New to this challenge so just a little about myself. I'm 5'4" and my heaviest weight was 196 lbs (Aug 2017). Even at that weight I didn't really feel the need to do something. But very recently I realized that I have always loved nature and I would love to go hiking at various state parks. I want to be able to complete them. There are various other reasons too, such as health. But my driving goal right now is being able to enjoy the world's natural beauties and see them in person. I've been on the weight loss roller coaster before and failed at eating 1,200 calories a day. I currently aim to eat 1,400-1,500 calories a day. I know it won't be as fast but I want to maintain my weight loss this time ( I feel my previous failures were from being too hungry and binge eating), even if it means only losing a small amount of weight each week.
Age: 25
Height: 5'4"
Challenge SW (10/24): 182.8
UGW: 140 lbs
Day/Weight/Comment
10/25: 182.7 (-0.1) I ate a little bit over my caloric goal and had just over 1,500 calories for the day. I ate all healthy foods, but to be honest I probably put a little too much salt on my steak. I also had good news yesterday, I thought I had injured my back but the physical therapist touched my back and in less than a second said I had a huge knot and my muscles were just seizing up from it. He worked the knot out and the sharp pains were gone! He said I could go back to exercising and that it would actually be good for my back muscles to be engaged.

10/24- 201.8 so yesterday was a good day, I ate well but could of had a bit more water. I didn't get to work out this am bc I only got 4 hours of sleep last night. Maybe I will try for a quick 30min workout but we are trick or treating at my job tonight so we'll see how late I end up being out. So far ive eaten well today
Day/Weight/Comment
10/25- 198.8 5am post workout. didn't get the workout in yesterday evening, ate well yesterday however! Making a conscious attempt to drink more water today

10/25 175.2 - Woah what? That's got to be water! Crazy. I feel like I was real consistent with my water yesterday, but I'm going to be extra mindful of it today.
Also, I'm needing to work on stress management. This past few days at work I've been feeling a little overwhelmed. I've got to figure it out because this time of year through around March/April it's often crazy busy at the hospital.
Last challenge I set a goal of 6 days with exercise and I'm going to continue that goal.

My goals are to really work and try to loose another 10-15 pounds by my 29th birthday in December
10/25 149.8- yesterday I worked out but ate a bit too much, late night snacking got to me..I still managed under my calories but it does explain the "maintenance" I drank 1 liter of water, so not great on the water front. I have been extra hungry for the past two weeks but I finally feel normal again now that I am mid week into my TOM. I also feel good today, totally more energized then I have been the past two weeks (like I was before my cold started... gosh colds last a long time) here is to a good day! i am also happy to report i took my measurments this morning and I am half an inch down around my waist, 1 inch down around my hips and 1 and a half inches down around my thighs...what a good start to my day

Sunrise this morning was spectacular! I'm looking forward to a nice walk on the river greenway. Then I'm off to the dr's office - I was pruning a rose yesterday and it fought back. I'm sure there's a thorn tip embedded in my leg (nice finish to a long scratch) and my hubby couldn't get it and I can't reach it very well. That'll be fun! Have a lovely day, all!

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. On the other hand when I look at the big picture and the averages it has been a consistent loss except for two rounds. Round 53 was my 50 birthday celebrations that upped my weight for a few days.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

10/25 149 Back here again, but with new motivation. I found an old tablet yesterday and was looking through old photos of myself, and got inspired to lower my goal weight to 134.5. Weight loss is first and mostly about psychology, and it really helped to see myself slimmer, smiling, looking like I felt great. Yesterday I had a really good day, lowered my calories back to 1200 and started wearing my fitbit again. Refocusing on my macros, since higher protein works best for me (carbs 25%, fat 45%, protein 30%) and seeking to hit that protein goal of 90g daily. These past 5 rounds I have indulged plenty, tasted all the foods I was desiring, and have come back to the realization that I feel better when I eat more simply. Skipping breakfast unless I am hungry, lots of salads, and grilled lean protein. Occasional treats, not daily. Looking forward to this round more than I have in a while! Have a great day everyone!
10/26 148.4 Dedicated to staying out of the 150's this round as I stay on course. Candy is in the house but I am safe! Tomorrow night we are going to a big Halloween party, so I will save some calories to snack there, but stay away from sweets. I have had enough sweets over the past several rounds to be ready to stay away.

