Did 5 min of hula hoop, held my plank for 3 min, then took the extremepump class. After exercise I need to count the money at the church. This is the last time this month until next month. Then we go to bowling early since we get our teams for the summer and then there’s free bowling.
Kim – I never had a baby shower.
Dana – when you had that sandwich, did they put the coleslaw on the sandwich? Do you know that I’ve never seen coleslaw on a sandwich until I moved down here?
Wendy – Horses can help children with Asperger’s so much. Very proud of you for helping that girl as much as you are
Okie – oh to have your problem of hurting when sitting! I always hurt when I have to lay on my side and lift both legs.
Pat – I wish our insurance would pay for 3D mammo. I have very dense breasts and this would be so good for me to have
Do you mean to tell me that that WASN’T Joaquin’s mom in that picture????
Rye – yes, there are things that I don’t tell Vince. Like recently I was stopped by the police for not coming to a full stop at a light. Didn’t get a ticket so I figured it wasn’t worth telling him about because if I did I’d get “the look”. And I’m certainly not going to tell him that I almost forgot to go to Publix tonight and got lost trying to get there. Especially after I made a point of him not going and me going
Heather – happy anniversary!
Exercised, counted money at the church, then went to bowling and got our teams for the summer, ceramics then mahjongg. I needed to stop at Publix. Vince got Loki’s med before ceramics
Kay in TX – welcome. I’m ever so sorry about your grandson. Come here often
Beth – wonderful NSV. Doesn’t it feel good to realize things like that? Loved that pic

Kay from Texas - Sorry for your loss. We lost a granddaughter due to an accident involving her as a pedestrian, sun in the eyes of a teen a bit high on something, crossing the 4-lane road (in Marietta, GA) and I know the pain. But, I think the hardest loss was losing the daughter, who for whatever reason turned her back on us shortly after her daughter was killed. That's been 11 years ago, and one child - who we have not had any contact with since she was one-years-old.
Machkla - Good news that you husband did recognize you are his wife. That's a great start.
Met my friends for lunch today. Learned from the mother-in-law of the young woman who had a Hydatidiformole pregnancy that she sleeps 'all the time' and is convinced that the cancer has returned. I got the impression that if it has come back, she just doesn't have the 'fight' in her.
Talking about some of our other classmates, found out that one (oldest of 5 girls) and her family had a huge falling out of 'how she supposedly was treating her Mother). When she retired, they sold everything they had and moved to France. Leaving a child (maybe 2) behind and has nothing to do with them. They have always seemed a little strange
Put a set of rings on day-before-yesterday (huge mistake). Little tight going over knuckle; but, fit at the base of my finger. I had my wedding band sized up to go over my knuckle and the they put a half-ring in it to fit the smaller part so it doesn't turn. I've tried every trick in the book and nothing helps. I will probably need to be 'cut off', I don't see anything helping but it just bothers me because I know that I can't get them off.
Nothing to report, Cracker was so happy to see us getting home today. Tux snuck in the house when Louis left the door open.

Meeting couple of friends for lunch today, not worrying about calories, will get back on track tomorrow. Finished 4 week KB workout but will probably repeat week 4 until I go on holiday.
Received an appointment to go for a mammogram, it was scheduled for the day I leave on holiday so rang and rearranged. Here in UK regular screening stops at 70 (although you can request one) but they running a trial to include some under 50s and over 70s. Hate mammograms but have to take advantage of the offer.
Thanks for new thread BARBIE

I had a jolt yesterday. I called an old friend from high school to see whether we could meet for lunch this coming week. Her husband answered and said she is in a nursing home! This is due to health complications that accompany extreme overweight.
He did agree to meet for lunch, and said he'd go and pick her up from her care facility for the occasion. I hope that she is able to come for the lunch.

Grrr. I moved my fingers wrong around the trackpad and lost my post!!!! It was a long one too, so good news for you, you don't have to read it!

Happy May Ladies! Barbie, thank you so much for keeping us going each month. We appreciate you!
April Goals were met. For May, my goal is to learn how to play the mental game called maintenance. It is so much harder than losing! I know I have been at my weight loss calories for the last 2 weeks and I have gained a lb. Is it fat, no. Does it put me out of my maintenance range, no. Does it mess with my mind and make me think that I am forever doomed to eat bird level calories to not regain weight, most assuredly yes. Of course, I will also strive to close all the rings on my watch each day.
Okie in the TX Hill Country who needs to get her miles in so she can get to work and will try again later with her detailed responses to peoples posts.10 -

Kate - we've watched Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries! Very good! I see Netflix has Marcella and will add it to the list- I may have to buy into the PBS Masterpiece channel to get Unforgotten.
I really enjoyed The Good Karma Hospital. I think I enjoy the scenery as much as the plot in these series from the UK, Australia & Canada ;-). And now India (Sri Lanka).
Katla - what a sad thing for your friend. Hearing about folks "our" age with these types of health problems strengthens my resolve to keep at it when it's tempting to not get out there and walk and do strength training, eat junk food and let myself go. Hope you can get the lunch arranged OK.
May goals - keep doing what I'm doing plus get back to the 12/3 Intermittent Fasting and leaving sugary snacks alone after supper. I need to increase my sleep (plan is to get new mattress next week) and going to sleep is easier when my tummy doesn't have food in it.
Barbie and gals -- Happy MayDay!This community has helped me so much! Thank you, thank you.

