Finally! After a slow, steady increase the last quarter of 2019, I'm heading back towards goal, and I'm almost there. By scale, I've lost 3.2 pounds in January, and by my ten day average almost a pound. Yay! My average weight is lower than one, two, and 12 months ago. My average weight three months ago was in a short period that it was at my lowest EVER. I may or may not get back there as it was actually below my goal range, but it felt good to be so successful. I look forward to reporting next week that I am below all three of these measures. Feels good to be back!

Thanks @MadisonMolly2017. And as you are well aware, we both will have to CONTINUE to work hard to maintain where we've come. My fourth quarter 2019 is evidence of this. I am looking forward to see what 2020 brings. I am optimistic I can make those fluctuations a little smaller, and I am REALLY hoping I can avoid the fourth quarter gain that I've experienced in 2018 and 2019. If I do have a gain, I am hoping it's smaller than 2019 which was smaller than 2018.
Maybe some day in a few years I will be able to say, "I think I've got this licked." Of course once I lick it, I will think it tastes awesome and then eat it.π

Low-normal to hypertension I the one time I βlet looseβ, I wonβt be doing that again.

I am in maintenance with a goal weight of 143 pounds and an allowable goal range of 140-150 pounds. I've been gaining slowly from October 1. I update once per week and report my ten-day average weight.
January 18, 2019: Ten-day average 149.2
October 18: Ten-day average 142.4
November 18: Ten-day average 144.8
December 18: Ten-day average 144.8
January 18: Ten-day average 143.5
I am continuing to recover from my slow steady gains the last quarter of 2019. I am essentially back to my goal weight. There is one anomaly; I had a gut bug, so my one-day scale weight today is lower than it should be at 139.8. It should recover in a day or two, but I'm optimistic I will keep my average where it is or just a little below. I played around with the idea of taking my goal weight down a little more, but I'm not willing to cut calories to maintenance at the lower weight, so 143 it is. If I get below by some odd luck, that's fine. My oringial goal when I started MFP was three pounds heavier, so I've already surpassed that, and I'm good with it.
As far as relating to past months: My average weight is lower than one, two, and 12 months ago. My average weight three months ago was in a short period that it was at my lowest EVER. I may or may not get back there as it was actually below my goal range, but it felt good to be so successful. I look forward to reporting next week that I am below all three of these measures. Then, in a couple months, I expect I will no longer be weighing in less than ANY of these because I'll be stable at maintenance. Wish me luck.

Success!
I got back to, and actually below my goal weight. I had a relapse overnight, and while the scale is up three pounds from yesterday, my ten-day average is unchanged for the last three days, and has been within 0.1 pounds for the entire week. Yay! Now I just have to keep it here.

Can I say that your Thursday is inspiring? You were concerned about the lunch with friend, and you ended up lower. That IS success. I love cornbread, but I don't typically like what they serve at restaurants. More like cake. I can eat the heck out of my savory cornbread....

I struggled this week, but ended it lower than a month ago by a pound and lower than two months ago by an insignificant amount. Heavier than three months ago (and four if you're checking), and definitely better than a year ago.

Iβve finally discovered a WOE that really works for me!! Protein pacing & eating at home!
If I ate the dessert & cornbread...A: Iβd have to βget offβ foods like that again UGH B: I wouldnβt feel good physically C: I would not have hit my goal for the MFP UAC Group.

Because I gained & now lost some, I can begin to think my weight is good.... It is better, but still in the π₯βs ie not back in maintenance range yet!

Can I say that your Thursday is inspiring? You were concerned about the lunch with friend, and you ended up lower. That IS success. I love cornbread, but I don't typically like what they serve at restaurants. More like cake. I can eat the heck out of my savory cornbread....

Iβve finally discovered a WOE that really works for me!! Protein pacing & eating at home!
If I ate the dessert & cornbread...A: Iβd have to βget offβ foods like that again UGH B: I wouldnβt feel good physically C: I would not have hit my goal for the MFP UAC Group.
BTW: Your successes have inspired me all along. Iβve noted what you went through & how you managed it! VERY Inspiring- plus I love we are graph geeks

The struggle is real. My only regret, and I likely won't change it much, is that I let the scale increases get into my head. Why I do that I don't know. I pay attention to the trend, but apparently still sweat the small stuff. Of course when the TREND tells me I need to pay more attention, that (oddly) doesn't always bother me as much. Very odd. I know I can maintain, and I know I can get back down to my goal if I drift up. But....
So yeah, thanks. I need to step back more often and look at the long game. I'm doing ok. My apologies in advance for the next thousand times I complain about what my accurate tool tells me. It is correct, but I just need to remember what I tell others - it is measuring more than my lean mass and my fat mass. It integrates it ALL.
I look forward to next week's update as I'm hoping to be back down to goal by scale AND trend. Will it happen? Stay tuned!1 -
