Day/Weight/Comment
11/09: 159.8-Jumped rope for the first time in 20 years. It was so easy when I was a kid but now it’s a workout from 😈🌋🔥
11/10: 159.8-45 minutes elliptical. First time getting past 20 minutes felt easy.
11/11: 159.8:🤔. 2nd week of N2R, it’s going well and am happy that getting outside for a walk/run when it’s cold feels surprisingly good.
11/12: 159.0-Nice to finally see this number move!
11/13: 159.0-Active rest day. Back to N2R on Thursday.
11/14: 159.4-Strength day, knee push-ups, and stretching. Knees a little achy and it’s 18 outside, may skip the N2R today.
11/15: 159.0-35 minutes rowing, felt great.
11/16: 159.0-Yoga and a nice long walk, love the scent of fallen leaves!
11/17: 159.0-Strength/legs. Holding pattern but okay with it, body recomp makes up for the slow drop.
11/18: 159.0 -A little less than where I started, so yay. Love that my endurance has increased dramatically, such a win for me.15 -

Goal : 1 lb this round
11/09 134.2 : I didn't sleep the previous night so ate cookies. Then in the evening I was starving and the only thing there was cheese and crackers, so those have led to a little bump. But!! Today is Saturday and I'm going to make sure my usual weekend sabotage doesn't happen.
11/10 133.6 I was one calorie over for yesterday and didn't eat any sweet. Also, I didn't feel like eating cheese yesterday and was wondering what to put on my toast for a very light dinner. Sprinkled some nutritional yeast on top and was supremely pleased with myself!
11/11 133.6 not bad since I was home and had easy access to snacks! Armistice day today.
11/12 134 I should expect this because I was at maintenance calories by the time I finished for the evening with pretzels and ranch dressing. Hello, salt, thanks for sticking around 😆 good news is that the elliptical seemed very comfortable! And I was at a faster pace than usual. I think today I am going to have some low-salt foods, and water.
11/13 134 I was sad and anxious last evening so I ate more than I should have. I feel awful this morning 😔 but have to think positive. Everything will be fine.
11/13 133.8. nothing else to report!
11/14 133.8. I'm so glad I signed up for the group. I'm having a tough time in the evening and go over my calories, but I keep thinking that I have to report here and it's keeping me from going berserk. I don't even have anything fantastic, just mindless stupid eating for no reason. Once again, this week I realized how much working out helps my anxiety come down, so I've been doing that every evening after work. Thinking about adding a short walk immediately after dinner so I can break out of the after- dinner habit.
11/15 133.2 yay! Now I have to be careful this weekend and not backtrack. Good news is I have plenty of housework to do that will keep me busy. I've come down from the anxiety a little but fight it. Best to keep occupied
11/17 134.6 because I ate a lot. I'm really mad at myself because I felt like I was on a great track and one day had put me back to square 1.
11/18 133.8 I'll be honest, I was beating myself up a bit yesterday and disappointed that I would be finishing higher than at the start. I decided to quit rather face that! But then I saw someone's post saying we all have good rounds and bad rounds, and don't stay away. So I got on the scale and am down! So I'm glad I kept trying yesterday and watched my intake and listened to my body. Now I have to do it again 😄14 -

Day/Weight/Comment
11/09 - 170.4
I’m in a “stashing stuff away” frenzy today — painters coming Monday to do the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Two to three days of chaos, but YAY! I have hated the colors in this house since before we bought it, and have been chiseling away at them since late summer. I love color (I’m a watercolorist and my garden and “real” house are full of bright, happy colors). I’ve always known that dull, grayed-out colors depress me, and I recently read an article about several studies that show that working in gray or tan/brown office spaces correlates with depression and — surprise — excess weight, especially in women. Something to think about. Anyway, I’m really excited! I want to have a “happy colors party” when it’s done! Maybe I’ll even be able to stick to my happy foods better. Enjoy your weekend, all.
11/10 - 170.2
Our house is a pre-painting mess, and I’m so excited about the painting finally getting done (we’ve been here 18 months and I’ve longed for brighter colors since day one). DH made a big pot of veggie soup to make some meals easier. I’ll try not to snack! Enjoy your Sunday!
11/11 - 170.4
Painters are here today, and hopefully will finish tomorrow, so we have to eat out while the kitchen’s torn up. I’ll try to behave!
11/12 - 169.6
Snow! We’re in that big band that swept across the country, as I know many of you are, too. It’s gorgeous and bright this morning. Stay warm!
11/13 - 170
Sodium from lunch out yesterday, and (eep!) cashews I ate last night. Painters here again today, but a short day. Almost finished. I'm SO HAPPY about the change from dull, dirty walls to bright, clean, light, color!
11/14 - 169.4
Happy the temp has risen out of the teens.
11/15 - 169
With the house painted (other than the bedroom, which may wait until after the holidays, although....) I feel I can finally settle into a routine of exercise (gotta get back to the Y) and healthful food and writing and painting (watercolor, not walls,). I expect to do better on the weight front with less disruption, and despite the holidays. I stocked up yesterday on salad and other veggies. I’m going to pick up my knitting needles for tv time — can’t eat and knit!
11/16 - 169.6
Bouncy bouncy. It’s fine, I know I ate responsibly yesterday and the previous two days, so it’s all good. Have a lovely weekend, all!
11/17 - 169.6
I stuck to my goals yesterday, so all good!
11/18 - 169.6
Okay. Not as low as I’d hoped for this round, but it’s better than gaining! Next round. See you there!

