@noblsheep - so glad you and your family are well and not affected by the virus outbreak. Lots of folks here are freaking out too, especially on the college campuses and with social media.

Happy belated birthday! @mbaker566! Does Speed Demon get to approve your dates? 😁

I am not going to post much about the dogs. Having been bitten (twice) last fall, when out for a run, by the neighbor's Jack Russell I am a bit sensitive. I don't run by their house any longer, have completely changed my warm up route and find I am generally more hesitant around other 'small' dogs. The spot on my calf still bothers me at times and is a reminder to be cautious. Honestly I would probably kick the sh$t out of the dog if it came after me again. Hobbes the Vizsla is mostly ok with other dogs. I don't let him go running up to people or their dogs when on leash. He and others can be very protective on leash when they wouldn't be otherwise playing (in an appropriate place) off leash.

I am also very cautious at our 4-way stop where I have to cross to get to the trail. Many cyclists have been hit there and they installed huge stop signs, replacing the normal sized ones. People still go right through. I don't trust that anyone sees me or that they will stop even if they see me until they actually do. I have come too close to being hit too many times there. I have been known to yell at drivers; they are startled when they realize oops there was someone actually in the cross walk and they didn't even look. Once or twice I have actually banged on cars as they went by me. My daughter says I should keep a full poop bag with me and throw it at the cars but I don't want to have to carry it.

Procrastinated this morning and didn't get out for a run. Decided I needed to go out for a rare, for me, evening run. It was windy and cool and I have forgotten how pretty it can be out at sunset. The only issue were the swarms of gnats. Fortunately I didn't end up swallowing any or get any in my mouth (miracle!). I did have them stuck to my forehead and face though.

Will finish up the month to goal on Friday. We are taking Hobbes the Vizsla up to the local mountains tomorrow to hike a little and play in the snow. Or at least check out the area to go back next week when more snow is due. Also it looks like the prediction of heat on Sunday for the HM has been replaced with foggy and cool! Yay! I hope it holds and doesn't end up in the 80's!

I like the Hidden plans as well. Used one or the other HM plan for pretty much all of mine and the others I tried I didn't feel prepared me as well.

@mbaker566 - Hobbes likes everyone as well. I know if he doesn't like someone we stay away. It is so interesting to me that they have that sense about them.

@marisap2010 - I have to say just running with no race planned is rather freeing and I am enjoying it maybe more than I thought I would. I do keep having to talk myself out of signing up for any of the myriad of races that hit my email inbox. I even told DH that I wanted to run (walk) Surf City again next year since it is the 25th anniversary.

Thanks @Tramboman. It is supposed to hit 80 here today and then close to 90 tomorrow and Saturday before dropping back into the low 60's on Sunday.

I'd offer to trade you, but it is said that no good deed goes unpunished.

@Traboman I didn't realize any else from NW Ohio is on here. Awesome, someone else feels my pain over our crazy weather.

    Morning all!

Work was so busy last night and the weather is hot and humid. I think the humidity has been close to 100%. Everything feels damp and sticky guh. Just driving home at 11pm I felt that sheen.

This morning I did a gentle 3.4k to bring me to 143k even. I'm tempted to do 7k tomorrow just to hit 150k for the month! May have to rethink Februarys goal already haha! See how I go tomorrow.

How is the fire situation down there? I have not heard it on the news up here in a long while.

I also haven't heard anything since last week. There was some big rain storms a week ago over there that I think helped drench a lot of the fires but There are still some fires, and it's getting dry again. One problem with Australia and Bush fires is there is always one or two in summer, it was just crazy how many there were this time, and how big they were

@LoveyChar I'd rather push myself and still miss a big goal than coast to meeting an easy one, absolutely!

I think I learned the most from the running months or races where I didn't do what I set out to do.

@LoveyChar My marathon is March 27.

@katharmonic I can’t imagine doing 30 min/300 burpees. That makes me tired just thinking about it!

I was going to mention to you the Believe in Dreams 5k at the Zoo, but you already have a race on your schedule for that day.

was going to try a few miles this morning. dogs woke me up early so that would have been good.
    icy, black ice. no running
and poo in the living room, harry potter slippers had the toes eaten out of them, and one dog walked over to me and barfed at my feet. so my extra time was taken up with dealing with dog issues. still might be able to get some in tonight. if the weather warms up. can't run at the track. closed for speed skating trails

Dog, husband, baby, and me sleeping in bed and dog barfed all over the bed and part of floor last week. Shampooed carpet and washed bed sheets and cleaned all wood on bed. Frustrating and time consuming, but we pushed her off into my daughter's bed every night now where she's equally as happy (dog is needy and must be pressed up against a human to sleep or she'll cry) for leg room. She's like a big, old baby to take care of. She's been with us since she was a puppy, almost 8 years old now. But she will probably be my last dog.
