Barbie - I like the "911" container. I've heard of doing that but didn't know any area actually supplied a container with instructions. I'll see what we have in our area.
I keep a condensed 1 page Medical History for each of us. We take it to doctor appointments And I keep a copy uploaded to my CareZone app. (A free app for all things medical related. I highly recommend it.)
It includes everything I've seen in medical questionnaires.
• Identification (name, address, phone, date of birth, SSN)
• Insurance info
• Blood type
• Known Allergies
• Travel out of country
• Medications - including OTC
• Medical History - with dates & locations for surgeries screening tests, blood labs, etc. # of births, date last menses. I even include MRIs, X-rays,
• Prinary care doctor name, address, phone)
• List of doctors
• Emergency Contsct
• Pharmacy
I update it at least annually - but usually in preparation before any doctor visit.
➡️ I also keep a Doctor Visit sheet. Although I mostly do this in s CareZone app journal entry now. It includes:
• Vitals this visit (w/vitals last visit noted)
• "Doctor needs to know" notes.
• Purpose of this visit.
• Doctor's comments.
• Next steps.
I think it's a good practice. I've done this 11 years now.

Ginger, I am in awe of your organization. Our doctors send us home from the appointment with a visit summary of why were there, vitals, currents meds, and when to come back.

what a stunner of a day it was, I picked up and the wall is finally done... I actually got my beach chair which is one of the higher ones and sat out on my patio soaking up the sun.. had the windows and patio door open getting some fresh air in and blowing off the Winter stink.
I am sore , i washed the patio windows inside and out, and the inside of the bedroom windows , feels good to get a few things accomplished..6 -
A bit windy early but only light rain off and on today. To destress walking is my favorite. I also love to cuddle with Ella. Somehow her snuggles seem to make the stress not so overwhelming. Walking along the river or on the beach is therapeutic and add a dog for company, that is about as good as it gets.

Got the flower bed in front of house cleaned out today. Didn't do anything with it in the fall. Took everything out except two rose bushes that I have not managed to kill! Need to decide on what sort of perennials to put in. Will put in a few annuals. It was so nice being out in the sun.
Also grilled out some steak and chicken for the week. Got a little over an hour walk in, With the yard work, shopping, and other stuff around the house I got in 13,700 steps and 78 active minutes. Not going to be able to eat back all of the calories.
Walking and movement help me destress.6 -
Last spring I used the gift card my line dance class gave me for my birthday and bought spring bulbs. They were delivered in October and I planted them a few at a time to be sure I didn't hurt my back. Here they are. Behind them are the iris bulbs that my neighbor asked me to dig up from her yard before she moved. I love my flowers.

Today I finished an important project that I thought I'd share with you. In my town ( and maybe everywhere), the 911 responders supply a container that's like a tall plastic pill container with a sticker on it that says "911". It contains a form to fill out with all the information that the 911 responders might need if they responded to you and you were unable to supply info. You put the form in the container and put it in your refrigerator. There's also a sticker to put on your door so they know to look for the container in the refrigerator. I found the form too cumbersome to fill out so I put it all in a computer document and printed it to put in the container. Today I updated the forms for both Jake and me. They hadn't been updated since 2014 so there were a lot of things to change. I intend to make this a yearly update for us.

That's more or less what I'm doing as I put together my husband's seizure management plan.
But I'll have to check if Triple 0 has a system similar to 911.grogers511 wrote: »Barbie - I like the "911" container. I've heard of doing that but didn't know any area actually supplied a container with instructions. I'll see what we have in our area.

That's good ... I'll take a look at the CareZone app too. I'm on the hunt for apps to make my life easier.
I've just downloaded the Drugs.com app because one of the medications my husband is on interacts badly with hundreds of other medications, so I can just call up that app, type in his medication and whatever the proposed medication might be, and know in an instant whether that will work or not.
I'm now looking for an alert app of some sort. I'm pretty sure I can get alert buttons etc. but I'm wondering if there's an app. I might also check with MedicAlert to see what they might have.
I do the second part you mentioned in my calendar entries in Outlook at work ... what I want to talk to the Dr about and all that. I might add to it periodically as I get closer to the appointment, then I set a reminder of a day in advance, then go in and flesh it out a little with more details.
It's all a part of trying to be organised and reduce stress.

