My 26th round!
OSW: 186 (March 2018)
UGW: 144-146
Pre challenge weight loss: -12 lbs.
Challenge weight loss R40 – R64: -29 lbs
My tax season starts this round which means I'll be working weekends and roughly 12 hours a day. Clients bring us goodies and the owner of the CPA firm often buys us lunch and dinner. I'm going to use this round to figure out exactly how to maintain my weight while being tempted by donuts, cookies, pizza, etc. It's almost as bad as the holidays!

Day/Weight/Comment
01/13 - 144 - I'm very surprised! Due to my sodium yesterday and today, I'll bet it goes up tomorrow, but I'm very happy today. I've also got my lunch and healthy snacks packed for tomorrow.
01/14 - 146 - Here's the sodium! I'll be drinking plenty of water today.
01/15 - 147 - Wow, I did not want to post this, but facing this is what has kept me on track the last 8 months. My daughter stopped by last night so I had an extra glass of wine with her and I ate leftovers from Sunday for dinner, which did not help with my water weight. I have supper plans with my my golf league tonight at an Italian restaurant, so tomorrow is probably not going to be any better. But, it is my last night out with the ladies until tax season is over in April, so I'm going to go and enjoy myself. I'll just have to work really hard this next week to get my weight back down.
01/16 - 146.5 - I had a great time last night and managed to stay just under maintenance calories for the day.
01/17 - 145.5 - I slept well last night and got plenty of water yesterday.

Not a thing is better than those girls
1/14=191.7 Oh No not another plateau! I hope to get over this multiple day weight. Calories under, water& exercise good.
We also have snow & that is ok but the temps are too low(20's).This is normal western Pa.weather. We have been spoiled so far,so no complaing from me,at least not yet.
1/15=190.6 OK. More like I had hope&worked for
1/16=190.3 good day yesterday, today should good as well bc 3 water classes. So much fun &always a good calorie burner.
1/17=190.1 better get to Y today bc 2 winter storms approach.today is Bone broth day which usually helps the loss.If you haven't read &/or made bone broth please do,does sound kinda yucky but it is really tasty & nutritious.)long&tedious but worth it.I use the rotisserie chicken after using the meat the previous day. Give it a try.

Heaviest Weight: 201
Goal weight 125-135
1/1 174
1/13 168.6 (hope this new back injury from work --I think flare up from the old work back injuries-- I don't know-- doesn't cause fluid weight AND slow me down!!! No stress eating allowed..I DO have a positive, hopeful attitude to get this weight loss done!!
1/14 167.8 doing tumeric, lemon, a/b 800 mg sodium for my back--happy weight still decreased in spite of injury-stuck to calories yesterday--getting back to where I ended last round. One meal at end of round #64 and was outside calories and sodium. I knew it would take a few days to come back down. I wish you could pay ahead-then have the meal, ha ha. I may not do that after this round or be within calories at least. Depends if I meet my goal at the end I think.
1/15 167.8 back improving, but I can see that I am retaining water. Will be patient and keep doing the right things. You all inspire me!
1/16 167.6 had to eat majority of calories late in day.ate some junk.Still in range! water11 cups.
1/17 167.6 candy called my name and I accepted it last night. well need to stay away from the local pharmacy when feeling vulnerable. There is always junk on sale there. I went in to get a pack of almonds, ha ha.Boy.I threw out the rest of candy this am. That is a victory that it lasted until this am and then I threw it down the sink. Thanks for inspiring me to do so!

