Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD,
Oh nooooo! Men's bathrooms are awful! I get baby wipes free from the food banks, so I make my husband clean his own throne! Also, its frustrating because he has broken the plastic parts that connect the seat to the toilet. Too much sitting, and moving to do his business! Every once in awhile I attack it. I get around the tabs, clean the connector metal pipes, and around the back. He has enough connectors to keep it on there, but sheesh! We will have to buy a new throne seat and lid when we move, but not high on my priority list! I have taken over the smaller bathroom Owain used. So what does my husband do? He uses MY bathroom!!!! No, no its my throne!! So of course, my connectors are getting loose now! Grrrr.

Rye, I always had very few eyebrows, what was there were very very light blonde so about 8 years ago I got "permanent eyebrows and eyeliner" done. More or less tatoo. I have loved loved it but now that I have gotten this age Black not white or gray but black wild sticking out eyebrows grow in. I pluck them regularly.

Rye - it's so funny you'd ask that, my daughter just went for her monthly eyebrow waxing, and I'd honestly rather eat dirt than have someone put hot wax near my eyeballs! I pluck mine semi-regularly, that being every six to eight weeks, but they don't grow terribly fast, and the older I get, the less they seem to grow.

I haven't had my eyebrows waxed since I moved to Oregon because it's a different license here, and I'm too lazy to go to two different people. But I did it a lot when I lived in Kansas. I remember my youngest sitting on my lap and watching them do it one time, and he was so confused. "Doesn't that hurt??" The hairdresser responded, "Yep! The cost of beauty." (Or something like that.)

I've just been plucking myself, and it doesn't look as good.

    Please help ...

...If I do a little bit of exercise, like an hour's walk (200 cal), I eat about half my exercise calories back...

Machka, I thought walking a mile burns off about a hundred calories, so walking an hour should burn off 300-400 calories, shouldn't it???

One of the things my son said to me about his sister a week or so ago made me cackle. "I always keep things inside, and dam them up, but she's pretty much only got one stick to her beaver dam." It was far too apt for comfort, but funny as all get out, nonetheless. Considering I didn't get them until he was 15 and she was 17, they both mirror me in ways that can get hilarious. Points up my failings on occasion as well, both as a human being and as a parent, but I try to take it with a grain of salt.

    Love y'all,

    Good morning!

We saw 6 houses over the weekend and bid on 1 of them. Countered another bid with owners last evening. Whoop whoop and they accepted! It's an interesting situation that totally works to our advantage. They want to close quickly and then rent back from us. We have this rental house until July. So they will sign a rental agreement with us and vacate the home near the end of May. Their rent will cover our rent and more! Sweet deal for us. Lots of inspections and paperwork but hopefully this is our #homesweetTexashome!

Cheri This is so exciting! Can't wait to see some pics over the next year or so as you get settled in. xo

Heather I hope you get your house!

Curious... do/did you pluck your eyebrows? I did the day of my wedding and maybe once or twice In High school. It hurt.

Friend’s jaw dropped to the floor when I said I didn’t/don’t. She said she never realized some women did not pluck their eyebrows regularly. My jaw dropped at that.

    Never.

At some point in my teens, I was told that if I did start plucking my eyebrows, I would have to continue to do it for the rest of my life. That settled it. No way was I going to get involved in all that.

When it comes to all that sort of thing, I go with the easiest route possible.

My hair is hip length which makes it really easy for me to take care of. Shower, conditioner, comb and I'm done.

I only shave my legs on skirt days.

My makeup is a touch of foundation.

And I try to go simple and comfortable with my clothes.

I've got it down now so that I can wake up and be out the door to work or university in 35 minutes. :)

:smirk: It all depends. I burn about 60-65 calories a mile. Even running is not quite 100 calories a mile.

That's a small apple, for those of you keeping track.

    Felicia, sucks to be short
    Willamette Valley, Oregon

I feel ya! Sucks to be short, indeed. Estimates are 160 calories for an hour of walking (53 ish A mile) for me :(. That is actually one reason I swim. A more reasonable calorie burn for effort and time, imo. Estimates say I burn around 380 cal an hour swimming IIRC. And then there is the problem that if my math is correct then those estimates are close to twice actual calories burned. :(:(:(

Yeah, a lot like me. Almost no makeup, hair long straight cut, clothes comfortable, tweezers used for the odd granny hair and splinters - and I’ve never had anything waxed. (Shudder!).

Am I clean and tidy? If yes then I’m good to go. Lol. My nieces despair!
