JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~|~ Round 90 (round 22 for me ) I'm in for another round, tomorrow I will be back home and weighing in on my own scales! After a brilliant holiday. Just 4 weeks to go before our cheeky pre-Brexit break on The Algarve, must get these extra ponds off for then !
Female age 61 5' 4”
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it – it's a permanent way of life !
Round goal – lose holiday gain,; be mindful of what I eat & drink and keep walking.

09/21 137.2 – 8.55 miles walked yesterday, arrived back home at 3.30 am.; very minimal sleep & low quality dozing on the 'plane. Have 4 weeks to get rid of this holiday weight before we fly off for our next holiday! New day today!
09/22 135.6 – yes! That's what happens to holiday weight when I get back home & stop having a glass of wine with every meal!! 10 miles walked yesterday including 3 hours of intense dancing last night – brilliant!
09/23 134.8 – yes! another half a pound off. 5.5 miles walked yesterday & a really good food day
09/24 133.6 – so pleased the holiday weight is coming off quickly. 8.55 miles walked yesterday.
09/25 134.2 – 8.25 miles yesterday, CI under CO so guessing just a normal fluctuation.

09/28 135.6 – sigh! My own fault entirely – it was the Macmillan's big coffee morning here yesterday, I binged on cake . I know it's a good cause, but I could have donated the same and just had one cake; I ate there and brought some home for the family and ate them too before they got home, not only that – I seem to remember me saying exactly the same thing last year – will I ever learn ???? 9.56 miles walked yesterday, think I need to do 29 or more to compensate for the calories I consumed!!! Determined to have perfect day today.
09/29 135 – 9.78 miles walked, all macros in green and calories out well outnumbered by calories in, just didn't show up on the scales as well as Friday's binge did yesterday !!! (Sigh)

9/20 191.4 lbs 5h40m/70/10:25pm - f*cking Cecil. Up way too early, but there is zero chance of getting back to sleep now. Had a good workout yesterday, good food day, should see loss, not gain, but the sleep issue always has an impact. Long day today... hoping for a good one.

9/22 191.9 lbs 7h54m/88/10:11pm - all the Friday booze. I am not worried. I expect to have a good Combat class today and eat clean - should get me back on track.

09/20 191.4 (-0.4) did my workout and 15K steps. Sticking to this dr prescribed diet which is fairly close to keto but not as much saturated fat. In moderate ketosis this am. Probably going to drop quickly this week due to water weight.
09/21 191.6 (+0.2) 17 K steps and on plan. Tired today so didn't get to my workout.
09/22 Away. Not my scale. May weigh on another scale for comparison.
09/23 193.8 (+2.2) not surprising to have the jump. Ate off plan this weekend a bit and not very active.
09/24 191.4(-2.4) ok so the weekend blip is over. Haven't started working out again since last week so going to get to it today. Feeling skinnier though! Did my measurements and gave lost 17" in the last 6 weeks (2 rounds if 21 day fix). It's so easy to lose focus and give up too soon. I really want to learn from these last 6 weeks that even if it's not perfect, progress will still happen over time.

I might reschedule some stuff today to at least get to one. I don't think I woll have time to do Monday & Tuesdays workout but better late than never!
09/26 189.4 (-0.4) great! Did my workout finally and sticking to my eating plan. I wish I knew how much was water weight loss and how much is actual fat loss. But I do love how low carb makes you feel slimmer and not puffy from dropping all this water.

