08/22 182 didn’t think I’d lose anything from yesterday since I went off my meal plan. Had a cheat meal as well as a beer at the Dodger game.

08/21 …..196.7 Gain ….. Went out of town to various resale shops yesterday. Lunch was DQ. I should have skipped the Blizzard from Hell. Weight & glucose up today. 2200 Calories In / 2448 Calories Out. 183 Carbs. 9783 Total Steps & 4.4 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 13 minutes. I did 63 minutes of heavy yard work & I walked for 44 minutes in my neighborhood to offset my lunch. Total extra burn was 529 calories. It’s true….You can’t outrun the fork!
08/22 …..196.2 Loss ….. Being higher on the scale than the end of last round doesn’t cut the mustard & I hate playing ketchup! Anyway, a nice half pound drop overnight so my hard work paid off yesterday. Yesterday’s stats: 1146 Calories In / 2853 Calories Out. 24 Net Carbs mostly fresh zucchini. 16,629 Total Steps & 7.04 Total Miles. 13/13 fitbit step hours. I slept 5 hours & 3 minutes. I walked for 71 minutes yesterday with neighbor & her dog, did yard work including weed pulling & transplanting for 56 minutes and I did some moderately light house cleaning for 30 minutes. Total extra calorie burn was 875. I am feeling strong again today. I travel on Monday so I am trying to be extra mindful until then.
08/23 …..194.4 Loss ….. For an old lady, I was Super Woman yesterday. All well-planned & intended. I sure wish I could be on point like this everyday! Yesterday’s stats: 1112 Calories In / 3235 Calories Out. 29 Net Carbs including an indulgence in an Atkins bar & 8 oz of Fairlife 20% milk. 17,263 Total Steps & 7.3 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 24 minutes. I did yard work including weeding & transplanting for 76 minutes. I did rigorous tourist cabin cleaning for 120 minutes. I did the elliptical for 13 minutes. I did low-impact aerobics for 13 minutes and I took a 53 minute walk at a moderately brisk pace with my 2 yr old grandson in stroller & my friend & her lovely dog. Extra calorie burn 1573. I am so proud of myself since I have been struggling with control since last Thanksgiving! I hope to keep up the momentum!

I will be flushing today with lots of water. I will also be extra strict & mindful of my dietary limits today. I’m not worried & its refreshing that I can realize that its okay & move forward with my goals & plan. Yesterday’s stats: 1519 Calories In / 2783 Calories Out. 106 Net Carbs. 12,219 Total Steps & 5.17 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 5 hours & 5 minutes & realized that its been a bit since I slept 3 – 4 hours. Hitting 5 or 6 has been nice. I walked slow & leisurely for 48 minutes, rigorously clean tourist cabins for 100 minutes & walked at a 3.0 mph moderate pace for 14 minutes Total extra calorie burn was 726 calories. Today will be a blessed day & I will be on point.

08/21 DNW we were away for a couple days at the lake. No internet or scales so I was really winging it in terms of logging. Did dip into some chips and ice cream. Got in loads of exercise though. Family enjoyed a beautiful 6.5 mile hike.

08/23 148.8 feel good going into the weekend. Will be back at the lake for the next couple of days before heading back to work after 7 weeks off. I’ve been committed to my health goals (working out, logging meals, staying under calorie budget ). Going back to work will bring new challenges to these goals but I know what I need to do. I’ll really need to focus on meal planning and prepping and waking up early to get the workouts in. Nobody said this was easy. I’m so grateful to have had the last few weeks to focus on my goals and happy that I’ve seen progress. That is huge motivation to keep keeping on when work starts and life gets busy.

I'm back and hoping to get rid of the almost 10 pounds I "gained" in the last round. I know it isn't a real gain, but it's still very annoying. I was dealing with hormones and the a death in the family last round, so it just wasn't a great round for me. I have been doing this long enough to know that freaking out isn't going to do anything and I just need to get back on the horse and take care of business. I just found out we will be leaving on the last day of this round and going to Texas for my father-in-laws funeral services. So I have 10 days to get back down, so that I can take a 4 day weekend and hopefully do better than last weekend.

