•7/27 - 189.2 - Early weigh in. This end of round drop and beginning round overnight gain of ONE pound seems to be my trend. I'm officially in the overweight BMI category. Kind of a weird eating day for me yesterday. Went to help my niece again, but was rushed, so I threw some random food items into my lunchbag. 7/27: 324.2 Off to a good start. Need to get back to drinking more water. I haven’t been doing that the last two days. The one thing I have found out that is working is I don’t snack after dinner anymore. I used to always get a late night snack before bed, but now I have nothing or if I do it’s a hot cup of tea. No food though. I think that helped with the high loss last round. Need to keep that trend going.
7/28: 322.2 Well, this is a total shock. I didn't track my food at all yesterday. May have injured my left Achilles the other day at the gym, so I was unable to workout yesterday. Hurt to walk. Hoping it's not serious. Anyway, not being able to workout put me in a funk all day. Grabbed Wendy's for lunch--though I did get grilled chicken sandwich. Had a healthier dinner and stuck to not having any snacks before bed so that may have helped. Going to rest this weekend then start back at the gym Monday if feeling better.
7/29: 321.2 I had a good Saturday. I met friends for breakfast out, but made smart choices. I avoided the hash browns and ate tomatoes instead. (Wasn’t as hard to give it up as I thought considering I LOVE starchy foods). Lunch went well with fruits, cream cheese & bagel chips, and avocado. Even though my foot was still hurting, I was able to get my walk in. Skipped the gym and went shopping instead. Have to love retail therapy! Finished the evening off with a greek salad and cup of soup while having an outdoor movie night. Then a hot cup of tea when I got home. Still need to work on getting my water in. Haven’t been meeting my goal on that lately. Going to try harder next week on that. The no snacking after dinner is doing wonders though. The late night cup of tea instead of binging on carbs/junk food has made all the difference in the world. All in all, not a bad weekend so far.

7/19: 327.6 Well, I never expected that to happen. Incredibly surprised! Did well on my breakfast and lunch,
dinner not so much. I was so mentally and physically tired that I stopped at Wendy's on the way
home. Knew it was the wrong thing to do. I do this all the time--too tired to fix a meal so I stop for
fast food. This is where my trouble always starts. So, now that I have identified my major problem, I
have to work on the solution. After some research last night, I think meal prep on the weekend for the work
week will do wonders for me. I don't have to worry about "what to do" for dinner after a stressful day
at work. I can just come home and pop it in the oven/microwave and there I go! I will say the one
thing that is working for me is drinking water. It has gotten a lot easier to drink so much of it as
long as I put some limes in it.
7/20: 327.6 Well, no loss but I’ll take it. Did have pasta for dinner and I love my pasta! Need to work on portion size though.
7/21: 327.8 Pasta again. Love my pasta, but need to be more disciplined when it comes to portion size.
7/22: 326.8 Did really well today. Made good food choices. Need to keep with this trend.
7/23: 326.8 I’m happy about this weigh-in. Good weekend—went out with friends to a “Mary Poppins” themed tea party and then out to eat with family. Made smart choices, so I’m satisfied. Starting exercise today. See how that plays into the next weigh-in.
7/24: 326.8 First time back at the gym went pretty well. Went slow so I wouldn’t risk injury by doing too much too fast. Felt good afterwards. Then towards evening it hit me. My body screaming at me, “WHAT DID YOU DO?!!” 🤣😂 The soreness has eased up this morning. Just have to remember that it will get better. The more exercise I do, the better I’ll feel.
7/25: 325.6 Nice to see some moment after three days sitting at the same weight. I’m actually looking forward to seeing the final numbers at the end of this challenge. It’s my first time doing this and I have to say having the support of this community along with keeping myself honest with check-ins and food tracking has helped a great deal.
7/26: 324.6 This has been a great experience. I’ve never been excited about getting healthy before. I’d always start off great then just give up if I had a rough couple of days. The difference this time has been this community. The encouragement and support has made all the difference in the world. Reading about your journeys has made me realize there is no quick fix. This isn’t just another diet. This is a lifestyle change. I am becoming the person I was meant to be. Yes, there will be bad days. That’s just life. I need to acknowledge that then let it go and start anew the very next day with a clean slate instead of bogged down in quilt. I want to thank everyone here for their support. This round starting weight was 333.0 and as of this morning I am at 324.6. I hit my goal and then some. I looking forward to the next round!9 -

