Round 57: My 1st Round

10/25 – 58.7kg Exercised for 30min yesterday and ate healthy breakfast and lunch and ended up eating heavy dinner. I tend to eat more for dinners should try to control this.
10/26 – 58.5kg didn’t exercise at all yesterday, finished my dinner early rather than having late night dinners I decided to eat early and I am happy to see the difference. Will try to stick to this plan.
10/27 – 58.3kg Spent some time in the morning to exercise. I realized how difficult it is to burn calories and then how easy it is to eat all those calories, so the whole day I was very choosy and careful about what I ate. I went out with friends and I said no to Pizzzaaa I can’t believe I did that!! Wow! and the prize for that is what I saw in the morning today a drop of 0.2kg! yay!!

10/25 131.0 Met my friend Amy at the gym yesterday did 20 minutes on the treadmill and 2 1/2 minutes on the elliptical. I know that’s not much, but the gym is remodeling and have no ladies room and I really needed one. I hadn’t been on the elliptical for probably three years and it’s been almost 2 since I last did the treadmill except a few days last month when Amy and I started doing this together. Searched out my HRM and need to update the settings- the last time I used it I weighed 174!
10/26 131.0 Met Amy at the gym yesterday. Guild meeting last night and I didn’t snack on ANY of the goodies available. I didn’t even look at them!
10/27 130.5 Dinner at friends last night. Pork ribs and roasted Brussels sprouts. Had 1 adult beverage. Today my sewing friends are coming over. I’m making a keto casserole and more Brussels sprouts! Also Cream Cheese Fudge, another keto recipe.12 -

10/27 181.2 yay! I went to a yoga class last night. It was more of a meditation with long stretching positions using props like cushions and blocks for support. I think we did only 7 positions for the entire 1.5 hours and it was WONDERFUL. I stretched out some tight muscles, and the best was when we put or legs up in the wall. I think it really helped move my lymph flow. I’m going to make it part of my routine and go twice a week.11 -

@sdelpapa I eat up to an hour before bed. I am not saying that is the best way to go. It's just how I sometimes do it. I am an "in bed watching TV" snacker. However, what I eat I usually have planned into my daily macros. If I don't allow that, I will usually binge eat. My snacks are either dark chocolate 72% or higher (I eat 90%). or nuts such as walnuts or almonds. On occasion I've had a tablespoon of peanut butter if I also want protein. I am going to try the snack that @quiltingjaine mentioned: peanut butter with a bit of dark cocoa and a touch of stevia. I would eat that right off the spoon s.l.o.w.l.y. so it lasts a bit. I also intermittent fast so whatever time my snack ends - my 16 hour fast begins. So I do try to be somewhat reasonable with my time choices. My two meals on the fast are later in the day so it helps me get through my late night. I never ever let the snack stop me from fasting. I know there is a lot of information about late night eating, digesting, fat storage, fat burn and more out there. Some of it contradicts the other. I have no idea exactly what is best or what matters and what simply does not. It would be interesting to see the views or information others have on the subject. This I know for sure about me......I must avoid bingeing at night.

10/27 – 160.6 – Maybe I will make it to my goal this round. Two days now of counting all calories and also watching that I get enough protein. Both help with evening snacking. I didn’t realize how slack I was on the counting till I started looking back. I had never paid attention to the protein because I am a real meat lover but because I have to watch my fat (gall bladder issues) sometimes it’s too low.

Finally took the time to read the last couple of days properly. I often start writing my notes in the morning, while getting ready and then post later and sometimes miss a few posts...
Welcome to all new joiners, you'll not regret joining this group, it is super supportive and helped me stick with it, however slowl or up&down the journey. And daily weigh ins are great to reflect on how life/hormones/stress and our choices impact on loss.

@sdelpapa I. Usually eat about 1-3 hrs before bed. I often get home around 7-8pm and then try to cook but if I've been to the gym, I'll have a small dinner around 10 and then go to bed by 11pm.

@321goOO and @deepwoodslady pizza is difficult to stay away from. My husband orders almost every week while watching football (socker), but it turns out that a couple of slices, weighed of course. Are not that bad, and they fill me enough and easy my craving. i tried to stay away and then end up eating much more next time round.12 -

10/27 - 147 - Well, here's the bounce. I had half a philly chicken gyro for supper last night and although I ate below maintenance for the day, I'm sure that sandwich had plenty of sodium. No regrets though, it was delicious and we only get carry out food a couple times a month. Back to more healthy eating for the rest of the weekend.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. On the other hand when I look at the big picture and the averages it has been a consistent loss except for two rounds. Round 53 was my 50 birthday celebrations that upped my weight for a few days.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

10/25 147.0 ??? Today is a long day with after school workshops for the parents. We'll be ordering dinner. Persian food is one of my favorites. 12 hour work day - 11k steps
10/26 150 Hmmm. I expected to be a little higher than yesterday but not this much. I'll drink lots of water and see where this goes tomorrow. I won't let this bump lead me into a downward spiral like it did last round. I actually ended the last round not far from where I started, so I could have lost weight by sticking it out.

