03/04 177.2I was super tired yesterday and I'm feeling like TOM is about to start. I went a smidge over calories but I got in a short walk too. I have a short week at work, which is nice. Tomorrow is my day off, but my son and I both have dentist appointments. Then I work Wednesday and get Thursday, Friday and the weekend off! I'm thinking of something fun to do on those days!
03/05 177 My son and I both have dentist appointments today, and I’m considering getting some walking in. Have a great day today!
03/06 176.4 I had a pretty good day yesterday. The dentist trip wasn't too terrible and I got in some relaxing. I was within calories, did not meet my step goal but did get in a 30 minute workout.
03/07 176.8 I got in lots of steps yesterday and did a short Walk At Home workout. It was snowing so I didn't feel like walking outside. 😆 Today I’m having lunch with my Mom and sister and taking my son to see LEGO Movie 2! I totally plan to bring my own snacks!
03/08 175.6 Happy surprise! I don't know why I'm surprised though. I've been within calories. I keep thinking I'm a about to "start" any day now, so I think that's why I'm surprised. I'm going to try and get my steps in even if it is lightly snowing! I'm so ready for it to warm up! Even my husband was saying is all we've been doing is coming home from work and having dinner, then watching TV or a movie. He's right. We could probably do a game night, which would be fun. When it warms up, we can get out more!
03/09 175.4 Nice! I’m going to go for my step goal today. And today…I’m going to try Chick Fil-A for the first time! I’ve already tracked it. Being gluten intolerant, fast food just doesn’t seem like an option so I don’t even think to try it. But I did see that they had some gluten free options. So cool! I’m excited!
03/10 175.8 Yesterday, I got some sad news. We’ve known for a while our dog was on the decline. She lived a long life, I’m thinking around 18 years. We got her before I even met my husband. And she and my son had a connection. We knew this was coming and I am sad that she is now gone, but I’m relieved that she’s no longer hurting.
Other than that, I also started. I had considered skipping weighing in for a few days, but decided against it. Time of month can bring a temporary gain, but it’s not something to stress over. So I’ll continue on logging and learning!
03/11 176.6 I think this is a combo of water weight gain and going to a movie yesterday. We saw Captain Marvel and I did bring my own snacks, but also had some popcorn too. I think I was within calories. It'll be off in a few days.
03/12 178 😱 I know I said I was going to keep logging my weight even though it was TOM but yikes!
I was within calories yesterday and I got in a workout. I need to remember this is a temporary fluctuation.
03/13 177.2 I'm back to where I started this round, but I know that this is temporary water gain. See you guys in round 71!12 -
Okay so I am back again starting afresh with my new scales. I’ve had a really rough time of it lately with my personal life and then giving up smoking (16th day of going cold turkey, whoop!) and I have just been eating terribly, now it’s time to focus on loosing weight again so here I am.
Day/Weight/Comment
03/04- 227.4- fast day today, I would like to reach 10,000steps, it’s not raining so no excuses!
03/05- 224.4 whoosh, still up 4lb since before I decided to quit smoking. Yesterday was a success in my books, 770cals in, 15800 steps, in bed by 10pm. I did struggle to get to sleep and stay asleep so feeling tired today. Today's goals are to stay under 1700cals.
03/06- 225.8- I ate very late night last night which could explain the bigger than usual gain. 8500steps, 1350cals, not enough sleep again. Today is a fast day, I want to get over 10,000 steps today x
03/07- 224.0- A good day yesterday, 11,000steps, 3200cals out, 600cals in. I feel so tired though, I was in bed at 10pm last night but yet again struggled to sleep and when I did then my 1yr old was up a lot feeling poorly bless him. This week I am averaging 6hr45min sleep which I just don't think is enough. Today my goals are to stay under my 1700cal goal, I'm not too bothered about steps but it would be nice to get above 7000, but if I need a nap whilst my baby is down il take it. Have a good day all X
03/08 - 224.8 - 12,000 steps, 3100cals out, 1550cals in. Wow got less than 6 hours sleep last night, my little man is still not quite right, at 4am he was determined to get up and out of bed. Today I am fasting and aiming for over 10,000 steps. A very veggie pasta for dinner tonight X
03/09- 222.8 - 12500steps, 3100cals out, 620cals in. Feeling tired again. Today I’m aiming to stay under 2000cals with 7000steps.
03/10- 224.2 - just shy of 6000steps, 2650cals out, 2800cals in. Urgh. Went a little overboard last night, do not feel good for it this morning. My week runs from Sunday to Saturday on my apps so my whole stats for last week were 70,000steps for the week (yay) 1400cals average a day in and 3000cals average a day out, according to Fitbit. I wouldn't take the calories burned too seriously though as they seem rather inflated but those are what my apps are telling me. A good week all in all, it would be nice if I was able to repeat it again.
03/11- 224.4 - 9300steps, 2800cals out, 2600cals in. I had another day where my eating was far from ideal, I shall have to try harder next weekend. Today is a fast day, I want to do 10,000 steps minimum today X
03/12- 224.0 - 17,500 steps, 3450cals out, 780cals in. I'll take it. Today my goal is to stay under 1900cals and to get 8000steps. Hopefully the scale will drop a little more tomorrow morning, I feel like I'm still retaining water from my terrible weekend X
03/13- 222.8- 9100 steps, 2800cals out, 1680cals in. Glad to be ending this round on a low. Today is a fast day, aiming for 10,000 or more steps. I feel really back into the swing of things after this challenge but I do want to get my weekends under control a little more.15 -
I am back for my 3rd round.
My goal is to be down 2 lbs and 7000 👣 or more each day.

