8/21: 225.6 (-0.6)/19.1 (-0.1). There was a lunch celebration/going away party at work yesterday. I was very mindful about what I ate, and particularly how much. I also skipped dessert completely. Dinner was not the healthiest thing I've ever had, but I chose carefully in order to stay within calories. Today was a victory in that this was a situation in the past in which I may have very easily been derailed. I'm going to try again tonight to hit the gym. I need to check in with my wife before she leaves work to confirm that she is going to make it home on time; otherwise I'll go by myself.
8/22: 225.8 (+0.2)/19.1 (0.0). Food quantity has been pretty good, but I could do better on food quality. And exercise has GOT to make its way back into my life at some point as well. I think basketball is not coming back for another two weeks (first day will likely be 9/7/2019).

08/21- 172.4 Today’s drop is probably just water weight. I played a lot of tennis yesterday in humid conditions so not getting too excited about the numbers yet.
08/22- 173.3 Just as I expected. Kept calories low but I figured the weight would go back up a little once I was properly hydrated. No planned activity yesterday or for the next few days. May need to get on the treadmill (which I hate!!!)

I'm back and hoping to get rid of the almost 10 pounds I "gained" in the last round. I know it isn't a real gain, but it's still very annoying. I was dealing with hormones and the a death in the family last round, so it just wasn't a great round for me. I have been doing this long enough to know that freaking out isn't going to do anything and I just need to get back on the horse and take care of business. I just found out we will be leaving on the last day of this round and going to Texas for my father-in-laws funeral services. So I have 10 days to get back down, so that I can take a 4 day weekend and hopefully do better than last weekend.

08/21 - 145.1 and just like that, there goes 3 pounds of sodium/stress weight overnight. Crazy what a little bit of water and eating at home does for you. Today is all set and I should be down more tomorrow. Things are finally calming down at home and after a long drive by the lake last night to clear our heads, my husband and I slept like babies. Amazing how you feel so different after a great nights sleep.
08/22 - 144.1 was within calories and probably would have been lower, but I chose to use soy sauce on my rice last night for dinner. So my sodium was way higher for the day than it should have been. As long as I can get back down to 142/141 something by the end of this round and stay there for a couple of days I will be happy.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

08/21 - 206!! Yay! Starting this round out with a drop. Didn't sleep very much and have a bad migraine today, will probably not exercise but I'll at least take the dog for a walk. Sticking to my macro/calorie goals with my meal plan and hoping to feel better tomorrow
08/22 - 206.3! No clue what made it go up a bit but I'm starting to learn my weight fluctuates all the time so I'm trying to focus on the trend which is definitely going down. My TOM is probably not helping anything here either. Stuck to calories/macros, didn't exercise very much just walking

I took the last round off as I dealt with some mental/emotional issues I was dealing with and even though I didn't post I did weigh every day. Now my head is back in the game and I am back for the next round.

8/21:211.2 There are 3 snacks that I love to eat and that I can eat without problems from my food sensitivities. Usually I eat 2 or 3 of these snacks every evening even if I'm not hungry. So yesterday I told my husband that I would only allow myself one snack each evening and that he could call me out if I ate more than one. So, last night I had one snack and it was interesting as I really became more aware of whether I was truly hungry or not or whether it was just boredom that has me snacking in the evening. This morning I also didn't feel as bloated. Run tonight.

@quiltingjaine That's a great idea. I might be in my head too much about this. I mean, I do see a difference and I'm happy with how loose everything's gotten, but on the other hand, I also don't feel liberated to wear anything I want to like I thought I would. I feel like I want to cover up my flaws, which probably adds a lot of extra bulk to my appearance. And there's still the problem of flabby arms and a gooey stomach lol! That's not my imagination or some kind of mild body dysmorphia; I am squish-alicious! But a photo may help me appreciate my progress better. Thanks for the support.5

@Snowflake 1968, I know it's discouraging, but patience and persistence plus following MFP calories really works! Try to be easier on yourself. If you love pizza, then have it every single week! I do. And you can see from my posts that it doesn't hurt me. I have continued to lose by incorporating all of my favorite treats (in way smaller portions!). Maybe a small start for you is to build in a favorite treat or meal every day so you don't experience the temptation to overdo it and beat yourself up about it. Try to let go of all-or-nothing thinking because it's not true that you have to be "perfect" to see results.8

08/22 150.7 ~ {Steps 18,930} ~ Slow and steady is fine with me, {finishing first isn’t important ~ being successful is important} . This last week, I haven’t eaten after 5:00pm 99% of the time, my carbTh into is slightly higher. I’ve had a couple real days to refuel and I’m not COMPLETELY cutting out sugar. “I have a sugar addiction” This is what’s working for me at the present time. Until it blows up in my face, lol, this is my plan for now! 👍🏼👍🏼

08/21 185.8 whaaa? I can't believe I'm back where I started from the beginning of last round! Dumb! but the upside is that my scale does "body fat percentage" and it was 2% lower than yesterday. Maybe all those empty fat cells are hanging on to some water and it's all gonna whoosh away! fingers crossed! Did incline ladders on the the treadmill and it went by so fast, I highly recommend it!
08/22 totally forgot to get on the scale today. we shall see what it says tomorrow.