7/28 135.0 @0500 I have been craving burnt ends from a local BBQ place. I forgot to tell them no sauce. I think this has dropped me out of nutritional ketosis. Color me sad. Why would you slather sauce on meat that has been dry rubbed and smoked and tasted awesome? The sauce is awful!
7/29 134.5 Ate well yesterday but wanted “something.” I haven’t had one of those days since I started keto over a year ago. Finally got a fat bomb out of the freezer and all was well. I’m curious about where everyone is and what your high temperatures are. I live in the desert SW of the US - Las Vegas, and the temperature this morning at 5:30AM was 91*F with anticipated high of 109 today. Color me curious.7 -

Hubby's bd yesterday, but I ate a lovely, healthy lunch out - grilled shrimp, salad, broccoli, one spoonful of his dessert. Yesterday evening I went for a 4-mile walk along the Maumee River on the beautiful Rivergreenway.

Splurged a little last night on ice cream and crackers (not together!) and my sodium was a little higher than usual, so no surprise. Pants I haven't worn in a while feel looser, so there's that! I've been having a lot of lower back and hip pain and blood work shows significant inflammation, so in addition to seeing a chiropractor I'm going to start an anti-inflammation cleanse in a few days. Happily, it's not very different from how I typically eat - the main things I'll have to give up are coffee (no biggee if I have my herbal teas) and chicken, which we eat fairly often. Anyway, I'm not doing it for weight loss, but will be interested to know whether it makes a difference (heavy on veggies, whole grains/no bread or grain-based pasta, and healthy fats). It's the Journey Alive 8-week cleanse program by Coralie Murphy, which is science-based and not extreme. Has anyone here done it?

@quiltingjaine I live in the Ohio Valley (Louisville, KY) where you can have all 4 seasons in one day! Yep, no joke. I've seen it happen. This was the first break we've had from the heat and humidity recently. It's usually high 90s with the humidity making it unbearable. This weekend we are hovering around mid to high 80s and the humidity not so bad. Makes it a lot easier to breathe outside hence my outdoor movie night yesterday!quiltingjaine wrote: »

7/27: 165.0/Had to work today, so got up super early to get in a run and exercise. Looking forward to starting vacation tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how my runs go as I am going from super flat terrian to hilly terrian, in the final week of C25k training, ehhhhh. I plan on trying to stay within my calorie allowance, but things happen.
7/28 165.2/Leaving for vacation today. Would like to see this number down not up, hoping to maintain. Going to try and log in with weights depending on scale access, but might be done for rest of this round.
7/29: 164.6/Went over calories yesterday, all day driving to start vacation. It is amazing how EASY it is to stack up those calories in one fast food meal. If anything recording calories really opens your eyes to how many calories can be in one meal, even when your trying to be good. Went for a run this morning, I am on week 8 of c25k and supposed to run 2.75 miles. I am in hill county now, so had to walk about 1/4 of that, but I did it!9 -

7/27 - 158.5 - I was going to gripe about being this weight for almost 8 days straight, especially since I've stayed real close to my weight loss calories. Then I realized because of our out of town visitors, I've had food that is higher in sodium, I haven't been walking as much, and water has not been my drink of choice. We've got one last barbecue planned for this weekend and then they'll leave on Sunday. I need to enjoy this weekend and not worry about what the scale says. Last week, before they came, I was hoping to maintain and I need to be happy that I did.
7/28 - 159.5
7/29 - 161 - Well, 158.5 looks pretty good right now! I had a little of everything at our picnic yesterday and several drinks, so this is no surprise. I have figured out that exactly 11 years ago I had dieted to 157 lbs. I hit a plateau and stopped counting calories and tracking my weight. This time will be different. I don't regret the overindulgence yesterday, since this time I'm not going to let it derail me. (And we had so much fun!)

@quiltingjaine high of 28 C or 83 F here on the west coast of Canada. They have a heat warning for us hahaha. It is not considered hot for almost anywhere else but for our island it is. I love it!4

7/28 - 253.2 ate popcorn at the movies yesterday, then a late dinner. Too much sodium! Chug water.
7/29 - 254.4 didn’t eat well yesterday, too many carbs, also helped son move out of his apartment so when muscles hurt, I hold on to fluids. Water and get some vegetables in today.