03/03 - 138.4
03/04 - 136.4 (-2lb) - Off to a quick start! Must have had a light day yesterday or something so am already at goal this round... Let's see if it sticks
03/05 - 134 (-2.4lb) - Woah! OK so there's obviously some water retention/loss stuff happening here. I've gone from being out of action with a shoulder injury and eating a lot of junk, to being totally back on the wagon in terms of food and exercise in the last few days. We will wait to see how this settles over the coming week I think! Zero complaints though haha.
03/06 - 132.9 (-1.1) - The whoosh is slowing a little, which is good. I am eating between 1500-1600kcals a day, so sticking with that for now and am hoping that I'll see the loss from the last few days hold. Clearly just the dramatic change from sweets and biscuits to protein, fruit and veggies! Bye bye water weight. I'm happy though, as I gave myself a goal of 128lb for mid-April which is now looking very achievable.
03/07 - 133.1 (+0.2) - Ok back to reality. I wondered how long the whoosh could last. Very happy with a tiny jump back up considering I started this round almost 3.5lb heavier! Weather is keeping me indoors and I am champing at the bit to get back out to my jogging/hiking. Forecast is not looking good. Otherwise, the week's food prep has been a god send and I am feeling focused and strong.
03/08 - 132.4 (-0.7) - Yay! Very close to my mini-goal of 132lb - hopefully see this by Tuesday. I have a night in with my girlfriends tonight with lots of delicious goodies and a few drinks, undoubtedly a greasy breakfast treat tomorrow, then back to the lighter food after that. I've got a fairly active weekend planned so looking to balance it out.
03/09 - no scale - Great night last night but I'm glad I didn't have to step on the scales this morning. Enjoyed my breakfast treat and now I'm off to get some healthy groceries in for the week!
03/10 - 137 (+4.6) - Hahaha didn't think I had THAT much fun on Friday, but apparently I did. Went for a 5km run yesterday, my first since my shoulder injury a month ago, so very happy with that. Did nearly 14000 steps and stuck to my calorie goal as well, despite being a little bit dusty after Friday drinks. A great Saturday all round!
03/11 - 136.9 (-0.1) - OK now I'm getting a little annoyed. The only thing I can think that's causing this fluctuation is that I started back on the pill on Friday and have had two days of heavier exercise over the weekend. Anyway, focusing on sticking to my calories and trusting the process - I know it works, just need to have faith and ignore the fluctuations. My clothes are feeling a bit looser so there's a NSV as well
03/12 - 132.7 (-4.2) - *shrugs* daily weighing for you!I had major issues with MFP yesterday, both the app and the desktop site and couldn't log my food until 10pm, which was infuriating! Had to estimate my intake and went slightly over - about 150cals. No biggie but annoying all the same.
03/13 - 134.9 - Late dinner after a heavy gym session last night seems to have stuffed my numbers for the end of this round. Still happy and know the trend is downwards so all good!

Facts: age: 61 female, 5'3"
Highest weight: 198 (decades ago ... )
Current weight: 134 (highest in a year!)
Lowest weight: 122 (a year ago now -- felt great!!)
Goal weight: anything under 125! I feel so close!
3/04 -- 134.8 letting the dust settle from the weekend!
3/05 -- 134.0 Back to mindful eating! Power yoga tonight (75 minute class!) So maybe back to the 133's tomorrow...
3/6 -- 132.8 Making progress!
3/7 -- 132.3 I am so busy this week (I teach at a community college and it's the week before Spring Break -- so many things to get done!) that I'm literally not thinking about food. This is good! There are lots of cookies and muffins around -- this is bad! It's interesting -- if you just say "oh, I can't eat that!" and laugh, it's kind of empowering. I am in control of what I eat... no one else.
3/8 -- 132.2 Spring is coming -- you can feel it in the air (still cold, but sunny, and well, just a little springier out there! I am pleased with this round so far. Weekend plans all weekend, and of course they all involve eating and drinking with friends. I have to remember how close I am to wearing those summer clothes!
3/9 -- 132.2 No change -- I am aiming for 131! I am reading the Blue Zones Solution and Old in Art School (authors Dan Buettner and Nell Painter) over spring break -- they will keep me mindful! The Blue Zone Diet is really great -- I'm loving the four best beverages -- water, coffee, green tea, and red wine. I drink them all!
3/10-- no weigh in
3/11 -- 134.2 -- and I'm sorry to report that I deserve every bit of those two pounds that showed up. It was a wonderful wild weekend full of Guinness, Mimosas, pizza, chocolate cake (yep!), and even Shrimp and grits! It's a thing! Oh well -- I have morning power yoga, and a week of Spring Break to amend for my shameless choices this weekend.
3/12 -- 132.9 -- A little better... would like to end this round in the 131's.... 2-3 pounds a round would be great results! Yoga yesterday was amazing, btw!
3/13 -- 131.9 - You know that feeling when you go to bed and you KNOW you've had a good day? Well, that was yesterday. It pays off! Today is KILLER poweryoga again...and I'm up for it. See y'all next round!

