To gain a pound of fat you need to eat 3500 calories over maintenance, not just over your MFP calorie goal. One or two bad days of eating doesn't make you fat, one or two good days of eating doesn't make you thin, it's what you do most of the time that matters.[/quote]

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. On the other hand when I look at the big picture and the averages it has been a consistent loss except for two rounds. Round 53 was my 50 birthday celebrations that upped my weight for a few days.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

11/04-199.8 lbs. Went to the gym. Came back weighing 196.4lbs after walking running 5 miles. Treated myself to poppers and fried mushrooms and still managed to stay close to my calorie goal.
11/05-197.4 lbs. Notes for today? None really. I'm eating my regular eats. Yesterday I went over by 35 calories but I've done much worse. I haven't gone to the gym today but I have a fitness assessment at 11 so I have to go anyway at some point. Planning on pizza tonight.

11/4 131.0 I have not been drinking enough water the last couple of days. Cooler temps (yesterday a high of 80) make it more difficult for me to remember.
11/5 130.0 Got in almost 3 qts of water. Made a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich (on keto 90 second bread with almond flour) at 11AM and wasn’t hungry all day. Needed more protein so had a Premier Protein shake at 8PM. Meeting Amy at the gym at 2.

11/04 - Sunday - 179.6 - NSV on Saturday - went to moms to clean and help her unpack. She wanted to order from the pizza place (she has healthy habits so tends to use me as an excuse to "celebrate") but I said no thanks and had tuna and a salad! Then on Sunday - daylight savings morning was slow, lazy, and snuggly and I loved it. Went out running errands in the afternoon. Started a pot roast and headed out to clean up the yard. DH used to leaf blower, I raked up big piles, and we moved the tarp together for about 2 hours, but about 1 hour of active raking. I didnt eat enough protein in the day so I was super snacky after dinner but I managed to reign it in.
11/05 - Monday - 179.2 - A loss on a Monday?!!!?! Look what happens when I stay accountable on the weekends! Woohoo! Need to pick up a short list of things at the store before heading home after work. Milk, coffee, and shampoo. I want to make a crustless quiche tonight for breakfasts for the week, we got some yummy ham at the farm. Fish oil habit is coming back around and I started taking elderberry extract as everyone is sick! 10 minutes of yoga is also turning into a habit! Feels good to take care of myself!

Nutrition Plan = Continue to limit gluten, dairy, sugar, diet soda, alcohol & eat non-processed foods, protein/fruit/veg at every meal, complex carbs at breakfast and post workout meal, drink plenty of water.
11/4 = 146.6 Still sick, spent most of the day in bed yesterday, was under in calories but really only consumed soup and leftover Halloween candy, so no surprise with the scale bumping up.
11/5 = 145.4 Still not 100 % better but decided maybe if I acted well, I would feel well. It worked
I went for a run yesterday, beautiful fall weather, sunny and 51 degrees. I LOVE fall running, felt very grateful to be a runner yesterday, especially after watching the NYC marathon on TV in the morning. Shalane Flanagan is a real inspiration of mine and it was was a great day for USA women's running. Also completed the day 77 of 90 workout which was 3 sets of: Fully Extended Tuck Jump, Divebombers, Brogue Kicks, V-Up with a Twist, Sit Outs, Barrier Jump to Burpee, & Alternating Single Leg Tabletops. Overall, a really good day, so happy to be back in the swing of things with my workouts, even if my weight loss has stalled for the moment. "Never let the things you want, make you forget the things you have."

Round 54 – SW 178 lb. down to 171.8 lb. (6.2 lb. loss) This was my beginning of eating keto and tracking calories.
Round 55 – Finished at 170.0 (1.8 lb. loss)
Round 56 – Finished at 165.2 (4 lb. loss)

11/04 162.8 That’s more like it. Happy to be back for another round with all you (weight) losers! I ate about 2 cups of popcorn at the theater yesterday morning, and expected it to punish me, but I ate well the rest of the day. I was privileged to attend worship at my home church this morning! That meant missing a morning concert with my group, but I’ll be with them for two more concerts before this day ends. I’ll be on the road in a couple of hours. Thor, my GSD, and I are looking forward to a walk tomorrow morning.
11/05 162.8 I slept later than usual this morning. I stuck to low carbs yesterday, but, last night at IHOP, my sirloin steak tips (with mushrooms & onions) and spinach and broccoli sides was a larger meal than I’m used to eating. I guess it didn’t hurt me, unless it shows up tomorrow. At the moment, rain chances are low, so Thor and I are heading out for our walk.

11/04: 196.8 -- I don't know what's going on with the scale. I have not been the best with my eating, but I have still been logging and exercising like crazy. I may have been eating at maintenance at worst, but to gain over 4 lbs in 10 days??? I'm struggling with how that is possible.
11/05: 197 -- WTF. Since August, I have gained 8 lbs after losing 15. I don't know why the scale keeps climbing. Just 10 days ago I was 192 something. I can't believe how close I am again to 200 after declaring myself done with that forever. I thought about not participating in the 10 day challenge this time since it's depressing to weigh myself everyday, but I REALLY want to get a hold of this thing and turn this around. So, I will keep at it. Sorry for whining! I'm going to go to the gym at lunch today and eat within my calories.
