all, I got up this morning and my DH was in the kitchen waiting for me. He was talking to me, but I couldn't understand a word he was saying. It was like he had peanut butter stuck to the roof of his mouth. I hadn't had coffee yet, so I kind of gave him a crabby look and griped "I can't understand what the H*** you are saying." He got mad and went downstairs to his office. My laptop email pinged me. It was an e-mail from him. "I burnt the roof of my mouth on something I warmed up in the microwave! It hurts! What do I do?!" lol By that time I had gotten a couple of gulps of coffee in me and found the whole thing rather funny. After a minute or so of hysterical laughing and cleaning coffee spritzed all over my laptop; I googled "How to care for a burn on the roof of your mouth", read it, sent it to him, got up and made him a salt water gargle, grabbed some advil and took it downstairs to him. Big baby! lol KJ12 -

Hi, Vickie.
We are pretty supportive here, but some of the discussions on some of the other boards can be less so at times. I rarely venture out of this thread anymore.
Good luck with your February goals.

Mary, thanks I figured you would mention that. These are the only two kettlebells I presently have. I did cut down the reps and sets and I did just fine. I actually thot I could have easily handled at least one more set but didn't do it, don't want to cause some injury or pain that I will regret later.
My jaw is feeling better, thanks, not as sore but is still swollen a bit, I'm sure that we go away quickly.
