@chefsamuel If you are saying you should have lost 1/2# from one day to the next because you were over 1700 calories deficient, fat loss doesn’t seem to work that way, at least for me. It takes 2-3 days for the change to be reflected on the scale. It took many decades for me to realize that. Hope that helps you and anyone else who expects instant gratification on the scale. 😁8

NEVER GIVE UP! You can surprise yourself! I have.
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

*******
10/20 121.0 Food at the all day sew was not the greatest, choice wise and I am still in ketosis - barely. It was a fun day however and worth it. Today more socializing at the neighbor’s.
10/21 121.5 I think this uptick is a result of the foods from Saturday. It’s okay, I’m still well below my goal weight.8 -

10/19 …..188.0….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
10/20 …..189.0 ….. Within calorie, a little high on carbs yesterday. 1505 Calories In / 2606 Calories Out. 47 Net Carbs. 15,158 Total Steps & 6.41 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I only slept 3 hours & 41 minutes and woke up very tired, however, Sunday is a busy work day so I needed to get started on the tourist cabin check-outs. Yesterday I walked 68 minutes in the neighborhood at approx 3.0 mph. I also took a short 10 minute slow walk at about 2.0 mph. Total extra calorie burn 402. Good luck everyone!
10/21 …..189.2 ….. I just realized I typed my end weight wrong for the last round when transferring info to this round. I’ve repaired it today on R93. Today’s weight is probably a normal fluctuation. Not enough water yesterday and a very big calorie burn & deficit. Hard hike. I think fluid pushed up the scale a bit. Calories too low for MFP to approve but my carbs were a bit high again. That means my choices weren’t ideal. I ate leftover food from a church function where I tried to make decent choices in what I brought home, but there’s no place like home when it comes to healthy planned eating! Yesterday’s stats: 984 Calories In / 3254 Calories out. 57 Net Carbs. 25,269 Total Steps & 10.69 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 1 minute. I hiked a long rustic trail for 103 minutes at 3.5 miles per hour. I walked in my neighborhood for 41 minutes at 3.0 mph. Extra calorie burn was 825. Just as @quiltingjaine was trying to point out, this is a perfect example of how a calorie deficit does not always mean an immediate loss on the scale. I will patiently wait for my scale reward.

Day/Weight/Comment
10/20: 222.8 (+1.0)/18.8 (+0.1). I went to my niece's birthday party last night, and FOR ME I was okay. I had some drinks, I ate a little more than I wanted to (late night grazing), but I was generally okay. If I can get through this weekend with a pound or less gain, it would be a success. I'll be going to the gym today, and we're going back for leftovers this afternoon. I will keep things under control when I'm there. And I'm going to push myself at the gym.
10/21: 221.8 (-1.0)/18.7 (-0.1). I worked my plan to perfection yesterday. I went to the gym in the morning with my wife, ate a very light lunch, then went to the in-laws to have leftovers from Saturday's party. I stayed in control for the most part, plus I avoided both alcohol and dessert while I was there. Dinner was also very light last night. This is the first time in recent memory that I ended a weekend at the same weight I started the weekend at.

OMGGGGGGGG ..... thankfully this is the result after several agonizing rounds w/ mr. potty. That's almost a pound! Apologies if TMI, but only weighed again because of it. Day/Weight/Comment
10/20 126.6 Weekend maintenance achieved, Day 1/2...
10/21 126.6 Weekend maintenance achieved, Day 2/2= a whole weekend (Fri-Sun)! And I baked both days, unbelievable! This is new for me. I love to bake, but it's always been the gateway to losing control, because I prefer my own baked goods to anything store-bought, and I tend to eat a *lot* of dough along the way. You know, you have to taste it to make sure it's going to turn out all right! So I'm proud. And not afraid that baking will undo all my progress. I was honestly afraid to bake for months. Ever since I started off at 158 in March. Anyone else have weight loss/maintenance fears?

10/20 – 194.2 - woohoo! Maintained my loss from the last day of the last round. Went to a birthday party last night and didn't eat any of the pizza or pie, just had a glass of wine. Feeling pretty pleased with myself. Today, however, did not go as well. Learned about some problems my partner had with our relationship and my weight gain after getting sick and then he left to go out of town for the week. I made a big deal of it in my head and felt like if I'm losing weight after the gain, and that still makes issues, then what's the point? Then I found some tumors on my dog's tongue and freaked out that she has cancer and will die. And then went and had a very not-keto and very not-healthy dinner... Regretting that decision now and hope to get back on the horse tomorrow. Hoping for better days coming down the line and hoping to get to the vet asap.
10/21 – 195.2 - up a pound, understandably so and surprised/relieved it's not more after last night. Recommitting myself to myself and remembering that this isn't about losing weight to be attractive to anyone, it's about losing to feel better about myself. Had an intense workout this morning which helped, but still feeling really sad about things yesterday. Was able to get a vet appointment for tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully it's not more bad news. Packed lots of healthy food for work today, so I'm feeling dedicated to sticking to my food goals again

10/20: DNW- Did too much today and just didn't really weigh in.
10/21:206- I let a little loose yesterday. Went to Disneyland and walked a lot. Didn't have as much water and ended up having sushi for dinner with my cousin. I hope I can get through this week with at least some progress.

GOALS
Congrats on the NSV! My biggest fear is staying stuck where I am. I've been between 205-225 all year! After losing 50+ I feel more like my old self, but know I need to lose a full 100 to be at my healthiest long-term. Trying to keep challenging myself is the hardest thing right now.4 -

I'm also very tired, all the running and juggling my normal schedule means that I'm loosing momentum and motivation
Rest is important as well! Glad you took a small break but, if you're feeling worn out and tired, ease up on yourself. It may end up being more beneficial than detrimental as long as you're mindful of your choices. Plus, you may find alternate ways to make small changes that motivate you all over again! I learned that the hard way (hospitalized due to exhaustion and body started shutting down on me. Don't want anyone else getting even CLOSE to that -- not that I think you will). Chin up, you're doing amazing
Thanks @CamandJarvis! I'm looking forward to a week holiday next week! I've also started seeing my physiotherapist again, which will help with the pain and relieve tension, she has magic hands5 -

Day/Weight/Comment
10/20--207.6 I have been having digesitive problems over the last couple of days, but I'm starting to feel a little better. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't feeling well and then I realized I had been snacking on some crackers that contained an ingredient that I am sensitive to. Ugh!
10/21--207.4 Strength coach yesterday. It's expected to rain most of today, but hubby and I are still planning on going out for a trail walk with the dog. Hopefully, there will be a break in the weather when I get home.
