Free weights, four different lifts - 10 lbs x 2 sets x 15 reps
Super plies - four different positions - 10 lbs x 2 sets x 15 reps
Hip abduction - 145 lbs x 2 sets x 15 reps
Hip adduction - 145 lbs x 2 sets x 15 reps
Knee Push (glute blaster) - 30 lbs x 2 sets x 15 reps, each leg
Knee Lift - 30 lbs x 2 x 15 reps (both legs), 25 lbs x 2 sets x 15 reps (each leg individually)
Knee Pulldown - ditto
Arc Trainer - 7 minutes, highest/longest stride setting (20), level 10

Good morning glories! Happy Thursday! We lost power yesterday around 6pm due to a storm (it has been raining for a few days). So I went to bed at 7 (?!) and actually went right to sleep; got up at 10pm when the power popped back on. Got up and turned all of the lights off in the house and reset the clocks, then went right back to sleep. Woke up at 4am, did half of my strength training (20 minutes), put my head lamp on and went out for a five mile walk, then finished my strength training (30 minutes). Shower and ready for the day by 6:30. I am quite proud that I actually accomplished all of that this morning. Most mornings I just do the strength training; but I joined a walking challenge that Machka shared on Oct.1, and it is hard to find the energy to even walk in the evenings. Better for me to get it done in the morning if possible.
Well, it is October 3 and my newest grandson is late. This is a LaMore trait. The LaMore men (my hubby's brothers) are NEVER on time for anything. Baby's due date was yesterday. I personally think he is waiting for me to get down there so I can hang with his big brother, Joaquin, during delivery. We will see... However, I am on pins and needles and jump every time the phone rings and it is my daughter. She called me four (4) FOUR times yesterday!! All for silly little things or just to chat as she ran errands at work. She knows I am waiting for THE call.
Lisa- lol I loved Corey's response to you being in your 70s and not being able to out run him...Can you out run him, now? Seeing your gym exercise list reminds me how much I miss the machines at the gym. *sigh
Michele-If Denise and Pete have a blender or food processor, it is easy-peasy to make baby food. It is cost efficient and also better for the baby, as well. I make baby food for my daycare babies. Because I am cooking meals for the kids and my family every day/week, anyway, it is easy just to put some of the veggies I have prepped into the blender and puree them. Then I portion them into ice cube trays, freeze them, and pop them out and bag and label them, so I can grab exactly the portion I will need for the day. You know me, I am a big proponent for making your own food. That way you know exactly what is going into it and can control all of it. Buying organic produce/products is up to them. It is pricier (I can't afford it unless it is on sale). If they decide to go "organic", suggest that they buy from a farm they are familiar with or one that comes highly recommended as "organic". The label "organic" can vary from farm to farm.

Heather- Va-va-voom! You look fantastic! Could you dance in that dress? Please tell my your husband was speechless at how stunning you look in it! I agree with the others, if you are what 70 looks like; I can't wait until I am 70!
NYKaren- How is the trip going? Are you still traveling?
Gingerbeer- What a beautiful place to walk! Now I understand the very hilly (mountainous) hikes you take! There is a "hike" calorie burn count in the exercise tab on mfp. I do agree with the others that mfp calorie burn is higher than actual.
Debby VA- I don't think you are suicidal; but I recognize the burn-out and overuse you are feeling. When my kids were home and in school; that burn-out feeling was constant with me. I am one to just bite my tongue, put my head down and keep slogging away. Luckily, even with the kids now grown and out of the house AND with hubby's job loss and being underfoot all of the time, I am not constantly feeling burnt out (only sometimes). I DO find myself saying to my husband, "I will have to be dead to get any rest around here!" lol or I try to cut a deal with God that he PLEASE let me watch my family fumble around and accomplish all of the things I do, after I have died. I seriously would love to be that fly on the wall, and watch the chaos. (Smugly, as they begin to realize how important I was to them) I totally get you! I have had to flip those feelings and turn them into "I will do this, and in doing this it will keep me stronger and more mobil as I get older..." BUT...I also have learned to take time for myself. (time for myself is usually in the wee hours of the morning) You have got this. (((hugs)))

Strange walk tho ... I had two drivers pull up and ask me parking-related questions.
I'm walking! I rarely drive. What do I know about parking spots??
One pulled up to me and asked me where she should park her car. In a parking spot ... I suppose ... ??
The other rolled quietly next to me and then the guy said, in a very low voice, "Are you leaving?" I must have given him a really weird look because his next comment was, "Don't look at me like I'm some kind of freak, I'm obviously looking for a parking spot!" Well, it wasn't obvious to me at all!!
And then a walk to the beach after work, with my husband ...

Gingerbeericecold- I read your post and I’m not sure what name you go by. I live on old railroad tracks that they turned into tar bike and walking paths. It’s nice to be able to walk for miles in nature away from traffic! Great picture of the railroad bridge. As kids we also played on the tracks and climbed a very similar bridge. Thinking back we could have gotten killed...

