Thank you all for your reassuring tales of eating differently from husbands. We've always been on different eating schedules and rarely ate together while I was working, except for weekends. Now that I'm retired, I tried cooking main mid day for us as Joe won't eat after 2pm due to his GERD. He gets up around 4 and cooks his own breakfast. Even if I'm up that early I can rarely eat before 8 and more often around 10. Well, the mid day dinner has fallen by the wayside. Just as well, I get frustrated when he won't eat my grass fed, organic, nitrate-free beef but will stop at DQ for a bacon burger. :ohwell:
Carol, another gazelle-like grand. Swift and beautiful!
Katla "worms and sawdust" HAH! Another tea-snorter
Rori likewise I'm better with dogs than children. Thank Goodness that's what I got
Rebecca I misread "Islander extraordinaire" to be "I slender extraordinaire" and will hold that image of you
Michelle, maybe the edible glitter would stay shiny on a sturdier (boiled?) frosting or glaze than buttercream? Breaking one of the drill bits seems a bit extreme to motivate your DH, but it sounds like something I'd have to do too
JanetR Felicity is a beautiful flower. Her date is one lucky guy.
Barbie "Jake made the decision of what goes in which drawer so he can no longer say that he doesn't know where to find things." SMH that you could so yield that to Jake. I could never. Comfort myself that it wouldn't matter as Joe would never put anything away the same place twice
Sharon delighted to hear about your joyful day. Wishing you more.
Machka "First ride since..." bravely done. Could you see/smell/hear for your DH on these rides? Being confined to indoors must be so very very hard. (((hugs))) to you both.
NYKaren "...to help her process..." that was a generous gift.
Okie vacuum sealed prepped lettuce keeps for up to 10 days? No way! What brand do you recommend?
Welcome rozv, sgm
Time to meditate, dress to shoes and leave for church. When I get back will bake brownies for the RFPD firefighters' appreciation BBQ. Tried to get Joe to come with, but he won't budge.
Love to you all,Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD.

Barbara - I just had a couple of heads of iceberg (I like the crunch) so I gave it a try. I figured all I had to lose was the pint size vacuum seal bags. Worked great!

Janetr, Felicity is a beautiful young lady and that prom dress is a knockout! Hoping she will overcome her shyness and self confidence issues.
Sharon, I agree with Kim (California) the counselor will be the one to help you figure out what you want. He/she will ask questions that will (hopefully) guide you to the right decision for you. I think she makes an important point too, that if only one person is willing to make changes to keep the relationship going, then it probably won't work out very well for either person. Sounds like you had a wonderful day with the girls dancing etc!
Rebecca, so glad your dil is getting better. One less tube shouldn't make a huge difference in getting pregnant, obviously it can happen, so that's half the battle, IMO.
Heather, ugh, so sorry for your cystitis, battled that about a year ago, not fun at all! Also too bad about the whole house deal thing, but glad that you and hubby are continuing to purge and pack. That will make the move that much easier when it does happen (it will!)
Allie, Oh my! do take care!
Dana, love the gnome! Always brings a smile to my face when I see little things like that while out for a wander.
The weather seems to be finally changing to spring! It was warm yesterday and the forecast for the next week is mostly sunny! Now if the wind will stay away, it will be very lovely! Always seems to be the way here, on a day that would be nice without wind, it's howling right off the polar ice cap. In the summer when it's so hot and a cool wind would be welcome, there isn't a breath of air stirring.... annoying, but just have to be thankful for A/C (a new thing for us! sure enjoyed it last summer!) Only five more Saturdays til the wedding, getting a little excited, still have not heard anything from son about my idea for the inlaws. If I don't hear by tonight, I'll shoot him a text or email or something. Don't like phoning, he doesn't answer half the time anyway (he's like his father that way!). It's not that either of them ignore me, it's more that the phone is somewhere that they aren't so they don't hear it. I can't say too much, I'm not much better! lol
Work is starting to interrupt, so this is it for now! Welcome to the newbies, hugs for those needing them, congrats to those celebrating!
Evelyn, Vancouver Island, where it's warm today!!

I found the type of flower this is. Not sagebrush as I first thought.