Jumped up 3+ lbs yesterday ... so I'm frustrated but moving forward with positive thoughts and actions today.
My goal for 2019 is to get into ONEderland. Changing my life.
R65 my focus will be to not break my tracking streak since 12/28 and being active every day in some way shape or form! Get up out of the chair from work, reading or tv and MOVE! Goal is to reach 240-241 and make it stick.
SW: 245 (R63 starting 12/30/2018)
End R63: 245 (0 loss; lowest 244.4 & avg 244.7 over the 4 days)
End R64: 243.3 (-1.1 loss; lowest 243.3 & avg 243.3 over 7 WI days; 3 days no scale available)
1/13 - 243.3 - @ Camp no scale; using WI from 1/10 for start of this round. 17 day tracking streak! Yesterday walked the nearby county park and gardened. Long drive home today. Need to watch the snacking, fast food, drink plenty of water and walk this evening.
1/14 - 244.1 - Up a little after the weekend at fishing camp which is not a surprise but I was so much more in control. Less snacking, less alcohol. Could have moved more. And then when returned home my sister made sodium laden red beans and rice. Lots of water to offset.
1/14 - 243 - Couldn't believe the scale this morning so hoped back on again at 10am. It looks like it was a fluke earlier. I wish it was always that easy to drop.
1/15 -242.3 - Drinking water, cut back on alcohol, less snacking, less sitting more standing/walking.
1/16 - 240.7 - Changing my daily routine! “You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine. - John C. Maxwell”
1/17 - 243.2 - Yesterday … Oh boy oh boy oh boy. Stressful day at work. No snacking but challenges. Large spaghetti at lunch. Salad at book club but with 2 glasses of wine. Not enough water all day. Positive: walked 1+ miles in the rain to burn off some of the stress. Not once but twice!

14/01 Very active weekend, 30000 steps, 2 hours of Rowing, Strength Training and some Yoga. Ate reasonably well. Not aching quite as much this week so hopefully start to see some of my calorie deficit reflected on the scale at some point.
15/01 Up early to go to the work gym this morning before rowing around 6.5km on the nice calm waters of the River Lee. Goals for today are to get some yoga done before bed and to make sure I go buy lunch for the rest of the week from the supermarket, not the deli next door that I have to call in to, to talk about a raffle prize - wish me luck with my willpower!
16/01 Over my calories again yesterday (but in a deficit still) as I was ravenous from rowing/weight training. I have Pole Class tonight and will be walking in/out of walk, which is about 7km altogether, so a reasonably active day ahead. Dinner is in the fridge ready to be re-heated.
17/01 2nd Pole Class over and done, felt far less clumsy and a bit more composed, still had to modify some of the exercises but I'll get there eventually. Shark Week is on it's way so feeling rather bloaty, going to try and cut down on added sugar a bit in the next few weeks, not because there's anything wrong with sugar, just need to curb some calories and that's the easiest place for me to cut it from at the moment. I was out for another row this morning which was lovely especially with the crisp clear sky and sunrise. Goal for today is to stay under maintenance and do some yoga.

01/13 - 250.4
01/14 - 248.8 - Whoomp! There it is! This was the lowest weight I got down to last year in May before I quit trying because "I wasn't losing weight fast enough". So I gained almost all of it back. Doesn't make any sense, does it? lol
01/15 - 249.8 - I'm happy with this. Still technically in the 240s! I'm puffy this morning so this is probably water retention. Stuck to calorie limit yesterday but had a later dinner. No LNS. Also, I had red meat the night before for dinner and that seems to stay in my system longer.
01/16 - 251.8 - I did really well yesterday - would've been slightly under my 1650 goal but I lost the plot after dinner while making John's lunch for work today. (3120 total for the day) It's just food weight and will be gone again soon. IF I behave myself!
01/17 - 251.8 - LNS stress eating - lowered daily calorie goal to 1500 this morning. I'm eating too many bread carbs instead of veggie & fruit carbs.

I’m 42 and have been on a diet since I was 20. I was fit and lean most of my 20’s and the weight crept up after having kids. Then I didn’t feel I had time to take care of me. I’ve decided it benefits my whole family for me to take care of me so here I am, more determined than ever!
Challenge History:
Round 64 SW: 223.4 EW: 221.6
Round 65 goals:
1. Continue habits built during Round 64
2. Drink at least 8 cups of water per day.

1/13- I took the day off from the scale
1/14- 222- 🤷🏼♀️
1/15- 224.4-went over calories. Have a UTI and am now on antibiotic. Blah. Who knows if this is why I gained or if it’s the dinner I ate (lots of sodium). I seriously doubt I suddenly gained 2lbs.

