"Sometimes we make the process more complicated than we need to. We will never make a journey of a thousand miles by fretting about how long it will take or how hard it will be. 09/20 191.4 (-0.4) did my workout and 15K steps. Sticking to this dr prescribed diet which is fairly close to keto but not as much saturated fat. In moderate ketosis this am. Probably going to drop quickly this week due to water weight.
09/21 191.6 (+0.2) 17 K steps and on plan. Tired today so didn't get to my workout.
09/22 Away. Not my scale. May weigh on another scale for comparison.
09/23 193.8 (+2.2) not surprising to have the jump. Ate off plan this weekend a bit and not very active.
09/24 191.4(-2.4) ok so the weekend blip is over. Haven't started working out again since last week so going to get to it today. Feeling skinnier though! Did my measurements and gave lost 17" in the last 6 weeks (2 rounds if 21 day fix). It's so easy to lose focus and give up too soon. I really want to learn from these last 6 weeks that even if it's not perfect, progress will still happen over time.
09/25 189.8 (-1.6) woohoo!! Ok I feel like I'm finally making progress! I still haven't gotten into my workout routine - yesterday was a 18 hour day and I just couldn't do it. I might reschedule some stuff today to at least get to one. I don't think I woll have time to do Monday & Tuesdays workout but better late than never!
09/26 189.4 (-0.4) great! I even "risked it" and had two whiskey diet cokes last night (which usually spikes my weight). Pleased there's still a drop. Did my workout finally and sticking to my eating plan. I wish I knew how much was water weight loss and how much is actual fat loss. But I do love how low carb makes you feel slimmer and not puffy from dropping all this water.

09/26 - 160.5 - Lots of sweets yesterday. I ended up working an accidental 13h day and didn't get home until the time I normally shower and head to bed. Today is going to be long, as well. I'm also having tummy issues so I'm wondering if I'm holding on to weight because I don't feel well. Think its just stress. I was going to put in "vacation" hours on Monday but between Tuesday and Wednesday, I've comped my entire vacation day. If today goes as planned, I'll get off work early tomorrow on comp time, as well. Just have to finish these unit tests before I can leave. BF leaves Sunday for 3 weeks and misses youngest kid's bday as well as mine so we are doing early birthday for the kiddo on Saturday. Hoping I don't have to work. I'll work a few extra hours over my 40 this week if it means not working Saturday.

09/25 - Not too bad, actually. I know some of this is dehydration as we drove 25 hours and 1500 miles between Friday and Monday (limited potty breaks) and then I had to drive to/from Kansas City (4 hour round trip) for work yesterday and was in meetings all day (more limited potty breaks). Today is the rehydration day. Have canned soup for lunch and some frozen chicken breast because I haven't been shopping.

Round 89 wasn’t any better than the last few rounds. I’m going to keep joining though and keep trying. I need to get my diet under control and start doing some form of exercise again. I think I need to update my excel sheet and start tracking my numbers again that was motivating me to see the trends going down.

Sept 25 - 188.8 - pizza and cheese bread, need I say more?

STG: 120 (next milestone and 10 pounds to goal weight)
Goals for 10 day Challenge: loose 1.9 pounds (optimistic :-) but reach next milestone of 120.0!
Day/Weight/Comment
09/20 120.8 Starting off like last round with a 1.1 lb drop at the start! Whooshes like this tend to be followed by bumps up, plateaus, and then drops as weight stabilizes, so hope that it stabilizes soon! Weight day (deadlift, lunges, push-ups, inverted rows, and planks with cable rows) + 30 minute spin class, so won’t be surprised with water retention tomorrow. Feel like I wrote this 10 days ago too :-) Going for sushi/sashimi today and hopefully with pre-planning today it is IIFYM! Hope everyone has a great weekend!
09/21 120.8 No hugs needed! I am thrilled that my weight is the same as yesterday! My usual pattern with JGM10D over the last several rounds is to have a whoosh the first day, then a 1+ lb gain the next day, a plateau for several days, then small drops to end up a little bit below the first day. Holding the drop the first day is fantastic!!!! Xtrain (spin + HIIT) for cardio today; otherwise rest. Calories good so far! 10.8 lbs to goal!
09/22 120.4 Yeah!!! Holding the whoosh so far! Xtrain this morning - got new gym shoes yesterdays which felt great for the non-cycle part of class! Feel the beginning of a mild cold coming on, so going to take it easy the rest of the day. Live littleneck clams and local garlic, so having clams and linguine for dinner tonight. (cheat day for carbs) Should still be IIFYM with preplanning. May actually make STG this round!
09/23 119.8 Woohoo!!!! Made STG of 120.0. And my lowest weight in the last 13+ years. Less than 10s to goal!!! (of course expect this may bounce up tomorrow as today is strength day, but the ups will even out!) After previous diets that restricted calories or carbs, nice to be able to fit in avocado toast and linguine IIFYM and still lose weight.
09/24 120.9 Well not unexpected given the quick drops so far and that yesterday was strength training day; still down 1 lb so far for the round which is great for 5 days in! Still have another 5 days to get back to that low and STG!
09/25 119.6 Whoosh Take 2. Back down below 120 and a new low. Strength training this am and spin class in the evening. Did not get enough sleep last night - got to bed late and woke up at 4 due to breathing issues with this lingering cold, only to get up at 6:30 - really noticed the lack of energy by the end of the day so going to get more rest tonight!!!
09/26 120.4 Bouncing around 120, but still there is a downward trend! (and loss over the last 7 days is still on track so not worried about this bounce) Got more sleep last night, but still feeling a bit under the weather. Going out for dinner (but know the nutrition info) so going to try to enter meals earlier in the day so that I still have room for an evening snack! (Have been wanting to try the Quest Protein Nacho cheese chips so need to figure out where to fit them in :-) Hopefully will get back below STG over the next 3 days! Cardio day and some core work