08/21 128.8 Starting off in the right direction and below the ending weight from Round 85! Had a whoosh at the end of last round and worried that it would just bounce right back up at the start of this round. Yesterday was the first day of the first workout in the Strong workout program (an updated version of NROLW) so workout regime will be shifting this round. Bought a new scale with BF% etc so will be tracking that with increasing weight training. Interestingly both it and my old scale are in pretty close agreement (128.8 old vs 128.6 new) but higher than the Dr office scale today 127.8 (and at least 1 pound for clothing!) For consistency I am sticking with my scales. NSV: no longer pre-diabetic and LDL cholesterol dropped another 15%, down to 174; HDL-C increased to 101, while triglycerides dropped to 44 with exercise and diet changes! Dr no longer pushing statin! He expects since that it is responsive to current program it will drop further, so will check back in February, when I am hopefully in maintenance!

08/22 127.5 Whoosh! getting back on track with long term trend line so just may recover for August! BMI is now in the 25's and 0.4 lbs away from the big 50! 08/21 385.8 (-1.8) I got my 2nd order of imperfect fruit and veggies today and I am ready to eat healthy! My job made a new rule we can't eat at our desk now so that will help me. I am sure I will eat at my desk, but I will not eat as much since it is a rule NOT to do so. I guess we are back in school now. really? But I am going to use it as a plus for me. Today went very good for me. I ate a small snack on my 2 breaks. Ate gum and drunk water and I was good. A win win for me. We had a ice cream social today so I may gain tomorrow. It was a good splurge…. yummy. I was over my points today. Back on it tomorrow.
I had my physical yesterday. It went well. My doctor is so great! I had already emailed her that I had gained weight. She did not even mention my 11-pound weight gain, but we did map out a plan for my knees. and she is going to call me in a week after she talks with another one of my doctors. No diabetes or high blood pressure yet and she commended on that and did not chew me out for not coming in for over 4 months. My goal is to get under 350 by January 1st. It is a more realistic goal than getting in the 200's. Whenever I get around 350 to 340 it gets harder to lose weight. This weight is a set point weight for me if any of you are familiar with set point weights. I lost 5 lbs. last challenge. I am going to shoot for 7 this challenge since I am increasing my activity. I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.

I'm going back home on Thursday after 5 weeks vacation so I'm going to start losing again. I want to lose another 9kg {20lbs} this year which will put me at the low end of my goal and give me wriggle room!
08/21 64.1kg wooohooo! Not sure why the loss but I'm ready for it as I haven't really lost this month. I was happy to maintain while away but I'm even happier to start losing again.
08/22 63.8kg. Normal bmi!!! Really wasn't expecting another loss. Travel day today so 7/8 hours in a car over a few rough roads. I've packed my lunch so no snacks for me!
08/23 63.8kg which is fine. Happy to be back home even if it means going back to work soon.

Back from holiday - 3 weeks with our touring caravan from the UK through France, Germany, Austria and Slovenia for 2 amazing weeks in Croatia with a few days also in Venice. Lots of good food (including cheese and gelato!) and wine obviously. Not getting the "but it's nice to be home" vibe though
But back to it - aim to get holiday gain off over the next couple of rounds!!
08/21 - 140.1lb (+6.3lb) Ouch although did weigh only a few hours after getting home in the early hours!
08/22 - 137.0lb (-3.1lb) Guess this is the initial whoosh from our road trip and a long couple of days in the car - leaves me with 3.2lb of holiday gain left to work on. Not too upset with this as a gain from a 3 week holiday though - feeling positive! Aiming to keep drinking plenty and get back to eating normally.
Exam results day here for my 16 year old, college sign-up day and cheer try outs for a new team along with catching up with washing and ironing so going to be a testing day!
08/23 - 138.0lb (+1.0lb) Daughter got the results she needed so all signed up for college to study Fine Art, Sports Science and Psychology #proudmum Ended up eating out last night and late as straight from college sign up to cheer tryouts which all seemed to go well - just the wait to hear on a team placement today hopefully.... so understand why and don't mind the 1lb gain. Long Bank holiday weekend here ahead to catch up with friends and family so just aiming to stay a bit focused as far as possible. Guess some sort of normality will return next Tuesday as I'm back to work and the the following week youngest starts at secondary school and then college starts too .... Back to land of crazy

08/21 - 192.8. -5lbs. This is my first weigh in since starting 21 Day Fix 10 days ago and going lower carb so much of this is probably water weight but im happy!!
08/22 - 193.2 (+0.4) carbby /salty dinner last night
08/23 - 194.8 (+1.6) this one I'm surprised with. I did 17000 steps yesterday and a short workout and my fitbit said I burned about 3000 calories but only ate 1500. I had a shwarma salad for dinner from a restaurant. Maybe it's really high in sodium? Not worried - just surprised.

08/21 – 141 – Due to a couple medical issues I’ve just discovered, I’m having to restrict a number of my food choices. Most of them involve any type of fat. Since I also have to increase my water intake, it will be interesting to see how my weight fluctuates.
08/22 – 141.5 – I’m definitely trending lower this week than I have for a while.

Round 87 goals: be consistent. Low carb, no alcoholic beverages,
08/21: 212. This is to be expected. Big Chinese buffet last night for DSs birthday. I had planned a fast for the rest of the week but I think it might be a better idea to wait and just be consistent with low calories & proper macros for this round
08/22 209.2. There we go, bye bye Chinese buffet! Hopefully the rest of this round goes like yesterday. I am not getting any organized exercise but I was active yesterday.
08/23: 207.8. I just need to remember to trust that my body works & that it will release the weight if I do the work. I am glad I made the decision to not fast this round. This is all just water loss from some not so great decisions last week. I feel prepared to continue to make good decisions & food choices today.