This round will be rough for me because it’s my birthday on 1/16 and I have plans all week with friends - none of which are conducive to dieting... I plan to continue weighing in, hope to exercise, drink lots of water and eat light when I can. We’ll see how it goes!
Day/Weight/Comment
01/13 - No Scale
01/14 - Forgot to weigh
01/15 - 189.7- I gained some weight from my trip, but I know it’s just water weight. I didn’t eat a ton of food, but I did eat carbs after quitting carbs for 2 weeks.
01/16 - 188.2 - Well okay! Fasted for 21 hours yesterday, accidentally. I have some birthday celebrations planned so that might make me go back up tomorrow. We’ll see!
01/17 - 189.5 - Chicken wings and two beers are the culprit here. They were good though!

Day/Weight/Comment
01/13 190 - I’m getting back into the swings of things again by cutting out sugar & processed junk.
01/14 188 - I’m starting the day out right with some black coffee & I'm looking forward to the gym this afternoon.
01/15 185 - This week & this challenge are starting out well. I’m very pleased! No gym yesterday as I feel run down, like I’m fighting a cold. I’ve decided to pay close attention to my eating & listen to my body.
01/16 185 - No change today but I am at least feeling a little better. I think the Zicam & rest are helping. I need to drink more water as I am relying on coffee & tea a bit too much during these last few cold days.
01/17 187 - Not sure what I did “wrong” other than I had more water yesterday but maybe a bit too much sodium.. ? .. time to tighten up a bit more & trust the process.

Goals for Round 65 -

* Run 7 days above 2.5 miles
* Add 5 days of weight workouts
* Get to and stay under 200!!!
1/13 - 203.1 (1,387 calories, 10,692 steps): Solid day. Tracked all food. Stayed away from the dinner/night binge. A little too high on the carbs which showed blood glucose in the 140-150 range for long periods of the day. Did not workout so I need to improve there. Better things for today!
1/14 - 204.3 (way too high on the calories, and way too low on the steps): The dinner/night binge got me. I'll get it today. Going for a perfect day today! Good luck to everyone.
1/15 - 202.8 (~1,900 calories, 8,647 steps): Back in the right direction. Decent day. Need to get my treadmill game back on. Will try to get on it tonight or get a long walk in while waiting for kid's activities. Keep the momentum going.
1/16 - 200.7 (~1,600 calories, 17,564 steps): A good day. Got in a 30 minute and 50 minute brisk walk. Need to get back on the treadmill and hit the weights again. Received my A1C results which were 6.2%. My doctor will be happy, but I want to get it under 6. A new 3 month goal for A1C. Glad to see the scale go in the down direction. Good luck to everyone as we hit the hump of the 10 day challenge!!!
1/17 - 202.3 (did not track all calories, 11,417 steps): The slice of pizza got me! The one thing I was proud is that it was only one slice, and not 3-4. Keep on, keeping on. Here is to a good day for everyone!15 -

Round 65 SW: 216.4
1/13—216.6—Excellent. I was afraid yesterday's number was a fluke and that I'd bounce way high again. Yesterday, at the very end of round 64, I managed 31 push ups. I'm nearly 1/3 of the way to my end of year goal of being able to do 100 push ups in a single set. Losing more weight would likely help me with that goal!
1/14—219—Least shocking spike ever. I didn't eat well yesterday but had a true salt fest.
1/15—217—It'd be interesting to see where this number would be if I could stop eating salt-laden snacks. Bah!
1/16—218.4—I have no explanation other than a slightly earlier weigh-in. Huh! Still, I'm feeling pretty good.
1/17—218.2—Hmm hmm hmm. This round has been a puzzle. Work is very hectic right now, but I like being busy. I'm not eating terribly, but it's not spectacular either.