Tom arrives mid-late this round depending on if it wants to be early, on time, or late. My goals are to stay on track and end less than I started.
11/09 276.2 There’s the drop back down. We’ll see what tomorrow brings though as I’m a little under the weather and my entire schedule today is off.
11/10 278.8 I binged last night, after helping a friend move. I was tired, a little stressed from the day, and oddly hungry. Today this bounce up is brought to me by pizza, cookies, and helping move furniture. I’m sure it will go in a few days.
11/11 279.0 No drop yet, but I have been experiencing all the pre tom symptoms that I get about a day or two before it shows. Once it shows the water weight should hopefully go.
11/12 276.6 That’s back in the right direction. Tom arrived late last night and as I thought the water weight has started to drop.
11/13 275.8 Back down plus a little more.
11/14 275.6 Yesterday was my rest day. I take them on Wednesday because my weekends start on Thursday evening with grocery shopping and then errands all weekend. One of my favorites has become walking over to the mini grocery/burger place to pick up milk and eggs because they have the best of both in town.
11/15 275.2 I oddly prefer the slower weight loss, when it whooshes a lot I fear that I’m under eating and it leads to me to going it’s okay if I eat too much. When it’s slower I worry about screwing up the progress and it’s easier for me to stay on track.
11/16 274.0 I was not expecting that drop at all. I went out to lunch with my husband yesterday and we walked to the nearby burger place. I got a burger but without mayo and the like, ate about half my fries and stayed well within my calories for the day.
11/17 273.6 My husband and I walked to the burger place twice yesterday. Once we went to pick up sour cream for our tacos because they have the best dairy products in town. The second time we went for some ice cream because I was a little low on calories for the day. I considered getting a half gallon box of something, but feared that I would binge on it later, so I got what I could have in a cup. All in all it was a very nice day. Today I’m hopeful of having a minor rest day, I’ve been on the go enough to get 9-10k in steps a day over the last few days. Of course the nice weather might work against that plan just a little bit.
11/18 274.0 I did have a bit of a rest day, my steps ending up only a few steps from 8k and I didn’t get on the exercise bike. I think the bounce is from sodium as it had been pretty high the last few days and I’m not 100% sure that I got in all my water. It’s all good though as I’m pretty happy with my progress this round.
TRL: -3.2 pounds

Round 94 was a good round and I lost each day. This morning, though, because of my terribly carb heavy and high calorie day yesterday I am right back where I started on Round 94.
Day/Weight/Comment
Nov 9 - 191.0 - another carb heavy day yesterday and way too many calories
Nov 10 - 190.0 - a better day yeaterday
Nov 11 - 189.8 - another decent day yesterday. I need to stay away from the cheese at night.
Nov 12 - 188.6 - another decent day, but late night snacking is getting me
Nov 13 - 188.2
Nov 14 - 189.2 - not a good day yesterday
Nov 15 - 188.0 - a much better day yesterday, certainly not perfect but a long way from where it has been.
Nov 16 - 187.8 - I had a miserable eating day yesterday I am surprised at the number this morning.
Nov 17 - 189.2 - a lot of sodium and not much water yesterday.
Nov 18 - 188.0 - a good day yesterday, I wasnt very hungry.

I didn't eat a lot of food, just filling. I prepared the food for my & DH's visit to DS's home yesterday. Creamy fire roasted tomato and red pepper soup, mushrooms stuffed with turkey sausage & cream cheese, broccoli bites and purchased naan, truffle cheddar cheese and artichoke spread for nibbles. Anytime I cook, my Son and DIL are happy and excited for the food. 😊

55 lbs lost since returning to MFP, Oct. 2017
69 (76.8) lbs lost since Sept. 201713 -
Starting over (again) and badly need the accountability of posting here every day. Did several rounds a while back and lost weight with the support of everyone here. Looking forward to catching up with everyone, losing weight and feeling good again. Unfortunately, I've fallen into the habit of eating whatever whenever. I sit at a desk 8 hours every day and go home and sit on the couch. A couple of years ago, I was walking 12,000 steps a day and weighed 25 lbs less. My best advice - don't tell yourself that letting go one or two days won't matter. Even on your bad days - do something! Eat one less bite, walk one more step. NOW, I must try to follow my own advice. Here goes...
Starting weight - 179.0
Short term goal weight - 170.0
11/09
11/10
11/11 - 179.0 (Day 1)
11/12 - 176.8 (Day 2) I love this big drop but know its just from not eating whatever I wanted all day! But it is motivation to keep going. I always struggle getting started eating right again (Well actually its not starting - I start every other day). This is day 2 and shooting for day 3. We've got snow and ice here in Southern Illinois. I'm thinking treadmill tonight - got to get off the couch! I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.
11/13 - 175.8 (Day 3) Yesterday was good! I did get on the treadmill for 20 minutes and was under on my calories. Today is the one year wedding anniversary for my daughter and her husband. I am so proud of them. They have worked hard and are succeeding. I am prepared for today, ready, set, go.
11/14 - 175.0 (Day 4) Another good day! I did have a small piece of pizza for dinner but was under on calories. I put in another 20 minutes on the treadmill. I hope to keep this trend going. I am trying to exercise every night at 6:00 pm so that when I look at the clock and see that it is 6:00 pm, it will send a message to my brain that I need to get moving. I saw this tip somewhere and I think it might work (for me). Good luck today everyone with whatever goal you are working to achieve. We can do this.
11/15 - 174.8 (Day 5) Doing alright. Missed lunch yesterday and had kind of a large dinner. Hamburger on bun, with lettuce and tomato/one airfried onion ring (from the freezer section boo - but delicious) and steamed carrots. Lots of carbs but calories weren't too bad. 20 minutes on the treadmill and under on calories. Pet sitting for my daughter tonight so no treadmill. Will spend the evening wrestling with her dog. That's considered exercise right?
11/16 - DNW - No scales this morning. I did well yesterday but today (Saturday) has not been good at all. Did well until I got home and then just started grazing. It will show on the scales in the morning. Just have to reset and not let the weekend be a total bust.
11/17 - 175.2 - The grazing yesterday didn't cause too much damage. I just have to stay the course.
11/18 - 176.4 - Glad to be back at work. Weekends are a challenge and I just haven't figured out how to handle them. Looking forward. Good breakfast and good start to the day. Not a great end to the round but I did have an overall loss so I'm going to celebrate that!13 -

