Hi from Glendale Arizona. Having fun with the kids and grandkids and their two dogs. Feels wonderful to be soaking up some sun and some hugs. Will be here until Monday and then will head south of Phoenix to San Tan Valley to visit with Jim and Elaine... Jack's older brother and wife. I'll have to figure out how to post pictures...

Hello my dear leaders. I am typing on my iPad tonight so my fingers know where they are going a lot better. All I had to do was buy a new charger. If only I had listened to my daughter it would have been so much easier.

To whomever suggested the meditation app, I thank you. I download it thinking it would help lower my blood pressure. And it does, so that is the most rapeason I added it.

I fell again tonight.mi was stepping up onto the porch from the sidewalk.myou all remember the sidewalk is a lot ,owner than the porch. So I walked up and grabbed ahold of the big milk jug with a seat on it. Well the seat is no longer attached, so down I go. Charlies karaoke buddy was there and char.ie tried t grab from under my arms and Jim push from behind. And he was on my behind. All I needed was Charlie to take my right hand and assist me to my feet. But they are men. But I am fine. It is a reminder that I need to call the guy who said he would put up a fail for us. He said he needed to wait until the temperatures were better. Well it was 55 degrees today. I was hoping that when I was out that my fingers would fell better. But no. So I went out for my occupational therapy. I continue to do well.

I am sorry your son is having struggles around alcohol. Loving them is about all we can do. It's just so difficult.

I live in Canada but I don't know how to Figure Skate or Curl. Lol. I do have a niece who is a figure skating coach and numerous friends who curl.
I didn't skate much as a kid because we only had natural ice and it just doesn't last during a Chinook.

Allie - Tom is having a hard time dealing with this? Remind me which part of this he isn't responsible for?
You have tried so often to make it better for Tom. Please leave it with your lawyer and have your day in court.

Okay, so I haven't set February goals.
1.Move more , eat less
-moving more by doing the exercise bike at least 15 min 3xwk
- swimming 1-2x wk
- yoga 2x wk
Eat less
-Cutting pop except at movie.
-Moving towards cleaner eating
- Upping the veggie intake.
2. Journal instead of eating feelings.
3. Phone, write, visit a friend 1x week
4. Get our tax paperwork ready for accountant.
5. Do something fun at least 1x week, daily if possible
6. Clean up writing room and get back to it.

Larry has been in Saskatchewan for the last few days. He has been texting me and calling me. We will see what happens. I will try again to have a serious discussion as to what is happening , what needs to happen and what we both want and are willing to work for. I think he would like to sweep everything under the rug but I am not willing to do that. Do I want to save my marriage? Yes. Am I willing to be verbally and emotionally abused again? No.

I went to the movie "Coco" with my 2 dear granddaughters and their Moms. It was a really good movie but Harmony did tell me "Grandma, I liked it but it might be too long for my attention span" Keira thought her brother should have come because of the guitar playing. She says "I sure am glad that no big headed people sat in front of us". I love these two girls to bits.

We also went out for Indian food. We picked up Greysyn and my son joined us when he got back into town. I ate way too much but it was delicious. I love Indian food. Both Jheri and Jason asked when I was going to cook an Indian feast. I'll have to think about it but I know if I cook it I will not be able to resist.

I bought myself fudge at work today. I am not sure why. I ate it until I felt sickened. I did leave before I ate the cake that also beckoned to me. Being off for the weekend I know both fudge and cake will disappear before Monday. Needing to grocery shop but being put off by the snow and the cold.

My DBIL shovelled my walk 3x yesterday. He could have used one of our snowblowers but chose to do it the old fashioned way.

