THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

11/04 - 71kg kg No plan the last few days, so this isn't suprising. Actually, reading back, I overindulged most days in the last round.
I have no real plan for this round as I'll be traveling and settling in. I will buy food&body scales, find a gym, running routes and a routine for lunches etc in this round. It is frustrating that judt 10 days have undone the last few weeks, but I will not let that discourage me.

If I work hard now, I will leave the “Obese” BMI soon, so I am pushing for consistency, I want to see a more consistent downward trend this round. I am hoping for good things this month!
This is a long term thing, a few bad days or weeks is something I'm getting better at coping with.

I spend five hours yesterday at the dog show (BIG 5-day show here each Nov.) and walked miles. I used to show my dogs, and it was great to see lots of people I haven't seen since we moved away 9 years ago, and to smooch with lots of dogs. I got a thorough going over from Lily when I got home!

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
11/4 131.0 I have not been drinking enough water the last couple of days. Cooler temps (yesterday a high of 80) make it more difficult for me to remember.8 -

11/04 - 177.2.....My body seems to like this number, even if I don’t. Yesterday I felt so strong and capable and that made sticking to plan and getting in my steps very easy. I am starting today also feeling strong and confident so I’m hoping I can get through all those inevitable temptations. Tomorrow is a different story. I will be traveling out of town to celebrate my daughter’s 24th birthday with a movie, a restaurant and some shopping. I will stick to plan before and after the excursion but I will ultimately enjoy the middle as we celebrate. I will try not to go overboard, but carbs add up quickly. I will be bringing home fresh parsley, cucumber and lemons for the “triple threat” concoction to offset any water bloat from the birthday lunch. This is my plan. The Ultimate Goal is to NOT BINGE for the rest of the night just because I had one special meal.

I derailed myself last year undoing a lot of good work. After a long absence from myfitnesspal I am back on track. This 10 day challenge seems like something I can do. I joined with Round 57. This is my 2nd consecutive round.
Age: 59
Sex: M
Height: 5ft 10 1/2"
HW: 313 lbs (reached twice, sad to say)
Pre-challenge SW: 313 lbs (started back at myfitnesspal Oct 1st. Down 15 lbs in the 3 weeks prior to round 57)
SW for the round 57 challenge: 298 lbs (I have a photo to prove it, I'll take a new one at the start of every week)
GW sometime in 2020: 195 lbs (several beautiful Italian double-breasted suits await me)
Round 58
SW for this round: 295 lbs
GW for this round: 291 lbs (drop 4 lbs)
Day 01. 11/04 295 lbs

@FarmerCarla and ALL OTHERS who may be able to HELP:
So this is my dilemma. I had a chicken recently start wandering into my yard. She looks exactly like this picture. I have no idea where it came from because we do not have any chicken coops on my street. I own a small business of rental/motel cabins located on my property and one of my regular guests has named her Ruby. She popped in and out for a couple of days. Now, she is staying and sleeping in one of the trees. My random guests started feeding her. Now, I find myself giving her canned corn, raisins, suet and wheat bread. Some guests have even bought chicken feed at the local feed store. The problem is that I am in northern Michigan. Our temps right now are low 30's during the day and 20's at night. 1-3 inches of snow predicted by Friday. Our typical winters often reach 20 below zero actual. There are some farms in the area that may be more equipped, but I've grown a bit fond of her. We have large droves of turkey that go through regularly, but this is the first chicken.
Of course I am worried about the weather, her nutrition, and her social and mental state. Her health & happiness is very important to me. I know at one point she will likely be slaughtered and that is really bugging me to the point of no sleep. However, she can't be happy now alone like this without other chickens and without a warm well-lit coop which I don't want to build because of my business. Any advice, ideas or opinions would be greatly appreciated. I am an unselfish lady and an animal lover and will do what is best for Ruby.7 -
I'm back! I went to a naturopath and feel much better. She gave me some digestive enzymes, just to help with the uncomfortable and heavy feeling I've been having lately and the enzymes are definitely helping. I am waiting for the results of the food allergy test and when those results come back in a couple of weeks, I am going to go over the results with the nutritionist and make a game plan on what to do. I am also going to see my PCP this Friday just to make sure there isn't anything more, but based on the fact I am starting to feel better with the enzymes I definitely believe there are food allergy/sensitivity issues.
11/4--218.4 Joined the gym last week and started Strong Curves. Went to the gym this morning and did W4D2 of c25k yesterday. Going out to dinner tonight and then taking my MIL to see Joan Baez in concert. My MIL loves Joan Baez.