08/21 - 145.1 and just like that, there goes 3 pounds of sodium/stress weight overnight. Crazy what a little bit of water and eating at home does for you. Today is all set and I should be down more tomorrow. Things are finally calming down at home and after a long drive by the lake last night to clear our heads, my husband and I slept like babies. Amazing how you feel so different after a great nights sleep.
08/22 - 144.1 was within calories and probably would have been lower, but I chose to use soy sauce on my rice last night for dinner. So my sodium was way higher for the day than it should have been. As long as I can get back down to 142/141 something by the end of this round and stay there for a couple of days I will be happy.
08/23 - 142.1 And I am back here. I think this is a realistic weight for me right now. I have been at 142.xxx for 10 out of 23 days this month. I have been lower and higher, but it always comes back to here. Hopefully I can consistently see 141 before leaving next Friday, but you never know what's going to happen. Was very low cal all day yesterday and should be today as well.
08/24 - 142.1 Was on point again yesterday. Cleaning, laundry, errands, and grocery shopping is on the to do list today. So hopefully I don’t fall off the wagon this weekend.

08/21 128.8 Starting off in the right direction and below the ending weight from Round 85! Had a whoosh at the end of last round and worried that it would just bounce right back up at the start of this round. Yesterday was the first day of the first workout in the Strong workout program (an updated version of NROLW) so workout regime will be shifting this round. Bought a new scale with BF% etc so will be tracking that with increasing weight training. Interestingly both it and my old scale are in pretty close agreement (128.8 old vs 128.6 new) but higher than the Dr office scale today 127.8 (and at least 1 pound for clothing!) For consistency I am sticking with my scales. NSV: no longer pre-diabetic and LDL cholesterol dropped another 15%, down to 174; HDL-C increased to 101, while triglycerides dropped to 44 with exercise and diet changes! Dr no longer pushing statin! He expects since that it is responsive to current program it will drop further, so will check back in February, when I am hopefully in maintenance!

08/23 126.6 Whoosh number 2 ?!?! will take it while it lasts, but making up the gain from last round! The kids had a sleep over tonight so DH and I planned a nice dinner out (after 2 full days of a dept retreat which culminated with wine/cheese). Likely over calories for the day (gave up tracking carefully after a couple of glasses), but NSV was that I hit the 50 lbs lost mark today!!!! (may get to celebrate this again later in the round given tonight's calories but need to take time to celebrate the wins! Given that the last few days I was under goal for calories, a "zigzag" refeed may be helpful. In any case, will weigh in tomorrow and hit the gym as still have another 16.6 lbs to go!

Good work out at gym this morning - step class and then workout 1A from Strong. Will try to do some intervals before heading out to work reception this evening. Will try to be in more control of alcohol/food tonight to not have another bump tomorrow (one cheat day a week ideally), but otherwise it will be back to basics with logging and exercise for the rest of the week!

8/21 - 143.0 Slight fluctuation up from where I ended last round, but all within normal range. Yesterday was good - no snacking, ate my packed lunch, dinner came together well (another easy favorite: Gnocchi Skillet with Sweet Potatoes, Green, & Goat Cheese. I add sliced chicken sausage too, and it comes out to about 500 calories/10 oz serving). No workout but I had enough energy for some tasks around the house that I've been putting off for a while. All in all, feeling good!
8/22 - 142.2 **New Low** Ok, I know this instant gratification train will have to end at some point but I'm just enjoying ever stop along the way right now! Yesterday was on point: ate exactly what I pre-logged (breakfast shake, coffee, meal prepped chicken bowls for lunch, apple for daytime snack, and leftover chicken tacos for dinner). I shifted my gym schedule around this week, so I was able to do a different class than normal yesterday and I think I need to make it part of my regular routine! A lot of tough sets that included kettlebells, resistance bands, medicine balls, body weight exercises that leaned slightly toward a leg day, but really worked out the whole body. Even though I've been slacking on my pushup practice, when it came time to do a pushup as part of a set, I jumped right down and knocked out 3 in a row on my toes! Started packing for the beach last night by trying on some bathing suits - welcome back to the rotation, pre-baby bikinis! I feel like one or two even look BETTER than they did before I got pregnant. Tonight I have a dinner/banquet type meeting at a restaurant with some pretty rich food. I'm eating a light lunch in preparation, and just plan to be very mindful of what I put on my plate and when I get full.
8/23 - 142.0 **New Low** A little unexpected, but I'll take it! Yesterday was pretty good, even though I did have two glasses of wine and some dessert at my dinner. But I tracked it as best I could, and didn't snack once I got home. Hope everyone is having a very happy Friday!