10/25 150.5 Late posting today but I did weigh this morning. Glad the little bit I gained came off pretty quickly. 😊
10/26 150 Yayyy! Definitely made me happy to see this number this morning. I shared a story on my personal page yesterday that when I went for my walk, I seen an elderly lady that I met several months ago and haven't seen since. She knew who I was once we started talking, but she said the reason she didn't recognize me at first was my weight loss. Feels great to be noticed 😊

@emilyc0525 Welcome! Please don't be nervous! This is a great, supportive group!
@deepwoodslady :-) and Mantra I gave my sis as she is also going through the same "I am perfect health, my body has everything it needs to heal itself" So happy to hear you are there!
@SheilaBoneham We will want a photo!!! I always feel so good with a fresh hairdo!
@Ooga78 You are so close to your birthday goal, and have made AMAZING progress!! Way to go!
@abowersgirl Have a great weekend and remember to be kind to yourself
@bisonpitcher Welcome to the group, you have made some big changes, I am so impressed! over 100 lbs lost takes serious dedication. There are a few of us here dealing with those last few annoying lbs...the concensus seems to be that they are the hardest, but I am working to change my thinking into they are the most rewarding!
@320goOO Welcome to the group! stick to it please! I have learned so much since being here, both from my daily weigh ins and from everyone else's journey.
@cdavisdeva Been wanting to comment your lil guy is so adorable! Looks a little like my grandson, round and sweet and oh so loveable! I want to acknowledge you for doing this so soon after having him, it can be extra difficult being a new mom and taking care of yourself, I know firsthand! As a mom of 5 the best advice I have is to always remember to take care of yourself first, so you have more to give to your loved ones. If we operate at an emotional deficit we can never catch up...your cup needs to get filled first so you can overflow to everyone else. xoxoxo

@deepwoodslady Donna, congrats on your GREAT NEWS! Prayers about the winter travel issue.
@kmfeig87 It can be frustrating but LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE. Over the previous 3 rounds (30 days) you went DOWN 6.5#. Daily bounces are normal. And then -3# in one day for a win. It may bounce up or it may not. Enjoy and carry on!
@abowersgirl Since I’m doing keto, if I want a treat in the afternoon or evening I will make a cup of coffee, add a little stevia and 14g of butter (yes, I weigh it.) Put it in the blender at high for a few seconds and have a lovely drink that won’t tamper with my blood sugar and will satisfy the desire for something special and is filing. Sometimes I also add a little heavy cream. That is my BUTTER COFFEE. The PB concoction is 1/4 cup Smucker’s Natural PB (made with only peanuts and salt) mixed with a spoonful of Hershey’s Special Dark Cocoa and a few drops of stevia. This is by “my chair” and if I want “dessert” I have 1-2 teaspoons. I find both of these very satisfying.
@cdavisdeva It is quite a boost when someone notices. YAY!4 -

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
10/25 131.0 Met my friend Amy at the gym yesterday did 20 minutes on the treadmill and 2 1/2 minutes on the elliptical. I know that’s not much, but the gym is remodeling and have no ladies room and I really needed one. I hadn’t been on the elliptical for probably three years and it’s been almost 2 since I last did the treadmill except a few days last month when Amy and I started doing this together. Searched out my HRM and need to update the settings- the last time I used it I weighed 174!
10/26 131.0 Met Amy at the gym yesterday. Guild meeting last night and I didn’t snack on ANY of the goodies available. I didn’t even look at them!10 -

🎀 10/25 - 178.4 - An early weigh in, but I'm certain this is true. An impromptu day out with a friend threw me off of my normal pattern. Did not drink enough water. Did not drink my electrolytes. Ate POPCORN. I bought some popcorn kernels to pop corn for my husband. WHY did I eat 2 cups of popcorn? I don't even eat corn or grains. So I deserve this temporary gain.
🎀10/26 - 178.8 - Even though my weight dropped to 176.6, don't forget who I am. Super Spongebarb. Lol. It will come back down. I looked back over the past 2 weeks of my diary and I've had more than a few days eating less protein than I should. Gotta correct that.

10/25: 195.7 (17,646 steps). Almost 13k steps at the time of writing this. Will go on a run after dinner. Did an amazing upper body workout. Day 5 of 30 days of yoga. Food isn’t so great today, though i will be under if I count my exercise calories.
10/26: 194.7! Feels nice, aside from my right pec and glute being sore. Will have to take an epsom salt bath sometime today. I also had a hell of a time falling asleep. My upper spine really hurt. I won't let this bump lead me into a downward spiral like it did last round. I actually ended the last round not far from where I started, so I could have lost weight by sticking it out.

10/25 165.6 Back for a new round! Hoorah! My weight is a little up, but I did what I needed to do, so it’ll come down soon. Yesterday was raining, so Thor and I didn’t get in a walk, but I did a Chalean Extreme workout. I must have done it correctly, because it was hard, as Chalean says it should be. Today, I’ll spend most of the day playing cards with friends (and watching calories).
10/26 165.0 Thor and I got in our 4 mile walk this morning. I’m surprised at how much his fitness is improving. We have a one acre yard, but he spends a lot of time in the house and only runs when cows, donkeys, or strangers are at the fence or an unwelcome small animal is in his yard. This walk is good for both of us! I have concerts with my gospel group this weekend, one this evening, two tomorrow, and two Sunday. All our songs are choreographed, so we get a little exercise. We carry our own equipment and set up our sound, too. No hikes with Thor this weekend, but four of us in the group are watching what we eat. We will hold each other accountable. I made a big egg & veggie scramble for brunch. Hopefully, it's settled enough so I can do a strengthening session before I get ready to leave for the evening.

