Weekly Weigh-In = When I'm active I eat back calories. My weaknesses: I love food... my sweet tooth, especially chocolate... portion control... FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). Saturday a.m. weigh-in is my MFP logging day, and I peek occasionally other days. My digital scale only shows half pound increments & I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale. No goal dates set ~ this is not a diet but my lifestyle.

    Age 61, 5'4.5"
    GW #1: 150 in a livable way = It's. Not. A. Diet.
    GW #2: 145 normal BMI
    UG maintain: 145 - 150 [Need to be realistic! Revised from 140 - 145]

11/5/15 = 195.0 joined MFP with no real plan except It's. Not. A. Diet.
1/10/17 = 185.5 clearly not a regular on MFP / joined JFT, best group ever!
5/31/17 = 180.5 two end of month celebrations / committed to posting weekly weigh-in
    06/03 = 177.5
    06/10 = 179.5 pre-10K spaghetti supper night before
06/17 = 179.5 numerous meals away from home, several occasions w/ alcohol, happy no gain
06/24 = 178.0 fluctuated during week, but ended ok
07/01 = 176.0 Yay!!! Achieved June goal to stay <180

08/05 = 174.5 dined out for Girls Day Out & ate Dad's cooking & baking
08/12 = 173.5 scale flirted with even lower numbers on daily weigh-ins
08/19 = 173.5 had couple of high calorie days
    08/26 = 172.0 kind of a surprise
09/02/17 = 170.0 Woohoo! Officially overweight, not obese
    09/09 = 171.5 backsliding, ack!
09/16 = 169.5 yay, the middle number is a six!
09/23 = 168.5 have lots challenges in upcoming week

10/28 = 164.5 very active week & watched CICO / reached October goal of 165
11/04 = 163.0 wow, really surprised at this, daily fluctuations very up and down this week
11/11 = 164.5 this is temporary b/c very high sodium yesterday
11/18 = 162.0 big surprise, especially b/c I weigh myself daily and didn't see this all week
11/25 = 163.0 no surprise after 2 no-logging-food days (parade day and Thanksgiving), just glad not worse
    12/02 = 161.0 Jingle Bell 5K day / 44:37 chip time & ave. pace 14:22 & very happy!
12/09/17 = 158.5 surprised to say the least / first time in 10 years my weight is 1-5-anything!

02/24 = 154.0 little out of control last week, but at goal for the month
    03/03 = 155.5 oops / still lower than before I was sick
    03/10 = 153.5 back on track

My goal yesterday was to log everything I ate✅ It wasn’t pretty but I did it. Goal for today: log everything again and get a HIIT workout in even if it’s a 5 minute one on YouTube!

logging the worst is always the best thing, it means your staying true to journey you have to accept is and downs!

although I don't log in my birthday LOL that number isn't worth thinking about

So JFT - Wednesday January 2nd
    2L of water
    Calories in Green
    Walk 1 Mile
    5 Fruits and Veggies
    Write in Journal
Do not disappoint myself, be conscious of my choices.

Well yesterday was really off track food wise, but I had fun with just Michaela for a little bit while Rodger, Ryan and Jonah went to a movie. Jonah had asked for 3 tickets to see the new Spider-Man. Santa left them at our house for him. 🙂. I decided to drive into the city to meet Rodger so we could do something on the way home. I wanted to go to Michael’s to have a look at things for my Cricut. I told Michaela what we were doing and she was so excited. She said “I get Nutcracker” (she is obsessed and has 2 larger ones and a set of 6 tree ornaments). I told her no that she has Nutcrackers. She says, “not in my hands”! We got to Michael’s and were both disappointed to find them closed.

I did nothing last night except binge watch the Big Bang Theory season that has aired so far. Today I am off to return some pjs I bought Rodger for Christmas, stopping at Michaels. Then the kids come today. I also need to buy a birthday gift for Michaela and possibly make a cake. She will be 3 tomorrow.

Plans for tonight to keep busy and avoid snacking: clean pantry out and chuck out ‘junk’ food.

    Good start 👍👍

Great start!! That is what I plan on doing today .... get rid of the last of the junk food!

I'm responding with one big SWOOP!!!

@slittlemeister Glad to see you on here---and you can do this! 12 lbs can seem monumental when you are close to your maintenance goal. But I am in the same boat and hope to lose the same before I consider if I am at maintenance. Hopefully, we can inspire each other!

@PackerFanInGB Yea! You are back for another year! Let's hope/pray for one that is less painful for you!!!
You are here because you haven't given up and wow! that's huge. Your determination is going to pay off---not to mention you are an inspiration to others! Peace and joy

@sarah74_vt It's always so nice to be able to count on someone being there---that person is you for JFT.
You are always calm, positive, and present, and I can rely on seeing your post each time I come on here.
I hope this will be a successful year for you and that you will get to drink lots of diet cokes :) Onward!

@mytime6630 A huge and hearty thank you for starting a new thread! It's so good to be able to put the past behind us and a new thread is like having a new start. Press forward! I hope you continue to make great strides in your physical fitness.

