It looks like yesterday was a good day @durhammfp1

speed demon and i went out for the scheduled 2 miles. i was whiny in my head but there was no reason not to. 2 miles are a little more than 20 min. it felt super fast but my time really wasn't. speed demon was scared to run again since the last run she was anxious about the noise the traffic made in the slushy streets.
she was ok. still nervous but settled down as we went down a quiet street first.
she wore herself out with the anxiety13 -

Yeah, a lot of things just came together yesterday. Maybe I should make next month's goals more aggressive? I'm still not sure how much I can do every month. Looks like you're doing really well too. You've come pretty far in the past year.2 -

I ran 6.35 miles this morning. It was a beautiful morning for a run. Not too cold nor too hot. It is supposed to get cold again tomorrow and so far there is an 80-90% chance of rain on Thursday morning so I just enjoyed the perfect weather today. I really will hate it if I have to miss my run on Thursday. I'm not worried about eating. It is nice to have a good run and feel like there is room for extra pie. But Thanksgiving is just one day, so if I go over calories it's no big deal. I'm planning on eating as much pie as I want. 😊 But running helps me to feel good and not be stressed. I love the holidays, and I love my family, but they can be stressful. I'm looking forward to my daughter coming in, but this will be the first time my son won't be home for Thanksgiving so I'm a little sad about that. It will probably be cold tomorrow in the morning, but I'm planning to get out there anyway and then I'll just play it by ear on Thursday. I guess I should have stuck with my usual goal of 100 miles since it looks like I will most likely hit 100 for this month. I just thought that there would be more days that I had to run shorter runs at lunch and one day I thought I might not get a run in I was able to do 8 so I'm ahead of goal this month, but really just at my normal mileage. Hopefully December will be good as well. Maybe I'm just getting a little better about getting out and running in the cold.

Stole this from local running group:
A few quick reminders for attending parties and other festive events during the holidays (2019 edition)
- It’s a dining table or buffet, not an aid station.
- Those shiny things are utensils; please keep your hand out of the pickle jar.
- Those wide, flat things are plates to place food on, there’s no need to cram everything in your mouth at once or stuff your pockets.
- Those clear things are glasses for beverages; leave the hydration pack at home.
- It’s a straw, not a drinking tube.
- The correct name is gravy, not warm Gu.
- Don’t crush a salt tab and sprinkle it on your food; use the salt shaker.
- Eating slowly and sitting in a chair are actually encouraged.
- Pacing is still important. Don’t go out too fast.
- They’re the host or hostess, not the crew.
- It’s called a bathroom or powder room, not a porta-john.
- Use of tissues is encouraged regardless of how skilled you are at snot rockets.
- It’s dimly lit on purpose. Leave your headlamp in the car.
- Even though there’s a large tree in the house, don’t piss on it.
- Don’t expect a t-shirt just for showing up
- Don’t ask other guests if they’re an Athena or Clydesdale.
- Cutoffs still apply. Leave before you get pulled.
- Under no circumstances should you ask your hosts for lube.16 -

5k this morning. A bit slow despite a fair amount of effort so feeling a bit meh about all, but I think I have a cold coming on, possibly even man flu.
Thinking about it later, getting up at 5am in the middle of winter in the rain. I should be pleased that I am out there. If I told anyone I knew IRL I did this they would flat out not believe me.

3. 100km........................87km
4. Long 10km.................11km

I was not 100% thrilled with the idea of running this morning, I know, shocker! But I headed out the door with the plan to run up along the lakefront for a pretty run. Welllll, I was not prepared for the homeowners pulling up their dock and actually placing them ON the walkway. I had to slow even more than I usually do to hike around some of them, then 1 homeowner had the dock on the walkway, plus the lawn sprinklers made the lawn a soupy, muddy, goopy mess! Only way I could of gotten by was swimming. So, turn around and think of a new route on the fly, end up, instead of 3 miles, did just over a 5K AND topping my goal for the month!
Feeling tight, especially in the right hammies, no time today, so I am adding Yoga to my calander after tomorrow's planned 1.5 mile run.9 -
Happy birthday @AlphaHowls3

I started running April 2016, over time, injuries here and there, testing my endurance of just how far can I go. I do not push myself...just want to be out there running, no time constraints. My desire, my goal is the distance, how much can I endure time/miles.

Well, last week was another good one for running - I ran three days for a total 11.72 miles, a nice but not too big jump from the prior week’s 9.31 miles. I’m hoping for 15.10 this week and then I’ll take a cutback week and then (hopefully, finally) get back to a 10% weekly increase schedule. Fingers crossed. One week at a time!
Two of my runs last week were to the gym, both by the 2.3 mile middle-distance route. According to my notes, Tuesday’s run “Felt pretty good!” while Friday’s was “A little tough.” We had a bit of a break in the weather last week, mostly mid-to-low 40s, and I managed my clothes reasonably well.
Sunday I ran for the first time ever with my best friend from law school, something we’ve talked about for ages but hadn’t gotten around to before. It was very strange at first, one of those “crossing the universes” kind of things like when you see a coworker at a restaurant or a teacher at the grocery store. My friend kept warning me how slow and out of shape she was (reminding me a lot of myself the last couple of times I ran with someone else), but we kept to a pace pretty close to what I’m running these days for a mile and a half or so before taking a walk break that somehow never actually turned back into running.
We had a good walk and chat the rest of the way around the lake, then she went home and I decided I still felt like running, so went another five miles or so around a different lake. I was a bit achy and had a very cold tuchas when I was done - 2 hours is overly long to be outside even in 45 degree weather - but felt pretty great. And she agreed to meet up again for another run next weekend, yay!
I didn’t quite hit my goals last week but am happy with what I managed: more running, walking, and yoga than the week before, and two strength sessions, same as the last week. This week I'm aiming to run to the gym tomorrow, then Turkey Trot 10K on Thursday morning, then I'm hoping to run to the gym both Saturday and Sunday (if my friend cancels, which given her two small children and exceedingly demanding legal career I'm half expecting), or drive one of those days then run with her in the afternoon on Sunday. My track record for actually going to the gym on weekends is pretty bad, but I'm hoping to turn that around this weekend. We will see!

It was a fantastic day here today, with 50+ degree temps and sunny. I went for a run with two friends this morning and it was really gorgeous around the lakes. Chatting with friends made the time go quickly.
I went for a fantastic massage after that, and then walked the dog so she could also enjoy the nice day. I did go to work for a little while (technically off this week), but it was a great day overall.
I picked up packets for myself and two friends for the Turkey Trot 5-miler. It's supposed to snow on Thursday so we're definitely in for a quick change. I also purchased some really tacky Christmas leggings and socks for the Ugly Sweater 5k on Saturday, so I think I'm all geared up to be an affront to good taste for that one. I'm actually kind of excited about the leggings, which feature cats and llamas (among other animals? I don't remember) wearing Santa hats. A friend of mine beats all this for her (different city) Turkey Trot - she bought a full-on person riding a turkey costume that is going to be a sight to behold.10 -

@Scott6255 Sorry for your injury and that you aren't going to get to run your marathon in December. Hoping it continues to improve. Good to you for listening to your body.
@Camaramandy648 You're a better woman that I. I would have stayed in bed or on the couch, close to the bathroom.

@mbaker566 Great job on your race. The hot chocolate sounds like a great cold post-race reward.2 -
Great race @katharmonic and Woot, Woot for conquering the rope climb! Here's a virtual High Five!!!
@shanaber Sounds like a VERY unorganized race, made worse by your injury! I do hope it is better. At least they had decent bling.1