11/09 160.5 Another pound, that’s very unexpected. I’m sure it will be higher tomorrow. I did see 159 briefly but it’s right there. Walked three last night, they’ve changed my favorite trail a little- made it easier but I prefer the old way. It was more challenging.
11/10 and 11/11 Did not weigh
11/12 164.1 Wow. Yeah, it's sodium as best as I can tell. I didn't eat 4 pounds worth of food since Friday. I got in a long wonderful walk on Saturday before the weather turned cold and we had our first snow of the year. It's 13 degrees right now. Going to the gym tonight.
11/13 163.3 And back down we go wheeeeee. Once again I blew off the gym to go for a walk. It was sunny and inviting while this afternoon is supposed to be overcast and gloomy... I have no excuse. I did walk 3 fast (for me) miles before it got dark. This morning I really wanted to stop for the most delicious chicken biscuit but that thing has over 1310 mg of sodium. I can afford the calories (450) but the amount of sodium is crazy. I crave the crunchy, the slightly sweet and slightly salty deliciousness but instead, I come to the office and have oatmeal and a banana. I try to remind myself 1) oatmeal and fruit are way better than fried chicken and a biscuit 2) the cost of the sandwich is over $3 while the oatmeal/banana total cost is less than $.50 3) Ten minutes after eating the biscuit it feels like a brick in my stomach.
11/14 No Scale Due to work I didn't get to leave KC until after 4:00. It is a 3.5-hour drive but I drink a lot of tea and water so for me, it's 4 hours. Once again I didn't go to the gym because I was grumpy and it was dark and cold. I got my dinner and brought it back to the hotel. I did stay within calories and I got to see my BF for about 10 minutes. Sometimes you have to take the good where you can find it.
11/15 No Scale Good work day yesterday and a 4-mile walk. Stayed under on calories so all good! I look forward to weighing in tomorrow. Fingers crossed I stayed on track sodium wise. Driving home today, it's 45 and sunny so I think you all know I will be stopping for a walk along the river Happy Friday
11/16 160.2 yeah! That was better than expected. I really need to be good this weekend I want to end the round overweight and not obese. Long day yesterday drove home from StL had to go another 45 minutes west of KC for a meeting then back home. I got in a three-mile walk along the Kaw River at sunset.
11/17 160.7 Not ideal but probably more realistic. I did go out for a very nice dinner and am very happy to only be up .5. No official exercise other than chasing after this monster.
11/18 160.9 I'm down for the round though still technically obese. I walked 4 miles yesterday but went over on calories because our old friend TOM showed up. I hate that I can't seem to control that better than I do but it doesn't last long. See you in Round 96. I see my beautiful niece pic did not load correctly yesterday so here my girl helping me go through my jewelry.

NEVER GIVE UP! You can surprise yourself! I have.
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

11/9 123.0 Community Continental (Carby) Breakfast Bingo this morning. Oops! I forgot to come back to finish reading and to post! I didn’t eat the carbs!

11/11 122.0 Yesterday was a dinner party at some friends’. I didn’t have control of the menu but I made my meal as un-carby as I could except a small piece of Italian bread (meh) and the crust I couldn’t separate from my (shredded) chicken. I skipped the cake except for a taste.
Happy Veteran’s Day to former and current military! Thank you for your service! DH and 2 veteran friends are going to free buffet for lunch at one of the casinos.

11/13 122.0 Yesterday was a good gym day, I think. OMAD @ Golden Corral and a movie with DH
11/14 123.0 Not surprised as DH and I shared a caramel pecan roll at a new bakery. If anyone in California knows of a place in Ferndale called Humboldt Sweets, they are now in Henderson, NV! Definitely not good for my WOE! My mouth loved it, my belly did not.
11/15 123.5 I’m sure this is still the result of that roll. Got my flu shot yesterday. Workout at the gym was interrupted.
11/16 123.0 That roll on Wednesday started me down a slippery slope. I will recover! I’m trying a longer fast today - water and coffee only. I would like to be able to make it at least 24 hours and then longer to achieve autophagy.
11/17 122.0 Survived my 16 hour fast - LOL Ate over calories and fat macro and just under carbs and protein. Slept over 8.5 hours and woke with a terrible h/a. Stupid arthritis! Today I must go to the gym but I’m also fasting until this afternoon. Memorial for a friend who recently lost her battle with cancer. No matter what was happening she was always upbeat and positive.
11/18 122.0 Today is my husband’s birthday. He doesn’t like to make a big deal of it so wI won’t. Last night we took some friends to see the Christmas lights at the Cactus Garden at Ethel M Chocolate factory.