Sasha had bad digestive problems so she got me up at 11:30 for the midnight walk and again at 3:10 for the 4:45 walk so I am way ahead of schedule. That means I'll have lots of time for the after breakfast walk and still get home early enough to get to line dance by 9:00. My walking friend can walk today so I can get out early.
Thank you to all of you who are inspiring me to get back to strength training. Last night I did a few reps of some familiar lifts. After lifting heavier weights before, I was cautious and stuck with 5 pounds and they felt heavy. I know I am still very cautious about my back even though it has been a year since my back injury.
Something about me: I grew up with an ordinary family that moved around every two years thanks to the Coast Guard. Moving so often, I made few attachments to people and greater attachments to books and dancing. My first marriage was to a man who turned out to be a bum. My description of the marriage is that he broke my heart, robbed me blind, and left. When last heard of, he was a lonely old man living in a trailer on his daughter's property. I met Jake when I wasn't looking and he has turned out to be the love of my life. Jake has children and I don't. I've helped raise them but don't feel a huge closeness to them or to their children. I have battled with my weight all my life going back to "The Special K Diet" that my mother imposed on my sister and me when we were teenagers. In 2009 my husband was introduced to Isagenix by his chiropractor. He needed to plan a 400-600 calorie meal each day and when I sought help on the internet for calorie count in foods, I found MFP. I'd never posted online about anything and I'd always rebelled at the idea of keeping track of my food as a weight loss tool. I tried doing both and my life changed. My rules at the beginning were to be open minded to new ideas take baby steps, and seek every opportunity to be active. Thanks to that, I created new habits, read amazing books that helped me change my life, made new friends, and found the strength to walk gracefully through many bumps in the road (surgery and illness for both me and Jake,a move to a new house. and the deaths of two beloved pets). My life is simple and I love it this way. I walk my dogs every morning for at least two hours and shorter times in the afternoon and evening. I go to line dance classes two mornings a week, I ride my recumbent exercise bike for several hours a day while watching TV, I do some simple gardening, and yard work. I am home with my husband most of the day because his health keeps him more sedentary and I want to spend as much time with him as I can. I gave up cooking and baking as recreation and avoid recreational eating. I've put in a lot of energy lately to clearing clutter in my house and living intentionally. "Hubby, dogs, dancing--who could ask for anything more"

The gym's done once more (it's STILL a triumph every time I go on resistance days... wonder if that's ever going to change?) and added a calf extension to replace the leg press that was tweaking my new knee. Trying to get the narrative done on a federal grant by end of day tomorrow, so I'm off to the showers, and back in pure writing mode. Hopefully I can find the flow I need over these couple days. Honestly the hardest thing I've written in many, many years.

I am usually the Queen of References when I write papers. I'm the one with 5 pages of references for a 10-page paper.
I don't usually lose marks for that, but often get comments indicating there might be a bit too many references.
For my 2nd assignment in this course, I decided to ease back a bit and try handing in a paper with a more "normal" (based on what I've seen others hand in) number of references. I did lose a few marks and got comments that I didn't have enough!!
Righto ... my first order of business on this final assignment is to gather up a stack of references and do my reference pages. I'm up to 6 pages of references. They want references ... I'll give them references!!
This is the way I usually write a paper ... do all the references first, then put some words and illustrations in the paper part. I shouldn't have deviated from my usual.
But, because my topic is "get moving at work", I'm finding all sorts of journal articles on health and fitness.

Felicia - I live with the same kind of man....doesn't really have much empathy for me or anyone else. So, I feel I am not allowed to have any sort of "episode," get upset about anything or have any type of strong reaction to anything. If I do, he "punishes" me for days by essentially ignoring me...which is better sometimes. He actually used to be somewhat empathetic with me, but not anymore. I guess it has a time limit.

My husband is the same way. I know exactly what you're experiencing!
He was diagnosed with Aspergers later in life and that cleared up a lot about who he is and why he behaves/reacts the way he does. Currently dealing with the fact that I don't feel he's emotionally connected to me. He agrees.Now what!? Having turned 60 in January I'm questioning if I want to spend my remaining years with an emotionally distant partner!? We love each other dearly so this is painful. But a heart can only take so much! Sigh....

Just about to set sail for Sweden. We have a boat trip tomorrow around the islands of Gothenburg. Hope the weather holds up as it was glorious today.
The old town of Aalborg, in Denmark, has a centre with a lot of picturesque buildings, including a fabulous merchant's house and small cathedral. We did a LOT of walking and then strolled along the waterfront to see all the modern design buildings, including an opera house . Some of the new apartments had the biggest balconies I have ever seen!!! I had balcony envy.

Having a quiet moment of recovery at the moment. Luckily our cabin is very quiet and comfortable. Soon I will be wandering down to afternoon tea. I am feeling a bit fat, so need to be careful not to over indulge. Need to recommit when we get home.
We have a TV celebrity on board at the moment. Kate Humble. A wildlife presenter. She is answering questions tonight.
Hope to do a bit of dancing earlier, after a lecture on Oslo. DH continues to perform valiantly in front of a big audience. Today we ran into some people in the cathedral. They said "Oh, it's the dancers! We watch you every night." Then to me, "Your husband is getting better as he goes along. Definitely improving. "
Poor man, what I put him through!!!!

Just wanted to send hugs to those with unresponsive husbands. Everyone has to make their own decisions as to what they need in life, but for me an intimate relationship is paramount. I left my first husband because we just were not connecting in the way I needed. It was very, very hard and we parted as friends, but I now have the relationship I desired. I know I would rather be alone than live with an emotional stranger, but we are all different and have different priorities.
Never, ever, put yourself last in life.

Hi Machka.
I used the same methodology. But found all of my professors wanted a personal touch such as how the references support a/my point of view. I am a numbers person and being wordy for the sake of being wordy within a term paper was always tough for me.
