Hi friends. Well it looks like stormy weather in on our agenda again for today. I hope the College World Series isn’t postponed! I have electricians coming over to fix a couple of ceiling fan remotes soon. My A1C yesterday was 6.3 (down from 7) and my blood pressure was 112/60. I’m starting my Wellbutrin today. UGH. Sick of taking meds. I take more than the national average for “elderly, sick” people.

Tasteofheaven: Yes! Welcome! What can we call you?

Lanette: birds? Oh my. No can do! Maybe birds made from quinoa!

    Pip: I agree with Dr.Katie

Barbara and Lanette: I haven’t read that book, but my vet recommended cannabis for Benny Beagle. Apparently it works!

    Margaret: lovely pics

Mary: glad DD and DIL are doing better!

Barbie: I’m sure the babies were glad to see you

Michelle: after my June off work, I wonder how I managed to work the rest of the year!

Suebdew: just jump right back in. Preparing for your trip will all get done.

Karen: Glad you had luck with the thunder shirts. I haven’t had luck on 2 dogs with them. But at least the vet will take them back.

KJ: looks like a fun bunch of boys!

Teresa: hi and glad you joined us.

Heather: hooray on the house! Congratulations!

Kylia: you were productive for sure!

Katla: it’s great that you are getting to the end of a big project. That always feels good. I think. I don’t remember :O

Dana: Go OMAHOGS! Omaha has adopted them. That was quite a game last night. One year I will actually venture downtown to see them. It’s really stormy looking right now so I hope the game isn’t postponed.

Mary: yes, will add your DD to our prayer chain. Is it time for a second opinion?

OK it’s beginning to thunder, so the computer is going off now. Enjoy the day. Take care, Meg from soggy Omaha

Hi Sisters, it's 4am here but I am wide awake. Not sure why, but taking the extra time as a bonus! I am heading down to my daughter's house after I feed the animals to stay with them this weekend and run the half-marathon with my son in law. He is only running the 10K as he had an injury and didn't get as much training time as he'd hoped for.

So, the first thing I did on my retirement was go to the doctor for hormone testing. I asked for a saliva test to measure my estrogen and progesterone levels and he refused to do it, saying it wouldn't tell us anything. I argued but he wasn't listening! (Not my regular doctor, a young male) He insisted that a blood test would tell us more, so I agreed to do that because I wanted a blood test anyway to check my testosterone levels. I had to argue for that as well, but I won that arguement. I got the testosterone result yesterday and I'm not really sure what it means. My free testosterone is 7 pmol/l but my SHBG was in the high range at 162 nmol/l. Normal range is supposed to be 20 to 90. This is a hormone that binds with testosterone and other hormones and makes them unavailable in the body, according to Dr. Google. It said on the lab results that a high SHBG can be due to pregnancy, or birth control pills or HRT, none of which apply to me.

I haven't heard from my doctor at all. I got the results directly from the lab as I gave them my email address and signed up for My Health. So now I am wondering 1. Why is SHBG so high? 2. How do I lower it? 3. Am I low in progesterone? 4. Am I estrogen dominant? 5. Do I need supplemental testosterone?

I have emailed another health place that a friend recommended that is out of town and have asked if they will do a saliva test for me and interpret my blood test results as well. Hopefully they will be more helpful than the doctor I saw here.

If anybody has had a similar result, please let me know what treatment you did? Thanks, <3 Wendy

So eldest son had night check work from 3 pm Tuesday to 8am Wednesday! Then he slept from probably 9:30 am yesterday to 4pm. Up taking a shower, had dinner with us and got in uniform to ride on base at 7:30pm. Worked from last night until I heard the garage door open at 3am. He's such a hard worker! His job is an aviations technician. His hands are always greasy, and he has wounds here and there, arms, legs, face, from working on jets. He probably doesn't notice half of them! I'm going to buy some heavy duty hand soap for his bathroom, and for the "mudroom" bathroom. I
I told husband its hard worrying about son's again. I mean when we were empty nesters it was easier to text them now and again, and things were alright. Now when he isn't home I worry, like any Mom would. Husband said, "Just stop, he's an adult (almost 30 yrs old)" . Yeah, like I can just turn that off and on! He does have a light on his bike but its riding at 3 in the morning that worries me!I

Pop congrats for the mega high continuous postings!!! You definitely have this logging engrained into your life! Its such an inspiration!

Well my breakfast this morning. What did y'all have?
    Blessings for the day!