I've decided to stop obsessing about calories, at least for this round, and to focus on macros (approx. 20% P, 30% F, 50% carbs, mostly veggies, fruit, and whole grains) plus exercise, meditation, fun, community, and sleep. Although I'd like to weigh about 10-12 pounds less, I'm at a healthy weight and feel good, so as maintenance or slow loss, I'm happy either way.
01/14 - 140 - 1706
Sodium yesterday, and not enough water. Back on track today.
01/15 - 139.2 - 1691
Yesterday was a good day. I was on track with food, although my macros were off (too much fat, not enough veggie carbs), and I had a great 90 minute workout at the Y - walking, weights, bike. I love the Precor video bikes - I rode up a mountain in the Italian Alps! I'm making gluten free crab cakes for lunch -- mmmmmm!
01/16 - 138.2 - 1701
That's better. I ate responsibly yesterday and did an hour+ on the bike.
01/17 - 139 - 1724
I'm sticking to my exercise program, but not so much to my calorie goals. I clearly reset my sugar cravings over the holidays! But I'm working on it....and today is a new day. Reset!

Day/Weight/Comment
01/13 - 203.7 (5839 steps) – Today is my 1st full day here in this challenge. Didn’t make it to the barn to ride yesterday. We got lots of snow. Zero structure to my day. Could have been a potential problem. I had 2 meals still leftover from last week’s meal prep so, I used those for lunch/dinner. Rode the recumbent bike in the living room for a total of 50 mins (10.05 miles). Still allowed myself room to have a pint of Halo Top.
01/14 – 204.8 (6813 steps) – Sundays are the laziest day of my week. This was no different. We got 3” of snow and I did NOT want to leave the house. I slept in late and was a couch potato. I stayed in the green with my calories and even did 37 mins (7.77 miles) on the bike. I was able to meal prep lunch/dinner for the work week. Hopefully leaving on Friday for weekend in KY with my Mom.
01/15 – 203.5 (7480 steps) – I ate all 3 of my meals at work yesterday seeing as I had to work a 10 hour day. It felt better to have dinner consumed BEFORE I got on the road for my hour drive home, plus 2 errands to run in the middle. I wasn’t tempted for a quick drive-by dinner or crappy quick meal when I got home (at 7:30pm). Win! I squeezed in 33 mins on the bike (6.9 miles) before hitting the sack. All in all it was a good day.
01/16 – 203.5 (6788 steps) – Successful food planning at work yesterday, despite the stress & chaos. Logged all 3 of my meals before I even ate them. No cravings when I got home. No mindless snacking. Rode the bike while watching NCAA basketball (45 mins – 9.61 miles). This weekend is going to be tough. Going out of town to my Aunt/Uncle’s house in KY and just found out there was a death in my Aunt’s family today so, there will be LOTS of company and food while we are there. This will be my first “test” since starting over.
01/17 – 203.3 (7084 steps) – Yesterday was a very long and stressful day at work. It wasn’t until after 8pm last night that I was able to write my comments. I didn’t snack or over eat. I stuck to my plan and ate the meals that I had prepped for work. 40 minutes on the bike (8.58 miles), some reading & visiting with my parents, then off to bed. Off to KY tomorrow morning. Not sure I’ll get to do a full update or weigh-in but I’ll be stopping by to read everyone’s posts.

JANUARY GOALS: Lose 10 pounds and 3 inches
01/13 ~ 223.0 @ 8:00am - Off to a good start!
01/14 ~ 222.2 @ 6:00am – yayyy, but also kinda skeptical ~ I keep looking over my shoulder for all the chips this weekend, lol ~ I did however, SLEEEEP for a solid 10 hours which I haven't done in months. Have a great week Fit Fam!!
01/15 ~ 223.8 @ 6:45am - been eating pretty lightly past few days so hoping it's just remnants from a heavy meat dinner last night. Ate and went to bed late, so thinking my body didn't have enough time to "clean sweep" so to speak. If I'm right should see a drop tomorrow. 🤞
01/16 ~ 223.0 @ 6:45am - 🙏 ~ back on track, but uuggghhh can still feel and see it in my belly. And even though was well within calories, all those Terra Blues Chips and red meat the past few days have turned into a 2-day set back and another lesson learned. Will definitely think twice next time!
01/17 ~ 219.0 !!!!! @ 5:30am - almost fainted.

