wow what a month... not sure what happened to me... and I have never been depressed but this last month... WOW.. eating very badly, no gym, no walking, no running, NOTHING!!! Then... I woke up yesterday and had an amazing day. I feel SOOOO much better ~ now to get back at it. I've got some time to make up.

9/27~ 142.0 great start to the challenge. I am losing so slow these days, so I am hoping by the end of next month to be in the 130's firmly. Even if it is only 139.9, lol.
October 4 ~142.0 same. I am with in 4 pounds of my maintenance goals, but it is proving to be a very difficult 4 to 6 pounds to get rid of. Maybe I will get somewhere next week.
10/11 ~ 141.4 Finally made some progress. Not much by any means, but it's progress and I will take it.
10/18 ~ 141.5 was lower all week. I didn't even have a beer last night and I still am up a bit.
10/25 ~ 143.9 I have been high all week. Don't think I am getting anywhere this month

Weight lost this week: Scale says I lost about half a pound, but my ten-day average is up almost a whole pound. π π€― My mass has been slowly climbing since the beginning of October. π± I'm still well below where I got in August, so all is not lost. In fact, it's really not that bad at all, it just looks like it to me sometimes. π In reality, I'm still near the middle of my goal range, and my weighted moving average weight is just a couple pounds over my goal. But in my head I look at that graph and just see a line going up instead of holding steady or dropping back to my actual goal. In reality, I am actually below the initial goal I set a couple years ago when I started my current journey, so I just need to see this as success rather than failure. Isn't it funny how our brains tease us like this. Because I know I'm doing fine, but somehow it just doesn't feel like it. I know I'm not alone in this. Thanks for letting me rant about it. π

Actual Weight loss for the challenge: I'm still in my goal range by scale and average, just not by as much as I prefer. I had expanded my goal range, but I'm still using the old tighter one. For now I just need to stop the gain.

Used my time of work wisely - figured out the menus for both Thanksgiving and a family get together this Sunday that shouldn't set me back. Reading the book Quench which goes into the science of hydration and gives some great strategies for maximizing hydration from food. Highly recommend it!

10/17 - 181.2 - 183.2 on the 11th and 180.8 on the13th. Then up and down again. It's like driving on a rocky road.
10/24 - 184 - Fluid retention. All joints feeling tight this morning.
10/31 - 181.8 - 2.2 lbs lost
so far. Smh. Takes me a long time to get rid of fat.
11/14 - 183 - I've been higher and lower than this weight in the past week. I'm trying to settle into 16/8 or 18/6 IF (instead of 20 to 23 hrs of daily fasting) for a while.

10/10 191.8 I made a ton of progress this week that was completely wiped out by 2 trips in the same week including lots of car sitting/driving & restaurant food. I hope a lot of this is fluid retention. I picked up some parsley, I shall be drinking a parsley tea today!
10/17 189.0 Working it back down. Not always easy when my own body fights me with several health conditions & many medications. As time goes on, I am becoming more & more aware of my limitations and the reasons for my fluctuations. That is a gift.
10/24 188.4 I am working so hard for progress. Its such a slow process these days. Ahβ¦to be young again!
10/30 188.0 Travel today.
November 7 186.0 More progress than I realized for this past week. Iβve been stuck the last few days so I am going to rethink things. If it keeps up, an egg fast may be in order. Or a beef & butter fast. Last resort though as I donβt find either very pleasurable!

I never even got up to where I let myself get in August. I've been managing to wrestle back to my goal the last seven days. I'm back near the bottom third of my goal range, and my weighted moving average weight is just a couple pounds over my goal. π I hope to report that my trending weight is back at goal next week. Notes: This is looking good. I thought I had seen another weird whoosh, seeing 144.7 this week, but even with today's bounce I'm starting to be more confident with the scale moving down. Nice to see a downward line with both are the trend weight and projected loss. I've switched to morning workouts for more consistency and am applying some of the hydration strategies I learned in the book Quench.

Weight lost this week: Scale says I am gaining again -- 1.6 pounds in just a week! However; my ten-day average is down a pound. π π€― I am finding humor in my trend. My mass was slowly climbing from October 1 through about November 11. π± I put a stop to it and started losing again, and while my weight was on the way down, I could SEE the trend on the way down, but the trend algorithm said I was still gaining. Well, it finally caught up, and then the last four days I've kind of been gaining again, but the trend is still trying to convince me I'm losing. I will let the trend win! I will get back to goal! Those last few pounds, though; they're tenacious. They keep wanting to come back, and I keep trying to evict them. π My trending weight is within a pound of goal, so I hope to report that it is BACK at that goal next week. October 3 - 182.410/10 - 181.4November 7 - 183 - Scale weight has been up and down this past week. It may get a little more erratic in the days ahead, because I reset my calorie intake (increase) and macros (higher carb grams) two days ago.
10/17 - 181.2 - 183.2 on the 11th and 180.8 on the13th. Then up and down again. It's like driving on a rocky road.
10/24 - 184 - Fluid retention. All joints feeling tight this morning.
10/31 - 181.8 - 2.2 lbs lost
so far. Smh. Takes me a long time to get rid of fat.

October 3 191.6 Woo Hoo! What a turbulent week of travel, ups & downs! Fighting very hard for success. 180βs I am talking to YOUβ¦..Bring it ON!
10/10 191.8 I made a ton of progress this week that was completely wiped out by 2 trips in the same week including lots of car sitting/driving & restaurant food. I hope a lot of this is fluid retention. I picked up some parsley, I shall be drinking a parsley tea today!
10/17 189.0 Working it back down. Not always easy when my own body fights me with several health conditions & many medications. As time goes on, I am becoming more & more aware of my limitations and the reasons for my fluctuations. That is a gift.

11/28 185.6 Travel this week set me back, but this is still an improvement over last week. I am determined that Thanksgiving will not be the start of my usual fall/winter spiral downward in defeat. I worry more about all the big city travel for shopping than I do about the actual holiday meals. The meals are one day (just donβt keep the leftovers! Give, Give, Give). The shopping season is 5-6 weeks of sitting in cars driving and eating in restaurants. The diabetes only complicates things. Iβm going to have to plan wisely.

Notes: And here we go for December! Christmas is not a major challenge for me. I'm not a baker, and our family celebration is fairly subdued. Ham is the expected meal, and I'll need to get creative to avoid the sodium bump.
December 30th will mark the one year point for this leg of my weight loss journey. I never dreamed it would take nearly a year to drop 13 pounds, and I still have 10 to go π³ I've learned a lot about this post-menopausal body, and I'm still befuddled. But I'm determined.
