I am in maintenance with a goal weight of 143 pounds and an allowable goal range of 140-150 pounds. I've was gaining slowly from October 1 until mid-November, then was pretty flat again but maintaining a little above goal, then another slow increase, and I am hoping I'm getting that back under control.
September 2: 148.2 (ten-day average 146.0)
October 2: 141.4 (ten-day average 141.4)
November 2 142.2 (ten-day average 143.6)

November 3: 142.2 (ten-day average 143.6)

Yay! Today is less than a month ago, at least by scale weight. NOT by average because, well... I have been gaining. All that said, I think today's scale weight is an anomaly. I think I could have been dehydrated. In addition to my official daily weigh-in, I hop on the balance scale at work most days. By then I'm fully clothed and have had some coffee and water. I play a game where I set the weight before I get on based on what I'm wearing (I think shoes make the most difference for weight) and what the morning weigh-in said. I'm usually within a half pound, and often dead on. Today? I was off by almost THREE pounds, so I bet I will find that "lost" weight tomorrow when I get on my home scale.
As I said before -- I WILL get back to goal. Not sure when, but I will find success. You will too!
@threewins mentioned adding graphs once a month. I ain't done that yet, so here's a couple. The first one is actually a really good tool for this thread. It's from a site called Weightgrapher. The reason it's appropriate is that not only does it show a trend (I am not sure of the equation) and the individual weights, there's also a feature you can turn on that will show what your weight was 28 days ago. The primary purpose of that tool is for women because of monthly weight gain/loss. Here's a look back three months; you can look at other time scales, too. It's kind of interesting looking at the sine wave shapes that are opposite each other:
I also use Trendweight; I really like their graphics. Here's a look back at the last year:
September 5: 144.0 (ten-day average 145.4)
October 5: 139.6 (ten-day average 140.4)
November 5 146.0 (ten-day average 144.1)
December 5: 144.6 (ten-day average 144.6)
September 6: 143.8 (ten-day average 145.1)
October 6: 139.6 (ten-day average 140.1)
November 6: 144.4 (ten-day average 144.3)
December 6: 144.6 (ten-day average 144.7)
I weighed less yesterday than a month before that by scale weight by a significant amount, but looking at average weight, I was up a half pound. That's the more important number in reality. Today I am nearly the same as a month ago by scale weight - up by an amount that's probably within the margin of error. My average weight is up nearly, but not quite, a half pound. That's better than yesterday. I WILL get back to goal. Not sure when, but I will find success. You will too!
September 7: 144.8 (ten-day average 145.1)
October 7: 139.2(ten-day average 140.0)
November 7: 143.0 (ten-day average 144.3)
December 7: 145.4 (ten-day average 144.7)
Nope. I weigh more than the seventh of all months in the last quarter with the exception of my weight TREND compared to September. If I didn't go off the rails with FOOD yesterday, I could have written something different. So I'll own it and move along towards a more successful week. AND as a bonus, it sets me up for success on January 7, right?

@MadisonMolly2017 Oh yeah! The trend matters more than a single data point. Even more powerful than what I report here, perhaps, is the weighted moving average. I just report a ten-day average here, which still levels out the noise in the data.
My trend since the beginning of October has had way more of a slope than I like, and it's going the wrong way. But now with even MORE data, I can see, or at least imagine, that it's also an ANNUAL trend as I gained weight from October through December 2017 and October through December 2018. This time it's not as big, and maybe I can shut it down BEFORE the end of December. Will I be able to? Stay tuned to find out!
December 8, 2018 (one year ago): 151.2 (ten-day average 151.1)
September 8: 147.0 (ten-day average 145.1)
October 8: 139.4 (ten-day average 140.1)
November 8: 145.0 (ten-day average 144.4)
December 8: 145.4 (ten-day average 145.0)
Nope.
Both my scale and average weight are up about a half pound from one month ago. Once again, if I look back three months I can claim success, but just by a tiny bit on the average. I looked back at the last three years, and there's a pattern where I gain October, November, and December and then get back to goal in January and February. Good news is that the increase was less this year than last year and it was less last year than 2017. So if looking back a YEAR instead of a month, I can say that's a success again. Yeah. I'm stretching here, but there ya go.
December 9, 2018 (one year ago): 151.0 (ten-day average 151.5)
September 9: 147.2 (ten-day average 145.2)
October 9: 141.8 (ten-day average 140.2)
November 9: 145.8 (ten-day average 144.5)
December 9: 145.6 (ten-day average 145.1)
Hey! Good news! At least by scale weight; I'm just a touch less than one month ago. Yay! Then I look at that average, and I can't celebrate quite as much. That's up four tenths. Oh well. I'll fix that! Looking back one quarter, I can say I'm successful on both counts, and I know this challenge is just a one-month look back, but I needed some good news. Better news? I'm SURE better than a year ago, and given what I wrote yesterday about a pattern of gaining in October, November, and December, being less than a year ago is also a success since I'm supposed to be in maintenance, not in weight loss.
Is daily updating too much? Maybe I should reduce the frequency of my check-in?