9/20 No scale
9/21 164.7 woohoo!!!!
9/22 163.6 Not sure what’s up with this but I’m happy! I restarted this journey at 213... I’m down 50 pounds! I carried my 26-pound niece around yesterday until I thought my arms would fall off. (Toddlers have bad days and I spoil her- don’t judge) But I use to carry twice that all the time.
9/23 164.7 I knew yesterday was an anomaly. That's ok, I'll see that weight for real soon enough. I really was bad about exercise last week and over the weekend. I did housework and yard work but no actual gym time or walking. My leg is definitely better but I'm waiting for the two weeks the doc suggested. So I'm off to the gym after work for a little bike ride. IT has reignited my desire to ride a real bike more. If I haven't said it lately I love this challenge! Now it's time to catch up on your journeys.
9/24 165.1 Not sure why I'm up. My sodium and calories were in line yesterday and the day before. Unless there was unexpected sodium in the sandwich I ate out on Sunday. TOM is here (a little early) so maybe it's that. Just an overnight trip to St. Louis this week, I'm coming home tomorrow afternoon. IT's beautiful and I know I said I was going to wait to walk until Friday but instead I'm going today.
9/25 No Scale Still feeling a little puffy so probably not down. I did walk yesterday. Three miles along the river, it was fantastic! I want to walk again today but I think it would be smart to let the leg have a break. I am going to the gym to do weights though. We'll see what the scale says tomorrow. At least the weather is cooperating.
9/26 166.7 Sodium. Why did I have a turkey sandwich for dinner? I was over yesterday on calories by more than 300 calories. No biggie in the big scheme of things. I hope to lose the water weight before the end of the round. Back in the office today and we are ordering lunch out. I looked up the restaurant (Tropical Smoothie Cafe). I was excited because it looked like there would be good options. The calories were workable but then I looked down at sodium (my nemesis) and guess what they're all very high. I hate that. More than one item had over 2000mg. MFP suggests 2300 for the day. ARGH!!!8 -

9/20: 202.3 I ate late, consumed a lot of sodium and tom. I definitely came in under my calorie goal and took 8000 steps (which is great for me lol) ;D
9/21: 199.5 OMG! OMG! OMG! I was wondering how the eff this happened and it came to me. Yesterday I ate McDonald's for lunch, skipped dinner and had a snack of (lots of) chocolate chips and milk lol. I've been eating high sodium forever and I finally had a low sodium day yesterday so I think I finally ditched the water! PLEASE BE REAL! ;D
9/22: 200 ughhhh! Lol it was too good to be true! Oh well! I killed it at the gym today so it's going away again real soon. Going out for dinner today sooo might go up again tomorrow.
9/23: 199.7 Okaaay I guess it was real after all. YESSS! My workout prevented me from overeating at dinner last night so I'm feeling really good. I actually had an amazing food weekend!
9/24: 198.9 Ow owww! I'm just killin' it this round. I guess this is what happens when I add exercise and stick to my deficit on the weekend as well ;D
9/25: 198.9 I ate pizza for dinner last night and only got like 3000 steps in. I ate at a deficit buuuut there was quite a bit of sodium.
9/26: 198.9 Does anybody else flip the scale off when it doesn't tell you want you want to hear?! Went to the gym yesterday and had another good food day yeayaa!