Sorry about the size. Don’t know how to shrink them from the MFP app.3

Hello,
I would like to join this group! You seem very supportive of each other. I turn 60 in July. Last fall I started the ETL diet and MFP (again) and am about 40 lbs down. I still have 40 lbs to lose. I am celebrating 2018 turning 60 by doing a sprint triathlon in August. In two weeks I am doing a "Rookie" triathlon. Swim 400M, Bike 11 miles and run 2 miles. I swam all winter and walked dogs, plus I love bicycling. I can do all 3 but will probably walk or run/walk the run.
My DH also turns 60 this year and is in great shape. He is entered in a 1/2 Ironman this year. He is a big source of support and encouragement even though he loves his sugar snacks.10 -
Hi ladies!
Enjoyed reading about all whose mealtimes differing from their spouse's.
Barbara AHMOD - your DH eats super early to prevent GERD but I totally understand it. I finally got mine healed up well when I stopped eating at 4 pm.
Kylia - here's to a better week! And yes, where's the Joyce report?
Rebecca - sorry to hear about your DIL - thankfully, nature provided a spare tube. Redundancy!
Terry - love the colored beads in that bracelet. And like the idea of making them in school colors.
Evie and Barbie and Betsy - bet you are having a nice spring day up near the Strait. Yes, the wind is chilly but isn't that sunshine nice!
Got some weeding done this morning, and had planned to start dismanteling (and purging) kitchen cupboard shelves - the plastic shelf holder clips are brittle and dangerous (one broke on a heavy shelf last week...Luckily the other three are still holding!) So I ordered metal replacements from Amazon which were just delivered -I ordered the WRONG SIZE. 5mm is too small for the holes, should have ordered 1/4" I guess. So will stop at the dreaded Home Depot this week. Seems like they don't have any floor employees around, so hoping some local handyman is there who can help me, lol.
I finally was able to get onto MFP "help" and saw that a number of folks are having problems getting the website to load. They advised trying to load it in "InPrivate Browsing" - sure enough, I can access it to log food on this newer PC.
Someone mentioned just hitting maintenance on WW, can't remember who - wonderful new gal I think. Anyhow, I wanted to comment that I prefer using MFP to log since I can choose which things I want to track. I mainly track carbs, fiber, calcium, sugar, because that fits my eating plan. I try to keep carbs and sugar, of course, low and fiber and calcium high. This works for me.

Hi Sisters, welcome Bisky=I would love to do a triathalon but I am no good at swimming. Maybe one day I will get a kayak and do that sort. They call them Adventure Racing here, i think.
Well, the fambam and grandies have all gone home so it is quiet again and now I just have to catch up on the cleaning, do the sheets etc and put everything back in order. We all had lunch together at a special place called The Herb Farm, yesterday to celebrate our pay out. Yes, we have finally been paid for our shares in the business and have dropped our mortgage in half. The husband is enjoying his new life so much. His stress levels have immediately dropped. I am still at work for the next six weeks or 10 weeks, depending on whether it's the beginning of June or the end of June when I get to retire. The head office communication skills are totally lacking!
I've been speed reading through to catch up and I will just say a few of the things Ican remember: Kid Kirby, hugs to you, I hope you feel better soon. Rye, your hubby has the same Love Language as my husband when it comes to food. When he cooks for me, he is highly insulted if I don't eat lots and praise it lots. (He can't even remember to say thank you when I cook for him!) But over the years he has learned to cook things that I actually want to eat and I have learned to put my order in ahead of time and provide the right ingredients. He also makes a big mess in the kitchen which I have to clean up. LOL. For years now, he is the weekend cook and I cook during the week. But now that things have changed with our work, maybe he will take over the cooking more as he actually likes to cook. But that could be fattening for me!
Lanette, I'd love to hear about your friend beekeepers methods of making queens. I want to learn all sorts of ways so I can store in my mind a lot of tools to use in the future.
My Son in law has asked me to join him doing a half marathon on June 1st, so I have started training again. Did two short runs and one long run this past week. My long run was for an hour. Each week I will increase my long run by ten minutes. In between my runs I will do weights work outs. Today is a weights day so I better get started as I also have to go work at the office. Heaps more to say but will chat later,Wendy

Wendy, I have heard of triathlon relay teams - I wish I knew a biker and runner In real life to pair up with to be a team! If there were a MFP ladies team - I’d happily swim that part of a tri relay for you!

I guess the ovaries alternate making eggs so she could get pregnant every other month. My husband told me that. Go figure. I didn't know that!
I have planned my meals, and I get a salad for lunch, a cup of my pork fried rice for dinner, and for snacks I've picked some pumpkin seeds, and a container of yogurt. Yeah, I win! Sometimes figuring out everything feels like a game!
My husband's aunt is dealing with liver issues. She has heart problems so she can't get in the list though. She went into an ammonia coma recently, (something I'm all too familiar with), but no one found her for a bit. I guess it's now affected her brain. So sad. The women on my husband's side are all very stubborn, not wishing help, or wanting anyone to live with them. My MIL and this aunt (sisters) used to share an apartment, but this aunt asked for money all the time to buy food to feed her ( grandkids). They weren't really her grandkids, but her nephews kids. So consequently my MIL had a hard time having funds to feed herself! So they split up, and now MIL is living in the basement (like a small apartment with kitchenette), with her granddaughters family. I hope this aunt pulls thru though!
Had a nice chat with my DDIL yesterday. We talked about her letting my son spoil her, and being impatient waiting for other's regarding help. We texted about favorite cookies and such. Maybe she is getting more comfortable around me. I think her family is a bit guarded, and we are all, hugging and saying we love each other! Get used to it Missy! Haahaa!
Everyone have a nice Sunday!!
Love ya!