Day/Weight/Comment
03/04 - 149.4
Well, that makes no sense. I couldn't gain 3 pounds overnight even if my calories were crazy, which they were not. So I'm recording, shrugging, and moving on. Speaking of moving - it's 7F right now and I do not feel like moving myself from my warm house to the Y! Maybe I'll suck it up and go, or maybe just do something here. Anyway, I have my food planned for the day and am working on no stupid snacks. U.S. friends - if you're in the path of the current storms, be safe!
03/05 - 148
I still can't imagine why I'm this high, unless it's due to a massive time lag. Oh well. I'm pretty much back on track, so all is well.
03/06 - 147
I was sick yesterday afternoon - I think a mild reaction to a pneumonia shot I got in the morning - so I skipped dinner and, when I got up around 8 p.m. I had a lovely bowl of ice cream. But I'm back to normal (or as normal as I ever get! ) this morning. Off to the Y in a few minutes. Have a great day, everyone!
03/07 - 147.4
I spoke too soon - I'm still not feeling up to par and I slept most of the day today, which is why I'm late here. I'm also hurting again from the PMR I've been fighting since last summer, so I'm back on an anti-inllammatory diet to see if it will help. I didn't notice much difference last time, but I have to do something. So basically I'm on veggies, fish, chicken, and a little bit of fruit for a bit.
03/08 - 148
To my surprise, I got a good night's sleep even after sleeping most of the day, and I feel MUCH better today. I've also decided not to make my diet quite so restrictive, so I'll be eating as clean as possible, but including whole grains and healthy fats. There is so much conflicting info about food and inflammation - it can make your head explode! But I do have a sense of what makes me feel good and energetic and what makes me feel like crap. Sugar is the biggest offender, and I have it back under control after my crazy 4-month baking spree, which was very weird for me. So I will now limit my baking urge to whole grain, low-/no-sugar items, particularly breads that have nothing in them but the basics. Yum! And now I'm off to the Y! Have a great Friday, all, and thanks for all the hugs last night.
03/09 - 148.4
I'd say I don't understand this, but alas, I do. Vowing to do better. Have a great weekend, all.
03/10 - 148
Better on calories yesterday.
03/11 - 149
Mostly better on calories, although I had some fried chicken yesterday (not something I normally eat) and just too much. I have no idea what's become of my self control.
03/12 - 149
Really good day yesterday until I ate "just a couple" of butterscotch chips I found in the fridge, and then "just a few more." Sigh. Onward. I can't believe this round is almost over. Where did it go???
03/13 - 149
I don't know what's gotten into me with long gone binge behaviors, but I'm determined to stop it. My new technique is this - when the urge hits, do two things first. Drink a big glass of water. Take 3 minutes to write down why I want to eat and what it is I want to eat, and the pros and cons of eating it. I did that 4 years ago when I was early in this journey and it helped a lot. Back to basics. See you in R71.

You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine. - John C. MaxwellMy goal for 2019 is to get into ONEderland. Changing my life.Round 70: My focus is to continue tracking streak, reduce snacking on poor choices, drink more water and be active every day in some way shape or form! This round I need to move the needle on the scale!
Plans:
- Find workout routine that works (walk, bike, planks, yoga, swim, take advantage of retirement to be more active); target 70k steps per week
- Drink more water (target min 64 oz daily; start with 1 glass before coffee)
- Journal Food Daily (tracking with MFP since 12/28/2018)

