Cal.1284, Carbs 79g, Protein 102, Fat 74g, Sugar 13g, Fiber 42g, Water 90oz.
• Digital Detox Day 4 - Screen time 9hours with 8pickups. . My task today is to refrain from using any of my devices during the first hour after waking in the morning. Easier than I anticipated.
• Bright Spot today. My cute glass decanter. Tiara amber glass Jolly Mountainer. He makes me smile. I use him to hold coins. He sits on my kitchen counter near my coffee pot. I empty excess coins from my wallet into this decanter. When it gets full - I take them to the bank.

I'm at a point shopping where I think I will just go commando. Underwear can't be tried on, ( Good or I would be shopping with latex gloves on!), and the packaging is such that when you open it at home, its technically yours. I don't want to spend $15 for a pack only to find out they aren't comfortable. The cotton ones only come in packs of 6+, and the fact that some brands I'm one size, we in other brands I'm something else, its ludicrous!
Ok rant over.💖
Oooh Navy Midshipman vs Air Force. Baby won 34 to Air Force 25. Great football game! Chief and I yelled a lot!
💖Rebecca4 -
Rebecca, take the opened pack of underwear that doesn't fit along with your receipt and return them. When you find a size/brand that fits, save the package so you can buy them again2
-
Rebecca if you know waist and hip measurements often the packages will have a guide as to which size you need to buy. You do have to decide do you like briefs, high cut, hipsters, or bikini. What you wear can determine which is the best choice. I admit there are difference between brands too. I would go by what they say on their package for the fit. Once you find size, style, and brand it is best to stick with it. You can also watch for sales in the brand you like. Buying them in a package is usually the cheaper than individual. Occasionally Kohl's will clear out single pairs. I have bought some of these to see if I like the style, size, and brand without committing to a big package.
Barbie had great advice too!2 -
M – forgive me – where is the snipping tool? Makes sense about logging into the future. Never thought of that! Lucky you gets DST.
Michele in NC
Right click on the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of your screen.
Select Search
Type 'Snipping Tool'
Pin it to your Start and maybe also Taskbar
It is a great little tool for capturing screen shots and all sorts of things. It seems to me it was around before Windows 10 as an Add-On but came as part of Windows 10.
When you open it and capture your screen shot, then go to Edit > Copy and come over here and Paste ... and voila! There it is.

Hello all! I MAJORLY overdid it today! lol The boys slept in, which got my hackles up and made me go out and move all five couches into the ENORMOUS dumpster that we rented! LOL I was in my William Wallace mode. (Paint my face blue and I will shout FREEDOM from the top of the junk I put in the dumpster!) I had gotten all five couches in the dumpster on my own by the time Tim woke up and came outside and said "WTH are you doing?" I was in a mood and I didn't want to do housework, so I got done what needed to be done. I took my farm wagon to the back yard and put my old picnic table upside down across it and pulled it up the hill and across the front yard (with Tim making sure it stayed balanced). Then moved a bunch of other things out of the shed (three doors, a 6 foot cedar fence panel, a 48"x 24" planter box, a wheelbarrel, etc.) and put them all in the bin. It felt so good. I let a few too many curse words fly as I muscled and shoved things where I wanted them to be. It felt REALLY good! Just as good as smacking someone; well, I can only imagine it felt that good as I am not a violent person. BUT it all got done! I ate (and drank) back a lot of the calories. But a good, productive day.
JanetR- Glamour girl! Congrats on your anniversary! You look fabulous! Glad your sinus infection is clearing up!
Carol- I would see if I could find out the reason hubby has taken up smoking again. Is he stressed about something? Maybe he can switch that bad habit for a good one? A walk together? A punching bag to hit for a while?
Rebecca- I missed the underwear kerfuffle! Having a hard time finding comfortable undies? What about them is uncomfortable? Have you tried the "boy short" style? It gives a bit more coverage, and usually a nice cotton without the irritating elastic around the waist and leg openings. But agree with Barbie; either save the packaging of the comfy ones or take a pic of them and save it on your phone for the next time you have to purchase them! I have pics of a LOT of stuff like that on my phone.
Katla- I will be in the air on Wednesday morning! I will wave to the NW as I fly to Texas!
Well, still working on my laundry...ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Miakoda40! this is your glass blowing day? How long have you been doing that, and how did you get started? That sounds so exciting - do you have any pictures?
Felicia, I’m sad to think of you in the middle of a panic attack and failing to have someone reliable nearby to steady you. I havent had one in a long time - knock wood - but I remember that feeling of internally falling forever. Hang on to that knot in your rope!
Evelyn, your day of not holding it together on page 8 (where I am) was me today on the 5th. I went through a drive through to get my Coke Zero reward (which I usually have at home) and noticed onion rings were only $2 and 2 tacos for $1.19. URGENT Memo to self: just because it’s on sale doesn’t mean I need it.
That’s actually a recurring theme these days. I’m having a real battle about that, and think it’s back to counseling to find out what’s going on. I’m depriving myself of greater benefits later by grabbing on to stuff today.
Shotzz99, an empathetic response from your partner shouldn’t come with an expiration date. All of us deserve love and support. Not all of us can count on it. I’m luckier than most. My dear daughters have my back no matter what, and so do their spouses! My DH died in 2013, but he was a feminist long before the 60s. I’m one very lucky lady, but I remember when I wasn’t, and the lessons I learned to get here. I AM worthy! I DO deserve respect. I am beautiful beyond measure within myself, WHATEVER my outside looks like. I KNOW what I need if I search in myself. And I CAN find a fulfilling life for myself no matter how poor my circumstances.
Sharon Near Page 95 -
GingerBeer, my late DH rode the rails a lot as aa kid (14 or so) this was during WWII, and folks like his family didn’t have cars. He was told to go fend for himself at 14 - not as uncommon as you might think among the logging and cowboy towns of the west. And he did until his mom signed for him to enlist at 17 in late 1945 after the Armistice was signed but before the Peace was signed, so he had wartime service on his record and was eligible for 1-1/2 years of GI Bill. He was the first ever in his family to go to college. He got hooked on education and scrambled to get a Bachelor of Humanities.
My dad also lived railroads and we went down to watch the roundhouse in action with my dad, and welcome my grandparents at our Union Station un Columbus OH. to great billowing clouds of steam and smoke.

