Okie and Lanette- Yes! Stand tall tall girls! Amazon women, unite! One thing that I noticed about being tall. My weight came on slowly and dispersed itself so evenly over my body, that it was very easy to ignore the fact that my weight was getting out of control. Did you find this to be true, for you?
Yes, that is me too. It is hard to visibly see loss until I lose about 25-30 lbs. Taken the other way, as long as I’m wearing stretchy clothes, I can gain that much too without it being obvious. I think it was Ann Landers that said years (decades) ago, always wear pants with a zipper. When they get snug, it’s time to lose a few pounds.

ETA - I was overzealous with the delete key and messed up the quote function. I’m too lazy to do it over.4 -

M love the photos. Sorry about your feet.
Michelle glad back is fine.
Barbie so sorry about your back. I know how much I hurt when I had my knee pain. DH was on pain meds when he had Cancer. He too did not like the side effects and quickly went to other methods too!. Prayers!

I'm up at the farm having a great time! Sorry for the fuzzy picture! Anybody remember the rhyme fuzzy wazzy was a ...we chased him out of the wheat field.

And I do love that beautiful black leather chair. Such a handsome piece of furniture.
Katla. I'm imagining you having a wonderful time with your visiting family!
Pip. I had to laugh a little bit about you calling yourself lazy. Not an adjective I would associate with you...
NYKaren I love penguins! Darned MFP changed jack.*kitten* penguins to *kitten* penguins. LOL!

Another bad night. Got up and watched a movie then slept until it was too late to go to water Grrr
Going to sort through my filing in box today, at least make a start.
Have a great day.

Machka - you live in a beautiful place!! Glad you were able to get some the tip of the iceberg taken care of and that your DH's rehab is going well. What kind of exercises is your podiatrist having you do?
Heather - good for you doing your targeted exercises, they have many benefits. Where did you learn them? Part of your yoga training?
I have started "The New Rules of Posture" book by Mary Bond and wow, she is very detailed with explanations and drawings. I found an hour+long presentation by her on Youtube I want to watch today. Here's the link which I hope stays up.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7emPAZByLk If the mods make it disappear, just search for "Mary Bond: The New Rules of Posture"
Here is some bio on her: Mary Bond is a former dancer, a Structural Integration practitioner and former Chair of the Rolf Movement® faculty of the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration. In addition to running movement workshops, she has authored many articles and two books: "The New Rules Of Posture" and "Your Body Mandala: Posture as a Path to Presence".
Drawing on current anatomy research and neuroscience, Mary discusses how her work empowers you to change the way you inhabit your body. She shares foundational sensory perceptions that, when practiced mindfully, change how you sit, stand and move.
Kelly and Okie - yes, being tall does have its advantages. I can gain or lose 10 lbs and my pants still fit, either too tight or too loose but often not enough to buy a different size. YES on having pants with a zipper! That's the real test for me, lol. I am hoping because we are tall we have more/longer muscles to burn glucose.
KarenNY - OK now I want to see a photo those blankety blank penquins, lol. When I saw *kitten* I thought maybe they leave poo poo all over the place like seagulls and Canada geese, hence the *kitten*, lol.
Barbie - gentle hugs as well. What's the nasal spray for? After both of my surgeries, Phillips Milk of Magnesia came to the rescue, tho I can see your doc wanting to use more natural methods.
Mary - look at you on the combine! What was Fuzzy Wuzzy doing in the wheatfield? Did he have any hair? LOL!Maybe he was taking a shortcut to someplace else?
Ok time to pick apples then head to town. Mama deer is in the back yard eyeballing my garden and I see she parked a couple spotted fawns in the front yard under old apple trees there. Seems late for fawns.
Have a good day all!

Just joined today so my Weeks goals are:
Journal all my food and exercise, keep motivated and lose 2 lbs by the end of the month.
I have been up and down the last 4 months because I am not staying on track. Here goes6 -
Hi all,
Lanette - Yes some is yoga, which I do daily, but a lot is from the Internet and the MFP emails. I bought a book on face exercises. I paid out good money for a sports physio who diagnosed my knee, so I use her exercises, plus the ones I got at the hospital. I have had a myriad investigations for that knee since I was 16, but only the sports physio diagnosed it properly and really helped me. I do pelvic floor contractions when I remember.
Barbie - I really feel your pain and frustration. Katla has managed to improve her bone density I believe with meds. I guess it's mainly rest at the moment. Boo!
We got a new quote from the removal man which was considerably cheaper. Win!
We had a delightful lunch out. Lovely pub and I had AF beer. I ordered the fish and chips, but had steamed veg instead of chips. It was really good and I availed myself of three of DH's delicious chips. (Fries) I did not say a word about the solicitor and after a food shopping trip on the way home DH rang him off his own bat. Of course he wasn't available and they promised to call us back. They haven't. Grrrrrrrrrr! Grrrrrrrrrr!
Must go and put the octopus head I froze into the trash for tomorrow's collection.