I love you ?electrolytes. I felt 80% of my normal yesterday. Got a few things accomplished. I did not reach 128 ozs of water yesterday, because I was running more errands. Today, I will.
9/21 - 185.2 - IF/21hrs/Meal times~5pm, 7pm. 18g carbs. Did not drink enough water yesterday, but I managed to get in all of my electrolytes. Took a "littles" walk with my Great Niece ? She likes to walk and I could walk her speed without too much difficulty. My hip joints and muscles are still somewhat stiff and painful, but I've got to move! Using a heating pad at night has been beneficial. Ketones detected today. Edging my way back into ketosis.
9/22 - 185.6? (183.6?) - Every once in a while my scale fuctuates wildly. I'll go with the high number. I didn't sleep that well last night and sipped water throughout. IF/19.5hrs. Meal times~ 2:30, 8pm. 19g carbs. Going to visit 2 of the Grands today at Carb Central. Lol. Thats what I'm going to start calling their home.
9/23 - 185.2 - IF/18hrs. Meal times~ 2pm, 7:30. 33g carbs, 21g net carbs. Only vegetable carbs, cabbage and squash.
9/24 - 185.6 - IF/19.5hrs. Meal times~ 3pm, 6:30. 27g carbs, 19g net carbs. I think I may weigh a little less than this, but I can never wait out my body processes 😯 before water and coffee in the morning.
9/25 - 184.6 - IF/20hrs. Meal times~ 2:30, 6:30. 32g carbs, 25g net carbs. Time to clean up the flower bed, outdoor flower pots😢 and plant some spring bulbs. The sun was so intense midsummer that even the sun loving flowers growth was stunted. Now they are flourishing. Between the heat and the deer eating my plants and flowers, it's a wonder there's anything left out there.

I've always planted bulbs in the ground, so I don't know how that will work for me. I dug them up two months ago from my front "weed beds" lol. Thats all that grows there, because the "soil" is dirt. Strength training today. My shoulders are in poor condition.

I went to Sams Club with my niece yesterday and while all baked goods smelled good and looked inviting, not interested. Fresh squeezed orange juice they were selling, I could smell 4 aisles away. So fragrant and sweet!

Every once in a while my scale fluctuates wildly like that. Don't know the reason. If it happened every day, I'd pitch it, but it is accurate. Maybe its about me and my body's fluid balance. ??? I hold fluid like crazy.

I’ve removed my goals for this round. I don’t want to call it a goal (at least for now) because that seems too focused on an end point. I’m reframing this journey as an ongoing, lifelong pilgrimage to healthy living with reaching and maintaining a healthier weight as one

Still painting! I just finished my office/studio/woman cave in a gorgeous light/medium lilac. It was paper bag tan before. I am not a dark tan person unless it’s from being outside. Omg, what a difference! Now to reassemble the room. I also painted the door from the kitchen to the laundry room an interesting bright pink and wowser! Nice happy pop of color. The laundry is newly yellow, and the door from there to the garage is bright turquoise. I think my years on the NC coast are showing.
All of which is to say that a happy-colored environment makes me happier and less likely to comfort eat. Let the painting continue! Do others of you find that colors in your environment affect your mood and behavior? Oh, and I’m having a group of friends (women) over for a potluck tomorrow to celebrate my new-this-summer garden. Still haven’t conquered the evening snack monster but I did resist the mid-afternoon urge yesterday. I pulled weeds instead. I went 3 years not sabotaging myself so I don’t understand why I’m finding this so hard now. I can’t believe I’ve gained 30 pounds since last fall. Sigh. But this round I’m not worryingly no as much about weight as about recovering my long-time healthful behaviors. You all help a lot with your inspiring posts. Thank you.

Yesterday was a good day. This evening I’m going to a monthly potluck with a women’s group I belong to, so I’ll have to be on my guard. People do bring lots of healthy offerings, but there are also always lots of sweets. My strategy is to pick one and have one bite. I’m taking a salad of baby kale with quinoa, chickpeas, tomatoes, peppers, and a whisper of lemon vinaigrette, so I can always take a decent serving of that! I hope you’re all enjoying the kind of gorgeous early fall weather we’re havin* here!

09/22 169.8 I have now lost over 10lbs since beginning to use MFP again! Water weight is still weight you carry around so I’m good with whooshing it now and getting down to focusing on fatloss soon. 1.8lbs away from being 12st again makes me happy, as I’m definitely using each stone as a milestone. Yesterday I walked my 10k steps, drank more water and even had a curry I’d prepared weeks ago and frozen (definitely not diet-friendly, but I’m not going to throw out food, just work the rest of my cals for the day around it).
09/23 173 super low mood yesterday led to me eating an entire pizza. HAVE to meal prep today. Gutted.
09/24 171.2 trending back down is always good. Started a new workout class, which was very fun. I have my normal pole fitness class tonight so going to be going straight from work, preparing for a late dinner!