Looks great to me!
I’m doing daily until I get back to my 153-155 maintenance goal range. Then I’ll see.
Trends make more sense & I think you might be in your goal weight range.

@MadisonMolly2017 - yes, I'm still in my goal range and that's good. Even better, I've been pretty steady where I am, so that's good too. My challenge is that I'm just a little higher in my range than I'd like.
Today's report is about the same as yesterday's:
December 10, 2018 (one year ago): 150.0 (ten-day average 151.7)
September 10: 143.6 (ten-day average 145.1)
October 10: 141.0 (ten-day average 140.4)
November 10: 145.6 (ten-day average 144.6)
December 10: 145.2 (ten-day average 145.0)
Similar to yesterday, I'm a little less by scale than a month ago, but not quite by ten-day average. By average, I am almost unchanged from three months ago. By both measures, I'm better than a year ago.
On holiday where Internet is spotty, so posting infrequently
December 3rd 90.2, a month earlier 89.0 so challenge not achieved
December 4th 90.3, a month earlier 89.6 so challenge not achieved

December 10th 90.2, a month earlier 89.9 so challenge not achieved
I'm not doing particularly well, in the first month I didn't lose weight which isn't helping. I've stopped having sugar (see the 30 day counting sugar challenge) recently which will help a lot.

November 11: 147.0 (ten-day average 145.0)
December 11: 145.6 (ten-day average 144.9)
Finally a success by scale AND average.
It doesn't really feel like it though since I'm back up from yesterday again, and my November 11 weight was the highest recorded scale weight for over a month before that. I have to look back over at least a six-month period to see a happier pattern. Looking back a full year also shows success.
I've stayed pretty consistent last seven days; just bouncing around in a 0.4 pound range. Still trying to move that ten-day average down to my goal weight. It will happen. There's a chance I can post another success tomorrow. If I get back to yesterday's scale weight, I'll be exactly the same as one month ago tomorrow, and I'll call that a success.

Today I am nearly the same as a month ago by scale weight - up by an amount that's probably within the margin of error. My average weight is up nearly, but not quite, a half pound. That's better than yesterday. I WILL get back to goal. Not sure when, but I will find success. You will too!
Yep! We will! Glad we are both in this journey. 2 lbs to go! 😁
Of course it will likely bounce up tomorrow, but I’m eating cleanly & walking & moving!
September 7: 144.8 (ten-day average 145.1)
October 7: 139.2(ten-day average 140.0)
November 7: 143.0 (ten-day average 144.3)
December 7: 145.4 (ten-day average 144.7)
Nope. I weigh more than the seventh of all months in the last quarter with the exception of my weight TREND compared to September. If I didn't go off the rails with FOOD yesterday, I could have written something different. So I'll own it and move along towards a more successful week. AND as a bonus, it sets me up for success on January 7, right?
@mtaratoot
But the trend wt is what matters, no?

@mtaratoot You are successful!
September 9: 147.2 (ten-day average 145.2)
October 9: 141.8 (ten-day average 140.2)
November 9: 145.8 (ten-day average 144.5)

Hey!

Today's report is about the same as yesterday's:
December 10, 2018 (one year ago): 150.0 (ten-day average 151.7)
September 10: 143.6 (ten-day average 145.1)
October 10: 141.0 (ten-day average 140.4)
November 10: 145.6 (ten-day average 144.6)
December 10: 145.2 (ten-day average 145.0)
Similar to yesterday, I'm a little less by scale than a month ago, but not quite by ten-day average. By average, I am almost unchanged from three months ago. By both measures, I'm better than a year ago.
December 3rd 90.2, a month earlier 89.0 so challenge not achieved
December 4th 90.3, a month earlier 89.6 so challenge not achieved
December 5th ns, a month earlier 90.6
December 6th ns, a month earlier 90.2
December 7th 91.7, a month earlier 89.5 so challenge not achieved
December 8th 90.5, a month earlier 90.3 so challenge not achieved
December 9th 89.5, a month earlier 89.6 SUCCESS
December 10th 90.2, a month earlier 89.9 so challenge not achieved
I'm not doing particularly well, in the first month I didn't lose weight which isn't helping. I've stopped having sugar (see the 30 day counting sugar challenge) recently which will help a lot.
