My goal for this round is just to see a net drop / new low. Had one at the very beginning of last round, then stalled out.

04/03 171.6 Good morning everyone! I took a much needed rest day yesterday. I'm working today and getting in an upper body workout tonight. Make today a good one!
04/04 172.6 Hmm I was on track with calories and macros and I did get an upper body workout. Had lots of water. Sleep was poop though.
04/05 172.4 I feel like I'm retaining water this morning. That time is coming up in just a few days. I'm so ready for the weekend!

04/03 177.7 I have been around the same weight for more than 2 months. My exercise is better than it's ever been in my life. I haven't been over calories more than 3 or 4 days in that time period. It makes no sense to me. I feel like a fraud when people mention my weight loss. I want to scream yes, I was doing very well but now I'm seriously stuck. My stress level isn't particularly higher than any other time. I'm traveling a lot for work, but no more than I did last year. I'm getting as much sleep and water as I was before. Really I can't figure out what's changed. It's like I hit the midway point and my body said - nope this is good enough for you.
04/04 179.9 I know I didn't gain 2 pounds overnight. I did the circuit training for an hour, came home to work in the yard for an hour. I had a salad and a bowl of soup for dinner. My calorie goal is now 1640 and I came in at 1556. I didn't even hit my calorie goal much less eat back any workout calories. I've had a little cold for a week or so, maybe that's something. I woke up a little achy all over I wasn't sure if it was the cold or the yard work, which uses different muscles than the gym apparently. I felt like giving up when I saw that number this morning. To hell with it all, let's go get pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Instead I came to work and had oatmeal. I'll have a sensible sandwich and some veggies for lunch. Blah blah blah What's that they say about insanity... doing the same things over and over again expecting a different result.
EDIT: Obviously feeling sorry for myself. I apologize for the whining.
04/05 176.4 Three and a half pounds gone in one day. Whoosh! I am sorry I am such a downer lately, it's just so frustrating. I got some other news that might make a difference as well. The app I use, Mapmyfitness, updated the way they calculate calorie burns and it's considerably lower. I hope this makes a difference. Maybe speed things up. I got in 4 fast miles yesterday (fast for me 1:05). I've also been doing a plank challenge. Five minutes in 30 days. Last night was 40 seconds, tonight 50 seconds. I don't think it burns many calories but it can't hurt either.

Day/Weight/10-day Calorie Ave/Comment
04/03 - 151 - 10-day ave 1807
Well, harumph. My 10-day ave came down slighty, but yesterday I did have a series of snack attacks - big blueberry muffin + way too many nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews) + 2 Reese's PB cups. Not all at once! No, I spread my indulgences all through the day. Anyway, I'm off for blood work to recheck my inflammation levels and then for a long outdoor walk and then the gym for weights. And grocery for snacky veggies. And I need to drop the habit of eating while I write (I'm a writer/author and have a bad inclination to eat while I work). Gaaa! I really don't know what's gotten into me - it's been 4 years since I started this journey in earnest and I was definitely "in remission" re. sugar and simple carbs and just plain over eating. One thin I can do is go to the library to work - no food allowed! But also no coffee or water.... Anyway, today is another new beginning, right? Right.
04/04 - 151.6 - 10-day ave 1787; 7-day ave 1852
Yesterday was a very good day - some exercise, calories in line, macros good, low sugar, no stupid snacking....all good. So this increase is due to 3 crazy high-calorie days out of the past 6. But I feel finally that I'm really back at it - maybe I needed a blow out to find my way back.
04/05 - 151.2 - 10-day ave 1758, 7-day ave 1694
Good news for me - yesterday I had blood work to measure inflammation, which I've been fighting for the past 10 months. One measure is now in the normal range, the other just barely over. They were both VERY high last fall. I refused to take prednisone long term, despite a lot of pressure from doctors, and I attribute the improvement to regular exercise and to working toward optimum (rather than "within reference range") levels of vitamins D3, K2, B12, and magnesium. I'm relieved and more hopeful about resolving this for good in the next few months. Oh, and my pain has diminished a lot. Yay!

Yesterday was great for activity, but I had a hard time eating all my calories. I think I want to stay in a ~200 calorie deficit Monday-Friday to give me more wiggle room on the weekend.
NSV after taking my blood pressure my Dr. remarked, "that's better than mine!"
04/05 133.4 t = 133.8
1682 cals in; 2048 cals out

By the time I got home from work yesterday at 6:30 I was so tired that I was asleep by 7:30. So I didn't eat enough calories but I did get 9 1/2 hours of sleep!
I'm going to a wine etiquette event for young professionals tonight. I am really looking forward to it and having the wiggle room to enjoy the wine and food. I just have to remind myself it takes 3,500 excess calories to put on a pound of fat. So I have no need to worry every time I go to an event that I'm going to blow myself out of maintenance. If the rain stops early I'll go for a jog before I head out for the night

Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.

Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40 My average loss/gain since Round 40 to 63 is a 0.5lb loss each round. This was better than I expected!

Apr 3 - 179.8 - II am struggling to stay disciplined and determined. I lost my job in December and the stress is starting to get to me. I am hoping with the nicer weather we are expected to have this round that I will feel better about getting out and walking.
Apr 4 - 182.4 - I need to get my head in the game again, right now I’m not even playing with shoes on! I have a doctors appointment today to see what is wrong with my rib, hopefully she’ll give me the cure I need for that and I can get back to it.
Apr 5 - 180.2 I have a viral infection that affects the cartridge that attaches to the ribs. I had this in January and apparently it can take up to a year to full get rid of. I didn’t realize it was the same thing as it’s in another area on my ribs. Healthier day yesterday, but still no exercise.

Hi-I’m Karen
Sept. 2018 OSW 187 (Was my Round #1)
UGW 135.....yes, 135!
Goal this round-161
4/3-164-I’ve been walking 7 miles a day and then am tired and hungry. I made hard boiled eggs and baked chicken yesterday so I could grab quick protein. I am really glad to have a new round!!!!
4/4-163-The extra protein helps, it was still daylight after dinner, so I walked 3 more miles. I am going to try riding my bike today. The weather was finally nice yesterday.
4/5-161-I walked 5 miles and rode my bike 5 miles. I need to mix in some upper body workouts. I like eating at home because I can eat so much more healthier. Lots of yard work to do this weekend....hopefully I’ll drink water instead of beer.
Good luck!!! I am glad you are all here!!!🌷☕️🌷12 -

But I went to the store and I went to eat and then played with the kids outside so it could be anywhere. I had so much activity yesterday and no idea exactly what I had because I assumed my fitbit would record for me. And I don't have the means to buy a new one right now

I don't know if you have access to ebay but I have purchased a couple of older fitbits from there for around $20.00 (shipping included). They are good to have for this kind of situation (I like to have a backup). I'm sure you can probably find good used ones on other sale/auction websites too. Just a thought. I'm addicted to my fitbit too!7 -

Thank you! I have my Blaze at home but it won't hold a charge all day so its not that useful to me. I charged it yesterday when I realized my alta was missing and by this morning it was so dead it wouldn't even turn on. My alta was my backup to my Blaze until I could afford a new one.6 -

4/4 - 174 - 37g carbs, 28g net carbs. Carbs were: mexican squash w/vidalia onions (so tasty, but so carby!) peanut butter. Lots of stretching needed today from glute workout. 🙀yow!
4/5 - 176.8 - Probably 175.8 I drank 16ozs of water just before weighing. Still holding fluid from butt and leg workout. Muscles are still on a low hum😃 My knee told me, unh-unh yesterday, so no walk. It was feeling unstable. Stretching and balance exercises accomplished. Raining today, but if it doesn't pour down, I may go for a walk in it. 40g carbs, 29g net carbs. Carbs were: cauliflower, peanut butter, mexican squash w/vidalia onions.

04/03 153 Off to a strong start! Yesterday I ate well, though I continue to struggle with meeting my protein goal of 60 grams. I'm always under. It's hard on just 1200 calories! How much that affects my fat loss, I don't know. Tomorrow I predict I'll be up by a few due to fast food meals with a lot of sodium...
04/04 153.6 I'll focus on the positive first: I made my step goal yesterday. Don't laugh when you read this- I did 2000 steps. You read that right. I have mobility issues and I'm usually at 1000 or less, so this was an accomplishment for me! Now for the negative...oh, wait, it's not as bad as I predicted! Only up by 0.6 lbs. Whew!
04/05 152.6 I did 3,267 steps yesterday just walking around the house more, and I'm so proud of myself. I got to eat grilled cheese and tomato basil soup with my family last night by tracking portions (half the sandwich, butter measured carefully, measured amount of soup).
I feel like I'm going to be successful this time because I'm doing 3 things in conjunction I've never done before: (1) weighing DAILY, (2) logging every bite and sticking to my calories DAILY, (3) giving and getting support from the MFP community DAILY. Oh, and perhaps equally important: I'm being patient and forgiving, trusting the process enough not to freak out and give up if I stall or gain. This is a mindset shift, not a diet!

At least one of the events is an organized run, downside is it starts and ends at a yummy brewery! I already got up early today and completed a 2.5 mile run, since I usually run on Thursday evenings and I didn't last night.

Second round! I'm keeping my same goals of tracking at least 10,000 steps a day on my Fitbit, going to the gym or working out at home when I have it scheduled on my calendar, and averaging a little under my calorie goals to fit in unexpected treats and/or beers. I'm aiming for a 2 lb. loss again as well.