09/20 294.4 Ah the after weight training, high activity, high sodium, high stress bounce. I was on track with my calories despite my husband bringing home dinner, but I weighed out what was within my calorie goals.
09/21 295.0 Two words, Japanese food. So much tasty sodium filled foods. I was under calories, but oh the sodium. I don’t expect to see a drop until Tuesday because today I’m doing maintenance calories today for my son’s birthday.
09/22 296.8 My son had a nice birthday, but I overate. Thankfully I have nothing else until my anniversary next month. I should see most if not all of the weekend gain gone in a few days as most if not all of it is from sodium.
09/23 294.4 Hopefully I’ll be back down to the round start tomorrow. I’m so sore this morning because I bought a kettlebell weight yesterday and did a workout. My husband has agreed that we need to stop eating out on the weekends. It’s something that has been a little bit of an issue since the new job.

Round 89 wasn’t any better than the last few rounds. I’m going to keep joining though and keep trying. I need to get my diet under control and start doing some form of exercise again. I think I need to update my excel sheet and start tracking my numbers again that was motivating me to see the trends going down.

9/20--208.5 Lazy day yesterday. Ate some snacks when I really wasn't hungry. Gym tonight.
9/21--207.4 Weighed twice to make sure, I weighed in about 2 hours later than normal. Did not go to the gym yesterday because I was so exhausted. Going out with a friend today to a food allergy fair and then going out to eat.
9/22--208.1 The food allergy fair was great yesterday there were a lot of foods to try out and I found a couple of new foods to eat. Did a lot of walking yesterday and hardly drank any water. Strength coach today.
9/23--208.5 Uptick is definitely from all of the foods I tried at the fair 2 days ago. It also didn't help that I did some extra snacking yesterday. Great workout yesterday.
9/24--208.5 Stopped myself from having the 2nd snack last night...I wasn't even hungry. Also, I haven't run in over 5 months since I hurt my hip and then hurt my ankle. The last couple of weeks I've been antsy to get back into running, but I was worried about ankle since it's still a little sore every so often. Well, last night I said I'm going to go for a run and test my ankle out, so I started up again with W1D1 of C25K so that I could take it slow. It felt great to get back out running and there were no issues with the ankle and I've already planned a 5k run in November.

9/26--208.1 Great workout yesterday and only had one snack last night. Going for a run tonight as long as the rain holds up.
9/27--207.6 Went to the gym before work this morning, it was great. I even wore a pair of workout tights that I had packed away since they had gotten tight on me. This morning I pulled them out and they fit even though I am 20lbs heavier than the last time I could fit into them...the weightlifting is really changing my body shape. So even though the scale is not going down as quickly as I would hope, my body is definitely changing.
9/28--207.6 Surprised I stayed the same was expectinga change considering the up and downs I have had over this round. Going out for a short hike today, first hike in awhile and the weather looks good.
9/29--207.4 I had a great hike yesterday and even though I hadn't hiked for a long time the hike was pretty easy, but it hit me later in the evening and I took a nap when I got home. I'm surprised about the drop on the scale today since I thought the soreness from the hike yesterday would cause water retention to show up on the scale. Strength coach today. 09/24 - 139.7lb (+1.0lb) First weigh in since I successfully completed the charity night marathon on Saturday night. Took 9 hours and we finished at 4am and a total of 65,000 steps! Was a great night! Weigh in is still probably excess water weight from that - ate way way way more carbs than usual in the day or so before and on the night itself plus drinking loads of water during and since so not concerned. Will no doubt take a few days for my body to properly recover but I am back to eating normally and drinking plenty of water and green tea and back to the gym tonight.
09/25 - 139.3lb (-0.4lb) Waiting for a whoosh .... Carb overload bloat and now 6 days over expected TOM - ho hum! But back on a proper eating and exercise plan again and back in control which makes me feel so much better and I'll just leave the scales to do what they'll do