Hello all! good morning and happy Saturday! Thank God, thankgod, thank god! lol I was pretty tired last night. It is amazing. It wasn't a very busy week. Only four to five kids here every day, rather than 6-8 kids. But I think it was/is the stress of waiting for that darned licensing consultant to show up! Grrrr...stress is a thief of energy, too! I have chosen to let that go. No more stressing about licensing. When she shows, she shows. Oh, and my snow day yesterday? It started out that I was only going to have two kids here; but by mid morning I had all five! LOL! I ended up getting calls from the teacher/mommies, asking me to take their kids so they could get some things done. (What?! Can't get anything done with a two year old and a nine month old around?? Imagine that! lol) The kids arrived in a "mood" because of the late start and morning with mom, they most likely thought it was a "mommy day". But their mood changed after a couple rounds of Wheels On The Bus and Baby Shark and I had a pretty happy little group yesterday.
This past week was Children's Book Author week so our Authors and activities were as follows: Eric Carle- We made a house for hermit crab out of shells and other little doo-dads to decorate it and in the kitchen we made very hungry caterpillar fruit kebabs, Leo Lionni- We made Alexander, the lizard, and the purple pebble puppets from Alexander and the Wind Up Mouse and in the kitchen we made mouse sized snacks (mini sandwiches and nibbles), Dr. Seuss- We made daisy head hats (from Daisy Head Mayzie) and we made truffula tree snacks (colored peanut butter "fluff" on carrot and celery trunks), Maurice Sendak- We made Wild Thing Masks and made "morning cake/pancakes", Lois Ehlert- we made color zoo pictures and made vegetable soup (Growing vegetable soup). All in all, a good week. Busy, happy kiddos.
I got up today at my normal 5:30, thinking I would need to shovel to get out and get my shopping done; but we didn't get any snow last night. ??? The storm must have dumped some where else. So...I have time for coffee and reading (your posts).
Sharon - hugs to you as you figure out what to do about Larry. It sounds as if you had a wonderful time with your grandkids, though! Indian food! Yummm! I haven't tried to cook much of it, yet. I love it, my dys is so-so on it, my hubby is not a fan of curry and other exotic tastes.
Joyce-Omigoodness! You just need to stop and sit some where! But if you MUST get up and go; YES, a railing! Maybe get a bucket of sand to put on your steps when it is that in-between temp. (Could be icy, could be wet/slush) At least the sand will create some traction to help keep you from slipping! Be careful, friend! Sending love P.S. Pip- great story on how you got your nickname here. I love the name Isabel, and irl I would probably call you Iz or Izzy. But for now, here in this place, you look and feel like a Pip! Great Expectations. Great book and character. And Kirby; his support of you and your love for Lenny speaks so much for his greatness of heart and being! What a gem! and you can give him a big hug from me for being the "person" in our Pip's life!

With that...I am off to the market. I have a week of meals to prep for and it is my weekend to cook a couple of meals for my inlaws. The rest of the weekend, I will put my leg up and see if I can get over this knee issue. Limited mobility is a PITA!!

anyway you are correct about spending time with Tom, old habits die hard I guess, and we are trying to make it a friendly transition... dont worry when we sign the papers , will hand over to him all the evidence I had copies of, so there is no denying he cheated.. and it will be done..
here is hoping today goes smoothly at work, and then home for a bit and to see the medium..
have court date tues and hope that this solves most of it, and we can get this thing moving.... Sean and I have alot of talking to do, and to try and figure out what we want to do with dads house, we owe 64,000 on the reverse mortgage.. the house and land are worth more than that.. but it is in rough shape... we are going to try and go for an extension ,as we have alot of stuff to get out of the house... either way.. and right now who knows about my job either.. the person who made the decision about my leaving doesnt work for the company anymore, and I have to hand it to Claudia the office manager even though she is my daughters age, she was able to get me 2 days of bereavement pay a full 8 hr day, which non of the others got, and I have to keep under my hat.. so here is hoping they keep me on.

Morning, afternoon, evening all,

Am playing Words with Friends (which I have gotten addicted to) on Facebook games in between be-bopping around the computer everywhere.

"Spoke" to the son last night, with the quotations as it was over Messenger. When he needs money, he hates to actually call. He sent me a picture of an empty fridge. We sent him money again. No matter what he spends it on, it's impossible to just sit on our hands and let him starve. His school grant money isn't in until next week, and half of that goes to child support for the little girl we will most likely never get to meet, and that he's met only once. That's OK, if half of it goes to her, at least it keeps him out of jail.