@quiltingjane Thanks for all your well wishes & congrats regarding my dr. appointments. It really means a lot. Thanks also for the peanut butter recipe with the cocoa & stevia. What a nice way to get a bit of dessert while adding some protein to my diet! I love it!
@kmfeig87 Wow! you have landed solidly in the 160's. Congratulations and enjoy how great that feels! Healthy is wonderful!
@tiabirdie56 Thanks for your nice comments to me about my mammogram & appointments. Also for your opinion on the best drink. I made the pitcher this morning. This called for pulling out all the best ingredients. I could tell by the bloat (I hadn't seen it this bad in a long long time) that I was in trouble. I know this will really help. I don't have fresh parsley available in our only grocery store in my town, but I picked some up on the way home from the University Hospital, so I'm good to go. I also go to Walmart about twice per month (about an hour away) so I will make sure I grab some every time! Thanks again.
@abowersgirl Thanks to you also for all your well wishes. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy the life you work so hard to keep healthy. Enjoy your travels and plans!
@denswrex Thank you for your nice comments regarding my cancer appointments. It is so nice to be supported, especially since my husband is no longer here with me. I also wanted you to know that I loved your comments to @bisonpitcher. To think that the last pounds are not the hardest but, instead, are the most rewarding is such a great outlook. As I get closer to my own goals, I will keep that near & dear to my heart.
@jaccimc63 Thanks for your comments on my great cancer center news. It means a lot that others have been thinking of me and sharing my relief. I also want to congratulate you on the spectacular 140's that you are slaughtering! You are an inspiration and I can't wait to get there!
@heymossy So nice to see you back. I always appreciate your inputs and your outlook on our journeys. And that dog.....well, do they get any cuter? Please share: boy or girl, what is known breed and what is their name? I've fallen in love. I miss my Maggie (cocker spaniel) that I lost in February. I also lost my cat Milo this year after 19 1/2 years. I have my 18 1/2 yr old cat named Reeces left and she is showing all the signs of aging. I am considering another dog. I miss that companionship. Yours seemed to have posed for you. Too cute......5 -
Back for Round 57 (my 2nd round). Thanks again @Grandmajackie! I owe my -4 lbs to you!!

We are ordering sushi for dinner so should be fine from the food aspect. Just that darn wine and hot tub. Wish me luck! Maybe they'll cancel on me! haha, no no. Sat/Sun plan --- I'm going to hit the gym both Sat and Sun (I usually just walk the dog/chase the 'littles' around)! Day/Weight/Comment:
10/25 - 179.2 ..... I will have to make my starting weight my last weigh-in though I'm sure it is up from the travel. I can feel the horrible bloat and the sickness in my stomach. Too many carbs. So, I am home from the University Cancer Center and everything appears to be good! Yay. Good luck everyone on this round! And thanks to EVERYONE for all the well wishes. I took them all with me for good luck and as blessings!
10/26 – 181.2….. Well. There it is. Yikes!!!! Glad to be home and back to routine. I have my work cut out for me, but I got this. If I can continue to beat cancer, I can do ANYTHING! I will be sipping on my “special” debloating drink today (thanks to Tish) which I know will greatly help. Tomorrow should show some progress. I just want everyone to know that my small town does not have a bakery (nor does our small grocery store). Therefore, there are no bagels or donuts to be had (fresh) ANYWHERE WITHIN AN HOUR’S DRIVE OF MY HOME. I caved more than once in the last few travel days. NO MORE DONUTS OR BAGELS FOR ME ANYTIME SOON! Just keeping it honest here.

If we operate at an emotional deficit we can never catch up...your cup needs to get filled first so you can overflow to everyone else. xoxoxo
@denswrex thank you so much! I also meant to share the picture here too and it slipped my mind. Maybe I will do that soon . I really appreciate your advice! Makes sense, so many times I have taken care of the baby and my other 2 children and don't even stop to eat or take care of myself, and end up extra exhausted because of it. I have gotten much better about this. Congrats on being a Grandmother! ❤4 -
quiltingjaine wrote: »@cdavisdeva It is quite a boost when someone notices. YAY!
@quiltingjaine Thank you and YES! Makes me feel wonderful when people notice. A couple weeks ago when I went back home to see my family, their jaws literally dropped because how much I lost since the last time I seen them. I do not mention this to brag, just mention it because I see myself in the mirror every day and it is hard to see the loss as much, but I definitely do feel it!

10/26 173.8 - I knew that had to be water! It's my day off and today's things to do include some cleaning, getting some exercise, grocery shopping and getting some rest! Have a great day everyone!

gamesdonequick.com/ If anyone wants treadmill/indoor cardio entertainment and enjoy video games, be sure to check this out live stream. It goes to a bunch of good causes to help children, veterans, people with cancer, and so much more. I'm definitely going to watch it all weekend.3