9/29 - 154 - didn’t eat so great, but I did stay busy and things got moving finally. The house is empty and my oldest will be living with me for a couple months so she can get her feet back under her & start recovering from an awful relationship. I can refocus again on me. Doing this has helped me see that every day isn’t going to be great, but progress comes in little steps. I stayed pretty consistent in my weight this round & I’m happy with that. I’m still moving forward, just slow & steady. I’m down 11# after 8 rounds.

9/21: 199.5 OMG! OMG! OMG! I was wondering how the eff this happened and it came to me. Yesterday I ate McDonald's for lunch, skipped dinner and had a snack of (lots of) chocolate chips and milk lol. I've been eating high sodium forever and I finally had a low sodium day yesterday so I think I finally ditched the water! PLEASE BE REAL! ;D

Disappointed with scale but I want to PROMISE everyone that I did not eat the 15,000 calories that would be required to make this jump on the scale. The water retention is the most frustrating part after a restaurant meal, but this too shall pass. The second most frustrating part is the lack of consistent movement. This also affects the calorie burn for the day. I worked hard last night at home just to get my 10,000 plus steps in! I am traveling again in just a bit for the day & evening so I will catch up on all the posts tonight.
09/27 …..198.0 ….. After travel weigh-in after two individual days of travel. Chinese for lunch and leftovers for dinner. Carbs & sodium showing up on the scale. Yesterday’s stats: 2510 Calories In / 2530 Calories Out. Approximately 128 Carbs (ugg). 14,352 Total Steps & 6.07 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit step hours which was difficult to get during travel. I slept 6 hours & 54 minutes last night which was unusual for me but badly needed. After returning home late yesterday evening I fit in an 81 minute walk on a new trail with very very rugged terrain. It was stunningly beautiful! Extra calorie burn 410. Back on track today is the plan. However, I’m not sure about exercise plan for the day. Rainy & cold today here in northern Michigan.
09/28 …..192.6 ….. Wow! 4 days of wild fluctuations due to travel meals & water retention! Usually more like “fast on, slow off”. Anyway, down to working on the real fat now! I worked very hard yesterday in many ways. With my diet I knew I wanted extra low calories to get back on track so I spread them out wisely and luckily, no sugar drop! For exercise, I ended up with a short 30 minute but very brisk walk in my neighborhood. Then I later walked in the drizzling rain and in the dark for quite some time on my acreage while talking on the phone to my cousin with the intention of burning more calories & getting more steps. Lots of steps & miles! I didn’t get too close to the woods though, lest there be bears! It is bear hunting season right now so they are in a panic I’m sure and I don’t want to get caught in their crosshairs! Yesterday’s stats: 1060 Calories In / 3213 Calories Out. 23 Net Carbs. I walked 26,236 steps & 11.12 miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 4 hours & 30 minutes getting up & down all night to shed the water. It was worth it! Today is cold & damp but the sun is starting to peak out. I have been invited by my neighbor & walking partner for a salmon dinner. I am bring my own keto friendly side to steer clear of the sweet potatos she is making. It will be a good day today.
09/29 …..192.2 ….. I made the 2 lb loss goal after a whoosh that found itself in my prayers! Another great day yesterday. Stats: 1149 Calories In / 2550 Calories Out. 16 Net Carbs. 15,218 Total Steps & 6.44 Total miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 4 minutes. I took a 2.5 mph leisure walk for 69 minutes with my walking partner & her dog Buttercup. Total extra calorie burn was 366. This round found lots of travel & a glucose problem rearing its ugly head again. Both created problems related to my diet. I remain a work in progress and I never give up on aiming for self-improvement on all fronts. I continue to love my low-carb lifestyle overall in spite of my mishaps. 09/20 127.2 I feel like I will always need to be part of this group, can it please go on forever? Although my habits are mostly squared away (12-8 eating window, track my calories, weigh in daily, that's it!), I do feel there will *never* be a day when I don't love my favorite treats and meals. Donuts, c'mon, I will heart them forever! And the only way I have found to enjoy donuts- or pizza, homemade cookies, French fries, etc.- is to stick to the habits I just outlined. I have lost 30 lbs eating everything I love, including ice cream every day. But. I. Need. This. Challenge. Accountability is everything.