Day/Weight/Comment
3/4 - 177 - 97g carbs, 89g net carbs.
Carbs were: spinach, eggs, turkey kielbasa, cranberry cheddar, salad, breaded flounder, peanut butter, crackers (15)
3/5 - 174.4 - 5g carbs - eggs.
3/6 - 173 - 5g carbs - eggs. Tired. Poor sleep, active mind.
3/7 - 173.8 - 5g carbs - eggs. Holding a little fluid. A bit short on water yesterday. I drank my 2nd dose electrolytes at midnight, went to bed, developed a stomach ache.
3/8 - 172.6 - 9g carbs, 7g net carbs.
eggs, 1TB peanut butter
3/9 - 172.2 - 5g carbs - eggs
3/10 - 174.2 - An early weigh in as far as my fasting schedule. I'm experimenting going back to 12/12 for a week or two for a little break. Expected from increased carbs, but, seems that I haven't learned my lesson about drinking salty water late in the evening.😦 It's okay. 19g carbs, 14g net carbs. Carbs were: salad spaghetti squash, pesto, peanut butter (1.5 TB) YES to vegetables!
3/11 - 170.8 - 16g carbs, 12g net carbs. Carbs were: spaghetti squash, salad, pesto, strawberries. The temptation of the day, sweet potatoes with apricot and mango fruit spread, sprinkled with mace (spice) nutmeg and cinnamon and glazed with drizzles of honey! DH and I went to visit our son, DIL and our little huggables😄 I took lunch/dinner (Lunner, it was closer to lunch time) A baked salmon filet, those sweet potatoes and green beans. Pound cake w/strawberries and whipped cream. I cooked the night before and in the morning. I ate none of that, except for 3 strawberries. My lunch was ground beef and spaghetti squash. My want of starchy carbs is gone I think. GOOD!!
3/12 - 170.4 - 25g carbs, 16g net carbs. Carbs were: beef smoked sausage, guacamole, cauliflower, cabbage, salad, Cucumber ranch dressing. Day 2 of my experiment in the books, successful so far. ☺
3/13 - 171.8 - 29g carbs, 21g net carbs. Carbs were: fathead dough (not a fan of this particular recipe) salad, green beans, turkey hotdogs.
Feeling tired this morning. I need a new mattress. Drank electrolytes just before bed again. 😕 I needed to drink them. I lost a lot of fluid weight this round, but end it retaining some.