Hi, I’m Karen and I’m 53.
OSW-187 Sept. 2018
11/11-172-I was a few pounds lighter but sat and sewed for a week. I’m back home to do a weeks worth of laundry and leave for the rest of the week, tomorrow with my husband and sewing machine. He has business meetings in Monterey and I am bringing my walking shoes too. It will be relaxing and I WILL get exercise because there is a paved walking path along the beach, where I have run their half marathon in years past. I am looking forward to getting back to walking instead of the gym, I seem to weigh less, the more I walk, no matter how many weights I lift. I won’t have my scale, but I will keep in touch.
11/12-171-Got my 7 mile walk in yesterday and am a little sore. I leave this morning and will be able to walk and eat good where I’m going.
11/13-No Scale. I walked over 6 miles round trip along the ocean to the fabric store yesterday. I treated myself to a cup of clam chowder and a beer on the way back; it was nice that there was not any bread on the table. Otherwise, I ate well.
11/14-No Scale. Walked over 4 miles yesterday went out to big lunch but then had peanut butter and an apple for dinner.
11/15-No Scale. Yesterday was a travel day. We are at our old house we are selling, to do some work. No time for exercise, but plenty of work to do. Still eating healthy.
11/16-No Scale. More work and cleaning and then travel to a dinner event. I’ve eaten good all week and just need to continue it at dinner tonight: no bread (unhealthily carbs) or dessert.
11/17-No Scale
11/18-172-Heavy dinner, salty lunch and travel. Finally home and it’s Monday and the routine and a new round will start!
See all of you in the next round! 🌸☕️10 -

11/11 187.6 and there's the tom weight leaving! YAY!
11/12 187.3 Woohoo! 25lbs down in 90 days. I'm happy with that!
11/13 187.5 High on the sodium and ate my snack late last night so feeling a little bloated today. Another good deficit yesterday though!
11/14 187.4 Still feeling a little bloated but I'm working hard to meet my goal this round!
11/15 186.2 Yeyeaa! Now to hold steady over the weekend to meet my goal! NSV this morning! I squeezed my butt into some old size 10 pants. They're stretchy but still counts, right?! Considering size 14s were tight 3 months ago, I'm VERY happy!
11/16 186.3 Going out for dinner tonight sooo going to try and be good lol.
11/17 186.7 I'm surprised it wasn't higher considering I was not so good at dinner last night lol.
11/18 185.7 YESSSSS! ;D I exceeded my goal this round! Very happy!

Went off track a little with an impulse visit to a new brewery/restaurant. Boxed up half the food and still logged everything.
11/10: 189.6
Menu derailed a bit when we realized the meat we had been planning on cooking for dinner had gone bad so dinner was potato wedges and apple pie bites. Ended up not to far over my calorie goal though!
11/11: 190.2
Not much to say about today. I had the day off so I was a bit worried about mindless snacking but I avoided it.
11/12: 189.2
There's a restaurant across the street from my work that I go to once or twice a week for dinner if I work late. I fit it into my calorie budget but a future goal may be cutting back on that trip - I know I can get a lot more for my calories by cooking at home.
11/13: 189.0
Office manager treated everyone to Panera for lunch...I haven't eaten at Panera in years. I opted for a half sandwich and half size salad. Yummy!
11/14 188.2
This was one of those weird days where I didn't really feel like eating anything. Ended the day 550 calories under my goal so I'll probably end up binging a little tomorrow...I know I'll be hungrier.
11/15 187.0
No binging - go me! My fiance had the day off so he visited me at work for lunch. Leftovers for dinner and I ended up almost exactly at my calorie goal.
11/16 188.2
Local bar celebrated 25 years so obviously I threw on some denim and partied like it was 1994. Expecting an uptick in the morning.
11/17 188.2
Very carb heavy day. Maybe at some point I'll start tracking macros but I want to focus on accurate logging and overall calories first.

11/09 131.3, off to gym for 60 minutes today, volunteering for a couple of hours, going to a college football game watch, and making a new recipe with tofu (never made tofu before) for dinner so pretty busy Saturday for me.
11/10 131.3
11/11 131.2, lazy weekend but back at the gym today and still have tofu from Saturday. I made a pie yesterday as a trial before thanksgiving and it turned out well.
11/12 131.1, no gym today but ate leftovers of tofu stir fry for lunch and dinner
11/13 Trying a new Mac and cheese recipe with kale and leeks tonight for dinner and will go to the gym for 70 minutes for the elliptical. I need to get back to doing barre and hope to start that this weekend. It’s easy when you go regularly but you regress pretty quickly so I’m a bit intimidated. My birthday is next week so want to end this birth year on a high note.
11/14 131.0, leftover Mac and cheese and trivia night tonight. Been catching up on past seasons of British Bake Show at the gym so it’s a good way for me to do 60 minutes on the machine.
11/15 130.3, ate very well yesterday, but didn’t drink as much water as I should have. Going to drink three glasses before 10am so I start the day off hydrated.
11/16 129.5
11/17 130.2, hoping to stay on this side of 130. In going to a football game today and will not be perfect and with the end ending in a Monday, may be more damaging in the total than my usual weigh in day for other challenges on Wednesday’s

