Good evening ladies! I so love that you all keep me company on my walks. Too many notes for tonight's time. But know that I read all your stories and comments.
Rita- Happy Birthday!
Welcome to the newbies! This is a great group of women. Lots of great support can be found here. They will make you life, make you cry, and kick you in the butt if you need it. Welcome!
My to do list for today changed up, but for the good. No paper scanning done. It will wait for a rainy day. I ended up dusting and vacuuming house. Laundry almost done. Kitchen cleaned up. Decluttered guest bedroom wall. Now it needs painting badly. That will be a fall project while the husband is hunting. I hate painting when he is home as he supervises and wants to end early. I want the job done, so will go until it is done. I know that in the winter especially if I have had the curtains closed for too many days in a row, the house starts to feel gloomy. Kind of like it needs some sunshine even if we aren't home to see. Well, today, it just screamed at me to dust and vacuum it. I know it sounds strange, but it feels happier and more peaceful. Happy with the day
I hope your weekend was all you wanted. Paying a couple of bills, then heading to bed. Trying to get that 7 hours of sleep.

I am going to go pick the hula hoop off the floor for five minutes.

I catch up on these posts while DH watches TV, and to keep my mind off getting a snack. I love the pet photos. We had a Labrador a while ago, best dog ever! It's been a few years since she's been gone and I've been dragging my feet about getting another dog. Our new agreement is a new kitchen and flooring first. (Otherwise, nothing will get done!)
Turkey slider sounds good! Love cranberries!
Signed up with a gym primarily for the classes. I've been to 2 of them and boy, did I feel the burn! I'm better at following than relying on myself to do what I've been shown. Plus I hope to get better socializing with people I don't know, and getting the thoughts out of my head.
I made a rough menu for the week ahead. I say rough because it's subject to change. I absolutely hate cooking, but if I have an idea, I'm less likely to have junk.
TTFN!

This morning ...
- 2 hour lecture at university
- 5 km walk
- a little bit of grocery shopping at a place I only stop at when I'm walking between university and work ... they've got one or two things which are different from our usual grocery store
- a glance at cycling shoes in the bicycle shop I passed ... I need some with a wider toe box
- and work!
OK, now to get started on the afternoon!!
Oh ... good news ... I'm down 2.5 kg from the peak I hit when we returned from our holiday in Victoria. I had gained 1 kg on that holiday, which I suspect was water weight, so ... I might actually be down 1.5 kg in weight.
Welcome to all the newcomers ... just jump right in and start posting. I usually skim everyone's comments and if there is something I'd like to reply to, I'll do that. Plus I post some of my exercise stats and a few other things.
I really like hearing what people are doing for exercise, sports and activities. We've got a few here who train for marathons, epic hikes, long distance cycling, and other adventures!

It doesn't sound weird to me. I walk around for two days smiling at my house after cleaning and scrubbing . It just feels good!

Gretchen Rubin says in her writing about happiness that outer order contributes to inner calm. For me that means more about putting things away where they belong and keeping surfaces tidy, but it is the same for cleaning. Taking care of the outside can make the inside feel better.
I got many items crossed off my list today and it feels great. I was also able to spend lots of quality time with my hubby including watching the Academy Awards. He's paying more attention than I am, but I am here with him and have cheered for several of the winners.

It would appear that I'm going to spray our (husband's and my) bedroom with something.
All night long, I kept dreaming that I was being bitten by something, and I was restless in the night.
This morning I woke up with my right arm covered in welts ... like the large red mossie-bite welts I get. There's another one on my left hand, and my back and scalp are also itchy in places.
I wasn't paying much attention when I hastily dashed out the door to catch the early bus to the university this morning, but when I got to work, I had a better look at my arm, and if I had to guess, a swarm of mosquitoes descended on me in the night. Or maybe spiders?
Ah the joys of summer in Australia!!

Love this cat, that isn't mine! Its just a page I like!
This is another cat that's sweet. His name is Fred and he's excited to know what came out of a kiln. I am following a local pottery company on FB.
The world is telling me I need a cat! But husband hates them, oh Boohoo!