03/04: 177.1 I did not post the last three days of last round. I was on the road with no scale, then even after trying to stay low on sodium I was high. It was a rough weekend for me and now it's TOM. I'm traveling again this week so no scale until Thursday. I didn't walk all weekend. I have no excuse other than laziness and bad choices. I could have walked both Friday and Saturday but didn't make it a priority. Now I feel like a bloated slug. My boyfriend broke his wrist last week, which shouldn't be a big deal but he has multiple myeloma which makes his bones brittle and I'm afraid this is a foreshadowing of things to come. He knows it, I know it but we don't talk about it. This is TMI, this post is TMI on multiple levels but it is directly impacting my food and exercise choices. In a few days I'll be back on track and all of these terrible thoughts will be put on a back burner.
03/05 no scale I did ok on food yesterday though there were more chocolate calories than technically necessary but I was within calorie goal. I'm back in St. Louis for the week. I'm going to the gym tonight for weights and staying within calories. I bought a swimsuit so there will be Kris Water Aerobics probably tomorrow night.
03/06 no scale I did stay within calories and worked out last night. This training did allow us to pick our own lunches, which saved some calories but still not what I would choose on my own. Tonight walking or water aerobics? Can't decide maybe a little of both.
03/07 no scale Much better food day yesterday, fewer sweets and more veggies! I got in a 3.7 mile walk around a lake here in St. Louis. It was in the high 30's felt good when the sun was out, not so much otherwise. Driving home today with a stop on the Katy Trail for another walk, just trying to figure out the timing because I also have a webinar I'll have to do from the road. I try to turn my travel time into fun walking time instead of sitting my lazy butt in a hotel all night every night. Here is a pic of the frozen waterfall...
aua8mces6ge8.jpg
03/08 177.2 Well a couple days of eating out every meal will screw me on sodium every week. But my exercise has been on point this week and I know calories in/calories out should have me in a better place. Yesterday's walk was a trail closer to home (the timing did not work out, no Katy trail this week). It was nice, I'll go back. Since it was a Thursday at 4:00 pm and cold I didn't see another human being but lots of deer and about 1,000 squirrels. Definitely going outside tonight- it's supposed to be in the mid 40's. You know it's been a long winter when you're thinking it's going to be 45 degrees.... SWEEET heat wave!
03/09 177.9
03/10 177.2
03/11 176.2 Spent a rare and wonderful weekend with my BF. We only ate out once and I was very good that night. I walked 3 miles on Friday night and another 3 yesterday but nothing on Saturday. I weighed and tracked but did all that thru the phone, I hate posting in here with the phone because it is inconsistent and annoying. I would really like to be down more (of course) but I had such a good weekend that I'm not complaining. I took today off to do all the things I didn't get done. I'm not traveling this week so there is hope for a lower number
03/12 177.9 No exercise yesterday and questionable food choices in that I had one meal all day and that was a reuben with cole slaw and some chocolate chips for dessert. I mean I had half the sandwich for a late lunch (around 4:00) and a the rest for dinner around 8:00p.m. My great niece had heart surgery yesterday (she's 16 months old and the baby in my profile pic). We hung out at the hospital - funny I was telling the parents they needed to eat so they could be in good shape for the baby but somehow forgot to eat myself. I guess it was a do as I say not as I do situation. All the stuff I thought I would get done yesterday didn't happen. The kids said they didn't want us at the hospital but in the end they did so I'm glad I took the day off. There are things more important than my diet. The baby is doing very well and they even let her come home last night (via our house for a few hours). It wasn't open heart surgery - just out patient but her Mom and Dad were so tired I think they just wanted a little more "safe" time, I'm so glad my house is that for them. Now a doctor visit for myself this afternoon. I don't remember what I weighed when I was there in December, we'll see what he thinks.
03/13 177.0 I really had hope of a lower number but it is what it is I guess. I was way under on calories and spent an hour at the gym doing weights. Doctor visit went well- blood pressure is down - woohoo! These last 3 rounds have been rough for me. I need to refocus on food. I'm doing well with exercise and while I've been under calories I have been making bad food choices. It's on to round 71!!!
EDIT:
I just calculated my loss since joining this group in Round 55. I have lost an average of .64 pounds a week. My goal is .5 pounds a week - so I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and just be proud. I have unrealistic expectations because when I lost weight before I lost an average of 2.25 pounds a week. BUT my diet was considerably more restrictive (1200 calories and 20 grams of fat back then fat was the enemy even avocados and olive oil - crazy times) and I didn't have the eating out challenges I have with my job now due to travel. I was also 17 years younger and literally lived across the street from the gym. Thank you for listening/reading18 -
I'm gonna give this a go, bit of a strange time to start as it's TOTM and I'm not feeling too good but I need the accountability. It's so interesting reading everyone's insights and weight fluctuations, you're all so inspiring!
38 yr old female, 5'3.5"
OSW 168 lbs January 19th 2019
03/04 159.2 up a pound or so from recent days but I had a bad weekend with lots of drinking and snacking though stayed around maintenance calories, plus it's totm
03/05 159.4 well I was a total lazy slob yesterday so I guess I don't deserve a loss! I did stay below my calories though...
03/06 161.4 (+2#) I had high hopes getting on the scales this morning. Yesterday was a great day, I enjoyed a good long session at the gym and ate at my calorie goal of 1200 rather than way below it. Didn't sleep that great though. Gutted to be back in the 160s
03/07 159.4 felt sure it was going to be lower today. What happened to the 157.2 I saw about ten days ago? Nothing has changed, I have been in a constant deficit of at least 500 cals with maybe one or two days at maintenance. Yesterday I ate just over 1000 calories and burnt about 450 at the gym and went to bed hungry 😔 My trend line on Libra is now going up not down and it says n/a where the date for my goal weight should be.
03/08 157.4 (-2#) finally! I'm relieved about that! And surprised because I have stiff legs from a workout and that usually means water weight for me. Also I ate a lot of salad yesterday so I assumed I would be holding a lot of food bulk. I worked out in the evening rather than the morning so maybe that helped. I'm noticing a lot of people talking about drinking more water so I'm gonna aim for two litres a day plus coffee etc. I prefer sparkling with a slice, hopefully that'll do the trick!
03/09 did not weigh
03/10 did not weigh
03/11 158.8 (-0.4#) totally ate and drank too much this weekend, hopefully some of this is water weight. Still hopeful for reaching my goal if I really put the effort in!
03/12 156 (-3.2#) so I got a big drop, yay. However yesterday I only ate 450 cals and burned 750ish in calories at the gym, so this is definitely not healthy. I know I should be looking after myself better but when you get a drop like this it's hard to convince yourself to eat more.
03/13 155 (-4.2#) another drop and goal exceeded buy 2#! I think I've been lucky to end this round at this weight as I feel another upswing is gonna happen any day now. I've been staying really hydrated, keeping calories low (probs too low) and have been working out nearly every day.
I've really appreciated this challenge, the comments I've made are a really useful insight into my weight loss rhythms and I found reading others' posts encouraging and motivating.
Thank you so much to everyone who has shared their 10 days and congrats on your achievements! I'm definitely in for round 71!