Round 95 -1.1 lbs

Female Age 59, 5'3"
MFP start weight October 28.18 - 191
October 07.19 -156.7
11/09 -161.1 Big gain to start this round. My knees went out 10 days ago, so no ice skating right now, my back went out on Thursday, so no cardio or exercise of any kind and the scale is showing it. Normally I burn 500+calories per day through exercise. I can't/won't drop my calories to 700 to make up for it. Maybe my body will adjust.
11/10 - 161.1 Sunday. Held steady. I was able to do a small bit of gentle walking yesterday. I normally skate up to 2 hours on Sundays, lamenting that I can't do it today.
11/11 - 160.3 - Hmm. Maybe my body still thinks that I burned 1,000+calories skating yesterday. I did some pilates for knees, and other youtube exercises for knees and back. An hour of that burns hardly any calories. I will be doing the same type of thing today.
11/12 - 160.2 - Pleased to not be gaining any more weight with my inability to do any cardio because of my back and knees. Did more exercises for knee pain (1 hour total), but am not getting any full-body circulation or fat blasting.
11/13 - 159.2 - Had to do more than 2 hours of walking for work yesterday, the first calorie burn that I have had in awhile since hurting my knees and then back. Back is mostly better, knees are a work in progress.
11/14 - 159.0
11/15 - 158.7 - Night out and a late dinner, so expected a gain. Happy to not see one and more motivated always to see a loss - it keeps me on track.
11/16 - 157.2 - I don't really want to count this as a loss, more like getting back to where I was in October and after being sidelined from activity for a few weeks.
11/17 - 159.5 - Yikes, more than 2 pounds in one day. Hopefully tomorrow is better.
11/18 - 158.4
Round 95 end weight - 158.411 -
@deepwoodslady - You're not kidding that Lady Marmalade is a great dance song!!! I can remember taping that song from the radio on my red panasonic tape recorder, haha. I know what I'll ask my Alexa to play when I get home from work tonight.
@jaccimc63 Alexa has the great original version so I know you'll be bouncing around tonight enjoying it. I throw some of my song choices out to inspire. Sometimes its hard in bad weather to get our typical outdoor activities in. I know you are from Ohio, me from Northern Michigan. Snow & Ice! I know sometimes I repeat some of the song choices, but there are always newbies so I think its okay. Any ideas you or others have would be great. I love a wide variety of music. Anyway, enjoy the dance!3 -

