Cathy- Angel is such a pretty dog! My house used to be warm tones; yellows, peachy tans, browns, etc. Now I am blues and greys. Your mom is doing an amazing job with the dollhouse! Lucky little girl getting that!

Barbie, how depressing, to be doing everything you know to be right, and still have to deal with a painful, incapacitating problem! There is one other thing I thought of: Your hormone levels might be imbalanced which I believe is also a factor in osteo. Worth having a cheap saliva test done. You might need progesterone and or estriol creams. If your body is not absorbing the calcium, perhaps the magnesium ratio needs to be increased. Don't despair, there will be something you can do to improve things. Dig and search and you will find the answer to your particular situation. It's worth experimenting with different protocols to see what works for you. <3 Wendy

Katla :D:D:D Maybe as your son leaves to go home, you should tell him you will check in with him every half hour just to be sure you are staying on track.

Barbara- I will let you know when it is time to book your flight to Texas to pick pecans. Lol.
NYKaren - I hope your legs weren’t sore after your climb bunt I know the trek was worth it to see the view.
Beth- than, you for the update on your son. Will continue to pray for him, the medical team and for you.
Barbie- so. Sorry about your situation. It is disheartening when you’ve done everything right and you still have problems.

Did a lower body and total body DVD. I didn’t use any weights that required me to put my hands above my head. The plan for tomorrow is to take the water class.

M – you certainly deserve a day “off”. That is wonderful that you could do it at work. Were you maybe in a conference room?

Wendy – I would be very interested in the regenerating list. I can’t wait for you to post it

Kylia – I’m almost always low on fat but high on carbs. I know this is because I love my fruits and veggies.

    Cookys – welcome!

NYKaren – those penguins look so cute…but I guess in real life they aren’t as cute

Brenner – so glad you stopped lurking and jumped in

Barbara – glad you’re better now. Really, I’m not going to worry too much about the Newcomers website. In a few months I’ll be out of there. Vince would KILL me if I allowed someone else to do something to my computer. He suggested a local business to do that sort of thing, but they (the board) don’t want to go for it. They’d prefer to stay with the company that’s located who knows where? Why should we use up all that space on our network backing up their (Newcomers) data? I’m not going to get involved. I had a friend who used to say “short people are the first to see the flowers grow and the last to feel the raindrops fall”

Exercised, volunteered at the Green Room, then went to WalMart since Vince needed milk and I wanted a few other things. Had I known he had picked up his prescription, I would have gone to another WM where I could have gotten a few other things, too

Katie – that is scary about the guy in who didn’t change his license plates

Rori – when I get a headache like that, it’s usually sinuses. Do you feel like your teeth are hurting any, especially the ones on the top?

Beth – oh, sweetheart (((BIG HUMONGOUS HUG)))) Thanks for the update. Will keep you in my prayers and thoughts. Let us know how everything goes

Barbie – which medication did the bone doctor prescribe? Sometimes you have to try different ones to find what works for you. After trying actonel and fosamax, I needed reclast and now Prolia. The Prolia seems to be working for me. You KNOW I do strength training and eat fairly healthily, but it just wasn’t enough. Now the Prolia seems to be helping. Last BDT showed that after many years I was osteoporatic. I’m going to wait for another BDT to confirm that the person reading the test was correct.

Just got an email from the present webmaster. He's making up a new database in which people can search for other people's interests (I only told them months ago that he couldn't fix this and that it's a feature that would be and was used) and he wants everyone to have an individual email. I told him previously that some people share emails and some don't want an email address. But he's still insisting that everyone have one. I suggested that he make up a bogus email like JL_no_email but that didn't fly. This should be interesting. I can think of one guy who I'm sure if he even sees this email (which I highly doubt) isn't going to want to be bothered. I'm just going to sit back.....

    Hello ladies!

Barbie ... I'm so sorry you are dealing with back issues ...