Day/Weight/Comment
04/03 187.2 lb Big drop mostly fueled by a busy schedule and little appetite. I missed going to the gym in favor of taking the dog for a longer walk and giving myself a little bit of down time before rehearsal. 11,906 steps were tracked and I'm drinking TONS of water and tea. We're getting take-out for dinner, so I won't be surprised to maintain this weight or see a gain tomorrow morning.
04/04 187.2 lb 12,636 steps were tracked and I came to the conclusion that taking time to change into my walking shoes from my work shoes makes a BIG difference on how far I'm willing to walk my dog. Calories were pretty good, but I needed to guess how many calories were in our dinner, so I'm sure it's off in terms of calories and sodium. The cluttered schedule continues with rehearsals for a different ensemble until 6:00pm and then I need to catch up on some bookkeeping and payroll for the wind ensemble I play in.
04/05 185.4 lb Another drop, but I'm pretty sure it's from some stress I've been feeling at work. 16,174 steps were tracked and calories were way under. I have a workout scheduled on my calendar for this afternoon and then we have opening night for Chicago. The kids are going to be great!

Hi everyone, I am back for another round. So I am still floating around the low 150's, still waiting for that whoosh to get me into the elusive 140's. This round ends on a Friday and only has 1 weekend in it, so it should go well. No out of town events or anything crazy happening the next couple of weeks, so would love to get some real progress done in the next 10 days, but we will see. Ended the last round at 150.4, my body loves the 150's so much it doesn't want to let go for anything, lol. My goal this round is 149 anything, same as the last 2 rounds. Good luck everyone, glad to see that you are all coming back!
04/03 - 149.6 yyyeeeaahhh!!! I finally made it back here. It has taken some work though. Did well yesterday, did have an alcoholic drink once I got home last night, but other than that no bread and no sweets. Now just to continue to stay in this decade and not go back up. I officially only have 9.6 pounds left to lose. I am in single digits, lol.
04/04 - 148.8 What in the **** is going on. I can't believe I had another drop. I hit 150 something on 3/13 and could not budge from that number. Now I have had 2 nice drops on the scale in 2 days. I'm taking it and hoping to stay the course. I have officially lost 30 pounds as of today. I started trying to lose weight in July of 2018 and it has taken me a little longer than I thought it would. My initial time frame was 5 - 6 months to lose the whole 40 pounds I wanted to lose. 9 months and 30 pounds later I am still not at goal weight, but I am getting closer. Pretty much my average monthly weight loss is just over 3 pounds instead of the 6-8 I was striving for. Oh well, I finally made it to the 30 pound mark, so I am going to pat my self on the back and keep trucking. It's so funny because last week I was so frustrated and overwhelmed with the lack of progress I almost gave up. I'm glad I didn't and kept pushing my self. Somebody posted a couple of weeks ago that they actually weighed what their drivers license said they did, so I looked at mine. Well I put 150, which was obviously not the truth, but I actually weigh less than that now. No alcohol, bread, or sweets yesterday and staying on plan for today. My hubby and I do have date night with another couple planned, but I said I would drive (that way I have the perfect excuse not to drink any extra calories tonight). I love a good beer or cocktail on date night, but I will sacrifice the next couple of weeks to get where I want to be.
04/05 - 148.1 Didn't lose anything for weeks and in 3 days I lose 2 pounds. I am definitely expecting an uptick pretty soon. I only ate about 600-700 calories yesterday. I was slammed at work all day so only ate about 400 calories during the day and then by the time I got home, fed the family, did homework with kids, and then got ready myself, I was out of time. I grabbed a piece of grilled chicken I had cooked and a couple of bites of the mac and cheese and we left. Since I was driving I only drank ice tea at the bar and chose not to get any of the appetizers even though I was still kind of hungry. Normally I would have easily ate and drank a 1000 if not more calories last night, so I'm happy that I stayed the course. The play was good that we went to see and I had fun with our friends and my hubby, so all in all it was a great date night. Busy weekend scheduled like always, so hopefully I can stay on track and not gain to much for Mondays weigh in.

Day/Weight/Comment
4/3 161.8 First day back on track officially, thanks to my husband for leading the way. It's been an emotional 2019 but I can only control myself and only change myself, so here goes! It took me 4 months last time to lose 15 lbs, lets make this even better. I know the cycle doesn't start until tomorrow, but I am tired of postponing so here I am right now.
4/4 161.8 Have my day planned out, started with a 20 minute meditation, then walked the dogs with my child. Ate breakfast and logged it, will have a light lunch and early dinner. Yesterday was an emotional throw in the towel day but I'm back on track today.
160.8 Good day yesterday, met my goals. Today's goals Meditate 20 min, walk with my child and dogs, deliver work stuff, stay on course with my eating. Grateful that I have this resource to come back to and for the accountability.