Carol in GA, sorry to hear that your husband is smoking again. Smoking is hard to give up, maybe even harder to control than food or alcohol.2
-
I think quitting smoking was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It sounds crazy but smoking was a reward for me. I’d finish a big job or get all the kids to sleep and I’d reward myself with a sit down and a cigarette. I don’t know how many times I quit, just to fall off the program and smoke again. Finally I was successful ...... but what a hard habit it was to break. It’s been twenty years but I remember the wanting like it was yesterday. I’ll never smoke again. I’m past the desire but the addiction was strong.

📙October Goals Progress Update

✔️1. Lose weight.
✔️2. Track every bite in MFP and complete the entry daily.
✔️3. Participate daily in a 30-Day Digital Detox Program.
• Overall Feeling. Sluggish. Dragged my behind all day today.
• Lose weight. Yes. 0.4 lbs.
• MFP - completed entry. Yes. Cal.1575, Carbs 66g. Fiber 30g. Water 90oz.
• Digital Detox Day 5 - Screen time 12 hours with 14 pickups. . My task today is to not use my tech devices during the last hour before bed. This one will be tough. I fall asleep every night listening to something on my Kindle Fire. I usually start off watching something until I get relaxed, then I turn it over so the light is blocked and I listen to it. This has been my habit for the past 14 years. Since Hurricane Ike. I’ll give it a try. Long soaking Epsom Salt bath - with no tech device by the tub - then straight to bed.
• Bright Spot today. Watching the little mini goats play in the yard. They head butt each other and jump and kick in the air. So cute.
• Today I’m grateful for:
1. Onions. Have you ever had a nice onion? I love raw onion in my salads. It adds a nice something to my salads. Sharp and slightly pungent taste. Crisp and crunchy texture.
2. My new little password book. I wish I’d bought one sooner. Nice to have them organized. Note: I tend to use phrases as passwords and use hints in my book.
3. Having our papers under control and organized. Peace of mind since 2016.
4. Books to read. I hope to get back to reading real books before bed.
5. Coffee. Always coffee.

College visits - We have unofficially visited Ohio State. She went with a group from school to visit University of Cincinnati. We visited Western KY University Friday. Absolutely loved it! We visit University of Louisville Monday. Cincinnati is definitely out. We would need to move back to Columbus to consider Ohio State. I’m willing to do that, but I’m not thrilled that she would have to take a gap year to avoid out of state tuition. She’s not super comfortable about moving away from home. We shall see!
My mom seemed super tired tonight. I hope everything is OK.
Glad I’ve gotten positive support from this group on so many subjects!

Thanks ladies! I will do my homework.👍💖

Its not all about the picking and choosing, it is more about wishing I was a smaller size, and all the stress that comes with that. That is the bare bones facts of the issue. Once I face facts I can more forward. Today I was just in a situation I didn't want to be in. Have I said again how much I hate stores in general. Oh um, maybe I have...💖

Hi Betsy. 20 years is cool. I quit 6 years ago. My 6th smoberversary is Oct 27th. After a 34 year habit of a pack a day. I found it much easier to quit than I anticipated. I found the LIVESTRONG Quit community and those folks were great support. I still check-in with them occasionally. I learned a lot from them. I found a book by Charles Duhigg “The Power of Habit” and it was a turning point for me. I learned about the Habit Cycle and suddenly everything about smoking and addiction in general - made sense to me.
Smoking was a reward. Nicotine hijacks dopamine and gives the smoker a little pleasurable sensation. A little high. It also relieves the withdrawal from nicotine since the last cigarette. The smoker starts jonesing for the next hit of nicotine. And when a smoker associates smoking with any activity - the habit cycle is created. Whenever I finish a task (trigger) I smoke a cigarette (behavior) and feel a sense of Ahhh! Relief from nicotine withdrawal (reward). I made a list of all my triggers and created new behaviors and rewards for each. I had tough moments - but I had a counteraction and it worked.
I found this so interesting. The same could be said about sugar. And many other things.

OK, I don't know if this is going to work, but I'm going to try.
I've created a short survey about Fitness Apps for the course I'm in. If you feel so inclined, I think you can go in and complete the survey. No pressure!!