Thank you for thinking of my son. There was a wrinkle in my son's surgery plans. Once his actual surgeon was involved, he decided to take a conservative and somewhat unorthodox approach (which has apparently confused most of the hospital staff) to my son's protruding pump. On the morning of the surgery, the pump became a certified open wound. As a result, the surgeon had to make the assumption that there was some type of infection, even though my son was showing no signs of infection. They pulled the internal pump out and left it outside the body, left the catheter attached to the pump and inside the body. So his internal pump is now where it was pushing to be ... outside. They have it stitched to a binder and sitting on the outside of his abdomen. They cleaned and stitched up the wound and put him on IV antibiotics. The surgeon found that the wound was becoming crystallized/infected?, but he does not believe that the pump or catheter were infiltrated by the infection. So we wait in the hospital for a week. Then next Tuesday or Wednesday, assuming things don't worsen, they will go back to surgery and observe if there is any internal infection. If none, then they will fully remove the old pump and place a new one in a different location. If there is infection, they'll yank it all. In the meantime they are slowly weaning him off the pump medication and giving him oral medication in the event everything has to go. His pump is for spasticity, so this is a somewhat painful process as oral meds don't come close to doing what the pump meds accomplished. And now we're dealing with a long hospital stay and all the problems it inherently brings ... Sigh. I only stayed overnight the first night and now I'm here at the hospital early morning until late at night taking care of him. I feed him, bathe (with some help), pretty much just reassure him that all will be well, make certain people don't do stupid stuff ... basically just being his mom. If you read all of that, thank you! Continued good thoughts/prayers that the infection heals and he can have the replacement pump next week would be greatly appreciated.

Ok. So I just checked to see if I could touch the floor. I'm 5'8 with very long legs, very short torso and very long arms! Shopping for clothes has been a nightmare. Anyways, yes, I can put my palms on the floor with some hamstring tightness. You know, I thought I could carry weight well, but when I look at old photos ... I was fooling myself.

I continue to lose weight. This not really from healthy measures at this point --but no time to go and eat. I'm trying to make certain I get some protein and fruit in and hopefully when things get back to normal I can maintain the weight loss.

Beth who is now in downtown Buffalo.
Beth, thanks for the up date. How busy you are.........the hospital helper has a long, hard day. It’s labor intensive for sure.
How lucky he is to have family help.Prayers & good thoughts for your son & all involved.

Barbara,I have no help to offer. DHs Grmother had spinal fractures .....back then, there was no help to offer. She was a tiny little bit of a woman,a teacher that retired young & was a huge worker on their farm.Sounds like the Dr’s will be right there for you. Glad they have a handle on it. Good luck. :) A note about bone density. Several doctors including a bone specialist said that what I've been doing was exactly what was prescribed for good bone density but my bone density wasn't responding. The medicine prescribed by the specialist didn't do enough so when this treatment is finished, my doctor is going to put me on Fosomax. I consume plenty of calcium and vitamin D, do strength training, walking, and dancing and consume a meatless alkaline diet and it wasn't enough. I did the best I could and it wasn't enough. Right now I am staying in the moment and warding of despair.

    <3 Barbie

    Really sorry!!

I hope they can sort something out for you.

Beth in NY - Praying for your son and you. It's so hard to watch when our children suffer and we feel so helpless. Do take care of yourself and let us know how things are going.

Karen, you have been "full of the old Nick" (as my Mom used to say) all week. You've been cracking me up. Lovin it.

    (((((Beth)))))

Barbie, it is frustrating to know that you do everything right and are still in pain. All I’ve got is this: just think how much worse this would be if you were also heavy and out of shape.

    Hi Sisters,

Here is a link to foods that help reverse osteo: https://arrowheadhealth.com/foods-that-help-rebuild-cartilage/

I found out that the discs between the spines are similar to cartilage so this can help spine disc degeneration. And here is another link I sent to my mother with some great advice on what to take as a supplement for quick healing.

https://steptohealth.com/quickly-regenerate-damaged-cartilage/ Hope this helps some of you. Prayers for all who are hurting or have family or friends in pain or dying...

Loved Angel, what beautiful eyes, and I adore doll houses. I want one. LOL <3 Wendy