Great workout with my trainer today. My Physical Therapist said not to work on biceps, but I feel that listening to my her is contributing to my freezing shoulder. I'm going to trust my personal trainer to know how to help me exercise without further injuring my shoulder. Concert tonight at the Hollywood Bowl with a picnic dinner - I can't wait and will be making healthy choices so that I can splurge a little with my beverage.

I'm in again too!
Last round was not a good one for me. I was not able to complete it. But this time I want to stay consistent! This will be my fourth round. I have ordered my Fitbit and waiting to get my hands on it! (I have a way too sedentary lifestyle)
Also planned to set mini goals from now on and try to acheive it in order to stay in track! My first mini goal for now is to reach 75kg before Nov 1st!

10/25 - 76kg Taking it slow and steady. If my scale was not moving down as I expect it to be, I am not gonna get discouraged this time! Because last round I gave up due to this reason!
10/26 - 76kg. No worries! At least the scale didn't move up!
10/27 - 75.7kg scale didn't move from 76kg for a while. So happy with today's reading! Made an initiative from yesterday to eat dinner at least 2 hours before going to bed. But still got hungry when I went to bed and so had to eat some biscuits!

10/25 - 145. Excited to be back for another challenge! I've been busy working, eating and then gaining back some weight for the past few rounds. Getting back on track now. I have continued to lift weights and meet step goals, so not all has been lost during the missed rounds. I started with 15 pounds on all of my lifts and a few of them have progressed to over 100 pounds now. It's kind of fun to see those bigger plates on the bar.
10/26 - 144. Nearly 15,000 steps yesterday, plus weight lifting and stayed a touch under my calorie goal. I swear I would have grazed my way around the house last night and doubled my calorie consumption if it wasn't for being back in this challenge. Thank you everyone for being here!
10/27 - 143. Step and calorie goals achieved yesterday. I took measurements this morning and was surprised to see that although I happened to be the exact same weight as I was last time I measured in September, every measurement (except my calves) was smaller. I know this has happened to others, but figured it was a phenomenon reserved for people who exercise a lot more intensely than I do. Seeing those smaller measurements this morning made me so happy!

10/25 - 179.2 ….. I will have to make my starting weight my last weigh-in though I'm sure it is up from the travel. I can feel the horrible bloat and the sickness in my stomach. Too many carbs.
10/26 – 181.2….. Well. There it is. Yikes!!!! Glad to be home and back to routine. I have my work cut out for me, but I got this.
10/27 – 178.4….. Whoosh! Thanks Tish for that triple threat drink recipe. I knew I’d have to pull out all the stops. Drinking it again today (2 cups) to see if I have more excess water. Drinking extra water too. Wow! Nearly 3 pounds overnight. It can come on this fast overnight for me, so coming off this fast overnight is FAIR ENOUGH! I am so happy to be typing the weight in red again. Now, I will spend my time working back toward my lowest weight in the past month. It won’t likely happen this round, but it IS going to happen. Yes, Yes, Yes. @denswrex is right. Today is an OUTSTANDING day! …. P.S. (And even without the lasagna I am just as full and just as satisfied). Skipping through the house in happiness and gratefulness today. I feel young again!

@koirakoira - I like your goal of stopping the late night snacking, it looks like you're doing great so far. @sdelpapa asked how many hours before we go to bed do we stop eating. That's all over the place for me, but what is consistent is that if I eat a normal dinner and then continue to snack my way through the evening, everything falls apart!

10/25: 195.7 (17,646 steps). Almost 13k steps at the time of writing this. Will go on a run after dinner. Did an amazing upper body workout. Day 5 of 30 days of yoga. Food isn’t so great today, though i will be under if I count my exercise calories.
10/26: 194.7! (9,455) Feels nice, aside from my right pec and glute being sore. Will have to take an epsom salt bath sometime today. I also had a hell of a time falling asleep. My upper spine really hurt. Hoping to make better food choices today and continue to see a downward trend. I will add steps the next day.
10/27 194.3! Today is homework and studying for my kinesiology midterm on Monday. Will try to get my steps in, but it might be hard.

10/25 -78.6kg, I think I’m noticing a pattern here. I kind of stagnate or fluctuate down and up for a few days, and then drop suddenly and harshly. I think I like it! It sucks seeing the scales go up and up but rewarding when it finally drops to where it really should be, and I guess that’s why we track every day, to see these patterns
10/26 - 79.0kg, I ate over my calories by a lot yesterday. I regret it but it’s done! And not only did the scales go up, but I feel awful this morning. Lesson learned!
10/27 - 79.0kg, stayed under cals yesterday and drank loads of water!
10/28 - 78.7kg, happy to see this! 1200cals, plenty of water, happy days