@FarmerCarla, it's a tough challenge, but I keep surprising myself with my progress. And there's something cool to me about pushups. I also bought this t-shirt to commemorate my progress because it makes me laugh (and I have a lot of T-Rex shirts because I always joke that I have short, stubby T-Rex arms).
I am tempted by the push up stands. I do feel some twinging in one of my wrists when I do a workout. But I've read it may make shoulder problems a little worse, and my left shoulder is finicky. Please let me know what you think about them! (Anyone welcome/invited to respond!)8 -

Start Weight on 1st Jan '19
Starting - 158.50lb
End R64 - 154.90lb - Down 3.60lb
Into it properly this round! Went swimming today and they were running a free NHS health check. Blood pressure, LDL, HDL and total cholesterol and my blood sugars were all well within the "excellent" range and they gave me a heart age of 40 and a less than 1% risk of a heart attack in the next 10 years so I was very happy with the results. Only thing I hit amber on was my BMI which I knew and it annoyed me being the only marker not in green! So feeling fired up to get it back into the green. Also booked our summer holiday this week so a bit more motivation there!
R65 goal - will be happy with 1.50lb a round - so 153.40lb is my target...
01/12 - 154.90
01/13 - 153.60 - down 1.3lb - just from having a proper controlled day and a bit of exercise (swimming yesterday - about 40 minutes) - Sunday today so a bigger dinner (albeit within calories) but all good so far
01/14 - 152.10lb down 1.50lb. Can't remember the last time I had a loss over a weekend so happy about that! Onwards and downwards..... Exceeded my round goal already so now aiming to just keep losing - difficult to set targets when only just back into it properly as losses are normally accelerated so as long as the weight keeps coming off then its all good. Good day planned today, dinner already in the slow cooker - Love the feeling of being back in control
01/15 - 151.30 down 0.8lb so -3.6lb this round so far. I know this can't carry on at this rate but certainly a great boost to start me off. My day is planned food wise so I'm happy Still have my end of round goal as to lose a bit more and keep heading down!
01/16 - 151.20 down 0.1lb - a tiny drop today. Not unexpected that it will start to slow. But I know I was on plan yesterday but did have more carbs in my dinner last night than I would do normally (and feeling bloated today as a result!) so possibly just due to that. All good though
01/17 - 151.80 up 0.6lb ????? no idea, not as a result of my calorie intake so not worried. Guess my body adjusting to the pretty large weight loss over the last week... Watch this space as they say

01/13 - 189.5- didn’t make the best food choices before bedtime. Bread at dinner seem to really mess with my morning weight. Also ate Ben and Jerry’s right before my eating time was over..
01/14 - 189.5 more bad choices. I need to keep track of food again. I was trying to do this without tracking but I need the accountability
01/15 - 187! I kept to my calories and NO SUGAR SWEETS!
01/16 - 186.5 loving this program. I’m not even hungry on off hours anymore!
01/17 - 188 hmm.. I actually didn’t eat enough yesterday and felt sick this morning. Not sure how this number came up. Won’t let it get me down. I hope to be at 185 by 1/22!

Another tick in the right direction although with it being -22 this morning getting to 10,000 steps with my office job might be a bit of an ask. That temp is too cold for me to do my waking loop. My gym at work does have a treadmill though so I might give that a go.13 -

1/12 - 173.2 - 29g carbs, 23g net carbs. 19g carbs, 14g net carbs. Forgot to update carbs yesterday before posting.
1/13 - 175.2 - 21g carbs 17g net carbs.
Two higher carb days in a row. I don't fast on Sabbath. Sometimes I eat more food, sometimes I eat later in the day.
1/14 - 176.2 - Really holding the fluid today. Late dinner, late exercise, unplanned snacking. 63g carbs, 57g net carbs. Carbs were: black truffle & olive oil kettle chips, ( They were calling me and I answered. Lol. I ate them instead of going to bed, but they satisfied my need for crunch and high flavor! So, well worth the carbs and fluid retention), peanut butter, spinach, salad, turkey kielbasa. On track today.
1/15 - 173.2 - 18g carbs, 15g net carbs. Carbs were: spaghetti squash, spinach, turkey kielbasa.
1/16 - 173.8 - 41g carbs, 17g net carbs. Carbs were: black walnuts, cauliflower, green beans, radishes, keto seed porridge. No junk carbs, weight is up slightly because I changed my IF hours to fit the time my hunger kicks in, which is now much later in the day. So, this is my low weight after 12 hrs of fasting. My eating window starts at 4:30pm.
1/17 - 173.8 - 39g carbs, 20 net carbs. Carbs were: salad, keto seed porridge, spaghetti squash.