Hi-I’m Karen
Sept. 2018 OSW 187 (Was my Round #1)
UGW 135.....yes, 135!
Goal this round-159-hopefully!
3/4-166-Birthday cake and ice cream for dinner with our widowed friend. (All of our kids are grown and gone.)I knew I was going to feel awful, so I had milk with protein powder and some peanut butter....Our friend is very trim and fit and I never see her eat crap like that, but yesterday was her exception, and we happily joined in. I got her flowers (because I see how healthy she eats)and her sister in law brought her a cake and ice cream and I realized what a wonderful gesture that was because I realized nobody else provided her with a cake and she is a mom. I realized then, that “every mom deserves a cake”.
3/5-162-That is a swoosh I had been expecting. I ate sensibly yesterday and got to walk in the morning and evening.
3/6-165-Salty soup and salad dressing. More rain, so I have to get out walking soon.
3/7-162-I got down to this last round. That is 25 pounds since I started in September. I just want to encourage anyone who is struggling: Please don’t give up! It all takes time, just as we did not gain our weight over night, we can’t lose it all over night. I love looking back at how much everyone else weighed & lost and it gives me hope to keep going.
3/8 No Scale
3/9 No Scale
3/10 No Scale
3/11 No Scale
3/12-167 I dropped everything I was doing and drove 4 hours on Thursday, to help my uncle with my aunt. She was my mom’s sister and I wanted to be by her side as she passed away. I am glad I was able to be there....however, there was plenty of food and a lot of sitting. I’m back home and will get back on track today.
3/13 164-You people are absolutely wonderful, thank you for all of the “hugs”.😊 I wish we all lived close together so we could all meet for coffee now and then! It’s good to be back home walking & sewing again.16 -
@SheilaBoneham That's a good idea about writing down why and what with pros an cons. I'm going to try it!5

Round 70 here we go! Glad to see everyone back for another go at this.

SW Jan 2019 - 147.5 lb
GW - 135 lb
R67 EW = 141 lb; ∆ = -2.2 lb
R68 EW = 138.2 lb; ∆ = -2.8 lb
R69 EW = 135 lb; ∆ = -3.2 lb
Day/Weight/Comment:
03/04 - 137.4 lbs. (Up 2.4 pounds) I think yesterday was a fluke and that I showed as 135 because I was so dehydrated. I drank like 5 vodka sodas on Saturday night, but I also did so much dancing! Haha. So today I am back to the basics but I have changed my calories to 1480 (losing .5 lb per week). I hope I can stick with this without worrying about gaining weight. 1480 is not that much.
03/05 136.4 lbs. Coming back down 🙌 I had a hard time eating up to my calorie goal yesterday. But I did eat more than 1200, (1346), and since I realized eating too much in the evening is challenging I will add an extra 100 calories to my breakfast 🙂. I think it's my Fitbit that threw me off. I don't want to see my chart turn red (i.e. more calories in than out). But it's mind over matter right now. I am trying to build myself up for life long success.
03/06 136.4 lbs. 😃 This is good! I increased my calories yesterday and I was afraid it might show on the scale (1471). I think this is going great and honestly I had a moment of self reflection yesterday where I realized this last 1.5 pounds doesn't really matter. I'm happy with where my body is at right now. I just don't want to gain weight back. And NSV Yesterday I got a pair of jeans I ordered from Old Navy in the mail and they fit perfectly.
03/07 136.4 lbs. 1477 calories yesterday. Eating more throughout the day has become much easier. When I saw the scale go so quickly to 136.4 again my first thought is maybe the scale is glitching, but in reality I think this is just my new normal and that's just fine. My clothes fit so much better and I feel stronger as well. I've been doing yoga now for 39 straight days and today I am going to start the Dedicate 30 day yoga journey
03/08 137 lbs. Yesterday's stats: 1456 calories, 3,025 mg sodium, 10,000 steps, yoga, and body resistance strength training. Why am I up? I did move my scale to a different part of my floor and it seemed to calculate longer, so my guess is my weight has been creeping up. Also I had way more sodium than I usually do. I need to watch that. But it's just so hard. I can't imagine how much sodium I must have consumed before I started logging. Also I think my water was lower yesterday so I'll drink much more today to see if that helps. ✌️♥️
03/09 136 lbs. Yesterday: 1231 calories, 1853 mg sodium, 10,700k steps including 2 mile jog, and yoga. I'll admit, I went back to eating more restrictive because I didn't like seeing that scale go up, especially right before a weekend. Tonight I am going out of town and Sunday I'll be away all day, so I want to give myself some cushion. Today at 11:30 I am planning on going to a dance class. The dance is called Nia, have any of you done it before? I did it 3 years ago as part of an intensive outpatient program. I was super into it and wish I had continued after I finished. Nia is a unique blend of dance, yoga, Chi Gong and Aikido, that promotes energy, strength and well-being.
03/10 136 lbs. I weighed this AM. My dance class was cancelled and my other plans got cancelled. So I went out to go dancing again instead and had an amazing time! The person who threw the event is a ballroom dancer and all his friends are ballroom dancer, so I got asked to dance with 4 different professional ballroom dancers and they were just making me feel so light on my feet! I drank some, so I think my calories came out even. All and all it was one of those nights where I really appreciated where I am in life and health.
03/11 136.6 lbs. I expected this. I hardly moved at all yesterday and didn't have a bowel movement. I hope after my normal exercise and eating today I go back down. And hopefully I have a BM today 🤞🤞
03/12 136.2 lbs. No BM. We are officially on BM watch 2019 👀😆 I bet I just need to be more active and drink more water. So my goal for the day is to jog and drink 10 glasses of water. I've had 2 already today.
3/13 134.8 lbs. (-1.4 overnight!) I'm probably going to go back up tomorrow, but seeing a drop on the final day is refreshing and I tried really hard for this yesterday. TMI: after my post yesterday at 6:30am I took a colace and had to go to the bathroom like 4 times until I was totally cleaned out. Yay! No more constipation after 36 hours!
16.5k steps including jogging 3.1 miles without stopping which is a new personal best, but I continued even when my knee started to hurt and now I have runners knee. I hope the swelling goes down and I can get back out there soon!