@snowflake1968 Great quote---contentment is an ongoing process for me in many areas of my life. Thanks for sharing it!

@Bex953172 You had the dam break at the end of the year. And yet you are still on here encouraging others as well as showing that spirit of determination you have. I know you feel the love that folks have for you. We are rallying around you---even if it is a virtual rally there is lots of emotion behind it!

@maryrobinson40 Here we go for another round! So glad you returned and look forward to your continued and enthusiastic cheers while we make this journey together. Keep pressing on!

@time2change1111 Wow! You have started off on a great note! Way to conquer your JFT goals. And I like how you are being proactive about avoiding snacks. Keeping busy/distracted always helps :) Keep going! Joy and Peace.

@Faebert You are an inspiration for me. You encourage me to keep on this journey and that THIS TIME I will be able to maintain. It's good that you are gearing up for your mil. And that you understand the reasons behind her behavior. I think when we are able to see the person's point of view we can be more empathetic and patient. I hope you enjoy the time with her :)

@HEGoddard0928 So glad you are going to have your work buddy back! Re: the dishes...there's always that one chore we hate...while your husband is off work could he tackle this task, or use the time as a way to do something together?

@UTMom81 Greetings! It's great to see that you are putting the brakes on and working to return to your maintenance weight. That is very encouraging and I hope to do the same when I get there! This is a good place to be accountable and we will all root for you as you get closer to your birthday goal!

@losingit4G Good for you coming back here and good that you made your JFT goal!! Fantastic. Come back tomorrow and let us know how you did!

@Elbee1 So good to see you coming back! So sorry about your daughter---being far away at times like this is hard. We are in the same situation---we live in Idaho while our four kids are in the OK/TX area.

@NewCreationmfp Greetings and welcome! This is a great group for encouragement. We have all started the umpteenth time. But the fact that you have not given up is a win for you. Keep coming back! Peace and joy!

what a effing day I had!
we had BAILIFFS at the door because of ONE missed payment for a Driving Ticket (we accidentally drove in a bus lane for about 5 seconds) £25 in the first 2 weeks, £50 after that, we missed thst and they escalated it to the courts so a 25 pound fine is now £150. we set up the payment plan, made first payment, missed the second payment by 3 days and today bailiffs show up asking for £370 within 2 hours or cars being clamped and seized.
I told my partner and he grabbed his keys and drove off! ecen though his hand is messed up, I'm bloody crying, the enforcer saying he's going to be arrested! the girls and dog was watching from the front window (mummy why did that man want daddys car) she found it funny LOL.
so anyway turns out he just hid the car LOL hid it! and then came back to sort it with the enforcer, my dad paid it for us, he didnt have the money so is up the creek himself but he wouldn't see us with no car for something so silly.

tl;dr - Someone tried to take the car, my partner went berserk and hid it.

And he's not eligible for disability?
    it's actually laughable now.

atleast I can say my life isnt boring!!

Wow! That is harsh! Here if you don’t pay your fines, you can’t register your vehicle when it is up for renewal each year. It’s always a challenge to know how much you will need to walk into the registry office with. I hope you get a break soon you sure deserve it.

    Greetings, Fellow Sojourners!

    What's the Good Word??!!

How exciting is this?!! We have a clean new page!

We all have found "helps" along the way that keep us on track. If you have something that helped you to lose weight or even to grow spiritually, physically, and emotionally this past year, share! share! share!

Last January when I began this journey I pondered about a word that would serve as an inspiration, motivator, and an encourager to help me succeed. My word became two: "Stand Firm" Stand firm when I am tempted. Stand Firm when I am emotional and the food beckons. Stand Firm when I don't see results on the scales.

I then found scripture and quotes that related to the word and wrote them in the front of my journal.

I posted these two words on my cabinet doors so that they were the first thing I'd see when I opened the door.

I think that this year's word is going to be Perseverance. I've come so far this past year (thanks in part to this fantastic support group)---and it is the first time I was able to keep going for one whole year. But I have more I want to do to make me the best me possible.

what a effing day I had!
we had BAILIFFS at the door because of ONE missed payment for a Driving Ticket (we accidentally drove in a bus lane for about 5 seconds) £25 in the first 2 weeks, £50 after that, we missed thst and they escalated it to the courts so a 25 pound fine is now £150. we set up the payment plan, made first payment, missed the second payment by 3 days and today bailiffs show up asking for £370 within 2 hours or cars being clamped and seized.

Oh, Bex, it is a deluge at your place. So very sorry.

Haha dont worry everyone, we have finalised our plan for moving out and getting things paid, we've both really bucked up, we were both living on autopilot and now we're in full gear and ready to MAKE the change in our lives rather than wishing omit.

I learnt something very weird, fearing something only makes the problem worse. Fearing I'm losing my house means I'm out of control, when actually I have lots of options, yeah its rubbish but we needed to go anyway so why am o scared?
so I'm not afraid anymore, I'm not afraid of losing stuff along as I have my family and friends, Im not afraid of people I'm just... not afraid. I feel like I can conquer anything without fear!

I'm wondering if I can apply that to this journey!
