Snowflake Tracey, (I love calling you Snowflake) in fact, I am going to add that to my list of possible foal names, thanks-I consider myself a life-long learner and am happy to share what I learn on my journey. My horses have been incredible teachers to me of many things, patience, courage, and how foods and supplements affect behaviour and nerves etc. It gradually dawned on me, over many years, that I was paying more attention to what I fed my horses than to what I fed my own body, so I started taking as good care of myself. LOL
Machka, thanks for the link. I will enjoy the graduation ceremony and celebrate long distance with you.
Well, it is a Super Good Day here. The sun is shining and I am taking Mani and Lady to the beach with my student at lunchtime. Gotta go get all the animals fed and chores done first. Wendy
That would be awesome, I have two nieces that share my middle name. I was thinking about my screen name the other night and wondering if people have thought about the negative connotation that it has now. I started using this screen name when I first got online. I love snowflake ornaments but mostly it was because of a quote It goes something like this: "A snowflake is fragile and delicate but just look what they can do when they are together". I used to have it on my fridge as a magnet.6 -
Heather: It sounds as though you are very close to moving. I hope the change is joyous and you are both happy in your new home. :flowerforyou:
Barbie: I've heard your mother's quote before, "Genius is 1 % inspiration and 99 % perspiration." I think her idea is both insightful and correct. The zucchini looks yummy.

We went to VW today and picked up DH's car. He is pleased with his car and we're a two car family once again, and done with the VW dealership for a good long while, I hope. They treated us well and gave us good service. Yay!!!

Katla, congrats on the successful resolution of your VW challenges.
I walked the dogs a bit more today which was a good thing because Jake is so exhausted from his treatment yesterday that he needed more time to sit, sleep, and rest.
Allie, sending hugs to you. Be sure to get as much rest and water and nourishing food as you can.4 -
wildhorsewendy wrote: »Janet, your granddaughter is a model and your artwork is fantastic. How are the sales going in that shop? I bet they are selling like hotcakes.
Thank you, Wendy. I told my granddaughter the same thin, that she looked like a model.
Thanks on the ornament too. All these I'm making now were my favorites from last year that I gave away or sold so now I'm making a few for myself. I've not kept any for myself before. The sales at the store have not happened, don't know if it's the wrong time of year or???????I

Thank you Carole. Most of the ornaments I've pictured here this year are for myself, I've not kept any before for myself. The red, however, is for my sister. I had shown her several pictures of examples I found online that I wanted to try, she asked me to make this one for her. However, I will be selling more online again soon.

Barbie: I hope Jake's treatments are successful, and the two of you are able to return to the things you both enjoy.
We are getting ready for our son and his family to come for a visit. We've been doing our best to baby-proof things, and are making some progress. It has been a long while since we had a baby in the house. I'm not sure that we've done enough, but I'm confident that we can start where we are and get advice from our son and DDIL to catch any hazards we've missed. They'll be here in about 10 days, if all goes according to plan.

Did Weight Watchers Boot Camp DVD today. The plan for tomorrow is to do gilad’s 45/45 split DVD
JoGardener – welcome! I’m so very sorry for all you’ve been thru
Janetr – your granddaughter is beautiful. I especially love her eyes. And that ornament!!!
M – I remember a lady who used to be in our bowling league used to bring in a cake for her birthday. She said it was a German tradition
KJ – thanks for doing the math. Are you sure of the math? I always thought they were AHEAD of us in the eastern time zone. Stick to your guns. “Healthy” or “organic” are just words, best to read the ingredients.
Carol – the “white coat ceremony” is where Jessica gets her lab coat. This marks the beginning of her vet career. Vet school lasts about 2 years in St. Kitts, then she comes back to the states to do her residency. Now, she did have to take a few courses before the start of the official vet school mainly because she’s been out of college for so long. She said that most people were there for career changes, etc. About 80% of the students are from the US, the remainder are Canadian…lol Have a good time tonight
Renewnancy – welcome
NYKaren – safe travels
Update on my car: they are having trouble getting a new TCM, but I do have a loaner – a Mazda 6. I’m trying to learn where everything is. It’s amazing how used to my own car I am.
We put my flamingoes up. When Jess gets here and I get back on my desktop, I’ll post a pic of them. Vince made the “legs”. Then vacuumed out the spa. Oh, I tell you, life is so tough when you just HAVE to go in the spa to clean it.

I don't even notice the accent anymore. Evidently my accent comes across as Irish most of the time.
And most of my classmates are Asian. Some of them will use an English name too but that is becoming less common.KetoneKaren wrote: »Machka is between 48:00 and 49:00.

What a wonderful day. I'm extremely proud of Lady. She was such a lady today on her first ride on the beach. It was also her first ride off the leadline. She was very well-behaved and brave. She also loaded on the float without any hesitation. Just walked straight on and stood still while I did the back ramp up. It was a jewel of a day in every way.