Our daughter was telling us last night that towards the middle of May she gets to go spend two days on ship with her son. She will fly to where his ship will come into dock, then they take a two-day cruise. I've never heard of this program but she is super excited. She is a Navy veteran herself.
We have a grandson graduating college this year and a granddaughter graduating high school. Our grands range in age from 5 to 25, plus our 5 month old great-grandson. Yes, Heather, we are truly blessed

Its called a dependents cruise! How great! Sometimes ships do a Tiger cruise and its kid's of a certain age that go on a mini cruise. I went on one for overnight when husband's ship was traveling from Yokosuka to Shimoda for a festival there.

Well, we have found a house for rent that is literally one street away from us! We took a tour and it blew the house by the beach out of the running! The fact that we were told that the owner wanted to write in the rental agreement that we would pay for lawn service. Its already the upper edge of what we want to pay for rent and now she told the management company she wants us to have a service do the lawn. That might be hundreds more! Its 2200 sq ft , 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a bonus weird room for $1975 a month. This place today is 2400 sq ft, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and $1900 a month. So we've put in our applications and fingers crossed we process smoothly!
💖 ladies!

Run was fantastic, no one about except for street cleaners and scaffold builders!!!!! York is beautiful, without the tourists and party people. Even a light drizzle didn't damp my joy. I ran all round the back streets and saw lots of nice houses. Running is a great way to explore a city. I got back to the hotel and tripped on a paving stone. A shock, but did not do too much damage. Last time I fell over I cracked my arm. Just a bruised knee this time.
Had a huge breakfast and now I am relaxing before meeting up with the girls for an organised City Walk.
I'm still hoping to get to the Railway Museum this afternoon.
Will walk off a few calories!
Much love to all, Heather UK XXXXXX6 -

Machka: I totally agree with you. Planning is an essential part of realising one's dreams. Making a written plan and following it, with regular reviews is my method of choice, and using a to do list keeps me on track. Later: Progressive lenses? I think we call them varifoacals here. I find them very useful. I also have my glasses coated with reactolite so that I don't have to keep changing to sunglasses.
My Word for 2019 is CHOICE with a different word chosen for each month.
My word for April is CONSOLIDATE
This month I am choosing to take stock of how much I have achieved so far. At almost 73, I feel that my emphasis should be on health and fitness. I upped my calories slightly, and am concentrating on reducing my empty calories.
The increase in calories doesn't seem to have had an adverse effect so far. I've still got my daily budget set for a small loss, and that seems to be happening. It's slow but steady, so I'm fairly happy with it.
April Daily Goals Just for today...- Log food/stay under goal 4/4
- 9000 steps a day 4/4
- 60+ minutes intentional exercise daily 4/4
- Weigh less at the end than now - 0.8
Need to charge my tablet, so will be back later.

I think varifocal is one name for them.
I'll have two pair - one will be "normal" progressives that have the three levels: distance, medium, and reading. The other will be "desk" progressives (which I've got now) which will have three levels: computer screen, keyboard/paper, reading. But my new "desk" progressives will be adjusted to my current vision so I can actually see my computer screen. Right now everything I'm typing is slightly blurry.
The "normal" progressives will be transitional as well, so they'll go dark in bright light and clear inside.
I'm really looking forward to being able to see again!!

