    As for the mini challenge:

6/28: Breakfast and lunch both under 500, only walked about 5000 steps though

I definitely got my steps/exercise in today. I pushed mowed my yard, electric motor. It was HOT. I went over on sodium. But under my calories. Yay!

    that's great!

tracking what i eat is one of the things that has helped me the most because I have been able to identify were I can cut off extra calories, don't give up we can do this

Yes I am finding that this is making the biggest difference in my motivation this time vs all the other times. Before, if I had had a bad day, I would just say oh whatever, I failed today so lets just restart on Monday, and then would ruin the rest of the week. Now, however, I am facing my mistake, telling myself it was just one day or one meal and I am moving on and getting back on track immediately. I really want to be successful this time, and I think I may have finally cracked the nut on how to do that. I guess only time will tell though whether this really is my holy grail of weight loss.

Yesterday was not bad. I am finding it hard to meet my calories while staying within my macros. I tend to only eat about 800-1000 calories at the moment. I figure this is ok as long as my energy stays up and my body isn't yelling at me. I am not purposely trying to eat this little, I am just finding that eating healthy, whole foods fills me up and keeps me from being hungry very often. Also, the temperature here is hovering around 115 degrees, making it very hard to want to eat anything that is very calorie dense in the first place.