Lanette Starting dose: 0.05mg/kg/day. I currently use 1 drop a day of the 250mg/30mL product for my 7lb Yorkie which comes out to about 0.13mg/kg/day. It's a low dose. I would not hesitate to increase the dose if I thought it would help him. I would start low and increase until you see improvement. The 30mL bottle has about 600 drops in it. At about $25 for this bottle, that's about 5 cents a drop. I use Bluebird Botanicals. It is a hemp CBD, no THC.

Mary Are any of the doctors interventional radiologists? They specialize in procedures (like abscess drainage) where an operation is contraindicated. She might not be a candidate for such a procedure, but it would be nice to know the other doctors had at least considered that option. There would still be some risk of sepsis.

Heather That's a lovely place. Fingers crossed.

Kelly Kids are adorable in their tye-dye shirts.

Heather- WOW! That was fast! lol The house looks great and close to everything (just like you wanted). Is this the house that needs some work? Sending good vibes that the "chain" doesn't break and everything works out!
Mary- Sending you prayers/ thoughts of peace, skilled and wise doctors, and strength. *sigh* so hard when it is your own adult child. <3

Karen - many thanks! Dosing at a drop or two at a time isn't bad, our old dog is 16#. I read where people were having problems with syringes and their dogs gagging. That's more than I'd want to deal with, but a drop or two on her food or a treat sounds perfect.

$.05 per drop sounds doable! B)

    Mary sending strength and <3<3

Heather I've got my fingers and toes crossed for the house.

Got in lots of activity today, exercised and walked quite a bit, not eating as much either, so I am feeling lighter, sometimes when it gets this hot in the summer, I have to force myself to eat, I just don't have an appetite when it is extremely humid.

    Take care everyone. NYKAREN

Lisa, how wonderful that your son feels the need to pay everyone back! Very mature of him, you have every right to be proud of him. Happy anniversary! Hope you get Eggs funkiness under control..... yuck.
Machka thank you so much for sharing your story. Still keeping you both in my thoughts.
Terry! How wonderful to hear from you! Sincerest wishes for a successful surgery and speedy healing. Hope hubby gets better also.
Pip, sorry to hear about the micromanagement issues, your boss must be feeling insecure in his/her job if s/he has to watch over everyone. Hugs to you, not fun for sure.
Still trying to get caught up with everything here, just need to make a comment every now and then.
Welcome to the newbies, congrats to those celebrating, and hugs for those who need them.

We had a power failure last night and the battery backup on our clock didn’t work so I got up late. Actually, I got up about the right time but figured I’d go back to bed and the alarm would wake me up. Only it didn’t. So I changed to doing an extreme strength training DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to take the water class. My UPS was fried, not sure if it was because of the power outage or what. Fortunately, Vince had another one so I’m up and running. But I did lose internet connection

After class I’m going to go and see about getting rye bread for Vince and then to WalMart to get items so I can cook Saturday.

Katla – I hope your dog has an enjoyable fourth of July

Teresa – welcome! Come back soon and tell us more about yourself.

Heather – congrats on the house!

I got this bubba mug and evidentally the person before me had coffee in it. I don’t like coffee. It’s probably been about 1-1/2 years since I had even a taste of it. I just don’t care for it. But even when I did have some, it tasted too bitter to me. I had it at a Marriott hotel so I’m sure they don’t have poor quality coffee. Anyway, since Monday (or maybe it was Tuesday), I’ve had the mug filled with water and I put peppermint oil in it. I thought I’d taken care of the problem because last week at bowling I put a peppermint starlight (hard mint) in my water at bowling. But this week I could taste the coffee again. Fortunately, we don’t have bowling Monday because of the 4th, so hopefully, this will take care of it. Anyone else have any suggestions as to how to get rid of that nasty coffee taste?

Dana – have fun at the campground!

Mary – I am so sorry for you and your daughter. I’m really surprised that they aren’t moving quicker to get this taken care of. Vince had a bowel obstruction a while ago and he was in lots of pain

Rebecca – I’ll tell you my breakfast if you promise not to laugh. Mixed vegetables, Tone It Up protein, applesauce and blueberries. Stop chuckling under your breath….lol

    Kate UK – lovely skirt

Went in the pool (natch), changed the pool filters, now Rover is running, put air in my float, got things ready to take to the Salvation Army tomorrow

Janetr – you look great. HB to Jack

Need to color my roots and take a shower.

:)MIchele, unless the mug is the only mug you own and you have no money to buy a new one, just throw it away.