Yesterday’s eating was right where it needed to be, along with water. 08/23 - 204.4!! Holy cow, what a drop! Doubt I'll stay this low through the rest of the week but it makes me feel good to see a 4 on the scale 🤩 Did a really intense workout today and am sticking to cals/macros so hopefully I continue to make progress
08/24 - 204.4 again! Wahoo! I was sure yesterday's weigh-in was a fluke but I didn't fluctuate at all overnight. I'm sure I'll fluctuate again later but at least this means that 4 wasnt a total fluke. Will try to kayak later today and sticking well to my food goals today. My FH is having a boys weekend at our house this weekend and their wives cancelled our girls weekend at the last minute so I'm going to try to keep myself busy with hikes and kayaks and chores so I'm not awkwardly in the way of their boy-time. 8/21 - 157.5 - the catch up from the carb-o-licious Monday. Made it to the pool and could actually get in finally! I’m 6 weeks post-op and my restrictions are lifted. T-minus 2 weeks until I return to work!
8/22 - 156.5 - the turn around in eating makes all the difference. And sticking to it. I was “lazy” yesterday. Swam, ran errands, watched Supernatural on Netflix, did very little cleaning, but I made sure to watch my food and drink my water. I’m hooked on “pork rind chips” for a crunchy snack lately. I can season them with whatever sounds good at the time and crunch away. Today is gym day and some serious cleaning.

REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

08/21: 137.4 lbs - haven't worked out in a few days (self imposed hiatus to heal my shoulder/elbow) and had a salty late night snack last night, not a good choice. Tonight will be better - my late night snacking buddy will be out of town .
08/22: 136.0 lbs - hmmm, barely ate yesterday so this will probably go back up but pretty cool to see this number. I did work out just a little last night but am back to taking time off for a couple more days. Hoping my neck/shoulder/elbow is all better before my tournament this Sunday. No LNS yesterday.
08/23: 135.6 lbs - maybe a week of not working out is just what my body needed. Planning to work out tomorrow and then I’ve got a big tournament Sunday, will see how the scale responds.

08/21 138.4, difficult boxing class yesterday but made it through. Love that there are classes I can finish now that I would have been struggling with before. Happy hour after work today so will try to bank some calories for that.
08/22 138.4, ended up eating dinner really late (9:45pm) so happy to see this number. Back to normal today with all meals prepped at home. Hoping to combat any lingering weight gain from yesterday.
08/23 138, back to my lowest weight this weight loss journey and matches a five year low. 65.7% of the way to my goal so hoping to see 2/3rds by the end of the month. Going to food truck meetup tonight so weight might be up a bit tomorrow for sodium, but will keep my calories in check.

Feel terrible both physically (body is not very used to that food anymore) and about stalling this week’s progress for a while. Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it – it's a permanent way of life !

08/21 133.0 – 9.17 miles walked yesterday – lunch out with friend, but stayed within calories for day
08/22 132.4 - 9.77 miles walked and 60 minutes of hard yoga yesterday
08/23 132.4 - 6.7 miles walked yesterday, pleased with myself & eating so far this round, need to keep it up !
08/24 133.2 - 11.22 miles walked yesterday in the wonderful Peak District; along Lady Bower reservoir and then up to and along Derwent Edge with the magnificent natural rock sculptures. Such a satisfying day!!!
08/25 134.0 going the wrong way! 11 miles walked yesterday, we certainly lived on the edge yesterday in the Peak District! Walked Baslow Edge, Curbar Edge, Froggatt Edge and back along White Edge, fantastic views and walking!