I just found this community and this thread. I thought I would introduce myself. I’m Karen, I’m 52, mom to a 15 year old hockey player and wife to a great dude.
I started my weight loss journey at 323 in Sept and am down 54 pounds with the help of a great nutritionist/coach.
Looking to find a supportive place with others in the journey. 💪
My goals for April are to hit my macros +\- 5 every day.
Lift 3xs per week
Cardio x2s a week
No alcohol 🍷12 -
NYKAREN So glad you have a chance to unwind now. I think your students are very fortunate to have someone so conscientious & devoted to teach & critique.
Heather Your morning run sounds peaceful. What a great start to your day! Enjoy your time with your friends. You are making memories, a gift you can draw on for the rest of your life.
Karen NCRawGirl Welcome! Thank you for joining us. We are a very chatty bunch & welcome newbies. Be sure to bookmark this thread. Look for Barbie's link to a new thread at the end of each month. There are a bunch of Karens here, so please identify yourself with more than "Karen" to help keep us straight.

Welcome Karen NCRawGirl! ... a 54 pound loss since September is great!
Tis the season of bridal showers ... I have an invite to one every Saturday in April and a few in May ... and then the weddings start. Yesterday's shower was for the daughter of one of my dearest friends. Enjoyed visiting and managed to keep the eating to a minimum ... although I did eat outside of my self-imposed window. Today I woke up with my husband's head cold and a small gain on the scale, but the sun is shining so will focus on that!

Happy Sunday, ladies!
First, I see lots of newbies here - welcome!
Lisa - I am not surprised you did so well in getting your degree in communications. You are a very, very talented writer. When you are working on grants, does your brain do/compose other writing in the background? Glad to hear your son is doing well in school and his kitty has found a welcome home. And Egg has the house back all to herself.
Barbie and Ginger - what a great idea getting that 911 information accessible to first responders. Think I'll do a quick version today and stick it under a magnet on the fridge at least listing our meds, insurance, immunizations, doctors. Barbie, your flowers are lovely!
Rebecca - that close rental sounds perfect. Fingers crossed it all works out for you!
Michele, I thought of you this week and your parting of the ways with your Newcomer duties. I've decided to resign from the local advisory board for Area Agency on Aging. The monthly meetings used to have discussions/speakers regarding programs and projects for seniors that were super good. The group has a new chairperson and executive director and has veered way off our duties as reflected in the by-laws. Rather than complain and throw a monkey wrench into this gals newfound passion, lol, it's best that I step away so they can get someone new in the group that doesn't mind templates with "action plans, tasks, small groups...." and all of that organizational stuff I was glad to get away from when I retired. DH looked at the chairlady's last email and list of tasks for the group members and said it looked like she wanted everyone to have a part-time job. I was considering resigning anyhow as it didn't live up to my expectations, so this nailed it.
Heather - what kind of new vacuum are you getting? An upright or one with a canister/hose? I really need a new one. Glad you were able to have a good visit with your cancer friend. Sorry to hear you took a spill - and hope you and your DH were able to avoid the crud. Cute photo of Max by the way.
Love seeing everyone's photos by the way, your grand kids are growing up too quickly. And all are adorable.
I saw a discussion on food budgets this week so took a look at ours. We spend anywhere from $600 to $750 per month, and probably $100 of that is for coffee pods, and we go through 6 or 8 per day, which I buy in bulk and wait for sales then load up. I'm grateful we can afford it right now, and considering how much coffee we drink in our house, it's probably less than what a person spends getting one Starbucks coffee every day. Also included in that food total is my lunches out and take-out I grab every few weeks.
Also have been cutting way back on the internet lately... have found a couple new-to-me mystery writers. Harlan Coben and Patricia Cornwell. The local thrift shops have lots of their books, in hardback, for $.50 to $1 each. So I can buy, read, and return them to be resold. They are both prolific writers. Anyhow, reading is supposed to be better for our brains than social media so I'm doing my part, lol.
I also heard back from MFP about the javascript problem... they said they are working on it, it's not just me, they've had other complaints as well.
I'm back on the SWSY weight routine 2 to 3 times per week, and happily left shoulder is getting better and better each day.
That's it for now.

Katla - how did DH's colonoscopy go? Wasn't that this week? You might have posted and I missed it. Hope he's OK.
