I went to London for the day and walked a lot. I took my lunch and treated myself to a bakery item so I'm well in the green. I did not overspend but I got the new belt I was looking for. 11 miles walking and now I'm ready for bed!

Wow! I missed two days and I was more than 100 posts behind! Lol. Guess what I'm typing this post on?!
That's right! My new laptop! Lol. I love this thing so much. I should have upgraded a long time ago. I've spent the last 2 days exploring it and adjusting settings and things. It's been so much fun!
I also got my hair done today! I look NOTHING like I used to and I love that too! Lol. I have a huge break out on my face at the moment so I'll take a picture when I actually have makeup on. Lol. Woman problems!
Matt is still not well. I called the doctor on Friday and asked what to do and he said to get Matt a probiotic, which I did but it doesn't seem to be working yet. Although he has only been taking it for 2 days. So we're still hoping it'll work. He called out from work yesterday and today and probably will tomorrow as well. It just sucks because I have no idea how to help him. Le sigh...
Thursday and Friday were terrible days food wise. Although I did got for my 4-mile walk that I hadn't done all winter so that was nice. But today was a much better day food wise. I didn't do much movement but tomorrow I am bound and determined to go to the gym! I must!
The group that I joined on Twitter has a couple of women who are also in the process of losing weight so we are all going to be each other accountable. We all started Instagrams to showcase our weight loss and things. So we're all really excited to start that.

6. Finish editing ARW
7. Fold clothes
Okay, I think I'll leave it at that for tomorrow.

aubyshortcake wrote: Β»Happy Saturday!! This week was SO busy at work, I am beat. I hope to get some things done this weekend but I also feel like I really just need some chill time. Sometimes I feel like I go too easy on myself when I say that, and that I should just be like "suck it up, you have things to do, adulting isn't easy", but I don't want to burn myself out on life either, so I often feel conflicted.
I can totally relate to this, it's how I feel pretty much every weekend!!!
Lately I've been trying to strike a balance and get SOME things done, but also allow time for chilling and fun as well.
I find that making a plan for the weekend on a Thursday / Friday night helps - I look at my list and decide which things I NEED to do, and which things I can put off to give me more time for myself.
I think striking a balance is important. If we spend all our spare time 'doing' we end up exhausted. But also, if we spend all our time 'not doing' then the 'to do' pile keeps growing and that isn't good either! (Partly because of the stress that comes with a growing backlog!) So it's finding a balance between those two things.
And also, what also helps is deciding which things just don't need doing at all because actually, they are not a priority. I have decided that vacuuming my flat basically falls into this category. I'll do it when we have guests, or if it gets REALLY disgusting.... But otherwise, I just don't care3 -

So everyone appears to be over the illness.
Yet i still wake up to the dog with a snapped dew claw (thumb claw?)
Yay.
Feel like tearing my hair out. Cant even afford the vet bill today.
He doesnt seem to be in pain atm, the vet said it would be pretty painful though.
But hes not limping or whining and hes able to sleep. So just tied a sock around it for now to stop him licking it to prevent infection.
Literally feel like walking out the house for the day. Honestly dont think i can take anymore.6 -

Good morning! Today is day one on MFP (this time). I have never gotten involved in the communities, so giving it a shot this time. Total transparency, I started this journey when I hit 408.5 pounds. I ended up needing surgery for something else, but everybody was afraid to do surgery because of my weight. It was scary and eye-opening. It is definitely time to do something. So this is where Iβm starting. Today I will to log everything. I gave up soda about 1 month ago.
Question, I keep seeing that people say they are going to stay in the green. What does that mean?3 -

2. WRITE THE DAMN ESSAY.
3. Visit with in-laws.
4. Park run: 6 miles.
5. Balance work. Therapy exercises: lunges, push-ups, calf raises. Gratitude journal. Meds. Floss, rinse, brush teeth. In bed by 8:45; devices off by 9:00. Alarm set for 5:50 AM.
Scale goalsEnd of 2017: 174.6
End of 2018: 189.2
January 2019: 186.0
February 2019: 187.0
Today: 193.2
Ongoing plans/ideas behind the cut1. Purchases: Go to Mac store and see if they can retrieve the files off the iMac. Look for an "ugly Christmas sweater" and a long-haired doll at thrift stores. Practice French braiding. Go to used bookstore and look for Design for How People Learn (Julie Dirksen), On Writing (Stephen King), Dying for a Paycheck (Robin Hardman), The Prince (tr. Tim Parks, Russell Price, or Robert Adams), The Secret Adversary (Christie). Add lamp and wobble board to grocery list.
2. E2: What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Create vocabulary lists for each unit that come from the texts used: Animal Farm, Julius Caesar, Wes Moore, I Am Malala. Find a way to incorporate changing words from one part of speech to another. Students need to know how to review multiple sources and synthesize information in order to draw a conclusion. Need practice with the difference between transitions and overlapping (at end of paragraph - "another issue is Y" vs "there are other issues besides X"). Quit using "in conclusion" and "I believe" and other writing-about-my-writing phrases. Confusion between direct/indirect objects and prepositional phrases. Use the UDHR and the Declaration of Independence to study paraphrasing; use that to front-load Machiavelli and how to deal with challenging texts. Confusion between everyday / every day and similar constructions.
3. E1: Need practice with quoting & paraphrasing sources, identifying claims that would need support, use of last names for reference, and capitalization practice (common/proper nouns, titles). Difficulty using possessive nouns in their own writing. Honors: practice subject/object pronouns (my friend and I / my friend and me). Poetry: Revise "Songs are Poetry" handouts.
4. Curriculum Development: Writing mini-unit. Review scholarly research on 5PE. (I think I can have this as an intro to the research unit so that they also get exposure to how quotes are integrated and cited.) Parallel structure; use of emotional language, specific detail. Use "Write About a Pebble" lesson from Atwell. How long should each unit take? Do research on characteristics: curiosity, persistence, resilience, creativity, responsibility, optimism, courage, integrity, authenticity, leadership, self-awareness, humility, compassion - others? Include grammarly check on essays! Review assessments. What is the purpose for each unit? What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options.
5. Professional Development: Write blog post weekly. Comment on 3 posts each week -Tu Th Sun? Check with PSC. Talk with Z about articles and/or conference proposals.
6. Medical: Apr 25 Dentist. Apr 22 McC. Call to set up checkups with Dass (October). GET MAGAZINES FOR COLLAGES FROM DOCTORS.
7. Theater: Audition for Mamma Mia ??? Need sub for May 2, opening day.
8. House: Mineral oil on tile spots. Check with D about ceiling.
9. Fun: Open beading on Thursdays. May 4 is SW Day and FCB Day. Coloring at library on Tuesday.
WFTY: Climbing. SO MUCH FAIL. Not giving up. I feel like there's something wrong with me, though. I've had essay stuff on my to-do list but I've kept putting it off and now it's DUE TONIGHT and I'm finally puttering around on it. UGH.
Positive thought: I have people who support me even when I feel like I can't do anything right.2 -