Day/Weight/Comment
03/04: 202.6 (I’m glad I started at a good number! I lost about 0.4 pounds since yesterday which never happens on a Monday morning. I’m hoping for a great start to the week! Last night I ate some soup and salad and did a 40 minute stepper workout.)
03/05: 201.2 (This drop was nice! I felt very energized last night to do my 2 workouts. One was 20 mins on the elliptical and the other was a core workout. I even made a nice oven fried chicken dinner too which is rare for a Monday since I usually do those on the weekend. I think all this working out is really affecting my energy level , in a good way, and I love it!)
03/06: 201.4 ( A slight increase which most likely has to do with an increase in exercise. On a weekly basis, I increase my minutes on the elliptical and the last two weeks this has been affecting my weight loss with most likely water weight because of my sore muscles. But I’ll stay the course and I’m sure one day the pounds will fall!)
03/07: 200.8 ( I did a short upper body strength training exercise last night and had a couple of slices of cheese pizza! I was very sleepy and I had a wonderful 7 hours of sleep. I’m so close to reaching my goal!)
03/08: 199.4 (wow! I’m finally in ONEderland!!! I cannot believe it. I’ve been trying to get to this number since before my wedding last July! I didn’t work out last night because I was spending time with the family. I ate BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes and Caesar salad last night from a local bbq joint but kept the portions small. I made my goal! Let’s hope it stays this low til the 13th. I always gain on the weekend.)
03/09: 199.6 ( I always expect an increase on the weekend. I did a 45 minute elliptical workout yesterday! My planned meal last night was half a chili burger and fries with some garlic edamame and banana milkshake. SO worth it! 😋)
03/10: 200.6 (I’m shocked I didn’t gain more than this! I had a lot of yummy food including a Chipotle vegetarian burrito. I also did a total body strength training workout yesterday. I usually gain more during the weekend so I think this is a victory for me.)
03/11: 200.6 (So happy I didn't gain! I'm 2 pounds down from last Monday and I think that's definitely a win for me! Monday's I'm heavier so I know I'll get to the 190's again pretty soon as long as I drink tons of water today! 2 more days left and I hope I'm at 199.8 by Wednesday morning. Last night I had some grilled garlic lemon chicken, broccoli and potatoes. I also did a 20 minute interval training workout on the elliptical.)
03/12: 198.6 (Yay a new low! I haven't seen this number in about 10 months. I had lost weight and put it all back on. I feel like this time, I found a way that definitely works for me and I can do this forever! Last night I did a core workout and 20 minutes on the elliptical. I also ate steak, baked potato with butter and sour cream and steamed broccoli for dinner last night! I'm hoping I stay below 199.8 tomorrow to make my goal!)
03/13: 197.4 (I am beyond happy that I got to this number. I don't know how that happened because a couple of weeks ago I was struggling to lose weight doing all the right things. Sticking to it finally paid off! Last night I was feeling exhausted so I did some interval training for 20 minutes instead of my planned 45 minute cardio workout. I felt a lot better after and I hope I'm not catching the office cold! Last night I had some grilled chili chicken, rice and asparagus!)
Total loss this round: 5.2 pounds (Goal accomplished!! ONEderland )17 -