1/13 178.6 I’ll take it. I’ve had no power since yesterday around 1 pm. Missed the Chiefs beating the Colts! Go Chiefs!!!! Instead got a 2 mile walk in just around the neighborhood. It was beautiful. A lady stopped me to ask if I needed a ride. I thanked her for the offer, explained that I was just walking for the pleasure of it. She just nodded her head and drove off. This morning I’m going to shovel the driveway and consider that my exercising for the day. Must conserve phone power
1/14 No Scale Still now power. Used some points from all my work travel to stay at a hotel. I really needed a hot shower so I could come to work clean today! Fingers crossed the power comes back on while I'm here. There are still over 40,000 people in the greater Kansas City area without power. I know they're working on it. I did stay within calories yesterday. My only exercise was shoveling my driveway but depending on what app you believe it burned either 380 or 650. I assumed the lower number but still a good workout. My legs are sore today. I forgot to celebrate that I'm in the 170's. It's been at least 10 years since I was in the 170s. NSV due to the weather I needed to wear warm slacks and packed accordingly. When I got dressed this morning I didn't realize how long it had worn them. They're too big!!! Of course I'm stuck in them all day but it's the price of of all this and I'm happy to pull them up every time I stand up!
1/15 180.2 Up over a pound but I suspect it's that old demon sodium. I had to attend a work lunch yesterday at a Chinese restaurant. Impossible to avoid it. Good news the power is back on!!! I did not get to work out yesterday as I has planned. Dealing with house stuff and work stuff made it impossible. I'm going tonight. I have a hair appt at 5:00 so I won't be able to go until after but my body needs the workout. I've not been going over calories, but haven't been eating super healthy either. A work out and a salad will do me a world of good. I think I'll be back down to at least 179.X tomorrow. It's a roller coaster baby try to enjoy the ride.
1/16 180.2 Again but I’m pretty sure it’s still retained water. Ate within calories and got a little over an hour at the gym doing weights. Should be back on the trail today as long as it doesn’t rain.
1/17 180.0 At this point I'll be happy if I get back to where I started at this round. I guess it could be lingering sodium. I don't know. As I say every round: trust the process. I just need constant reminders. I stayed within goals and walked three miles in the freezing mist. Actually wasn't that bad. Going again tonight, I found a trail that has been cleared of snow!!! I don't have good shoes for walking in snow. Ten feet from my car my foot "broke" thru the snow. I went home with one wet cold foot HAHAHA.9 -
01/13 153lb
01/14 153lb Happy to maintain as had roast dinner yesterday.
01/15 153lb..No Idea last night had lost half a pound and I always lose 2lb overnight always..just not this time
Changes today trying a 15/9 intermittent fast Hope to squeeze in some 16/8's Using up last of my slimfast as I know now that's not the answer but I hate wasting "food". Swapped to Green tea for this week also.
01/16 153.2 urgh! But went to bed feeling sick and full realised haven't been to the bathroom in days (Ibs) so hope that is the cause, as I have been very good with diet. Keeping with yesterdays plan for the week. My tummy is massive today and I felt full despite not eating for 16 hours?
01/17 153.2 again! However I noticed I felt thinner..and my underwear wasn't leaving marks on me, so I dug out a pair of jeans that I tried on at the beginning of the year when I couldn't get them past my hips..Despite only losing 2lbs I can now get them on comfortably and do up the button (not the zip yet) I have lost 3 inches on my stomach alone. I'm thrilled.
Keep up with above plan.
