Tell me, if my protein is adequate, fat adequate, micros being met, what actual, quantifiable harm is the sugar doing to me however I'm eating it?
Inflammation of soft tissue - Insulin sensitivity (High A1C numbers) - heart disease, peripheral neuropathy for starters
Evidence for this? And not one of the spurious links you've already provided.

This is just a description of peripheral neuropathy. It doesn't even come close to supporting the claims you've made so far.4 -
This is a true Friday, feel like I haven't had one of these for a while . . .16

Obesity is the number one driver of diabetes...not carbs or sugar directly. People who are obese eat a *kitten* ton of everything...and yes, once you are diabetic is important to watch your carbs and sugar very closely...because you have a medical condition at that point.
Carbs and sugar in and of themselves don't cause diabetes...eating a *kitten* ton of food in general does. You can spike your blood sugar eating a *kitten* ton of protein too...
I don't need to eat like a diabetic...because I'm not a diabetic. I'm not a particular risk either given that I'm not over fat in the least.5 -
Again, an article and not a study. A meta-analysis would be even better, but I suppose that's too much to hope for. Again, talking only about a certain subset of people (those with diabetes) and not the population as a whole.2 -

Truth right there.

This article (which is not the same as a study) is about people with diabetes. Do you have any evidence of this being a concern for the majority of the healthy population, or are we talking about those dreaded outliers again?
and pre-diabetic Hig A1C numbers - 40% carbs is too high ---- and will lead to long term inflamation
What is the basis for this claim?1 -

bottom line 40% is too high - 20% is better - especially when you can get the ATP you need from Fat content - FAT is good for you - small amount of sugar you need but not almost half you diet
Who is talking about getting half their calories from sugar? This is something you've made up, it doesn't resemble any of the diets being recommended here.

Is the OP diabetic or pre-diabetic? I thought she just had holes in her intestines. If someone is diabetic or has pre-diabetes then the recommendations change (although I still say that a straight bro split isn't the way to go and recommendations should be based on their actual stats). But for everyone else, including me, the OP, and most of the people in this thread, it's unnecessary to worry about diabetic concerns.5 -

The nice thing is that this implosion happened on a thread that was already destined to crash and burn anyway, rather than hijacking a legit discussion. I'm surprised and grateful it hasn't been nuked yet, I do NOT feel like getting my work done.7

You shouldn't augur with anyone, attempts to predict the future in that manner are generally a waste of time.21 -

we all destined to die some sooner than others
You can pry my carbs from dead cold hands. I am not even remotely in fear after reading all this I am doing one thing wrong with MY diet or exercise.2 -
Those dang carbs.
10 -
Don't worry . . . it's just a burger patty on a lettuce leaf in the bag. The vegetable content is low enough that you won't have to worry about getting the sugars.11 -

I am neither diabetic nor pre-diabetic. Carbs and I are good.
Again, A STUDY, an actual link to an actual study, not an article, not you shouting MAYO or anything else.1 -
I'm surprised I didn't drop dead from all those refeeds I did in the last few months of last year. I was pushing 300+ grams of carbs a day on weekends, easily over 40% of my cals. And yet here I am, slim, healthy (other than eczema and hay fever, which have no connection to carb or sugar intake, might have tested that one already...), perfect blood work (including A1C). I are special snowflake?5