9/20 - 184.2 - IF/18.5hrs/Meal times~2:30, 8pm. 17g carbs.
I love you ?electrolytes. I felt 80% of my normal yesterday. Got a few things accomplished. I did not reach 128 ozs of water yesterday, because I was running more errands. Today, I will.
9/21 - 185.2 - IF/21hrs/Meal times~5pm, 7pm. 18g carbs. Did not drink enough water yesterday, but I managed to get in all of my electrolytes. Took a "littles" walk with my Great Niece ? She likes to walk and I could walk her speed without too much difficulty. My hip joints and muscles are still somewhat stiff and painful, but I've got to move! Using a heating pad at night has been beneficial. Ketones detected today. Edging my way back into ketosis.
9/22 - 185.6? (183.6?) - Every once in a while my scale fuctuates wildly. I'll go with the high number. I didn't sleep that well last night and sipped water throughout. IF/19.5hrs. Meal times~ 2:30, 8pm. 19g carbs. Going to visit 2 of the Grands today at Carb Central. Lol. Thats what I'm going to start calling their home.
9/23 - 185.2 - IF/18hrs. Meal times~ 2pm, 7:30. 33g carbs, 21g net carbs. Only vegetable carbs, cabbage and squash.
9/24 - 185.6 - IF/19.5hrs. Meal times~ 3pm, 6:30. 27g carbs, 19g net carbs. I think I may weigh a little less than this, but I can never wait out my body processes 😯 before water and coffee in the morning.
9/25 - 184.6 - IF/20hrs. Meal times~ 2:30, 6:30. 32g carbs, 25g net carbs. Time to clean up the flower bed, outdoor flower pots😢 and plant some spring bulbs. The sun was so intense midsummer that even the sun loving flowers growth was stunted. Now they are flourishing. Between the heat and the deer eating my plants and flowers, it's a wonder there's anything left out there.
9/26 - Now for a bit of entertainment. 181.8😲~ 182.8😳~ 179.8😌~ 181.9😔~ 184😏✔ Scale games this morning. IF/21hrs. Meal times~ 3:30, 7:30. 20g carbs. Planting some daffodil bulbs in a pot today. I've always planted bulbs in the ground, so I don't know how that will work for me. I dug them up two months ago from my front "weed beds" lol. Thats all that grows there, because the "soil" is dirt. Strength training today. My shoulders are in poor condition.

Day/Weight/Comment
09/20: 307.1 lbs (+4.0) … ugh. I’m used to the idea that fluctuations are normal and to be expected, but it’s still a kick to the gut each time it happens. Especially when it’s a bigger one like this.
09/21: 307.8 lbs (+0.7) … apparently yesterday wasn’t high enough of a water weight gain.
09/22: 304.8 lbs (-3.0) … some uptick recovery, but still up a decent chunk over my start weight for this round. Hopefully I’ll continue seeing a downward trend tomorrow. Completed Couch to 5k Week 6 Day 1 this morning.
09/23: 304.7 lbs (-0.1) … at least it wasn’t an increase!
09/24: 303.0 lbs (-1.7) … whew, what a relief. A new low, if only by .1 lb, is very welcome after a ~5 lb uptick in weight! Glad to be on the correct side of zero for this challenge now. Completed Couch to 5k Week 6 Day 2 this morning… the last workout with walking intervals in the program. I was feeling good, so I passed on the walking in the middle and turned it into a 23 minute jog instead.
09/25: 302.5 lbs (-0.5) … another new low! Feeling good.
09/26: 301.4 lbs (-1.1) … another new low! Sub-300 is getting closer. Completed Couch to 5k Week 6 Day 3 this morning. Workout called for a 22 minute jog, but I was able to push it to 32 minutes. Very happy with that, considering the very last workout in the program, in three weeks, aims to have you run 30 minutes. I’ve already met that goal so I can work on pace a bit now.