Happy Tuesday! Happy May 1st! Thanks Barbie for taking us to a new month together! Well my goals will be the same as the previous month. Log, log, log, stick to my meal plan, walk more, and hopefully less of me by the end of the month. I lost a pound in the month of April (well it was lose some gain some; but a pound by the end of the month). Kind of disappointed in myself, but I will take the pound loss. Resilience is my word for 2018
Thanks all for the compliments on Joaquin and my family!
Carol-My daughter, Lauren, is doing some post graduate research on translating some work of Emilie du Chatelet, a 16th century french philosopher. She began work on it as a Masters student, was able to make a couple of trips to Paris to look at the original manuscript. She was in Paris, and staying a couple of blocks from the "hostage" situations during the Charlie Hedbo attacks. (That was nervewracking). Now, as a post grad, she is receiving payment for her work. It makes a nice second income for her. Lauren is happy to still be "wanted" on this work. She is very passionate about this woman and her life's work. Per the norm for the era; much of her work was ignored due to the fact that she was a woman. Her lifestyle was questioned (single and had many male relationships). Even though many of her theories on physics were proven later, she never received any recognition for her work. Anyway, I am very proud of Lauren for helping to bring the accomplishments of this strong woman to light.
Beth- I am right there with you in the battle over my body! My hubby does the same thing to me; buying me "treats" because he feels bad that I work so hard. Not helping, thank you! I loved your meme!
Rori- I loved the pics of your trip! I would be in that open car during the entire ride! nature is so amazing!
Kay from Texas- Sorry to hear about your grandson! Sending you much love and strength! We are here for you! Jump in whenever you feel inclined. Remember to bookmark the page so that you can find it easier.
Katla- So sorry to hear about your friend! But how wonderful that her hubby offered to get her so that she can get together with you! So important when people become isolated like that.
British Accent- While I sit here and giggle over Heather's annoyance that we keep referring to "a British accent", maybe we need to clarify? Saying that someone has a British accent would be like saying someone has an American accent or a Canadian accent. You can't have an accent of a whole country/continent! In America we have accents according to what region we live in. Even the "southern" accent is divided into regions and are very different from region to region. Shoot, we even have different words for the same thing depending on where we live.
Wendy- Love the smile on the young lady that you ride with! The horse looks like she is playing in the water!
Machka-Really, so happy to read of your DH's progress! Yea!!!
time for kids to arrive! Oh! It is 60* already this morning! YAHOO!! We are supposed to hit mid 70s to 80 by this afternoon! I am thrilled! ttfn xoxoxo KJ

HAPPY MAY DAY! :flowerforyou:4

Happy May Day.
My goals are to keep on keeping on.Just losing a pd now & then keeps me off the heavy diet track.Been there, not for me.
“Heather and Trish – do you know that the MD one time prescribed for me an antibiotic whose one side effect is diarrhea which can last for months after you stop the antibiotic? I had what looked like cellulitis in my leg. It’s fine now, but I couldn’t believe she’d prescribe something with a side effect like that! Not when there are other antibiotics that do the same thing without that side effect.”
Michele in NC..
After a few Dr & hospital visits,I would pretty much believe anything!
My anti biotic from H ...was Flagyl.Made me sicker, longer than what it was to “fix me right up”.
Wonder if any Dr has ever taken that stuff ?
Machka.....that is great news! Thank you for sharing.
Kay in Tx...welcome & so very sorry about your Grson .
Joachin is such a happy looking child.Enjoy!
Meg,things happen in our life with no rhythm or reason.
Nothing said or done makes a difference.I learned (or maybe it was born in me?)not to allow such dreck to affect me.Ppl can treat me as they choose, but my defense is to walk away & stay away. Harsh maybe, but works for me.
Bought some new linens,2 summer blankets,
sheets for extra bed & pillowcases for both.Love Target sheets.
Making bean salad today. Keeps in fridge & so tasty.
House is clean & laundry done. Gonna be sunny 70’s today.
Lunch on our back porch & watch the world go by.Along with a good book,a perfect day.