Have to run to work, had quite a trying and unpleasantly eventful trip home but had to ask:
Heather An “Octopus Head”? Really? How exotic.
Rye, tired and grumpy on four hours sleep but even so happy to be home.5 -
I’m watching the sun set as DH takes a nap after a very scenic day. The pics of Jac.ka@s penguins are below. They get the name from how they sound-just like donkeys, we heard them in the brush before seeing them! Also, you can smell them from a distance! This time of year the chicks are hatched and molting, they make a peeping sound. The adults are just adorable, waddling along ignoring us humans elbowing to take pics! One of the industrious birds was walking sticks back and forth to build a nest.
We also drove to cape of good hope, the southern most point in So Africa and I got to do what I began this journey for on MFP, I climbed (mostly steps but some rocky paths) up to a very high viewing spot, looking backward terrified me but I just concentrated on one foot at a time, eyes forward. My quads were like Jello afterwards but oh what views—so worth it! They called it a scenic walk, I called it redemption because before I got fitter, I never would have been able to do that
Once again we encountered animals crossing the road, today it was an ostrich but the pics are on dh’s Phone will post later.
NYKAREN8 -
I have to say I love to lurk and read about all the interesting lives around here! I am 5 9 - amazing what we do to ourselves. I always wished I was short and petite. Always felt like a big giant. Took me a long time to be proud of my height. Never really got comfortable with my weight - really too bad we beat ourselves up. That was my #1 goal with my children - to take pride in who they are physically and mentally!
Have a happy happy Thursday!

NYKAREN - Thanks for sharing your photos. I love penguins. We saw some years ago when we went to Phillip Island.
Okie2 -
Karen in VA Music! Found my earbuds, now waiting for my earache to subside. Thanks! Thanks also for explaining the penguins' first names, lost I was!
Lanette "PAD"? Acorn and BritBox sound way better than Showtime and Stars, which we've postponed upgrading to due $$$... Hesitate tho to spend for just my pc, if our TV were internet enabled... then maybe...
Rebecca I too had a serious slip up. Last night feeling cranky from earache, made a coke float with Ben and Jerry's NY Super Fudge Chunk ice cream. Boy did I pay for it! It's been long enough since last ice cream that lactase deficiency really kicked my butt ;( Long night on the throne. Today its back to cottage cheese and greek yoghurt which my gut tolerates just fine!
KJ "...do the splits..." :noway: not even at 8 yo in ballet.
Heather, you've inspired me! Found the podcast app, and Soul Music from BBC4 and now listening to True Colors, one of my faves!
SuebDew count me in on someone who'd love to come pick your pecans...
Michele, If the newcomer's webmaster can't restrict your access, can he make it easy for you to back up the whole thing BEFORE you make any changes? Just in case...
Penny toxins pass into unborn child??? Wow!
Tracey I save the dinner dishes to do if insomnia hits in the middle of the night. If not, they get done while the tea water boils. Mama would shake more than her head at my P!$$ poor housekeeping but it wouldn't surprise her, its always been that way...
Margaret when line dancing if I focus on chin up/shoulders back I'm sore the next day, but the good sore that means I did something for my muscles. Zumba on!
Kay "ab ripper 200" you go gal! Would love to hear about your vinyl floor tile estimate and experience... maybe next year for us...
Ginger absolutely LOVE your shirt! At 4'11" count me in on the "short list"
Barbie severely limited walking... for a month or ? What does the nasal spray do? gentle (((hugs))) and healing energy.
Rye looks like that tail has already bonded with your husband's neck! Hope Mr. Kidd Kirby and Jackie Kane will be welcoming.
Wendy baby seals flying down in front of your student horseback riding on sunny beach. You ARE magic!
Okie "find somewhere to live affordably on 5 acres with no close neighbors in the middle of a city with stuff in walking distance and uber available?" Let me know when you do and I'll take the place next door
Machka lovely walk!
Mary you could chase the bear out of our neighborhood if that monster machine weren't so wide
NYKaren love the pics! Had a hard time imagining you seeing penguins on other than icefields...
Welcome 6cookys, let us know what you want to be called and roughly where youare.
Handkerchiefs: one of my T'ai Chi pals had a color coordinated hanky sticking out of the cell phone pocket on her yoga pants. We had a lovely chat remembering ironing our parents hankies, linens, etc, and grimaced at ironing Papa's shorts
Alexa: thanks all for the cautions. We won't be getting her and I'm trying to figure out how to disable Siri on my iPhone.
Yellow rooms. Mama always had a yellow kitchen, not my fave. Joe loved his chrome yellow, oxblood red striped kitchen, not gonna happen. If anything, thinking to paint cabinets shiny white and add cherry red accents to match my teakettle. It's the only red I like and the closest Joe's gonna get...
Actually got down on the floor yesterday, meditated, took care of knees and even walked "one more step" for the first time in days. Gonna repeat it right now.
Thank you all, your support and postings are so very dear!
Lighter, lovelies!

Barbara I have great headphones - both earbud type and over the ear type - and I love them. My partner works from home. She has ADHD, so on my days off work, she can be very distracting, and I end up feeling as if I haven't had 2 minutes of peace. I forewarn her that I am going on "ignore" mode, and then put on my headphones. She continues to fuss and putter and mutter (which is how she processes stuff), but I can't hear her.
About the color yellow, you could put a bouquet of yellow sunflowers in a vase in your kitchen when you are feeling kindly towards your husband...
Mary That big combine made me a bit homesick for Nebraska! Fuzzy bear indeed!
NYKAREN Absolutely adorable penguins. I do love penguins. Funny little creatures!