Wendy, that's quite the boot! I should print that and tape it up in various spots, pretty sure it would make me thinķ twice about any extra snacking....
Becca, the cats are so sweet! Too bad your hubby doesn't like them.....
We are down to just one cat and she's not long for this world, poor old thing. She's been a good girl and we will miss her. She even likes being picked up now!
Managed to brush my teeth before the damage was too bad, going to be heading upstairs for shower and bed soon. Have to go online and register for a couple of classes that are offered at our local rec centre, one is TRX, the other is kettlebells. I've done TRX several times now, but I've never used kettlebells before. After reading about the success so many here are having with them, I decided I'd like to give them a try but want to to do a class first, want to make sure of form etc. Should be interesting....

Sue in WA: Congratulations to your friend on her winnings. I hope she uses it wisely and is blessed by the event. I also hope she isn't beset with beggars and thieves.
Pip: I love your beautiful dogs.
Kym in Ontario Canada: Welcome!!! :flowerforyou:
Sue in Troutdale: It is awesome to see another person form Oregon here. There are a few of us from the valley, the coast and along the Columbia.
Machka: A person should be safe from insects when sleeping in her own bed. I hope you are better already.
I had a lovely riding lesson today. It feels like it has been months since my last lesson. My last lesson was in early January. Travel interfered, but seeing our kids and grandkids was worth it.

Wendy I hope you have fun with the hula hoop. Honestly, it gives me such a big smile.
Becca I can not imagine my husband not loving cats. That would be hard for me, I need a furry love ball or two or three in my life. Here is Kidd Kirby waiting for me to feed him dinner this afternoon
So week 1 of my personal hula hoop challenge successfully completed.
And day one of my FMD successfully completed.
Warm thoughts to all.

I'm being driven insane by the itchiness. Well, not quite that bad, but it really is annoying. The most bit area is on and under my right arm where my sleeve rubs when I have my arm down. I get quite large reactions to things like mosquito bites.

Well I'm done with all the pages. I had. O idea Rita had her birthday yesterday along with mine. I have several other people with birthdays yesterday. 'Twas a brand day, I found out Michelle paid $8 for a birthday car for me! $8! Why would she do that, she was considering bankruptcy,. But I do love her dearly. She called me last night to make sure I was ok. She's a good kid.
Lisa, you might be in onederland soon. I am still in mine but just barely, just barely. It's just funny if it is even on your mind to weigh Mozart, he is on the run. I think I will call his vet. He really has no problem but hasn't had a check up in a year. My main concern is his weight. According to our scales its 15.6 so I would just call for a year checkup. At that visit, I would ask if there is a chance he has some Maine coone and if there is a diet we should follow.
It's just been a normal day in our household. As you know it's Sunday. I have been to church since our Chrirtmas cantata last December. Everything from taking a shower and getting ready to go to church to being in church, unable to turn pages in my bible or the hymnal and sing, I can't do without causing myself extreme pain. And sense I haven't been there for that long, lots of people will want to ask me how I am. Talking makes my cheek and lips hurt. So I stay home. We get a monthly newsletter and I love to read the short devotion our pastor rights. That is my preaching for the month.
We have set up our day to go to the Ark Encounter. My brother who works there will give us a personal escorted tour and get us in at half price. I don't know if everything is half price if he is with us or not. Like lunch, the zip line, etc. would be nice. Scooter rental for me is $35 but I can't figure a way todo it. I got the phone number and will call them. Will also call a d pay some bills and call Doctor C. and let him know how I feel.
Last night one brother called me and tonight the other one did. To my sis and myself, their call is the highlight of our days. If I could record my brother Paul's laugh, it would be good enough for me. He was the one who was a chaplain in a hospice. He is just such a special guy. He was telling me about his low T. I'm sorry, I do t want to know about his low T and how all it affects him. His testosterone level is not of my concern. Maybe I should research it to see if it is a serious thing.
Rita, I didn't know we had the sAme birthday. Happy birthday to you also.
My fingers are the same and sometimes the cheek feels the same. But right now my glove feels pretty good.
My sleeping pills are kicking in so before I say something stupid, I bid you good night. Joyce, Indiana7 -
Hi. I would like to join this group, but am not sure how to find it again??
My health goals are
1. To get to bed each night without falling asleep on the couch first for several hours. AND get 6-8 hours of sleep.
2. To get back to lifting 3x per week.
3. In addition to the lifting, any type of exercise 3x week
4. Keep calories down even as exercise increases
5. Lose 6 more pounds to get under awful big number and never see it again
I am going to use my old formula of one protein serving, one fruit and one veggie for 3 x per day. The fruit had enough sugar to keep the sugar cravings for junk food away.
Thanks.