03/04. 191.6. Up from yesterday, but had a great family, not over the top calories-wise, with wine. Should be lower in next few days. Hoping, hoping to be consistently in the 180’s this time. Very motivated to see numbers I haven’t seen in many years.
03/05. 190.4. Weekend gain nearly gone. Tried some a bit too tight pants on yesterday, and they are now loose.
03/06. 188.8. WOW, did not expect this! But I will take it.
03/07. 187.8
03/08 187.4. Good trend downward BUT now must work had not to gain too much over weekend.weekends are my downfall!
03/09. 189.4. Sigh..I own it: take out Chinese food my DH and DS idea of making dinner! And a couple glasses of wine.
03/10. 190.0. We had a great meal at friends’house. All good food, African curries, rice, and a beautiful salad, and a brandy pudding with whipped cream. All delicious, spiced perfectly! Today, I admit, no regrets about the high calorie count.
03/11. 191.0
03/12. 191.0. There goes my hope of ending in the 180’s! Back one n track today.!
03/13 190.4. Back on track yesterday, bu,t just missed my goal of 180’s. Still down from start.. now onto next round!13 -
@SheilaBoneham It's a good idea. I drive between KC an St. Louis 2 or 3 times a month and it is SO hard not to snack on the road. I can't write it down when driving but even if I think of it in those terms it has to help right?6

@shunggie Right! And if you can not carry snacks within reach, you'd have to stop to get them, and if you stop, you can take 5 min. to write it down, so there ya go!3 -
@SheilaBoneham Dang girl, you are right about stopping. That's when I'm weak - I've been on the road for 3 hours and I see that choc chip muffin calling my name when I walk in the store.3

03/04
03/05
03/06 - 218.6 an ok first day. Over ate didn't reach my step goal. IF is necessary I beleive to stay in the 1200 calorie range.
03/07 - 217.8
03/08- 218.6- need to drink more water - less wine...
03/09 - 219.8 hooters...
03/10 - 220.4 - went out. TOM trying to happen
03/11 218.6 a little better. Still over by 300 after a late night snack. TOM still lingering.
03/12- 215.2- Woosh! TOM in full swing. I really needed to see that scale go down. Better day yesterday overall.
03/13 - 216.2 - Yesterday went great, but got slippery in the evening.
I am learning to make small changes. I didn't hit my goal this time, but I hope I will next round!

@shunggie Carry fruit with you! But I know it's easier said than done. I went for years eating virtually no added sugar, no junk food, and then I went crazy last fall after being on a very restrictive elimination diet. I think the extreme "can't have it" approach made me want EVERYTHING when I finished. But I've gained back the 15 pounds I lost over the past year - no good. Let's try this together!6 -
I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40 My average loss/gain since Round 40 to 63 is a 0.5lb loss each round. This was better than I expected!

Mar 4 - 179.6 - thanks for starting a new thread Grandma. I need to buckle down and start losing, I seem to be maintaining very well but at the wrong weight.
Mar 5 - 176.2 - I’m not sure what is going on with all of these fluctuations. Maybe I need to change batteries in my scale.
Mar 6 - 176.4 - I tried three times today got 176.2- 176.0 and 176.4 .
Mar 7 - 178.2 - again I weighed 3 times.
Mar 8 - away no scale
Mar 9 - away no scale
Mar 10 - 182.0 I knew going away was a bad idea. A lot of this is sodium though.
Mar 11 - 178.6 that’s better.
Mar 12 - 177.4 - I hope tomorrow is back to 176. Something
Mar 13 - 177.4 well it’s been a roller coaster this round!

Apologies if I post this twice!

Round 69 SW: 211.6
03/04—211.8—Had a hungry day yesterday, but also an exercise-filled day. My head is fine (I smacked it hard yesterday on the tailgate of my car). This is gonna be a good week.
03/05—211.4—Another rather hungry day, though I was able to keep my calories in a good place. I hate the cold, but I took a nice long walk yesterday while it was in the thirties. I felt fairly invigorated, but I probably won't do that again today.
03/06—212.8—Not a concerning bump for several reasons. 1. Bumps happen; 2. I had a Frosty yesterday; 3. This was an early weigh-in; 4. My digestive system is positively wonky! Still having a good week, though I'm terribly sleepy this moment as I sit at my desk and attempt to write regulatory comments!
03/07—212.6—Tummy troubles continue to plague me and work continues to be very busy. But things are otherwise looking very spiffy! We're in the middle of planning a trip to Ireland in late May that's going to be fabulous.
03/08—211.2—New lows are always nice.
03/09—210.8—Another new low. I'm surprised by this one because we went to the movies last night and I had popcorn. I've had a pretty low-exercise week, though that's about to end since I'm going to do some significant working out in a few minutes.
03/10—212.4—Very sore muscles this morning! One of the exercises I was doing yesterday is either NOT FOR ME or I was doing it wrong because it hurt. Yow. And now I'm stiff and sore, which is less ideal than it sounds!
03/11—211.8—Not a good eating weekend, so I'm pleased this number is what it is! Still sore, but better today.
03/12—211.6—Other than a minor incident involving super hot cinnamon gummi bears, it was a good day!
03/13—210—I like it! 1.6 pounds down in the round (inadvertent rhyme is fun)! I'm feeling good about my trajectory, especially considering I was considering lowering my calorie goal but chose to be a little more diligent about getting within the higher goal instead.
