New month, new challenge!
Our challenge is to do 10,000 steps in a day. You can do this for any one day or try for the entire month. Jump right in at any time! You can set a lower or higher goal if you wish. Our main goal is to keep activate every day!
It's easy to join - Just post here to begin! You can also jump in anytime during the month, too.
You will need a step counter to keep track of your steps and then post your results daily here.

Daily Goal: 10,000
July 1: 13,369
I was happy with myself last night!! I only have about 8,000 steps and really wanted to hit my goal of 10,000. I put on a good movie and walked through the whole thing. I told myself I could only watch TV if i was walking. it was great to realize at the end of the movie to realize how far past the goal I had gone!3 -
July Step Challenge ~ Target 10k (min) 13.5k (avg) a day for a monthly target of 400,000 plus steps.
1-Jul 5,250
Day one failure was due to a road trip. I plan to get back on target with 15k steps over the next few days.
I'm also adding a "service level agreement" (SLA) to the challenge for myself. Anyone can add this to theirs if they'ed like. The SLA, is I must meet my daily minimum at 93%. I set it there as that gives me two days to miss the min target. The Monthly 400K target has to be met with no less than 100% success.
Failure to meet SLA will mean NO snacks period for one week for each incident of failure past the 93% SLA. I.e if I fail to meet the minimum of 10K for four days, then no snacking for the next two weeks. 4 days minus the allowed two = 2 days.
I'm going to add no alcohol to that punishment.
FYI, my snacking is almost always within my calorie allowance. My drinking is usually only on the weekend and is on my off day. Some of y'all may call it a cheat day, I just prefer off day.
Anyway, good luck y'all. And lets get to stepping!

I'm in! Although my fitbit isn't water-proof so I can't count my steps when at the pool and I have a couple water park trips planned this month

Walking-while-watching has always worked well for me too. I did the same thing both yesterday and today while racking up extra mileage.
It's also handy for getting to watch that can't-miss-episode of your favorite show while still virtuously NOT neglecting to get in all your steps for the day .3 -