Yesterday was frustrating, hours on the phone with only one good result (Joe's phone number change.) It turns out he can't access his voicemail from our house because the agreement between Consumer Cellular's carrier TMobile and the "3rd party" tower provider offers incoming and outgoing phone calls but not voicemail. Really? Have to test this theory by going down a half mile to the end of our lane trying from there. Next week I'll be driving with expired Oregon trip permit. June 21st mailed forms and check to lien holder, who acknowledged receipt June 28 but (possibly due delay from Id DMV) didn't send forms forms and checks to ODOT via "2nd day UPS" until July 13. UPS delivered 9:28 am July 17. Oregon DOT will not be able to confirm receipt until likely Friday Aug 17 as their data entry is that far backlogged. Soon as they confirm they'll "send" a 45 or 90 day trip permit to my local DMV to cover me til plates and tags arrive. Just hope their computer can't email OHP to pick me up on expired trip permit Monday. I REALLY don't want to drive either of Joe's vans.
Lisa 3 lbs Yay!
KJ you're right, tomato soup IS best with grilled cheese. You, Heather, Margaret and all are also right. "Healthy" on a label is totally meaningless, just marketing. "Organic" has to meet certain requirements to be so certified, but as Margaret pointed out organic sweets and snacks are still sweets and snacks. "Natural" like "Healthy" is in the "New and Improved super whiz bang" realm of marketing b.s.
Penny breathtaking rainbow
Michele your putting tomato out of its misery followed by "...the way the pickle squirts" cracked me up!
Katla how long will you hou have son and grandson visiting?
Lanette "funny I don't have that same reaction when looking at photos of relatives..." LOL indeed In our house before this, there was a half bath off the laundrry next to the door to the garage and near the door to the side yard. One of my friends named it the "dump and dash". It got LOTS of use even without Beth's night light show.
JanetR she's a beauty! That apple didn't fall far...
Karen in VA processed foods, right on point. Some go so far as to consider any kind of cooking to be processing, so eat only raw foods. Not ME! While I prefer fresh veggies to frozen or canned, I'll happily use frozen instead of none. DH eats LOTS of canned foods, which worries me about the salt, but at least now he's eating more beans, veggies and fruits. Thankful for that!
Rebecca Only you would think to ask the deer to gently deadhead your roses... and they would!
NYKaren safe travels!
Allie (((big hug)))
Wendy Lady "loaded on the float without any hesitation..." What a far way you've brought her, what a lucky Lady!
Machka con VERY gratulations! W0W.

I saw you Machka! :drinker: Well done!
Went out running at 5.55. It was FREEZING! The weather has really turned here. I listened to my BBC Soul Music podcasts, Mr Blue Sky, and The Lord is My Shepherd. Both if them made me cry. In a good way. Marvellous.
Our cruise company have sent us membership of their Britannia Club (a marketing ploy) because we have done over 34 nights on board. (44) We get a free bottle of champagne in the cabin and an extra cocktail party with the captain. Plus posh leather luggage labels. It's quite stupid and silly, but I was quite pleased.
We are Bronze. To get Diamond you have to do over 1,000 nights. :noway:
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxx6 -

Barbara You are so amusing describing these frustrations but they must be trying. Good going, I tend to lose my sense of humor in the face of frustrations unless I am mindful - I admire your spirit. And I wish the frustrations away for you!
Heather I won’t go into my long and meaningful (to me) relationship with the wonderful song Mr. Blue Sky ... but I will say this. That is the ring tone I have for my husband’s phone calls. And one of my top 10 favourite pop songs. My DH is my Mr. Blue Sky and my heart swells when I hear that song.
Yesterday, the swim instructor at my gym, whom I’ve done a good turn or two, took a good look at my swim stroke and gave me pointers. Amazing how a little change in my crawl stroke can speed up my swimming and make me feel so powerful and tire me out so quickly. Fun!
But it turns out what I called ‘breast stroke’ was more of a ‘froggie kick with underwater arm flailing’ he often starts out children on when learning breaststroke. Not kidding, that is almost a quote. I’ll be working on upgrading my froggie kick to a proper “whip kick” for a while. Lol.
To be fair to myself, the instructor admired my impeccable timing; on my pseudo breaststroke and kick; I could not teach that technique, you are really a natural, he said, now keep that timing but change you kick, your arm stroke, and your breathing- lol
In other news, cat jumped in bed as we were settling in under the covers last night. Somehow this resulted in DH’s knee painfully connecting with my eyebrow ridge. So a black eye is how I’m starting my vacation. My vanity is not pleased, but mostly it is just so sore and painful. I might have to break into the allotment of 2 per year asprin to try to reduce the swelling.
Packing will fill most of the day, I have not actually seen my family in over five years (since my mom died) and I’m emotional and indecisive at the moment. The silver lining is they last saw me at my typical adult weight of 10 pounds heavier, not the 50+ I was last year this time, so my appearance should not cause comment.
Ok, hot flash has subsided, back to bed.