Victory was at-hand, but a life-changing incident happened, yesterday, and I completely abandoned my MFP lifestyle.
A big "thank you" to all of my patient and loyal MFP friends, especially Beth. I am tired and weary, and I've decided to check-out.
@oldephatguy I hope you are okay. Your message has left me a little worried. Please know, we are a very supportive group here, we don't expect perfection. We only cheer on those who have made goals & want the support. {{hugs}} to you. You don't have to eat perfect, exercise perfect or weigh-in perfect to have a presence in the lives of others. I, like the others, hope you will stay.7 -
Intro:Let me introduce myself. I struggled with my weight as a teen, topping out at nearly 200. I dropped it after high school and got to a healthy weight. Every major life changed has brought weight back on - having kids, pre-menopause, menopause, family tragedy, post menopause. I've knocked it back down each time, and have been surprised that each time required a different strategy, and resulted in a different type of lifestyle change to maintain. Each time as been much harder and slower. At this point, it's moving off at a snail's pace.
Motivation. I have a hyatial hernia. It does not bother me as long as I keep the weight at 150 or below. Every female on my mother's side has had arthritic knees, and I'm starting to feel twinges. They have also sustained falls and broken bones. My husband had a major health scare a coupe of years ago. The idea of being put out of commission by a preventable injury or illness scares the bejimminies out of me.
Goals. The goals at this stage are to drop weight to a healthy range, realign my eating style to a lifestyle that will keep me healthy into my golden years, and strengthen the muscles that support my knees, ankles, and shoulders, along with my core, to prevent injury.
Dropping weight post menopausal has been so difficult, I need this to be the last time. 10-15 pounds used to be easy to drop, so that was always my warning bell to focus. Not so much now. Looks like a 3-5 pound fluctuation will be it.
A healthy weight for me is 135-140. I've always looked anorexic at 120. We'll see how things are at 135, and go from there.
Strategy: Up the hydrating foods. Fruit with breakfast. Salad/veggies as bulk of lunch. Healthy dinner. Limit/eliminate processed carbs and sugars. Zero calorie intake after 8pm. Strength exercises 3 days on/1 day rest. Regular movement through day to compensate for desk job.
Female. Age 62 / 5'2"
OW: 158.5 (12/30/18)
UG: 135.0 (for now, healthy weight for me)
R95 SW: 146.3
R95 GW: 146.0 (you'll see why in a sec)
11/09 (S) 146.3 I was firmly in the 147's the week prior (147.1 on the 8th) This is a whoosh. Hoping it is the result of a modification to my WOE, where I've added fruit to breakfast and a handful of greens to lunch.
11/10 (S) 147.0 The expected spike after a whoosh. Had a higher than normal fat breakfast Saturday morning, skipped lunch, and had frozen appetizers (high sodium) for dinner watching the Xfinity Race (we're big NASCAR fans here). Skipped fruit altogether. Did have a salad with the appetizer dinner).
11/11(M) 147.0 Another big Sunday breakfast with high fat and no fruit. Skipped lunch. Again. Tacos during the Monster Cup Race. Higher fat than one expects. Sodium was high as well, so drink extra water to accommodate - and that looks to be a successful strategy. Blueberries for an evening snack.
So. Next weekend are the Championship races for all 3 series. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We make a huge big deal out of this. It's my family's Super Bowl. I need to plan ahead so I'm not stuck in kitchen and we have plenty to eat. I also need to make sure I'm moving early and afterwards - that's a lot of TV time.
11/12 (T) 146.9 Nice. Ripped the water intake, and stayed on plan. Tried a new recipe for gazpacho for lunch! Have enough of the ingredients for a second batch for lunch today! Had salmon cakes for dinner. Family tradition calls for fried white potatoes as a side 😳 I splurged with a half size portion and added a spinach salad. Win for everyone. 😊
Having the family in Sunday for the big race 🏁 Decided on a menu of chili w/ground turkey & a big bowl of salad. Oven baked chicken strips for the kiddos. Fruit & salad tray and hummus with low carb flat bread for snacks should keep me and daughter in-law out of the inevitable chips & dip. I think I've got this!
11/13 (W) 146.4 These are morning weigh ins. Yesterday was an on track day for eating and water intake. Worked late, missed dinner so had an after 8pm snack. I could have easily ditched my strength exercises, but dragged myself out of chair once I was fueled up. Good day!
11/14 (T) 147.0 Ugh. Skipped workout. Missed breakfast. Canned soup with big sodium for lunch. Last two days of work have been brutal prepping for a monthly briefing. Stress + long hours + high sodium + reduction in water intake + skipped workout. Had a pretty good idea it would show up on scale. Need to get back on track today. Still have time to end round at goal.
11/15 (F) 146.6 Work is still nuts. I did get some aerobics in early. Was mindful of water intake, and back on eating plan. I'm fortunate to not have to severely limit sodium, but it's clear that high sodium days pull me off target.
11/16 (S) 147.9 Ugh. All on me. I missed breakfast and lunch, and ended up grazing. Exhausted at the end of the day, I ended up ordering dinner in. Half a calzone. Imagine the sodium and high fat will meet a setback on the scale. Will need to focus. I've got the family Race Day here tomorrow. Good news is I have shopping and lots of cleaning to do - that and upping water should help get this back down.
11/17 (S) 146.7 That's better. I got my exercising in early. I did not hit grocery store, so that's on tap this morning. I spent all day yesterday tackling a corner of clutter that's been building up for almost 2 years. Nothing strenuous, but constant movement and several trips up and down the stairs. It's done! And I'd guess that garbage bag weighed around 20 pounds - so that certainly adds to the feeling of being lighter! 😜
Today's the big day! NASCAR Championship Race! Go Denny! I may adopt his hashtag #WeCanWeWi11 (he drives the 11 car). Need to get my exercises in, run to grocery store, cooking on tap, run the vac, and dust. Should get a good calorie burn! Menu is a ground turkey based chili, big bowl of salad, and a fruit & veggie tray. Hoping to get that last 7/10's off and hit the goal this round.
11/18 (M) 145.3 So. Managed the family gathering yesterday with no weight gain or sodium bloat. Yesterday's drop was a after a sodium bloat and mindful water intake. Normal for me. This is a whoosh. If it follows the norm, I will see a spike in the morning. But I'll take it!
R95 End Results - down 1 lb. This challenge has been helpful to me. I track food and exercise in MFP, but I don't journal. Keeping daily notes has been helpful at deciphering what works and what doesn't. Plus, this group has been incredibly supportive! I'll be back for R96!