09/20: 307.1 lbs (+4.0) … ugh. I’m used to the idea that fluctuations are normal and to be expected, but it’s still a kick to the gut each time it happens. Especially when it’s a bigger one like this.
09/21: 307.8 lbs (+0.7) … apparently yesterday wasn’t high enough of a water weight gain.
09/22: 304.8 lbs (-3.0) … some uptick recovery, but still up a decent chunk over my start weight for this round. Hopefully I’ll continue seeing a downward trend tomorrow. Completed Couch to 5k Week 6 Day 1 this morning.

09/24: 303.0 lbs (-1.7) … whew, what a relief. A new low, if only by .1 lb, is very welcome after a ~5 lb uptick in weight! Glad to be on the correct side of zero for this challenge now. Completed Couch to 5k Week 6 Day 2 this morning… the last workout with walking intervals in the program. I was feeling good, so I passed on the walking in the middle and turned it into a 23 minute jog instead.

09/26: 301.4 lbs (-1.1) … another new low! Sub-300 is getting closer. Completed Couch to 5k Week 6 Day 3 this morning. Workout called for a 22 minute jog, but I was able to push it to 32 minutes. Very happy with that, considering the very last workout in the program, in three weeks, aims to have you run 30 minutes. I’ve already met that goal so I can work on pace a bit now.

Mowed the lawn last night (push mower; I retired my riding mower this year to get more exercise), had my C25k run this morning (Couch to 5k Week 7 Day 1 complete!) and cleaned out the garage this afternoon. 22: 219.7 Today will be a bit of an adjustment day. I updated my macro/calorie goals to reflect my current weight because oddly MFP doesn't automatically do it. Now I'm working with 110 less calories. I'm sure I'll be fine because I frequently wasn't needing my full calories anyway, but there have been days when I've needed them.
23: 218.9 Yesterday was easier than I thought. Even with the lowered calorie allowance, I still ended up with a 400 calorie deficit without exercising. The jeans I've been wearing are feeling really big, but I don't own the size smaller. So I tried in the pair that's 2 sizes smaller, and what do you know, they fit! Tight, but they're stretchy so I wore them around the house for a few hours. They're JUST comfortable enough to wear now. 🤸🤸🤸

09/20 207. I am surprised by the pop up. I think I had a fever last night for some unknown reason, but I feel back to normal this morning. Hopefully my weight pops back down tomorrow.

09/23 207.2. Happy Fall Equinox! Today I begin an extended fast. No matter what I am going to muscle through to next Sunday, but I hope to go 10 days for some true healing.
09/24 206. I was successful at fasting yesterday & expect that today will be the same. I feel strong & determined
09/25 203.2. For the first time ever I am successfully fasting. I have not had a nibble of food. I am drinking coffee & water & taking my supplements. I am active & I feel good. I have mentally prepared for this fast since the spring equinox.
09/26 202.2. Yesterday I felt so good about fasting. Then I got really hungry after yoga. To be fair I did get almost 14000 steps & did a 1 hour hot yoga class. I feel good this morning, a little tired.
09/27 203. I ended my fast last night. I wasn’t feeling great & I was hungry. I am a little disappointed I didn’t push through but I still beat my last longest fast by an hour.
09/28 203.8. Yesterday was a good day until we got home from DSshickey game & I did what I swore I wouldn’t do after this fast… i only want to eat 3 meals no snacking but I became a LNS monster. Oh well, we have nothing unhealthy in the house so not much chance of any real damage.
09/29 204.6. Not much to say... normal bounce back from fasting & not 100% in control