Wow, if your scale is bouncing around that much in a single sitting, it might be time to replace it with something more accurate

NEVER GIVE UP! You can surprise yourself! I have.
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

09/25 123.0 Today I awoke with a rumbling tummy. Pretty sure my weight is up as a reaction to Asian buffet on Monday. Sadly, it wasn’t very satisfying as we were too late to get my desired veggies tempura.😢😢
**I failed to post here yesterday because I needed to get a couple of things done. I think after the stress of the last week and a half over the car situation my body just gave up. I ate all Keto but was way over on calories and protein and fat macros but 1 under on carbs. Celebrate the small things!
09/26 121.5 Very unsettled gut yesterday. Many trips to TMI, movie in the afternoon, no snacks, 1/2 Greek salad with gyro meat for supper. Gut feels better today.8 -

09/20- 206: Woohoo! So thankful to be going down! I had a dentist apt yesterday for a filling and my teeth are still sensitive to everything, so we will see how that goes. I will be going to Greek Fest tonight and hopefully the LA Fair tomorrow with my boyfriend. I'm getting pretty good at being good, just hope I don't mess up.
09/21- 206
09/22- DNW
09/23- 208.2: Yeah I messed up. My weight stayed the same for Saturday which was great and then that day I went to my boyfriends. Didn't really eat much or anything bad and even had a healthy meal at his house. We went to the fair that night and I had a beer, some wine, and a couple small fried things. The following day at his house I had a healthy breakfast and we did a lot of walking. I might have messed up during dinner at my house last night. I'm so mad because I eat healthy all week and really push myself, but as soon as it's the weekend it turns into cheat days and "it's ok you've been working so hard." No! I want to stop doing that. I'm sick of working hard all week and then gaining it all back over the weekend. I'm more than my starting weight for this round and I really feel so defeated when this happens. Think I just have to cut back on going out or feeling pressured into having foods I shouldn't
09/24- 206.2: Woohoo, going back down! So happy I pushed myself yesterday. Ate healthy all day, made some baked salmon with veggies for dinner and went to the gym last night. Didn't have as much water as I wanted to, but still had a decent amount. I also gave my bf crap and told him no more cheat days and how I can't keep falling off the wagon every time, so he's on board. And we've also been pushing each other to go to the gym, so I'm really thankful for that. Hope to keep this going
09/25- 206.2: No loss, but no gain so I got that going for me. Thinking it might have to do with me having shake and bake chicken legs (drumsticks) last night with mashed cauliflower from Trader Joe's and some crab salad. I didn't have time to cook last night, so I jumped at the opportunity of my mom cooking. I love shake and bake, but I should have taken the time to make something myself and a little healthier. I did get in the gym again last night and pushed myself. Also did some strength along with cardio, so let's hope my arms don't hate me today. Need to up my water intake still and keep pushing.
09/26- 206: I feel like I'm starting to get stuck and was hoping to see a little more progress. Healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner. For dinner I made shrimp scampi with steamed veggies. I think I messed up a little when I got home I was so hungry I started munching on some rice I saw on the stove my mom made. A couple harmless bites turned into a few bites I also decided not to go to the gym last night because I wanted a rest day and was hoping to use that time to play video games with my boyfriend since he was home and had a day off. H ended up knocking out and it got too late for me to go, but I'll be going again today. Also starting off strong with drinking water and then the rest of the day it's like I forget. I doubt I'll reach my Challenge Goal Weight, but hoping to at least leave 206.

My goal is to end lower than I started, and to be at or under maintenance calories for my oldest son’s birthday. Thankfully it’s the last of the birthdays for the year.
09/20 294.4 Ah the after weight training, high activity, high sodium, high stress bounce. I was on track with my calories despite my husband bringing home dinner, but I weighed out what was within my calorie goals.
09/21 295.0 Two words, Japanese food. So much tasty sodium filled foods. I was under calories, but oh the sodium. I don’t expect to see a drop until Tuesday because today I’m doing maintenance calories today for my son’s birthday.
09/22 296.8 My son had a nice birthday, but I overate. Thankfully I have nothing else until my anniversary next month. I should see most if not all of the weekend gain gone in a few days as most if not all of it is from sodium.
09/23 294.4 Hopefully I’ll be back down to the round start tomorrow. I’m so sore this morning because I bought a kettlebell weight yesterday and did a workout. My husband has agreed that we need to stop eating out on the weekends. It’s something that has been a little bit of an issue since the new job.
09/24 293.4 And back down plus a little bit. I’m still a little sore and stuff but it’s much better today. This weight also puts me a hint lower than my goal weight for a challenge I’m in and I have ten more days left of that challenge so I’m really happy seeing this number today.
09/25 292.6 I’m on track and really happy with how my change in food/calorie plan is working out. Now if I can just stay on track for the weekends again I’ll be doing fantastic.
09/26 292.0 That’s now a total of 90 pounds lost since January first. I don’t think I’ll have trouble hitting my goal for the year.