11/08 …..186.8….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
11/09 …..186.8 ….. Yesterday’s stats: 1625 Calories In / 2666 Calories Out. 35 Net Carbs of mainly Spaghetti Squash. 18,221 Total Steps & 7.71 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 25 minutes. Something is going on with my sleep. I am sleeping more hours & even having some fleeting dreams again after decades of none to recall. I hope this is a good thing and not indicative of my recent health issues. Yesterday I walked at the school (no mall in my area) for 4.21 miles which took about 99 minutes and burned 551 extra calories. I also took a small cold walk around my property for 13 minutes burning an additional 66 calories. Total extra calorie burn 617.
11/10 …..186.6 ….. Yesterday’s stats: 1150 Calories In / 2873 Calories Out. 28 Net Carbs. 18,138 Total Steps & 7.68 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 44 minutes. (Another great night). I walked for 95 minutes at 3.0 mph to burn 511. I rigorously cleaned tourist cabins for 54 minutes to burn 265 calories. I did low-impact aerobics for 20 minutes to burn 129 calories. Total extra calorie burn 905. Sunday (today) will also be challenging as the school is closed to walkers. Getting creative again…..
11/11 …..185.8 ….. Yesterday’s stats: 1208 Calories In / 3039 Calories Out. 36 Net Carbs. 18,477 Total Steps & 7.82 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 27 minutes. I walked for 17 minutes at 4.0 mph burning 113 cals, I walked for 39 minutes at 3.0 burning 222 cals, I did misc cardio exercises for 31 minutes burning 133 cals and I did my crazy dancing in my livingroom for 58 minutes burning 467 calories. Sample song “While my guitar gently weeps” by the Beatles.
11/12 …..188.6 ….. Here is what I do know. Over 2000 calories In/ ??? Calories Out. Over 200 Carbs including Pizza. 15,093 Total Steps & 6.39 Total Miles. 9/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 19 minutes. Yesterday was a combination of emotional eating and splurging. Today is redemption day. I will be walking at the school and eating a combined low cal/low carb diet. Tightening the belt. No regrets. No guilt.
11/13 …..188.6 ….. [/color=fuchsia Yesterday’s stats: 2171 Calories In / 3032 Calories Out. 164 Total Carbs. 21,453 Total Steps & 9.08 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 2 minutes and woke up tired. Yesterday I walked at 3.5 mph for 102 minutes school-hall walking and burned an additional 657 Calories over normal activity.
11/14 …..188.8 ….. Yesterday’s stats: 1730 Calories In/3226 Calories Out. 85 Net Carbs. 26,157 Total Steps & 11.07 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 40 minutes and woke up extremely tired. Early guests arriving so no chance for more sleep. I school-hall walked for 122 minutes burning an additional 676 calories over normal activity.
11/15 …..188.0 ….. Yesterday’s stats: 2081 Calories In / 2834 Calories Out. 88 Net Carbs of Junk mini candy & 2% milk. 20,149 Total Steps & 8.53 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 30 minutes and needed much more, but the Directv technician was scheduled for this morning (still not here!) so I had to get my fat lazy butt up. Yesterday I walked 104 minutes in the school halls and burned 600 calories.
11/16 …..187.8 ….. Over Calorie, Over Carb. I think I lost 0.2 due to a much needed TMI likely caused by the junk I ate, but I’ll take it. Yesterday’s stats: 2135 Calories In / 2514 Calories Out. 150 Total Carbs. 15,130 Total Steps & 6.4 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit step hours. I’m not sure about sleep, I charged my fitbit last night & forgot to put it back on before sleeping. I think I hit over 5 hours but still woke up tired from the sugary carbs. Already starving today due to the carb intake last night, so now I will have a tougher day because of it. I must remember this when my binges come on. I walked 52 minutes burning 252 calories around my property in 3 different spurts. School closed to walking and too cold and icy outside. It was a paperwork day at the home/office.
11/17 …..187.0 ….. If I watch my P’s & Q’s I can break even this round. I’m not too happy that I couldn’t make more progress, but I ate most of the days at maintenance range, so I guess I get what I asked for. I was invited to dinner by my neighbor and the salmon was great. The sweet potato was delicious and healthy but a bit high on my carb list. I skipped the bread and allowed for the sweet potato in my day. All is well. Yesterday’s stats: 1418 Calories In / 2649 Calories Out. 45 Net Carbs. 17,247 Total Steps & 7.3 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 9 minutes and woke up refreshed. I walked for 60 minutes at about 3.0 mph burning 347 calories. I aerobic danced for 31 minutes burning 203 calories. Total extra calorie burn was 550. Sample song “Lady Marmalade” by Patti LaBelle because it is, after all, one of the best dance songs EVER! One more day to lose 0.2 to break even. Anything over that, I get to type in pink so I’m staying focused!
11/18 …..185.8 ….. A whoosh I didn’t expect but JUST IN TIME. Honestly, probably not deserved because I ate another meal after I closed out MFP last night. Hungry, shaky. I stopped a binge in its tracks, but I ended over calorie & carb after all. Yesterdays stats: 2078 Calories In / 2671 Calories Out. 81 Net Carbs. 15,135 Total Steps & 6.4 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 3 minutes! That is great for me! Did that contribute to my whoosh? I guess I’ll never know. I walked for 21 minutes at 4.0 mph and I walked for 43 minutes at 2.5 mph. Total extra calorie burn 337. A great round everyone!

Looks like a lot of us met our goal and those who didn't came darn close. Nice work everyone!
69 y/o female (5’7”) who enjoys hiking, lifting weights, walking with my doggie (Penny Lane) and swimming (but only in the summer......LOL). I've lost 45 lbs to date but have been at the high end of my maintenance weight all year and would love to get back to losing that elusive 10 lbs. I originally lost 60 lbs from 2013 to 2016 but have put 15 back on over the last few years. I’m not going to even try to get down to 150 again but will settle for 155 especially since the holidays are just around the corner.
RSW: 165 on 11/08
RGW: 163
UGW: 155
Maintenance calories are around 1600 to 1700 with a little exercise. My goal calories right now are 1300 to 1400 without eating any back unless I really burn it up. I figure my logging mistakes make up for the 300 to 400 extra calories I might burn 4 or 5 days a week. I also tend to eat a bit more on the weekend. This year's weight gain is basically from exercising a bit less and not changing my intake. DOH, who knew?
Day/Weight/Comment
11/09: 164.8 Did a 2 mile quick walk with Penny this morning.
11/10: 164.2 Managed a quick shoulder/tricep workout this morning