It's in the Motivation and Support subforum, usually right near the top.
Also, you can bookmark it by clicking the blank star above the search magnifying glass near the top. It will turn yellow when you click it.
Then click the grey start right at the top from wherever you are to find it again.

Morning! The concert was a great success. As I was walking into the warmup room, I heard all the children playing their favorite piece together without me—they ended the piece perfectly looked up and noticed me, and I said “well, I guess you don’t need me, And walked back out of the room to howls of laughter! Sweet moment.
After the concert (which went well)! I went out to dinner with my new friend, a little scary to reach out but a good thing, making a new friend. Perhaps after all, this is what I need to be doing, being a friend, simple no?
Ah well, back to Monday work week

Rita belated best birthday wishes!
Heather, "...finished typing out my memoir" Brava! Big deep breath. 4 AF days in a row? Very well done. Most for me has been 3. Here in the US, buyers can make offers contingent on the sale of their home, believe there's usually a time limit. I've never heard of a chain of contingencies as long as what you describe. Truly nail-biting!
Katla AHMOD works for one dog too "finely pleated chiffon" LOL!
Lanette nicotine gum made it possible for me to quit in 1999. Gave me something to chomp when the urges were worst. Sending peaceful energy to you both.
Evelyn that "one more thing" to do is what makes me have to rush to get places on time. One more habit I'd like to lose
Kay could it have been the cabbage that smelled so bad? So glad to hear you and Dave are still alive
Allie ow! Know Alfie is taking good care of you.
Sue so glad to hear that your friend won a big PCH prize. Thought it was a fake and no one ever one, happy to have been wrong Good luck with the EKG and could we please see labradoodle puppy pics?
pip "floor exercises", atta gal!
Betty the broccolini, pine nuts, grilled lemon, hummus, tabouli, grilled chicken sounded so good I had to google "sumac". Amazed to find the Martian Pod Trees we had in Boise were actually an edible spice... or more properly a pink lemonade alternative Good luck with the blood tests.
Terry sending good thoughts. I was stuck yesterday too and had to dig out Karen's "micro action" fix. Prepped one veg. Meditated one minue. Felt a little better.
Sue in Troutdale great plan to use gym classes for motivation, socializing and mind-clearing.
Machka 1.5 kg? congrats!!! Bites and welts? Yikes!!! So with you about swelling when insect bitten... BUgs love me, when we visit Joe's kin in Kentucky every bug in the state rubs its little hands together in joy and chuckles "she's baaaacckk!"
Welcome Vicki in Italy, Kim in SW FLA, Kym in Ontario and Deb.
Kim in SW Fla would taking a class like Sue in Troutdale help start the friend making process? After several weeks at T'ai Chi class, some of the gals invited me to join them for coffee after... it's a start... ;}
Deb would you let us know where you are? This in case there are other Debs posting.
Finally figured out I felt low last night because I saw a text from my half sister which reminded me I hadn't returned my stepdad's birthday call. Felt guilty, then felt bad for blaming her text. By then it was too late to call either. Karen's micro action to the rescue. Short meditation, SWSY upper body then slept. Called both this afternoon, left voicemail for SD, had nice chat with HS. She suggested we call/talk more, and I agreed. We really don't know each other at all, having met only when in our forties. Feel much better.
Tumble helping me meditate this morning She'd been outside and her belly, feet and nose were wet and COLD!
hugs to all,
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD.