My husband noted that, at the same age, he called his own dad, asked to move back in with him, and took the state's offer of paying the unemployed to go to the Institute of Mining to get a certificate in mining. Which he successfully did, met John's mother, married her, and adopted her daughter, who WE are now living with to help her out while her husband's deployed. John was born two years later. I asked my husband once what drove all that, and he said he looked at Kelsey, just a few months old, and realized he needed something to center him and give him something to live for--to get him out of the drugs and alcohol. It worked. We're all here.

As far as John and alcohol goes, the only thing I said to him was that wine opens the door to the dark, as does any alcohol. I'm fairly sure he's not medicated at the moment, and probably hasn't been for months. He was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder while he was in the military. I can't fix that, either. Sorry to be Debbie Downer this morning... It's not all as grim as it sounds. Hopefully.

I am so fortunate to have my exercise bike facing the TV so I can watch TV while I ride. Yesterday I watched a TV show and then quite a bit of figure skating and some curling while riding. Didn't get much done on my "to do" list but all that could wait another day or two. I am also fortunate to have DVR so i can record shows and watch when I want to and fast forward through the commercials or too much talking.

Betsy, we don't travel much now, but hearing about your trip has reminded me of how much fun we had when we did go long distances and see new places.

Allie, Tom stopped being your friend and person to protect when he began verbally abusing you and cheating on you. Find someone else to advise you. Don't let him know anything about your possible financial gain from your father. He'll use it to bolster his case that you don't need much alimony from him. Stop letting him influence your life.

Joyce, sorry about your fall.

fKaren UK, I don't try to post from my phone because there are too many shortcomings. I use my computer and can use smileys and post pictures with ease.

Barbara, I prefer to meditate in the morning right after breakfast, but if I'm running late, I add it to my "to do" list and make sure it gets done later in the day. Did I suggest Dan Harris's books "10% Happier" and "Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics"? They have been great influences on my meditation practice along with listening to his podcast when I walk the dogs.

DH at work today. He works every other Saturday until 2. I usually clean house and today won’t be an exception. Although just lying here in bed sounds good too.

By the time I got out of work yesterday I wasn’t feeling well. But this morning I feel fine so just must have been tired. I was so worried I was sick and wouldn’t be able to go shopping with DD on Monday. I have to get some new clothes as it seems like every thing I pull out of my closet these days is too big. Never thought I’d say that.

Well better get up, let the dog out, shovel a bit and then get cleaning.

Was going to do this DVD from Prevention but realized that it's all pilates. I like to do pilates and yoga in the condo and wanted to do something that involved cardio because I was in the rear of the clubhouse so I got one of Leslie Sansone's DVDs and did that. Boy, is it humid down here! I had downloaded this DVD and so it was just in a DVD envelope. By the time I came back up, the envelope was all crumpled. I'll just have to get a new one when I get home. The plan for tomorrow is that I'll do that pilates DVD

Thought the opening ceremonies for the Olympics was really nice. Amazing how they got all those drones so close yet not crashing into one another. I know Vince would like to see the curling, but it's on a TV channel that we don't get down here. I'm looking forward to seeing the figure skating.

Joyce, Joyce, Joyce -- what are we going to do with you???????????? Wonder why the guy has to wait until it's warmer to put up the handrail? If it's because he needs to set it in concrete, there's an type of antifreeze that can be added to the concrete so that it sets even in winter. I'm sure he knows about it, but I can't help but wonder if the reason he wants to wait until it's warmer is because that's easier for him.

Lisa - is there any way you can get food delivered to your son? Then at least you'd know that he had food

Barbara - I would never have thought that Joyce's login name might be associated with the device she's posting from. That could very well be the fact.

Well, the plan for this morning is to go to the ceramics place down here, then Lowe's to recycle some tubes, then WalMart (I forgot to get almond milk and we need a paper anyway), then this place to take some donations to. That's where we got this nice painting for the living room down here so we will probably look in there. Sometimes they have nice clothing.