11/12: 164.0 A little bump up but had ice cream after closing my diary out. Just a walk and work today
11/13: 163.7 I really need to focus if I want to reach my goal. Physical Therapy today so not sure how many extra calories I’ll actually burn
11/14: 163.5 Slowly but surely I guess. Taking Penny out for a 2 mile walk (restricted to 2 for now) and doing my PT exercises
11/15: 163.3 If I can control myself this weekend I might make this round’s goal. Lots of exercise today, 65 minutes of hip therapy (at the gym and at home) and 60 minutes of strength training.
11/16: 163.5 Eating lunch with a dear relative today at a hamburger place but will try to settle for the soup....LOL
11/17: 163.3 Luckily my sandwich yesterday wasn't very good so I didn't really bother eating much of it.....LOL
11/18: 162.7 Kept things low yesterday and it paid off. Monday's are a tough weigh in day!12 -

Goal(s) for this round: Get under 215.0 and stay there. Keep up my progress 1) planning better when I'm having "cheat" days (parties, eating out with family and friends, et cetera), 2) limiting alcohol intake (no more than two drinks on any occasion, stick with red wine or spirit + diet soda) and 3) continuing to lift weights at the gym 3x/wk (no more misses without making them up, barring serious circumstances... I might have to miss a day next week again, though... last one).
Day/Weight/Comment
11/09: 216.0 (+0.2)/18.1 (+0.1). I honestly half-expected this number to be much higher. It isn't that I did anything wrong; I worked out last night and I ate "reasonably" reasonably. I think I thought I might have been dehydrated a bit at my last weigh-in, and that this could have accounted for my significant final drop in weight. I had plenty of water yesterday, though. Apparently ~216 is a thing. I'm excited.
11/10: 216.4 (+0.4)/18.1 (0.0). I had a nice brunch with my wife yesterday; totally stayed on plan regarding food quality, but probably had a bit more than I should have regarding quantity. I'm headed in the gym today, and my wife is out with her sister all day, so I should have a "good day" regarding health, fitness, and food intake.
11/11: 215.6 (-0.8)/18.0 (-0.1). I hit the gym hard yesterday, and I stayed within my calories. I'm going to chill today at home and try to limit my snacking.
11/12: 217.2 (+1.6)/18.2 (+0.2). This one is a bit of a headscratcher, unless I go back 2-3 days. Even then, it doesn't make a lot of sense. I limited my snacking significantly yesterday, though dinner was a bit of a $#!+show (not that bad, but could have been better). I'm going to roll with it; I won't let it derail me. I'll be in the gym tonight trying to work this off.
11/13: 216.0 (-1.2)/18.1 (-0.1). So this is a stressful week, I guess. I skipped out on my workout yesterday so I could stay at home and work diligently on meeting my Friday deadline. Things should be better after Friday. A lot better. I'm just going to have to grit my teeth and get through the next few days. I'm going to try to stick to my goal, but I will likely be pretty happy if I was simply able to maintain my starting weight for this round. I did pretty well with food yesterday.
11/14: 216.0 (0.0)/18.1 (0.0). I'm at work already. It's pitch black outside. Not cool. I only slept five hours or so last night, so my weigh-in was likely a little funky. Hopefully I won't be too grouchy today. Food yesterday was fine. I probably won't be in the gym until Saturday morning. Still working on my Friday deadline.
11/15: 215.0 (-1.0)/18.0 (-0.1). There's something to this "skipping one workout per week" thing, at least my scale thinks so. This weekend is going to be a little rough (birthday party, nice dinner out with my wife for our upcoming wedding anniversary), but I'm headed into the weekend in a "good place." I'll be going to the gym tonight with my wife NO MATTER WHAT!!!
11/16: 215.4 (+0.4)/18.0 (0.0). I went to the gym last night with my wife, and for the first time in a long time I ended up not losing. Not an emergency, but I noticed. I'll be at my sister-in-law's birthday party tonight. I'll try to be good.
11/17: 217.8 (+2.4)/18.2 (+0.2). Saturday night didn't turn out so well. I "lost it" a little bit at the party.
11/18: 217.2 (-0.6)/18.2 (0.0). Looks like I went and had myself a weekend. Still, the damage is relatively light, given what occurred on Saturday night, particularly when I pay attention to my 10-day averages for the round. Back to the grind!
R95 EW/EBF%: 217.2 (+1.4)/18.2 (+0.2), AW/ABF%: 216.3 (-3.1)/18.10 (-0.3)12 -
69 years old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
Trying to get back to walking 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year.

Look at it as an opportunity to lose a few lbs, not that it's the recommended way! Seriously though, try not to worry, you'll get through it and it will just be a small blip on the screen of your life!
@kmfeig87, I'm sorry you have to go through chemo but stay positive and hopefully it won't be too bad. I know everyone's experience is different and I'm pulling for yours to be an easier one. Wishing you the best of luck and sending lots of healing vibes and positive thoughts!
Thank you!!!

Best of luck! I had mine out when I was 18. Take it real easy over the weekend after they get taken out. Pudding, mashed potatoes, and the blender were my best friends for the first few days. Even better if you have a friend or family member to help you out with making food the first few days. And be sure to follow the doc's instructions to the letter. Luckily I can't speak from experience but dry sockets are no joke! Nervous is normal, but it'll be over before you know it.
Thank you so much! This really made me feel a lot better4 -

Thank you! I know he will be putting me under and hopefully they give me something for the anxiety because I'm super nervous.3