Good Monday morning from Ohio! It is cold again. I have been spoiled these past 2 weeks with the hint of spring.
Feeling ready for the week. Will have to work at steps at least today and tomorrow. Work, then massage tonight. Was up at 4 this morning-smh. Needed up to work on some paperwork, but really? Tomorrow I have class 90 minutes away all day. Will be another really early morning and sitting day.
Kitchen floor mopped, paperwork as complete as I can do at home, laundry done and put away. Usually I find the last load in the dryer when I start next run.
Wise choices for everyone today!
Joyce- I hope you get to feeling better today.

Yes ... they seem to love me too! My husband was in bed beside me, and didn't have a single bite. Whatever it was went after me alone. I've been discovering more bites throughout the day. I've got several on my right arm, and I've discovered a couple behind my right knee, and on my right hip. Plus I'm sure I've got some on my back.
I checked the bed, and couldn't find anything there. Then I sprayed it with Eucalyptus spray ... so much we had to go for a walk!
The only thing I can think of is that something might have gotten into my nightgown. I'll have to check that. And who knows, it might have been in my hair and was washed down the drain when I showered this morning. I do know that as I was waking up, I put my hand on the nape of my neck and felt something there, which I dropped, and would have dropped it onto my hair. So maybe it's long gone.

Good morning all! Happy Monday! Just a quick plea for good thoughts, healing and comfort for myself, my DYS and most of all to our friends. News last night that one of my friends lost her oldest son to leukemia, yesterday. Her son was good friends with my DYS. This woman lost her DH 15 years ago to bone cancer; since that time both of her sons have been diagnosed with leukemia/bone cancer. Both have had it (at separate times) and gone into remission. It returned to her oldest son in December and he has been in hospice since then. My heart is heavy for her. I just can't imagine. That's all I have right now. Not much sleep last night, my brain is a fog. Putting a smile on and waiting for "my normal" to overtake me again. I worry for my friend. After so much loss, is sorrow, worry and grief her "normal"? ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)
P.S. celebrating with all of your joys! Keep sharing, living those full and busy days! I am reading and soaking up some joy from you!

Good morning Ladies,
Terry - Please stop beating yourself up over what you have eaten. You can't change the past so please let it go. Concentrate on one meal at a time and do your best. That's all you can do and that is a start. Big hugs my friend!
Kylia - I know what you mean. Sometimes the house just screams at me to finally please clean it. I am a very neat person generally, everything is in its place and organized. However, I am not a clean freak. I can live with some dust no problem.
Wendy - Laughing at your picking up the hula hoop for 5 minutes. I tried a few years ago and couldn't even get it to go around once!
Sue in Troutdale - I'm sorry you lost your Lab. We lost our fur baby almost two years ago. He was my constant companion and one of my very best friends. My hubs traveled a lot for work so Sam and I were home alone. He had some health issues that required him not being left alone unsupervised so we were literally together all the time the last 18 months or so of his life. I wouldn't change it for the world. I was lucky enough to work from home so he laid in the office next to my desk. Neither my husband nor I are ready for another dog. At this point, we still miss Sam, we don't miss having a dog. I am also enjoying the freedom to travel when I want to see friends or tag along with hubs when he travels for work. I can work from anywhere as long as I can log in and have access to mail a check .
Machka - Yeah for the loss! Bug spray for sure! OH MY GOODNESS!
Katla - Yeah for getting back to Arrow. I know you both enjoyed that!
Rye - Congrats on week one of the hula hoop challenge being done! Great job!!
Deb - Welcome!
Kim - I hope your daughter feels better soon!
NYKaren - Congrats on the successful concert!
Peach - The grands look great! Congrats on their baptism.
Barbara - Tumble is adorable!!
Kelly - Prayers for you, your son, your friend and all the family. I also pray the children will pick up your spirits and distract you for a while today to let you have some peace.
Have a great day ladies!
